4141  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How religion became a thing for the poor on: February 07, 2021, 06:07:30 PM

Christians have been made to feel they have enemies everywhere that hinders their progress.

The exact terminology i believe is that they have been made to believe that they have "spiritual" enemies that have sworn that they will never be successful in life. Lol, This is the exact reason why many spend hours in churches and religious crusades praying for someone to die somewhere and release their wealth, or for some supernatural force to propel them into unending wealth. The reality of things is that if they spend time perhaps saying a different kind of prayer, the one that is for assistance in whatever endeavour and then back it up with hard work it will bring them better solutions and financial results.
4142  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Sorry but schools are not doing enough People are not educated on: February 07, 2021, 05:46:00 PM
If one relies only on what he was taught by his teachers in school, one has gained knowledge, but is not educated. In my opinion, the proper definition and description of an educated man is one who can identify problems and deficits and by himself seek out knowledge and solutions to them. The school doesn't teach you everything because they are restricted to a curriculum, they set the pace for you, but it left to you to decide whether to continue to educate your mind or simply take what you have been given and rot.
4143  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Your challenges will go away soon, don't worry too much on: February 07, 2021, 05:39:25 PM
The sooner we come to the realisation that challenges are a part of life, the better for us. As a popular saying goes, there is no rest for man, until he rest in peace. It will be delusional to believe there will be a time when we will be challenge free in life. As we solve one challenge and make progress from one stage in life, one should realise that in his moment of celebration, another challenge is preparing to come his way. It is always best we pray for the strength and grace to handle the challenges that will come our way, because they will surely come.
4144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Acquiring bitcoin: "Buy" vs "Convert" on: February 07, 2021, 05:29:08 PM
My thoughts are, since bitcoin is considered as many as digital gold, and gold is considered an asset, and we acquire assets, it is fair to say that we "buy" bitcoin.
4145  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: February 07, 2021, 05:25:51 PM
Higher education is an optional stage of education, although not considered important to many, its important cannot be overstated. Higher education exposes and brings your mind and consciousness to a higher level of thinking and comprehension. Someone who has had a proper higher education with good exposure speaks, thinks and does things differently than someone who hasn't. Higher education is not a thing of degree to me and it is not restricted to ones course of study, higher education is a thing of exposure and expanding the boundaries of your mind, thinking and doings.
4146  Other / Meta / Re: Why my posts are deleted on: February 07, 2021, 05:01:13 PM
I recently had a post of mine deleted as well, an email notification was sent to me stating that it was an off topic post. I have made my research and i have a better understanding that every content you give out has to be meaningful and every reply has to be post related. I used my example so that you first understand that this is not peculiar to you and that the moderator has nothing against you in particular. If the moderator views your posts as off topic posts, the moderator will delete it.
4147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't buy what you can't hodl. on: February 07, 2021, 04:37:53 PM
Two friends of mine who jointly invested in a coin that recently had its market value suddenly rise where very excited by their sudden profit. One brought up the notion that they should sale and quickly get their gain, the other, although not so sure said it was better to hold it that it had a good market projection rate. The other not too sure about his opinion followed the other person to sale at the profit they had made. Some fews days later the coin gained more and the two of them that sold their coins already making a little profit where not happy because they could have made more. The entire point of this example is to say that patience is key when trading and investing, don't buy what you cannot hold for long.

4149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The largest and most active cryptocurrency community online on Reddit. on: February 07, 2021, 02:34:21 PM

What do you think about this community?

