4141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My view on Bitcoin on: November 18, 2020, 04:50:28 AM
although there are lots of way to use bitcoin but most of people see bitcoin as the simple & easiest way to earn money. Recently bitcoin price increase a lot, that makes investors profitable and also attract new users view on it. But alas for them who miss this oppourtunity. Maybe its unfair to think bitcoin only as the method of earning. Thus bitcoin future will be apart from the purpose it was created for
Bitcoin is a currency, but we have been using it as a mode of investment as well. That however is a secondary thing compared to what fiat is for traditional markets.

While we have been taking investments in fiat for a long time, we became accustomed to it. For new crypto users this phase will takes time but gradually bitcoin will become second to fiat for them too.

I don't think it's unfair, but a gradual progress from one group to another.
4142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: does the stable coin require an underlying? on: November 17, 2020, 05:26:32 AM
based on my experience in economics when currencies are printed to create a stable price that ensures the underlying and also the right financial circulation is it like that in cryptocurrency?
Does bitcoin have a underlying asset? Or do people believe in it and can transact in it making it worthy? I guess this part of the economics is still grey in terms of textbook knowledge and needs more research. Shocked

Quote
If the cryptocurrency uses the underlying, will the cryptocurrency be more stable than other altcoins?
We can take up the scenario of the Stablecoin USDT, it is backed by USD on the Omni blockchain but somewhat considered a scam by many crypto-users.

Quote
will the altcoin be said to be a real asset and can it be legal?
Legality is decided by the ones governing us. Not going into discussions of Anarchist ideals but if they declare it as illegal then there is little you can do about it.

Back to the question in your title, I think most stablecoins out there have a backing. Bitcoin not being a stablecoin does not have any backing. However this is not a proper explanation if the reverse is also true or not, just stating of facts.
4143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum (ETH) Mixer on: November 17, 2020, 05:21:25 AM
I would suggest the OP to not follow any less known sites for this. If I recall correctly there is no such service still available, but I might be wrong. BTC mixers are common and well known but ETH mixers, probably was asked in some other topic in this forum but failed to reach a proper answer.

I would reconsider the reasons why you are trying to mix those coins. To remain anonymous or avoid tracking? Most of it depends on how your local administration handles cryptocurrency holders. The fear lead to the rise of mixers in this sector.

If you are desperate, go for exchanging to BTC and mix that then reconvert to ETH - not sure if that is a good method itself or not (?)
How about converting ETH>XMR which is a privacy focused coin?
4144  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy Trading... on: November 17, 2020, 05:15:40 AM
When cap and/or liquidity is low, it can turn into some pump and dump schemes where pro traders use followers as a leverage for quick profit.
Some platforms as -snip- only trade large cap assets which acknowledge for this risk by default.

Understandable that you are trying to push out your propaganda because you earn from it, but that is not completely correct. After being in the market for several years one which is unregulated and always under the vigilance of bigger authorities and scammers, manipulators, I can safely say that doing so can make you rich or poor at the same time.

The term "pro traders" is a misnomer and one that is rampantly used in the forum like they are real pros, they are not, but only self-proclaimed ones. Majority of the users who are making money are not directly trading but only marketing scams/gimmicks to newbies who are gullible enough to fall for it.

In short, like I said above, copy trading is a scam and if you dont believe it, dont. See it yourself and you will find out on your own. No need to trust my words for it. Roll Eyes
4145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will central banks create their own digital currencies? on: November 16, 2020, 12:14:52 PM
Most people, that is the fiat using people dont care about centralized or decentralized, they dont want to mess up their work with these words and only want the hard green cash in hand. For them this wont matter.

Fact is that bitcoin users have always been against this idea. However with time they will be forced to accept the truth that without the banks support and development of own crypto or allowing merchants to freely access crypto, the users of crypto are going to lose the market to spend their coins.

Even if someone is a hodler, they need to sell at some point or another to book the profit. If there is no longer any market to sell, whats the use of holding them. We are optimistic about that future market and for that I believe banks involvement is essential.
4146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting strategy advice on: November 16, 2020, 12:08:38 PM
I think sigle betting is the safest way to bet on sports betting because it has less risk compared to multy bet. If I want to establish myself to continue gambling every week on only one best team, will I be able to win more money at the end of the season? If not, what will cause me to lose at the end of the season ?
You are assuming that one certain team of your choice is "best" and that they will win every game. This is not the case. Any team can win any game and more so matches may be fixed to fool gamblers, or just your bad luck that your winning streak gets broken in the middle.

