4161  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Digitoad, another pump and dump project? on: April 19, 2023, 07:54:13 AM
This is not the first time shitcoins will come with their propaganda, Digitoad is not an exception. The actors behind it must have carefully studied the prevailing market and are using marketing and influencers to propagate it.

I've read a lot on the internet and news outlets about the coin, they are only playing their gimmicks to the novice in the game. For how long can this be sustained? I don't know. What I know is that investing my money in Digitoad is a big risk am not willing to take after my experience with coins and tokens.

Don't be surprised that there are rich people behind the project, but they won't be able to sustain it for long.
4162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin price control by human agents or electronic technology? on: April 19, 2023, 07:39:58 AM
I was once like you when I started trading in the financial market, the principle of price movement and charting of Bitcoin is not an exception. I would advise you not to bother yourself much with the accuracy of the price gauge, but the factor that decides the price is what is setting the price of Bitcoin and the currency paired with it.

What happens to either of them (BTC/USD for example) could be technical (market sentiment in which the technical chart would dictate the prevailing price) or fundamental (economical factors in which the news and events surrounding or linked to Bitcoin and the paired currency, including the country spending the paired currency).

Either of this or both could be detrimental or appraisal to the price of the coin as you see it moving up and down at the slightest influence.
4163  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much is good to start a supermarket? on: April 19, 2023, 07:27:16 AM
This largely depends on you, your style, your plan and the country of residence. However, I would advise you to carefully define what you mean by the 'Super'market as many might mistake it for just a minimart or small grocery store.

For me, you much be rich before you can put a standard supermarket in place, and even if you are not so rich, you much have been far beyond an average person that perhaps has access to loans as well.

This is not so tasking if money is available, but be sure that to inquire and learn all the rudiments about it, they will help you so much.
4164  Economy / Economics / Re: Bans on crypto now looks like a joke on: April 18, 2023, 08:25:51 AM
As per your question, I would have thought that China would embrace crypto more than the US, but the reverse is the case.

However, the data at my disposal still shows that more Yankees are engaging in crypto than Chinese in terms of headcount and percentage of the population.

As of 2022 according to Coinbase, 20% of Yankees (66.38 million people) deal with crypto. While Trple-A puts the Chinese percentage to be 5.5%, which is 31.06 million people.

Regardless of the accurate figure, the fight against crypto is a lost course.
4165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 18, 2023, 06:55:36 AM
Liverpool still have chance to be able to compete in the top 4 of the Premier League this season after convincing 1-6 victory over Leeds United, current 8th standings still not close chance for Liverpool with champion league ticket next season because they have the same games with Newcastle United on 4th standings and have 9 points remaining. Depend on consistency performance or not for Liverpool if want compete with top fourth position, but if loss points in 8 games left seems not chance for them to play in Champion League next season.

Liverpool have won a game this season but have to win against another team to go to the next stage. Liverpool didn't enter the field with much pressure on Leeds United but despite the win by a huge margin, Liverpool are not far ahead in points. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah was successful in only one attack and allowed other players to score. Diogo Jota scored two goals which saw huge appeal among football lovers. And Liverpool should show better performance in the next match.
Liverpool was impressive against Leeds yesterday, the 6-1 was shocking judging by the recent form of the club. The energy, dominance and will to score more goals were there. Though they were able to do such with a weaker club, I will not be rating them much for now, they are full of disappointment. They need consistency to prove themselves and mostly need this among the big clubs.

They will meet the lesser clubs till the season is over, which might be an advantage for them to gather more points if they maintain the feat.

4167  Economy / Economics / Re: Potential Scenarios for Deciding to Issue a Digital Shekel on: April 18, 2023, 06:02:23 AM
I don't like to align with the view that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins are threats to fiat. They cannot function without fiat in an economy, so none of them is a threat to the other, they will only do their part in serving their owners/users that knows how to manoeuvre within them for trading, investment, low transaction cost and for other uses.

Some of what countries' CBDC project is targetting are what you have iterated, the inclusivity, accountability and more regulation are additionally their goals, not being a primary competitor.

4168  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 17, 2023, 08:43:29 PM
About KYC. You need to read ToS. Usually the casino include KYC before withdraw in their ToS but until your withdrawals are small enough they can allow such withdrawals. If you withdraw such sum and there is KYC in ToS - you have to do it. You can try several times in different ways i think.
About bonuses. You need some information when you made this deposit and when the bonus program was stopped. And it can be some more restrictions for getting bonus, read attentively.

