Historically when a significant previous high is broken, there is no return. Your best bet is $280.

Good observation. However, there is some element of truth in what they say (on a larger scale) because the rallies do happen when the ask sum is low. Right now the ask sum is extremely low. There is about 30K BTC split accross all major exchanges. We know from history that when the bubble pops, about 200K BTC used to suddenly appear on gox.  So once we hit $600 or something we'll probably see about 60K each appear on gox, btcchina, bitstamp, and bitfinex.

4167  Economy / Speculation / Re: 20 articles on 'Bitcoin is broken', researchers warn' doesn;t move price? why? on: November 07, 2013, 01:27:34 AM
By 20 articles do you mean 20 copies of one article? Greedy mining pools? Its not an issue yet and developers are probably already working on a patch. They have proven themselves very skillful and in control of these kinds of things in the past.

4169  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the bubble pop? on: November 06, 2013, 11:47:27 PM
After the real bubble begins and the chart rescales, October/November will be seen as the "steady rise period" like march. Anyone who thinks 4%/day is fast is new to bit coin.
4170  Economy / Speculation / Re: So who sold < $230? on: November 06, 2013, 11:39:06 PM
I sold and rebought at a nice profit. Does this count?
4171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 06, 2013, 11:33:44 PM
Who says money can't enter gox? They probably would still gladly accept deposits even though there are issues with withdrawals. Look at the bid sum now: it is nearly 18 million - a level that hasn't been seen since April, and in the face of all that whale dumping. The bulls will surely deposit at gox if stamp is rallying and they can accumulate at a fair price.
4172  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the bubble pop? on: November 06, 2013, 11:22:46 PM
The bitcoin economy suddenly grows from a single major (incompetent) exchange to several high volume highly liquid exchanges plus etfs, second market, etc. The price goes up 80% over an entire month  to a level that its already visited during the mtgox era. This is a bubble?
4173  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens when BTC is too expensive to buy? on: November 06, 2013, 10:52:22 PM
I want to buy 1/21,000,000 of the new global internnet economy. How much do I pay?
4174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 06, 2013, 08:51:42 AM

I found an interesting fractal when comparing tonight's chart with last week's "mother of all cuphandles". Maybe it forecasts something that's about to happen: We go sideways for a day while drilling away at the resistance and then have a massive breakout?
4175  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10k Sell wall just now on: November 06, 2013, 08:37:31 AM
China didnt give a flying fuck and was first to recover (early) to 1590, only 0.5% from its high. Stamp followed with a recovery to $253, only 1% below its high. Finally now gox is following. There are 1300BTC of new bids including a 608. Oh there goes the buying.
4176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 06, 2013, 08:33:26 AM
Alright this time I think btcchina led the recovery instead of stamp. What do we call this instead of a stampede?
4177  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm glad my BTC are in cold storage or i'd be getting twitchy on: November 06, 2013, 08:31:39 AM
Ya. At this point where I've placed it results in a profit.  Grin

Got my margin position at $233.

I feel nervous for you. Like watching somebody else walk to the edge of a precipice. Good luck. Do you have a parachute (Stop) in place?
4178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 06, 2013, 06:10:07 AM
Meanwhile bitstamp still at 251.5

The Collector (of coins) strikes again.

4180  Economy / Speculation / Re: calm down everyone on: November 05, 2013, 11:47:17 PM
My theory is someone specifically tries to crash gox so they can accumulate cheap coins on other exchanges. Then they buy back their coins on gox from the bots they sold to for little to no loss, or a profit even.
