Returning 8.9% interest compounded daily is a good enough reason for me to warn people.  Think about it, how can someone afford to keep paying out interest at a rate like that?

Tysat You are missing some key factors:

1) Mining United has stated they are not doing this forever
2) Currently they have the mining power to pay this out
3) Their payout rate changes over time, with difficulty, etc
4) They make money on premier memberships
5) They ARE NOT accepting new purchases at this time meaning that THEY HAVE THEIR LIMITS

You must be confused by the fact you think they are 1) Doing this forever, 2) Always going to take new purchases, 3)Always paying out that rate

Tysat I actually thank you for playing devil's advocate as it is helping to get these questions that need to be answered - but so far, all checks out.
This is almost a word for word exact quote of the kind of stupid shit I used to say about Trendon and BTCS&T !!

It is just like looking in a mirror and, like I said, I hang my head in shame every time I recall spouting crap like this and defending an obvious ponzi scheme.

4165  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3700 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: May 03, 2013, 02:38:10 PM
My theory:  I would almost bet that in the entire history of deepbit it has never gone over 24 hours without getting at least one block.  When it went 24 hours without a block for the first time this uncovered a bug in the web site code.

Am I right?
4166  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: May 03, 2013, 02:35:44 PM
TLDR; Our FAQ page is filled with false claims to get you to use our service over CampBX. We don't give a shit about you.

Use www.campbx.com to avoid all of these retarded downtimes, bugs and shotty service.

BitFinex slogan "We'll work on it"
Yes, please go trade at CampBX.  I am sure that you will be perfectly happy over there and that over at CampBX you won't lose any money, ever.

The original post that started all this was obvious sarcasm.  This thread should be locked, closed and then moved to the trash bin.

How about this:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=188554.0

I don't think it can be done faster and easier than an ATM that takes cash and spit out BTC.

4173  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Bitcoin Wallet for Android on: May 01, 2013, 09:09:59 PM
That is a bug. If you reset your chain and let it sync that should fix it.
Yes, it did fix it. Looks great now.  Thanks!
4174  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: May 01, 2013, 07:30:13 PM
Lending BTC was broken, but looks to be fixed again.

Why does the lending matching break - right when I want to lend?

Reported also user "BurtW" to admins.

WTF?  I simply wanted him to properly label this thread so we know who he is talking about (you) without having to dig through the other thread.  I have not publicly taken a "side" in this debate and did not really care one way or the other.  But now you have dragged me into it I have started to care.

OK, read through the info.  It looks like you may not actually be the seller.  You wrote:

BTW: I AM NOT THE SELLER. Chicago is not located in Europe...

OK who has PROOF he is the seller?  Anyone?  Anyone?

If there is no proof that he is the seller this entire thread should be deleted and locked.

Holy crap - how many threads are there on this one subject?

Out.

4176  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT!!! on: May 01, 2013, 04:04:54 PM

After 1000 (or maybe 5000) posts we should get "super hero" status.
4178  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Bitcoin Wallet for Android on: May 01, 2013, 03:29:56 PM
One of my transactions is listed as "dead" in the wallet and shows a "!" instead of the normal green circle.  The transaction shows as valid in the block chain.  What is going on?  Do I need to reset/reload the block chain in order to fix this?

My wallet balance is correct.
The person I sent the coins to got the coins.

So it is just anoying to look at in the GUI on my phone, does not appear to have affected anything.

Transaction in question is:

No, because I have a few of them.
4180  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: May 01, 2013, 11:32:47 AM
I am not defending it.  I have stated many many times that I believe USD denominated loans are a very bad idea for the lenders (good idea for the borrowers though).

BTW I am also out of here.  Not because I didn't understand the MtGoxUSD gif but because even good and very good loans go bad and then there is nothing I can do to even try to collect them or propose a settlement with the borrower.

When I do loans myself (as I have been doing for years) if the borrower gets into trouble we can talk, modify terms etc.

Here they still do nothing to even try to collect the debt.

I hope that in the future they do implement some collections system and that I may get back some part of the large amount of BTC I lost in this experiment.

Good luck guys.

Small nit but why do you keep that last little 0.0045 BTC?  I tried and I cannot totally clear out my account here.  I find this kind of insulting that after all my losses I cannot get all my remaining BTC back from you.