A KYC before withdrawing cannot really be considered in my view as a problem or an abusive condition, since it is pretty much a standard legal requirement. Now, to be fair, the site is playing the user in the sense that it is easy to send funds and then difficult to take back. Legally, the site is holding funds of unknown origin, so my guess is that they are at that moment doing something illegal.
I think that it would be honest to KYC before the deposit. Today it looks like that casino easily takes the gamblers money and when they have to give them back - gambler gets troubles. It is unfair for my opinion. Yes, gambler have to read ToS but if he has to KYC before deposit - he can make his decision about KYC and when he is asked KYC before withdrawal - he has no choice.
Some of scam casino trick is that they don't ask KYC once a gambler going to deposit but in the end of the day then a gambler want to withdraw his/her winning money they the casino is immediately ask for KYC and even though you already complete they will said that your account is suspicios. So for now as a gambler we need to double are security let's gamble on the nos reputable and trusted casino. So that we found fall into a trap.
Some of the cases that have occurred have made valuable experiences for myself, like now I only gamble at reputable casinos on this forum, although sometimes they ask me to do KYC before depositing, I will do it so that when I withdraw funds, I am not asked for KYC again and the casino will not be able to say as you say.
Gambling at a trusted casino is a way to avoid these fraudulent tricks.
You are wise, unlike many that would be avoiding KYC and will be swindled by those fraudulent casinos. Come to think of it, which reputable casino on this forum doesn't ask for KYC? No serious casino will not be registered and be under regulator(s), and these are the reason why they must be thorough in protecting their reputation and try to be fair with their customers.

I make sure that I do my KYC immediately after I register in casinos. This is even before I make my first deposit to have rest of mind and avoid later issues.
4169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: April 17, 2023, 12:19:57 PM
With all the efforts done on Chelsea so far, in trying to bring back Chelsea into form, right from the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and to the sacking of Graham Potter to bringing in Lampard now, yet things seem to be worsening. I'm beginning to think that Chelsea has entered and is facing their down time as a football club.

Arsenal and Manchester united was once upon a time in that situation, even Liverpool too. However, what they need do right now, is to bring the right measure in place to get Chelsea out early, in order not to spend more time than they should spend struggling to get up, hence they will lose the ability to buy high valuable players, because every player wants to see himself play in the champions league compition.
The Arsenal team is doing great in the English Premier League, and is competing with Manchester City. However, Arsenal's performance in other leagues is slightly lower than in the Premier League. But Arsenal are much better than they were in the past.

Arsenal has been eliminated from both the FA Cup and Europa League, leaving them with only the Premier League for the remainder of the season. It is hoped that they will win the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League next season. It would be fascinating to see their performance in the Champions League, as Manchester City has been making waves in recent years. Even if they do not reach the final, it would be great if they can make it to the semi-finals and restore confidence in their fans and if they win the cup, It will be a great achievement for the Emirate.
I would like Arsenal to make it and win the Premier league. That reminds me when I was small boy and watched Arsenal dominate the league with such legendary players and legendary coach. Let's hope they can keep the lead in league and City gets more focused on Champions League.
If arsenal had won their game yesterday it would have been very easy for them to win the Premier League but now they have to  struggle to win the rest  of the games which is not still sure for them.  Arsenal will be so lucky only if Manchester City will lose some of their games, then  the Premier league is sure for them.

The mistake from Arsenal has already happened why not look ahead and be consistent with the remaining games
Arsenal will still win the league yesterday penalty miss from Saka made a fan calling him a monkey forgetting all the good things he has done in the last 29 games. That is a wrong way to address Saka who has been a very important player for Mikel Arteta
People look at the present, and they often easily forget the good that one has had. Saka is not a player that should be downgraded, let's assume that disappointment and annoyance are causing that. No one is perfect, even the better players have all lost one penalty or the other, it's part of the game, and we have to move on and forgive.

