4161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Already More Valuable Than Many National Currencies on: November 06, 2017, 10:12:05 PM
Bitcoin's actual price is above 7000$, there is no national fiat currency even near to this price. Even gold is a lot less than this price actually. So Bitcoin nowadays is one from the most valuable currencies and assets worldwide.
Bitcoin has a very limited quantity. You can't compare prices directly the way you do.
4162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 06, 2017, 10:11:33 PM
Have had a very small amount of these I bought a while ago.  I just decided to buy 2K worth seeing the ATH was 4X where it is now and the fact they have a VISA Card now.  Isnt that a pretty big deal to have a card you can use anywhere?  I would think price would really surge after such an announcement.
It would've surged if they didn't can the asset contract, which was the only reason a lot of investors joined in the first place.

Still think this has any legs ?  Saw a recent pump.  Seems like hitting 2X would be pretty doable if not more over time.
Probably. Most people don't care about honesty or good products in crypto. If MonaCo was a company on the stock market it would plummet into the ground after its announcement of dropping dividends without even trying to find a replacement until investors complained about it. But in crypto it will probably go back up soon, because people don't even know what they are buying. They see big names like "VISA" and think they'll get rich if they buy it. Complete and utter lunacy if you ask me.
4163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Already More Valuable Than Many National Currencies on: November 06, 2017, 10:07:09 PM

Gaining ground. Do you have a link to the full list?

Full list is here: http://lopp.net/m1/rank.html It seems that Bitcoin was additionally added since it's missing on the original list. Waiting to see it in top 5  Grin
Top 5 on this older data seems like it might actually be possible some years down the road. Keep in mind that this is only M1 though.
4164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: November 06, 2017, 10:05:24 PM
DogeCoin may finally update the 2 years old code and have segwit soon — Tai Zen is organizing a professional company to update the code and developing DOGECOIN NOW. DOGECOIN WILL WENT TO $0.86 SOON.
https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/7b5cn8/i_had_a_dream_dogecoin_went_to_086/
Does actually DOGE need segwit? Transfer speed and tx cost are low already, and there is no bottleneck in the chain as far as I'm aware...
I could be wrong, but isn't that due to vastly lower usage volume than Bitcoin and Ethereum have?
Indeed it is, capacity for a standard coin will likely never hit that of bitcoin - If I remember correctly, the main capacity issue with bitcoin was caused by somebody (likely a miner) filling every block with transactions pinging between two accounts to force an increase in the tx fee, (I'll see if I can find the article).
I remember reading about people spamming the blockchain, but I always assumed it was due to all the faucet websites and micropayments. Had no idea that miners deliberately screwed with the blockchain this much too...

4166  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming, copy and paste spam monkeys on: November 06, 2017, 09:50:29 PM
Can't we just ban campaign managers who don't blacklist these types of spammers though?

Someone who just posts phrases completely void of any information shouldn't be getting paid, since they are actively creating a bad image around crypto and the projects they are supposed to promote with their actions.

It would be a bit excessive IMO. They aren't guilty of paying people to spam. They are guilty of neglecting their job as managers and not monitoring users like they should be.
If people are spamming they are negatively impacting the campaign and through it the business that paid for this campaign.
It's not like campaign managers have to get banned straight off when a spammer gets through the sieve every now and then. But they should be held accountable in some way if they repeatedly proceed payments for spammers. It seems like the easiest way to solve the issue, since there are far less managers than spamming accounts.
It's going to be difficult to stop spamming without stopping the root cause of it, which are the monetary rewards that these spammers get.

I have proposed that badly run campaigns have their entire threads trashed and possibly accounts banned for those that do nothing about spam and pay hundreds-unlimited users for whatever crap they can be bothered to churn out, but as usual nothing is done about it. If there's no repercussions for laziness or ineptitude then why would anyone bother to actually do any hard work when they don't need to? The forum is a sinking ship just circling the drain at this point and if something doesn't change quick there's only one place it'll go.