Do we see a single team win every match in a season, No. But majority games yes, if they end up as champion.

What you rather need is analysis of previous matches and then calculated guesses based on that. Not just favouritism to one team and blindly betting on that. That is illogical and will end up with losses.
4147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Extreme greed on the market on: November 16, 2020, 12:04:22 PM
only selected altcoins can determine the bullish momentum in the current situation, such as Defi altcoins and of course Ethereum, we know that this is a difficult season for altcoins, but we don't give up, just keep holding your altcoins.
If you have been watching the market for a long time, you would not make that statement. Bitcoin is what sets the movement in the first place. Rest all altcoins simply follow the trend. Currently the effect is due to the Paypal deal for crypto payments and this fueled a big bullish trend. Altcoins are following it like anything.

But if you are wise enough you would sell off your altcoins at profit during this pump rather than keep holding on to them. Rest assured, they are not going to be next to bitcoin ever in future, they remain "alts".
4148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My view on Bitcoin on: November 15, 2020, 05:34:16 AM
I believe that in the curent world situation the crypto is one of the best sectors that can lead you to huge profits but not anyone can do this
You must be wise and patient and of course you must know how you avoide scammers
I think you are referring to a long term approach in which case bitcoin is good as long as no huge problem arises in this world that takes down bitcoin with it. For the short term though the stock markets know their deal. Pharma and FMCG is what is making the profit these days if you had some holdings in those stocks already.

But I dont agree that anyone can make profits. I have seen foolish people put their money into other altcoins in the meantime arguing that they think it is going to go up - it is not, thats a ground rule when comparing with bitcoin.

Also avoiding scammers needs practice and experience. Newbies are at highest risk but I have seen veterans get scammed too, so no comments there.
4149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Some bounty hunters are so ungrateful on: November 15, 2020, 05:30:54 AM
would they really pay in the end of the duration of the campaign? and also they wont waste up their accumulated btc just to pay out into their marketing if they can pay some shitty token.
Quite the correct point. They would rather keep the more secure/stable asset aka bitcoin with them and use their token to pay because they know it is a shitcoin. Grin

Quote
I did actually get the point on what op is being stated on here but im just on the neutral side on where bounty hunters do have the right to express out their feelings but its a bit unethical if they do directly give out some negative trust without verifying everything. For self-team project manager who do handle out the campaign then it might be worth but for known managers of this forum then its better not to conclude directly.
But honestly, only the hunters care about each other and in a toxic way to the rest of the community. They fail to understand how this forum works and become less mature about handling things like negative trust and scam projects. Thus the reason why the established members of this forum have a dislike regarding them.

Anyway the middle ground for them is to take their risks for real, accept that the project is a failure and move on.

Quote
Bounty hunters do have some mistakes for sometime but this isnt really that much of an issue actually.
Scam projects are the bigger issue IMO.
4150  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy Trading... on: November 14, 2020, 05:56:09 AM
I'm not really familiar with copy trading but it looks pretty helpful especially for the newbies. What could be the cons of it for using beside from the newbies wasn't able to get real trading experience from copy trading.
No fellow bitcoiner, it is a gimmick. Let me explain it.

You are copy trading when you are simply following a bigger trader and copy pasting their trades in your orders. The may seem like a nice way to make profit but honestly, if it was so possible would the copy traders not have become millionaires themselves in the first place? Think about it, its not to. You understand the similarity of the confidence trick done with ponzi schemes here?

Majority of people talking about copy trading are scammers looking for money. They tell you that they are selling you the lists from bigger traders but it is complete lie. Orderbooks are open true, but orders made by whom are never open to others.