Still, this is a misfortune on the part of Arsenal, it could cost them more than you think. With the rate at which Man City is challenging them, they might blow away their chance to win the trophy.
4170  Other / Meta / This gets me worried, I think the 'Brains' in the forum should look into it on: April 17, 2023, 10:35:49 AM
I stumbled on a thread created by @nutildah (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5448111.0) and I was shocked and sad at the same time as this might be calling for a low-quality posting which I'm not ready for.

I believe we as humans should always strive to be a better version of ourselves, English improvement is not an exception, and I don't think BTT should take it away from us. I've been improving my English for years as an editor and book writer, and I've participated in many strict fora, of which one of them takes polished English writing as a requisite for post-approval before I joined BTT last year. They also recommend "Grammarly" for English improvement.

"Grammarly," an English software recommended by even schools has always been my English tutor and guide for the past 3 years, which has tremendously helped me, and of now, it hardly corrects 2-4 errors in what I write (including punctuation marks) because I was strict with its tutoring. Should I now retrogress my English writing because of BTT?

My average score on computer-based English tests is now 94%, so the forum should know that there 'must' be some exceptional writers. Some people coded the AI's English, and it's not from the heavens. So, it will be unfair to tag the post of a few exceptional English writers on the forum AI-generated when they are 100% innocent.

I was sad with the results seen when I decided to use two of the links (https://writer.com/ai-content-detector & https://x.writefull.com/gpt-detector) posted by @nutildah to test two of my written posts. The first post tested 100% and 99% human respectively. But the second post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5448086.msg62104267#msg62104267) tested 47% and 23% human respectively. This is absurd and unjust!

Personally, I love writing, I possibly don't know why I would want an AI to write a piece of cake for me. But thankfully, some people kicked against the idea, yet I want this to be a case study for the people concerned in the forum.

Peace!
4171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: April 17, 2023, 08:51:11 AM
I shared my lottery experience a while ago, it wasn't a rosy one to the extent that it was getting me addicted before I forced myself to cut it off. The most unfortunate part is that I never won a dime. This lottery company I played with is sincere, they pay their players weekly without any complaints so it's about my fault and inexperience. Some know how to do accurate calculations about this and win consistently by using the record of past events to know the numbers that will come out.

I guess it's not just for me, so I quit.
4172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving only 1 year away on: April 17, 2023, 08:30:40 AM
Bitcoin's next halving is only 1 year away.
We can't hear that halving on fiat and gold. This is what makes Bitcoin unique and special. Satoshi creates Bitcoin to repair the deficiency of fiat and gold. And, Actually, if supply reduces (halving), and demand increases, the price will follow a basic economics lesson. Yes, we cannot ignore that 4 years of facts if Bitcoin knows the basic principles of economics.

but, there are still many hypocrites who do unbelieve even have followed it 13 years ago. I don't know the reason, but usually, people like this start to love when H+2, or late.
Halving is becoming more famous, a Bitcoin tradition that is unique to the blockchain and attracts demands across cryptocurrencies every 4 years. But I will rather compare Bitcoin with other cryptocurrencies rather than fiat and gold you compared it with because they are not the same thing. They are not structured the same way, so I don't expect them to halve, what are they halving?

We should concentrate on how we maximize our profits through this tradition as the world now get more aware of the possibility of halving which will strongly upshoot the demand for the coin.
4173  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: April 17, 2023, 07:52:50 AM

Regardless where we live, money is our top priority in order to survive and thrive. Having enough money to fall back on means we are entitled to more choice and possibilities. Like it or not, we are chasing or being forced to chase money in most phases of our life. Financial freedom has been most people's ultimate goal for decades, if not for centuries. To achieve this goal, we will encounter endless challenges. Each of us has a unique life situation so what is your biggest obstacle to achieving it ? I know we can make a long list of problems but there must be one or two primary reasons that really hold you back. This is where we should focus and I would like to hear your story. Thanks.
Only few percent has enough money, everyone is looking for more money that is why we have a lot of strategy but it is still hard to find because not all strategy is lucky sometimes it can drag us down, just like taking a loan to invest very risky strategy it can drag us more down if we are not lucky. For me the biggest obstacle is the capital, because i don't have a capital to build business to have financial freedom.
In every place there will be some obstacles. Those who go beyond all these obstacles will be able to stand at the doorstep of success. Every human being on earth wants his economic freedom due to which they always struggle. Many have been struggling for a long time for economic independence and many are easily successful there. Here the fate some times works to favor. However, it is true that those who will properly focus on a specific goal he will get the success today or tomorrow.
Well said, everyone needs financial freedom and deserves it as well, but our actions and inactions matter to achieving this goal. Some want it but cannot sacrifice to achieve it, while some will always procrastinate in taking efforts to achieve this. Also, some people are just too lazy, they want money to meet them at their relaxed position which I don't think is possible in this present dispensation unless you are a spoilt brat from a rich family.