The bad guys they spam more and more frantic, I do not understand why not banned them all.  Huh Huh Huh

It's tedious, time-consuming and thankless work banning people which is ultimately pointless when people just evade their ban on half a dozen alt accounts and shit campaigns continue to pay them to do so, but many accounts are banned once spotted, such as yourself. Your entire post history here consists of one or two line shitposts posted purely for payment and from what I can see you have contributed absolutely nothing of value.
I agree with the sinking ship assessment, which is why I tried to bring something up in this thread as well. Hopefully something will be done about this problem soon, since it would be sad to see Bitcointalk become a wasteland.

I'm not really sure what else could be done though, since making the banning of lazy managers and/or spammers desirable would actually require a monetary reward of some sort if it's supposed to be sustainable. But who would actually put out for that if not the campaign runners themselves?

Perhaps if it was required to make a small payment to the admins to even be able to advertise an ICO, which then would be a kind of "service charge" to ban lazy managers from managing (if not posting) and spammers from spamming, we might get somewhere.

That could also lower the amount of blatant scams.

What do you think?
4167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves hold for longterm Good or Not? on: November 06, 2017, 09:44:33 PM
IMHO, Waves is a good choice specially for long term but you should avoid putting all your eggs on this basket! Wink

I agree with you.

At the moment WAVES dropped to $2.8 few days ago, I converted 8% of my portfolio to WAVES and managed to buy it at $2.84-$2.91. Now I sold 1/2 for 20+% profit and put another buying order @2.8. I will hold the rest for at least few months as I believe the price will pass $5 in earlier 2018.

However, you are right about all eggs - always have a wide portfolio.
Be careful about having a "too wide" portfolio though. There are a lot of people who assume that diversification means buying as many assets as possible. That's not the case though. It's better to have a few really strong assets than a lot of mediocre ones. So it always pays to do extremely thorough research on every investment.

Correct! Diversification is not simply a strategy, it is a must for investment. However, your basket of eggs should be carefully selected, you shouldn't simply buy 10 different coins without having any real justification other than to diversify. I have even been tempted to take 1-2% into "gamble" coins but I've lost money before and am in this too long term to take the risk again.

More than 60% of my portfolio is in alts, as I have been diversifying bitcoin out. I try to keep fiat perspective to see that I didn't actually lose that much money yet, but can't help it of course since I bought them all with BTC.

My eggs are all long term now so I'm ready for a long waiting game, will be a long time before I dip into another alt, but not going to further thin out my %s just for the sake of more diversification!
Just the usual swings. And 1-10% in "ultra low market cap" coins that at least have a sound idea might work well. 10% is not large enough to really dent your profits if the rest of your portfolio is well picked, but it's enough to add quite a nice bonus if just one of your "ultra high risk coins" goes to the moon.
4168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble or Not? on: November 06, 2017, 09:40:28 PM
In early stages of bitcoin we had sharp drops but now everything is different then ever. we will not see a bubble things again.
community is more strong then other commodities.

We'll see lots of bubbles in the altcoin market. I don't think that Bitcoin will have any major crashes like the 2-3 year period after the first 1k ATH again though.

This is quite early to predict that. When Bitcoin reached the ATH of $2.8K, it declined to $1.8K after few days back in July. So Bitcoin is still isn't mature enough to be considered stable investment.
Currently it's enjoying boom period but such high pace rise may be a resultant of too much speculative activities. So situation may come that some opposed news could break this ladder and Bitcoin decline back dramatically.
I didn't say it's a stable investment. It's one of the most volatile assets in existence right now. But it's unlikely that it will crash significantly for large amounts of time due to the increase in public awareness and interest.

No doubt it's public awareness is increasing notably. But still I feel due to continuous rise in price, a speculative layer of price has been developed around Bitcoin. This layer could easily broke if Bitcoin faces any kind of negative FUD. Hence as a result, price may decline 10-20% easily.
Also this pace of rise may meet saturation point soon enough which is much needed for long term sustainability of prices.
A drop of 10-20% is nothing in crypto though. If Bitcoin goes up 500% and drops 20% nobody in their right mind would care about the drop. And that's what I meant when I said it won't significantly crash for long periods of time, regardless of FUD. There are too many people involved now.

