I don't exactly understand how this scam works, if you are well versed in tech and could explain in layman that would great.

This is the Reddit thread where user received the 'replacement': https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/o154gz/package_from_ledger_is_this_legit/

Article explaining scam but it went over my head: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/cryptocurrency/criminals-are-mailing-altered-ledger-devices-to-steal-cryptocurrency/

Even without such feature, most people know how moderators work here xD
4164  Other / Meta / Re: Signature spam - how to force users to read before replying? on: June 20, 2021, 03:29:10 AM
~
I feel moderators never ban high-ranked users for spamming?

I feel that there is some leeway to higher ranked memebers, when I used to be full member I used to get my posts deleted frequently but since I became senior it seems to be less and less. It could sure be some kind of fallacy ofc.
4165  Local / India / Re: HDFC, SBI Warn Customers Of Restrictions If They Deal In Cryptocurrency on: June 19, 2021, 04:05:04 AM
I have written on this topic and on the RBI announcements on this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5339221.0

In relation to the Crypto bill, it does seems like it is proposed to be introduced in the parliament soon. However, the committee that was formed had provided it's report and the draft of the Bill in 2019. However, the report is quite one-sided and does not factor in many of the use cases that it should. I just hope some common sense prevails and the government revisits the bill before it is even introduced.

They likely will, as,

- Crypto is even bigger than last time when bill was created

- Other countries are taking positive steps regarding crypto

-  There is huge money to be made for government

People do same thing on Reddit when there are no signatures, as previously suggested (you see what I did there?) it would be better idea to have some rules with campaign managers that make them hire quality posters. Shitposts will decline naturally.

Newbie restrictions are fine as it is, 'analysing' performance of newbie is stupid idea and will just put extra work on relevant parties.

Hi Digital Gold Team,

do you know when the campaign will start or when you decide whom to accept? Would be nice to have response.

Much appreciated, thanks.

I'll jump in, it has always been active, you can apply in this thread and if you receive response in few days you can wear the sign and avatar. If you don't receive response, it means application was rejected. Hope it helps.
4172  Other / Meta / Suggestion: Tags for better sorting of content on: June 16, 2021, 02:33:41 AM
What title says really,

Add ability to add tags when creating topic.

For example, if one wants to check 'merit giveaway' threads, he could click/search on tags (merit, merit-giveaway, giveaway — could also add ability to sort through boards), imo it will be more convenient to find topics than using search option.

What do you think?

That was certainly inappropriate but I don't think it was cause he's black.

What gives you idea that this forum doesn't have enough fund? I would call your suggestions worst ever in history of suggestions.
4176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Bitcointalk Urban Achievers Merit Scholarship Program on: June 14, 2021, 03:59:19 AM
I. I came across BTC around 2013/14 when I was registered on an Indian forum.  I remember asking if using it was legal because it was quite hard to get head around it.

Also, learned about faucets then and created my first blockchain.info wallet.

In the marketplace of that forum, people were giving mobile recharges for doing some tasks. Those tasks were about claiming Stellar airdrop. This airdrop was basically my deep dive into crypto, i came across sites like coingecko, bitcointalk, exchanges etc. I eventually sold that airdrop for ~$50.

I I. Posts:

1. I was fucked..

2. Bitcointalk Memes

3. Gmail creation date