Favour doesn't go to an idle hand, it's our efforts that show us to the world which could in turn favours us.
4174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is back testing in trading and how we do it ? on: April 16, 2023, 11:40:02 AM
#Warning: Backtesting doesn't often work for indicators, they will trick you, forwardtesting is better in this regard. But for strategies like Price action, Trendline diagram, Fibonacci retracement and breakout and Elliot wave theory, it will work, but they have to be done manually to be accurate.
Perhaps you should've added that it doesn't work with "lagging" indicators or indicators that repaint and not that backtesting doesn't actually work at all. How does one guage the present and future if one doesn't review the past? It's not possible. This is where backtesting comes in. For me, I started with those MAs, Fibs, MACD, until I discovered they lag. They reflect price after price has moved from that point, and not before it happens. Now I rely more on leading indicators of S&R, Trendlines and Pivots. They lead price action. In conclusion, anyone who wants to take trading seriously should backrest their strategies before hand.
It baffled me when those that need correction like you would be correcting others that need to lecture them. If you must know, I major in trading and I've taught and mentored many over the years. I even have my books about trading, so I don't blab and am not like those that are just trading.

To make it worse, you supported the most confusing "leading indicators" that only dance quickly to the change in price, how naive are you? Also, as a matter of correction, Trendline and Pivot points are not indicators, they are support and resistance levels that translate into strategies. They can only be indicators if you code them to be one, so you need to learn more about trading.

Conclusively, you must know, whether it's a leading or lagging or repainting indicator, they are bad for backtesting, all indicators would fail you because they move relative to the market price. However, my supported strategies (Price action, Trendline, Fibo and Elliot wave) which you wrongly debunked don't. You can depend on them for your historical studies and backtesting. This, I've done many times, so it's practical to me and strange that anyone could state otherwise.
4175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 16, 2023, 08:18:54 AM
Now looking at their match record, this is the 7th match in all competitions that they have gone without a win after last winning against Dortmund in the last 16 of the Champions League in early March.
This is obviously really very bad and about Todd's problem he did have a big enough share of the fall, but on the other hand he was also involved in Chelsea because of internal political problems first and indeed for now Chelsea is really very bad and what they have only problems everywhere, both internally from club management and their current game performance.
The first mistake Todd Boehly did was to sack Thomas Tuchel and some backroom staff were also affected. I will not also blame Todd for investing close to $500m on transfers and signings because he taught he was doing the best thing for the club. He was thinking that good players can always get a good results. Now he knows he made some wrong decisions because sometimes that's not the case. Chelsea's only redemption will come from only the Champions League and I doubt if they can win that trophy. But sometimes luck contributes to the outcome of sporting events so everything is possible.

Graham Potter is the worst loser. He didn't know that Brighton was the lucky team this season. It is a team that is destined to shine this season but he left for a better opportunity that has turned out to be a nightmare.

Graham Potter already made big fortune from the sack he is no loser, I give potter now till the start of next season he will be signed to a new club he is indeed a good coach.
Chelsea will not recover so fast from all of the mistakes of Todd Boehly this nightmares will continue till next season, sacking marina also was such a big mistake, I feel for chelsea fans the issues will continue
What is happening in Chelsea now has proved me right, I never saw the coach as the problem of the club but the total overhauling of the players. Potter is a good and experienced coach, only Chelsea is facing what Man U faced some years ago, they can only come out of it with time. This might take the club at least 2 years to fix, so I never expected Lampard to do any miracle.