The continuous growth of bitcoin's price increases the number of investors. It is now known to social media and was legally accepted by many countries. Its negative issues never blown the trust of people who holds it. In fact, there are big companies which give their fully support on cryptocurrency. I can say that it is now in bubble inspite of many hindrances.
The growth of the cryptocurrency system made me remember the bubble of dot com in the past. In my opinion, the bubble of Bitcoin just beginning, but we need to be careful because it does not mean the bubble growth of Bitcoin will not burst soon.
You can't compare Bitcoin itself to the dot com bubble at all, they're completely different things.

Now ICOs on the other hand, are very much like penny stocks and the dot com bubble and a lot of people will burn themselves really hard in the coming months and years due to greed and laziness.

What most people don't seem to get however, is the fact that even with penny stocks and the dot com bubble there were quite a few winners. All you have to do is learn from the past and identify what has value and what does not. It's really not that hard.
4169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Vezt ICO w/ 100% bonus. 15mm Hard cap. Dr. Dre Lawyer... 5x-10x easy. on: November 06, 2017, 09:37:43 PM
Done two which supposedly had good bonuses (50% extra for early involvement) still dropped below ico price at the beginning!

I normally never do ICOs. I just wait it out and see what happens on exchanges. However, this one is different. The people behind it and the fact they have ip rights to mainstream songs already for their platform just surprises me. Normally with ICOs I see a bunch of nobodies backing it.

This also has a great idea and it sounds like it could be very profitable for ISO investors.

I'm in the same boat, but still couldn't find if there were any pre ICO bonuses and what they were, so it's hard for me to judge what to do.

Rich should eat less and share with poor!
Or maybe the poor should stop having kids until they can actually afford to sustain them. It's completely irresponsible and cruel to have children when you know that there is a very high chance that they will either starve to death or die of aids.
4172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 06, 2017, 09:31:34 PM
nice to see the update, can't wait this december to see the beggining of SONM, also I think all this bitcoin pump will end at this time so we should go up verry fast
Yes, I'm expecting a big rally after the Segwit fork in November.

SONM and every altcoins will boom after hardfork
so just hodl and be patient

What is your forecast, how badly the btc/eth price will fall if fall, and in % ratio what will be the raise for alts? Interested in your opinion. Thank you

To be honest, read about SONM and just think why it is better from competitors, what does it have in order to choose it, anyone can advise? I'm just new and thinking to invest in something connected to cloud technology. Thanks
Check the website or whitepaper, there was a comparison table somewhere that outlines some advantages.

On top of those, SONM has been very focused on developing its platform and always delivered updates on time so far. They also just released an updated roadmap with new info.

And from an investing perspective, their coin is still heavily undervalued, especially when compared with other projects like Golem. Just catching up would generate more profits than Golem could in the same amount of time from this entry point. And once SONM catches up it will be hard for Golem to keep up based on the features alone.

Well, I saw that pic and was not impressed looked like, all  projects can't do anything, and it sounds a bit suspicious. If to compare distributed clouds I think that  RLC can do much more from the technical side but we will see, maybe all these negative gossips around devs influenced on my opinion.
There is no negative gossip. Unless you are referring to zero activity FUD accounts that try to manipulate public opinions. SONM has been actively working very hard, which is something that most crypto projects can't even try to claim.
4173  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: November 06, 2017, 09:29:56 PM
I don't think so. Yes it's good thing that cryptocurrency was develop, but it was not made to replace paper fiat or cash, instead it was develop to reinforce currency as we know it and to introduce alternative ways. Besides, not all people can readily accepts a society without cash. I also believe that it will create more problems than solutions if we totally extinct cash.
Bitcoin was specifically created to replace fiat money due to the corruption that centralization promotes.

Ah that makes sense now. Sure it is made for that purpose and I don’t think adapting the crypto currencies is as easy task as it looks like. No matter what how big government or powerful country take into consideration but this will never work out because people will go insane with the use of it.

Fiat are regulated and kept in limits and as required by the nation that’s why there is perfect balance of economy. Otherwise we will start seeing the economic crisis within the country after each month. Yeah that can happen for sure if things are not in the regulatory hands.

Decbtralsied currency or okay in the wallet and exchangers but not in the reality. Whatever this country creates will be really autonomous and it won’t be perfect crypto.

May be pseudo-crypto for instance.
There is no "perfect balance of economy".

The economy is getting fucked repeatedly precisely because fiat money introduces artificial imbalances that are created by profiteers such as bankers.