I think this community will be particularly helpful to some who are very interested in the concept of crypto but do not know where to begin to source for knowledge. It is normal to feel intimidated whenever you are in the midst of people who have an inept knowledge of a field or topic that we have little or limited knowledge about. I This community levels the playing field and brings both beginner and Master closer.
4150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an investment on: February 07, 2021, 02:16:08 PM
Bitcoin is a good way to invest your money. In recent time, bitcoin has been attributed and identified by many as digital gold i.e just as the normal physical gold is good for investment, so also is the digital gold (bitcoin) good for investment as well. The question then arises, "how long are you willing to hold your investment in bitcoin once made.
4151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: February 07, 2021, 11:04:55 AM
I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions.
It is a common mode of action for people to fear what they have little or no understanding about. It is also a common thing that some people respond and accept changes a lot more slower than others. You do expect a man who normally receives his salary in dollars, to suddenly accept bitcoin as a new tender without proper information on what bitcoin is and its prospects. However, with time as popularity increases and acceptance is gained, people will come around.
4152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter founder interest in Bitcoin on: February 07, 2021, 10:53:54 AM
Jack Dorsey (the CEO of twitter)  just like Elon musk are visionaries that have identified and seen a very clear and bright future for Bitcoin. Being CEO's of top companies (Twitter, tesla, SpaceX etc) with interest in bitcoin, it  will surely drive its acceptance amongst other CEO's as well and others that see them as mentors and also increase the overall value of bitcoin. This developed interest, is very beneficial to the crypto community.
4153  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigerian Banks To Close Accounts Involved with Crypto on: February 07, 2021, 08:28:46 AM
This new development has been met with major criticism from both the citizens in that country and other onlookers from around the globe. It is however noteworthy to state that developments and policies like this usually spearhead the popularity of crypto among those who would have never heard of it. With recent statistics showing that the country is the second largest after the United States with crypto investors, i only see a situation where P2P style of transaction is promoted.
4154  Other / Off-topic / Re: Some romantic phishing attack to stay away. on: February 07, 2021, 07:31:36 AM
Scammers are really developing new strategies to phish information from anyone who lets his guard down. If you haven't been a victim of phish attack before, it is best you learn from the experiences of those that have been victims. Experience in this case, is not the best teacher.
4155  Other / Politics & Society / Ban on cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria, a good or bad move? on: February 05, 2021, 06:40:00 PM
The highest bank in Nigeria, the bank of other banks  has issued a strong warning to  financial institutions to stop cryptocurrency transactions or risk severe sanctions. The Central Bank instructed that Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) and other financial institutions should identify and close the accounts of persons who transact cryptocurrency. This order is to take effect immediately.
In 2018, it can be recalled that the central bank in Nigeria  issued a statement stating that cryptocurrencies are not a legal tender in Nigeria.
This new and unnecessary development has raised a lot of concerns, could this be a conscious move by the government to discourage the use of cryptocurrency and to put under the table the ideology of a decentralised financial system in the country?
Why is the country taking such a backward decision in such an era where other countries of the world are incorporating it into their financial system.
4156  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Face mask, politics and the funny side, a new normal in Nigeria on: February 04, 2021, 09:40:42 PM
I believe that just like other sicknesses and viruses, the corona virus is here to stay. For the purpose of this discussion, it is necessary to point out and bring to our remembrance that just like we are all facing the corona virus right now, the world has also faced some other pandemic and epidemics that changed the course of history and other times, signalled the end of a civilization. AIDS a Disease caused by the HIV virus claimed over am estimated 35 million lives globally and still remains epidemic in some regions till date. The world as a whole has been forced to adjust to it and continue thus so also it will have to adjust again to the terms of the Corona virus for the now if we must continueto make progress. The world cannot completely eradicate the covid virus, hence it must adjust to a new way of life, a new norm. The USE OF FACE MASK, is one of the terms of relationship the corona virus has brought upon us so we must adjust. Although some do not properly adhere to the rules of proper usage, it's necessity cannot be completely ruled out. It is important to always use your comfortable face mask in public places.
4157  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People in government is against bitcoin on: January 30, 2021, 06:24:43 PM
It remains a fact that Bitcoin is revolutionary. It has brought and opened up a new financial market that those yet to accept (some governments and some individuals) it as a medium of exchange because of their underlying skepticism will be self pressured into giving it a chance. The vast majority of financial institutions of leading countries in the world, are already seeing possibilities with bitcoin. Soon this fast spreading financial fever will spread and catch up with both people and governments of other countries.
4158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Not your keys, not your Bitcoin on: January 30, 2021, 06:13:29 PM
“Not your keys, not your Bitcoins”. This is  statement from those who have been victims of stolen bitcoins. It is a statement that is meant to call to your attention that as long as financial transactions remain centralized, the situation or happenstance of you losing your bitcoin is almost inevitable.
This is perhaps the reason why the Decentralized finance (DeFi) is the next big thing. Decentralised financial systems are based on smart contracts which operates automatically without any interference from a central source. You get to make the rules and policies as regards your financial life, You become the Boss!
4159  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lai Xiaomin, former boss of an investment fund Executed. on: January 29, 2021, 12:51:59 PM
The Chinese government has strong laws and frowns against bribery and collection of bribe. The death sentence is too strong a judgement for collecting bribe (life imprisonment should have been considered). However, examples that have been made with people that have defaulted like Mr Lai Xiaomin will surely send a strong message to other corrupt officials that collection of bribe in the country is a "no no" and could cost them their life.
4160  Other / Politics & Society / Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine, is it the end to the deadly corona virus? on: January 29, 2021, 09:08:45 AM
Isreal leads the race in the vaccination against the deadly Corona virus. The Israeli government struck a deal with Pfizer Biontech a German biotechnology company  to get quick and fast assess to the vaccine from them in exchange for a partial access to the health data of its citizens. With this deal in place, since the 19th of December, up to a quarter of Israel's entire population have received at least one dose of this vaccine.
In a very recent published in their local news blog (see link at the end of post), the Pfizer-BioNTech shots are  living up to expectations as statistics taken from the people vaccinated has been found the vaccine to be 92% effective against the virus, an impressive statistics for the vaccine outside clinical trials and test. Israel is set to increase vaccination and have more than half of its population vaccinated by the middle of the year.
Although this is raising up the issue of a breach in privacy, are we about to witness the end of the corona virus? Is this statistics good enough for other countries to begin vaccination and use of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine?