The 3 consecutive losses of the guy have now vindicated Potter who should have been given time and more resources to turn the club around.
4176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Signals vs Own Analysis on: April 16, 2023, 07:48:51 AM
I would always prefer using my own analysis to trade the market than choosing to use sigaml to enter the market.
The market is broad and sometimes it is good for us to use what we know to trade the market so that we will know what's happening in the market than going into the market blindly without any idea of what's happening so far.
If we keep using our own strategy, there is a time that we are going to be understanding the market better than before since understanding comes when we keep doing something continually.
Even if you are looking for some trading signals, you should still do an analysis to check how good this signal is. Because if you just copy these signals, you will lose your money. But if we deviate a little from this topic, then I see in my own example that hold brings better results than trading. I'm talking about bitcoin because I'm a long-term invester and I can already see the benefits of my investment, I'm sure that in the future it will be even more significant.
The best is to develop your own trading habits and be independent of anyone, but if you do not have the grace for that, it's not bad to seek external help. It's money we are all looking for, but one must be certain of the source of their information and signals. I've used some top-notch trading signals before I discover myself in the world of trading and I give about three signal providers kudos as their success rate ranges between 85-90% accuracy. I even learned how to trade through their daily trading advice.

This is not about the bullshit of telling you the entry and exit levels. It's about issuing a detailed daily market review and commentary.
4177  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How Russia is surviving NATO-backed sanctions on: April 16, 2023, 07:38:35 AM
First of all, no one seriously expected that country size of Russia collapse after one year of sanctions, like no one expected (expect few haters) that Europeans will freeze to death last winter. I mean, just take a look at North Korea, Cuba and other similar countries, they are under sanctions for decades and yet still somehow their political system survives. Sure they are not in war like Russia is which is way more demanding, but still.

To put it simply, Russia survived and can survive many years of such sanctions because majorify of their people are used to be treated bad and to have generally low quality of life so for them its just business as usual. These sanctions can even help their regime to sell the bullshit how that is another proof that everyone is against them and they have to stick together etc.
I'm with you on this, Russia is feeling the heat, no doubt. But the fact that the country is big and was prospering will not make it have much effect on them soon, but it should be in years. Russia will continue to have their countermeasures, but it should not dare to do more than what they have done in Ukraine now. The country is enjoying the benefits of not being the war location, yet the economic sanction on them will last long and the effect will continue to bite slowly.
4178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Miami 2023 Price Prediction on: April 15, 2023, 08:21:26 AM
Bitcoin Miami is claimed to attract the largest gathering of Bictoin lovers, but this is a summit, it's not a factor for the market to buy or sell. Miami has successfully snatched the conference from Los Angeles which last hosted it in 2021, and this year will be nice too as they discuss more on the much-anticipated halving.

As they did in 2022, they will continue to discuss blockchain technology and how to improve on it. There might be other lovely extras but that could only be ascertained when the program is nearer (May 18).
4179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 15, 2023, 07:57:14 AM
Bologna hosts Milan. It will be a difficult match for both teams but bologna is one step ahead in this match.Because milan will have both the champions league challenge to play in the week and bologna is playing well at home and I must say that they have been doing well in recent weeks. For this reason, it is highly likely that we will see a lot of goals in the match because both teams will play open football. For Milan, the champions league match seems to be more important. They will not want to give the round when they won the first match 1-0.

As AC Milan has been performing erratically in Serie A, it will be challenging for them to beat the Bologna team. The performances of Bologna players have been very consistent in the last few matches. Bologna is unbeaten in their last four matches. They even beat teams like Atalanta. As it is Bologna's home match. They will definitely want to perform well and win this match. The match is likely to be a draw. Milan is a strong team but their performance cannot be relied upon. Enjoying this match will probably be boring. Both teams may be seen playing defensive tactics.
I will still give AC Milan the benefit of the doubt to win this match but you are right about their bad performances of late, it's doubtful to bet on them today. This is particularly as they are in their away match, it will be tough but they might still win. Also, the performance of Bologna is better than theirs in the last 5 games, but no one can tell, the narrative could be changed as AC Milan also know what is at stake.

What is back testing in trading and how we do it ?
Backtesting is the review of past events with your current trading strategies and plans to ascertain if they could truly work or not. Traders backtest with their indicators and other devised trading approaches directly from the trading platform. This could be done manually or automatically depending on the provision on the trading platform. For this, you would have to learn from your broker's/exchange's platform what they make available for you.

#Warning: Backtesting doesn't often work for indicators, they will trick you, forwardtesting is better in this regard. But for strategies like Price action, Trendline diagram, Fibonacci retracement and breakout and Elliot wave theory, it will work, but they have to be done manually to be accurate.