It ends up being a pump and dump and you are dragged into buying shitcoins while the bigger whale who told you to buy it, sells.
4151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cross-chain exchanges, anyone? on: November 14, 2020, 05:44:41 AM
The COMIT Network is a cross-chain protocol which allows you to perform transactions from one chain to another. It's not an exchange per se. But the protocol can be used to build a cross-chain exchange that would allow a person to trade from one coin to another living on different blockchain networks respectively. The concept is similar to atomic swaps, except that it can be used regardless if the crypto being exchanged has adopted SegWit + Lightning Network or not. It's completely revolutionary if you ask me (more info here: https://comit.network).
I see, this is an interesting information for many users in this forum who are taking part cross platform exchanges. I wonder how long it will take before this becomes something like a normal exchange for everyone. Would like to know more about it in future as to how they are mitigating possible risks associated with this type of conversions.
Quote
For now, we have "wrapped" tokens on the ETH blockchain which are based on the original crypto assets. Exchanging WBTC (Wrapped Bitcoin) to ETH or any other ERC-20 tokens is now feasible. My guess is that developers will go this route instead of creating a new cross-chain exchange from scratch. The current approach is not completely decentralized though. But at least it brings an alternative to people looking to avoid centralized exchanges altogether. As crypto/Blockchain tech becomes mainstream, we might be able to see new concepts of exchanging crypto without middleman. I'm impressed by how far Block DX (a decentralized exchange) has gone. More competition is needed in order to reduce centralized exchange's dominance in the crypto/Blockchain space. Until cross-chain exchanges become a working product, we're going to have to rely on P2P platforms and ordinary decentralized exchanges. Just my thoughts Grin
I have heard of wrappedBTC too, but it is not the complete package but a workaround to ERCtoken<>BTC exchanges. I believe that CEXs are DEXs are not meant to keep fighting for that problem and hope to see only "exchanges" in future even if asking KYC but having a legal backing from government to perform their business without hassle. It will obviously be a long way down after crypto can have a mainstream coverage.
4152  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] Cryptoboy.ltd Doubler Scam Website. on: November 13, 2020, 05:36:24 AM
Good job finding it and posting it here.

They stopped posting on the forum using their shill accounts because they are not getting bummed by the Type1Flag and newbies are getting cautious seeing it from outside the forum. Hence posting a thread about it will definitely help for those who are going to put up a search on any search engine about the site above.

No effort at stopping a scam goes to waste so keep up the good work. If they make any account to post, open a flag on them too, but I doubt they have the guts to do that. Make sure you report to NameCheap too.
4153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My view on Bitcoin on: November 13, 2020, 05:30:45 AM
Since the introduction of cryprocurrencies such as bitcoin in our present world, a whole lot who took advantage of it has made tremendous profits from investing and acquiring it.
Dude, at least spell the big names properly before posting the thread. Tongue
Anyway, there is also a whole lot of people who lost money too. You are seeing the survivor-ship bias here. Both groups may not have not known well what they were doing and so its out of topic to say that one group was advantageous of the other.

Quote
Bitcoin with its global value currently has become an investment tool for many across the globe.
Considering the metrics of the investments in the world, nah. It is still a niche group. Of course bigger investment capital groups dont come under it, so you could be right too.

Quote
It is also a means of storing wealth with the strong hope of heavy returns in the future.
Wrong mentality though. Bitcoin was never meant to be an investment method, it become one, it was supposed to be a currency. Whether it gives big returns or big losses is secondary to its ideals.

Quote
I keep wondering what bitcoin would rise to  in the nearest future. In past decades when it was newly introduced it all sounded like a joke, many made mockery of it in which I was one of such persons. But today we all fold our hands in regrets wishing we took hold of the opportunity when it wasn't make much impact as its doing in our present society today. If you haven't considered owning a bitcoin give it a thought today
In this forum you might find people who would agree with you, but the world outside is not like that. Many people out there have heard of bitcoin and dont really care, even after seeing its price pump. Majority of people who investment are worried about legal problems and dont want to run into troubles in the late years of life. Be practical you will also understand the sentiment from their point of view.
4154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypterium contract address. Need help on: November 13, 2020, 05:19:40 AM
Check the swap that happened recently. It should solve your problem. You dont need to change the contract address and by all means doing so is impossible from your side. Neither is a new token address being used.

A similar topic came up a few days back and was solved similarly.

In future though, keep an eye on their telegram channel for news and development or at least sign up to their newsletter to make sure you dont miss out on such important topics which have been announced.
4155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 12, 2020, 06:30:36 AM
Its sad to hear for sure. Those who ran offline casinos have faced the problem but not just them but Hotels, Bars, Pubs, Restaurants and so on - places of public gathering. Now whether you want to gamble at that site again is completely your own choice.

