I know there are guides on the minerd thing, but seriously, it pisses me off that everyone thinks people know how to use windows command line.
windows key - R -> cmd -> type in your stuff then press enter It infuriates me because I can never get it to work and there are no guides on how to create bat files, etc. just a f'in joke.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+create+.bat+fileWhen people right guides for this, you need to include EVERY step no assumptions.
ok, so we're going to move our mouse in the direction you want the pointer to move in. should it pass the point you would like to click, move in the reverse direction Anyway, sorry about the rant, but I seriously had an easier time configuring linux for bitcoin than I have getting any of this windows cmd line shit to work. Namecoin, etc. it's all bullshit.
you can't have everything spoonfed to you. if you're going to use a computer, you're gonna have to learn some stuff. unless you're using a mac So, I didn't see anything at the pool website, but how do you configure windows GUI miner to point it at this pool? Host name, username, etc. most pools even provide you with a copy paste .bat file.

after catalyst 11.12 (no more 100% cpu), my hashrate increased to around 2.35 khash/s per thread. but still not near your 10-12 khash/s I call shenanigans. No more 100% CPU even with multiple GPUs?

In case you're unaware, the V next to a transaction means it has 6 confirmations. When it has less there are different icons, and hovering over it displays the exact number of confirmations. It takes less horizontal space than the confirmations listing in the old GUI.
wouldn't it be better to make the slightly row greyed out? and on mouseover, tell how many confirmations are needed?

So, out of curiosity, what are you going to call the pool next December or January? Welcome to the pool club!

i use same miner on amd athlon2 and amd phenom6 i get ~3Khash/per thread so the athlon gets me ~6 phenom ~18 this is at standard clocks ets, i say ~ because reported hashrate fluctuates on these maths your 4 core should be at least 10 and close to 12 I also just did a post at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=54620.msg650745#msg650745 that answers some of your other questions mine is a phenom (NOT II), so maybe it doesn't have optimizations that the newer ones have? btw, what miner do you use? and on what OS? after catalyst 11.12 (no more 100% cpu), my hashrate increased to around 2.35 khash/s per thread. but still not near your 10-12 khash/s

With $599, $3.10/BTC, $0.115/KWh, 830 MH/s, 80 W, and current difficulty (1155038), it will take 9.75 months to pay off an investment in BitForce Singles. I want a warranty that assures me the hardware will last at least that long.
BFL: Please consider offering a 1 year warranty, perhaps for a small additional fee if you must.
warranty isn't going to help if they're not going to honor it

It's way more messy than the original client, and each gui element takes up way too much space. and it doesn't remember the layout once i close it. But I do like some of the features, like the loading screen and data exporting.

avoid running minerd on windows altogether, even if it runs it tends to be much slower
but what's the net gain in performance? virtualization will surely carry a lot of overhead.

my total hashrate (by adding up the rates from each thread) is about 7.4 khash/s, on a 2.3 ghz cpu (AMD Phenom quad core)

Note, I'm not a lawyer and this should not be taken as legal advice, but here's the answer to your question...
Corporate registry in any state requires a local address of record. Certain states (Delaware and Wyoming are good examples) have worked hard to create attractive corporate taxation policy. They do this mostly by not taxing assets or profit as long as they're out of state. However, since an in state address must be provided for yearly filings and correspondence (minutes of record, board meetings, charter renewal etc) to maintain the legal body active and healthy from year to year, a registered agent specializing in these interactions is commonly retained. This keeps the corporate assets and profits, which are out of state, free from in state taxation. I think a casual review of business norms would reverse any thoughts about this being a murky practice. It's simply how business is done and also why the vast majority of the US fortune 500 are registered in either Wyoming or Delaware.
Regards, BFL
Like I said, just claiming a registration belongs to you isn't enough. You can say you own xyz.com all you want, but unless you do something to prove that you actually control that domain (update whois or add a subdomain), no one will believe you. The same applies to business registrations. You need to provide definitive proof that you control the registration. I also find it odd that you are suddenly replying to this concern, considering this was brought up over a month ago.

too lazy to search through 70+ pages of thread. so i'll ask some knowledgeable forum member :p I'm currently using: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=47417.0on AMD Phenom quad core processor windows 7 x64 Is this the optimum miming setup for my system? if not, what are some alternatives? there's another post that says to mine on a ubuntu vm to get faster speeds. does that really work?

The legal entity is BF Labs Inc. which is a Wyoming corporation. We operate under the brand entity Butterfly Labs with related dba filings underway for the various permutations of that name. Any formal interaction with the company such as purchases and communication clearly states BF Labs Inc. Here is the official entry in the Wyoming state corporate registry : https://wyobiz.wy.gov/Business/FilingDetails.aspx?FilingNum=2011-000606261Care to explain why it's registered under Nancy Hernandez? I hate to call you a liar, but what's preventing you from claiming that is your registration when it's not really yours? I can make up a site called xyz inc, and all i have to do is find a company with a similar name and i'm "registered". Why don't you update the registration to reflect your real address or provide another way to verify that registration is yours?

He did not say he had 10yrs of BitForce related experiance. He said he (he being who he works for/as/with) has about ten years of experiance with hardware building boards
learned circuits in grade 10 10 years later, "10 years of experience"

2. Inside a tent (to prevent spys with fancy camera, spy satellites, etc) in a large field boot Live CD and run vanitygen
lol, what if the cd was tampered with? what if the cd burning software was tampered with? better idea: 1. go to github via https with triple AES 512 2. download source code 3. look at how the private/public keys are generated 4. use Schrödinger's cat to generate random data for keys (THE DICES ARE INFECTED!11!1) 5. execute the code in your head (WHAT IF INTEL/AMD RIGGED THE CHIPS?!?!?!)