And again, that is precisely why Bitcoin was created, so manipulation couldn't trigger economic collapse in the likes of the great depression, the housing crisis, etc.

If anyone's looking to sell some NVO I'll buy @ 7000 Satoshis each. Send me a PM. We can use an escrow or you can send first.

I'm looking for 1285 NVST @ 7000 Satoshis = BTC0.09.

You do know that NVST is selling for a lot more money than that on Counterparty exchange, right? Why would anyone want to sell the NVST for a fraction of its current value? If you find someone who's willing to give away their NVST at that price, I'm willing to buy 6K NVST at that same price, but only through the exchange. It's the only safe way to buy crypto.
You could always use an escrow. And counterparty doesn't work for me by the way, I tried sweeping with no luck several times.

i used this tool and it worked: https://github.com/Jpja/Sweep-XCP-Paperwallet

i wasent able to sweep with the wallet neither.
Thanks, I'll try that if the wallet doesn't come out in the coming week.

Hi. I understand that you can earn sonm tokens by providing/connecting you computer to the sonm network. If so, can someone provide a link to how can I archive this? Or is that even possible right now? Thank you.
yes you can earn sonm token by providing/connecting to sonm network
i think its not just computer its about GPU power or your mining rig providing/connecting to sonm computer and then they will pay you in sonm tokens
but right now i don't know about the procedure. i thin its beta release is already out if you search about that then you will get it
Do you know if we will be able to mine in August already?

How can affect the price News in November, when they will be? Personally, I do not really think and hope the price increase in the near future. It may increase the price but do not think that this will be a strong growth at this time.

The price will increase but not at this time as you said. They just now announced visa approval so it will need more time to see the affect. Maybe if people already receive their card, we can see the affect that this coin price can growing rapidly
How can the price increase when they removed the asset contract? Every serious investor who invested any substantial amount of money joined because of dividends and they just removed it. Until this is addressed in a proper way there is no reason to buy back.

Why are you silent after I asked you to provide your addresses. And I'll tell you. Because you have not collected anything and you are scammers. Here are the addresses to which they ask on their website to transfer funds in order to buy their Token. Bitcoin address 1D8B3fEKdNLsAA9geSRqHx5D76VPgkxwcG and Ether 0x5faaa0Db39EeD976ea17F4bFE493E1Adb21C5C94/ Decide how much they collected the funds and what they have indicated on the site. You can check it yourself. Scammers))

I am not silent, just wanted to be decent though you sound impatient here and on upfront these addresses you mentioned are not the main wallets. We have subwallets, paypal and many other sources.
As a protocol and process, we are currently being audited by different companies and top exchanges which resist us to share such info publicly.
I will soon share webinar link here, wherein you can join and learn about progress on platform we are working. You can also find status and stage of product.
To be precise we have resources available their to answer any query coming from you in technical aspects.
It doesn't matter if those wallets are main or subwallets. If they belong to you, they should've gotten at least some inbound or outbound transaction if you really raised $11m already.

Not to mention the fact that you keep avoiding questions.

Where are the addresses that hold the $11m?
4179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you surprise by bitcoin price now? on: November 06, 2017, 04:38:07 PM
Yes, people are scared of Bitcoin now. It become more and more popular and big investors are entering the market. So the price will rise even further with all the big players. At the point Bitcoin will be accepted as a payment method in some countries, it will go to the moon. It may take some years but it will happen I think.
well i think everyone  is really get surprise  by the bitcoin price today because it is really rising in short period of time the price of bitcoin is really  amazing it can really change your life and youre lifestyle in terms of  financia aspects but we really need to make mote patience on btc because we can never know what happen in the next month  or a year.

Well I am not surprised because i knew that bitcoin is unstable if you don't know what this means i can explain. Bitcoin is unstable so it can rise up and go down very hard in a short time.

This is the basic rule of bitcoin so you must not be surprised when you see a price change in bitcoin.
Assets don't follow any simple rule. There is never a fix determinator that will tell you what the price will do in the future.

Not touching another ICO. I'll buy when it hits the exchange below ICO price.
Just check bonuses and anticipate the movements, that's how people multiply their initial ICO investment.