Online casinos are always at an advantage here but of course the ambience of the offline casino is unmatched and the social gathering there is completely absent when you are "gambling from home".

Considering the fact that even online casinos have tech and support crews in certain offices around the world, I wonder how they are coping up. Of course the teams there are much smaller compared to the average employee/casino ratio.
4156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the innovation of 2014 to 2017 in the Bitcoin community? on: November 12, 2020, 06:23:22 AM
Very few ideas end up as a real life case. Bitcoin was one of them but this wont mean that other altcoins are going to be the next.

The buzz that ICOs started after ethereum did pump the market, but you have to understand that unscrupulous people are very much in this sector and being unregulated without any authority they can never be stopped and they ruined what ERC20 token projects could have been.

Same thing happened with DeFi too now, it was there for a long period of time but this hype changed what it was, to simple lending pools and stablecoins.

However I dont blame a pandemic for this. Crisis will happen and we have to deal with it instead of thinking about it and its effects. Accepting and using a change for the better is what most of us fail to do but it is the way to grow.

There has been the recent paypal deal and the market is above all, bullish. But here lies the importance of patience.
4157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Upcoming Projects Doing Scam on: November 12, 2020, 06:16:19 AM
They dont like to be paid up measly with $30-60 max/week and thats why they've decided to go with bounties on where they can possibly earn thousands of dollars but to know  that those are just possible into those golden days where ICO is still precious and worth for the time but as of todays era then i dont see that light anymore.
They are still in the bubble I know, just hoping that gradually they will come out of it and understand the grim reality that bitcoin is the only thing that they should buy and hold on to. Not some crazy altcoin talking about changing the entire system and taking over the world. Thats a 13year old kid's dream not the sign of the sane minded entrepreneur.

Quote
Some of them might not able to know about the existence of bitcoin paying signature campaigns which i do agree that this is way more better as an option if you do really look for something side income.Todays bounty hunting is just purely a waste of time and it isnt really worth for the effort that had been made.
At one time it was profitable for them and the ICO bubble made them gain some profits for those who sold at the top and didnt hold on to the shitcoins.

But this generated the market for more shitcoins which never crossed the ICO sale price and thus went down.
4158  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] trustcoin.exchange - Fake exchange on: November 11, 2020, 12:20:23 PM
This has now become a well known scam. This week we are seeing these retro scams in bigger number like the Ethereum Diamond and now this one with the deposit trick.

Its like the con man who comes to you and says he knows how to make a 1000$/day and then talks all bullcrap about something that nobody knows of and then asks you to buy a book which tells about this methods for a 100$.

The scam is that 100$ and nothing more. If he does that to 10people per day, he is essentially making 1000$/day. Grin
4159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Upcoming Projects Doing Scam on: November 11, 2020, 12:12:31 PM
If is real picture most of the project to be true. Hide and seek game behind us, they promised there will be improvement and more development when token are extremely terrible shape! Every bounty project token price is high first time then big dump and no hunters take benefits. The scams in crypto run very deep, what we can! just be very careful.
No my friend, you have better ways to improve this. You have talent and you are wasting it and your time by taking part in such projects. Embarrassed

What you can do is improve your posting habits and gradually rank up to higher ranks (for those who are not yet.)

Then apply for bitcoin paying campaigns. Trust me, you will be able to take part in the forum discussions and get paid a decent amount every week as a side earnings. You can invest your time in this and it will pay off. Sadly very few people have taken this advice.
4160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC for bounty hunters on: November 11, 2020, 12:10:07 PM
it's no fair for bounty hunter if they will be asked for kyc and the project is a scam. actually both the bounty project and the participants are cheating both so i really don't think its necessary for the bounty hunters to conduct kyc in my opinion.
If the project is a scam and is still asking for KYC then you can be pretty sure the data will be sold off to some darknet marketplaces. Also someone in the forum will post a scam accusation explaining the situation and that should stop the majority of the hunters who still have an intact brain. The rest braindead bounty hunters will be scammed like this and thus the cycle of frustration>depression>new bounty joining will go on.

KYC seems unnecessary, because what developers need is that we can introduce the products they develop,
for bounty hunters their job is only to advertise products and for investors, KYC may be really needed
The point is brought up more these days because there are many cheaters who use more than one account to spam the bounties and essentially defraud the project funds.
