4161  Local / India / Re: [GUY FAWKES DAY RAFFLE] #8 - Pick a lucky number and win 0.001 bitcoin on: December 16, 2020, 04:09:27 PM
With an all time high nearing, our forum will most likely be experiencing huge influx of Indian newbies to claim signature campaigns and bounties and it is our responsibility to turn them into constructive users in the forthcoming months. As of today, the price is around $14,900 ~ ₹11,00,000 per bitcoin which is a huge rise since the last raffle and the winner would be receiving ₹1,100.

About the Game :

3. The person who has chosen the correct character wins the prize amount of 0.001BTC (Please note that 0.001BTC is kinda cheaper but in terms of our economy it costs around 1,100 INR which is much better)

Well, make that 1580 INR since the All Time High is now broken and we are heading towards another All Time High.
I would like to congratulate to everybody in the crypto community for being a part of this wonderful journey.

This is almost too incredible to be true.  Shocked This lucky guy must have been jumping in the air!
Hopefully I'll be so lucky someday too.
At least every week I have far more tickets for the lottery... Cheesy
Not only him but also this guy below with 72 tickets must be having a luck day. I wish I was a luck as these guys but unfortunately I am not.
Anyway, it's good to see that there are such people to win big. I just hope these guys are aware of their winnings and don't probably shut their account anytime soon  Grin

4163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you manage Bitcoin price risk? on: December 14, 2020, 04:15:04 PM
With great profits comes greater risks. I don't have to manage price risk because I am a long term hodler.
I am estimating to hold at least for next 15 - 20 years provided bitcoin is not attacked by someone or something unexpected happens.
I wonder how much bitcoin would increase in price by then  Grin
Yes, I know we have lots of opportunities to increase our capital if we trade in the swings but I have tried that and it didn't work for me well.
I lost more than I gained and so I decided to hold for long term and so far it's going good.

How's the cryptocurrency betting going on guys?

One question I would like to ask is that why is there no 'Ethereum price December' bet this time?
Theres's 'Bitcoin price 2020' and there's 'Ethereum price 2020'. There's 'Bitcoin price December' but there's no 'Ethereum price December'.
Besides, every month used to have bets for bitcoin as well as Ethereum. I wonder what's wrong this time  Huh

Anyone knows what freebitco.in is up to ?
4165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [D-8] Bitcoin is getting 3 major upgrades - Schnorr, Taproot and Tapscript on: December 14, 2020, 01:06:29 PM
I first got to know about Taproot when I was attending my first ever meet on the 'Bitcoin Core PR Review Club'. The first meeting was great and I got to know a lot of insightful thoughts.
Then I researched what Taproot is all about and how it will increase privacy in bitcoin transactions. Then I got to know that it will also change from the tradition ECDSA to Schnorr signatures.
The fascinating thing is there's nobody to oppose these upgrades like how people had a huge debate over the SegWit upgrade.
A good number of mining pools have already started showing support for the upgrade. (List of pools supporting Taproot upgrade : https://taprootactivation.com/ )

I tried searching, but I did not find any old promotional emails.  Only payment confirmations.  Anyway, it looks like we will receive these promotional emails with free spin every day, I already have two 50 sats.

Yup that's right. I have been using the free spin on the Wheel of Fortune for 3 consecutive days now and got the following results.

1st day - 50 lottery tickets
2nd day - 50 Satoshis
3rd day - 50 Satoshis

I wonder what's in for tomorrow  Grin

I have received till now 2 mails and on clicking those free spins end up getting both days 50 lottery tickets. If happen to be among top 10 then might just end up winning some few satoshis which is not bad at all and worth it. Will now roll tomorrow try out luck if it changes or will it be hattrick of 50 lottery tickets. Waiting for some better fortune with the wheel of fortune game.

LMAO but it seems like you won't be getting 50 lottery tickets today because guess what, I received the 50 lottery tickets today.
I am getting an intuition that you would receive something other than the 50 lottery tickets.  Grin
Let me know what you receive today  Tongue

-sniped-

Are you looking for a way to play " for free " or do you just fill those surveys out of curiousity? If you are looking for some dust money , instead of filling all those survey you should just follow roobet's telegram channel ( Roobet gives coupon code on other social media account as well but its kinda random unlike in telegram which is daily ). These coupon codes give $0.15 and it literally takes seconds for you to get instead of filling those

I just noticed the same thing too, I tried to do the free play but I feel that the reward for the survey isn't worth it.

Yep totally not. 1 point = 1 cent. You could easily get few cents from rain in the chatroom
I was just doing the survey to see if it actually works and if it would then I would get a small amount to have fun with.
Thanks for the tip. I have now joined their telegram channel. I see that Roobet keeps on bringing new events.
4169  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Cryptos Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: December 12, 2020, 03:30:30 PM
I started a survey (bottom most on below screenshot) and the survey started. I filled up all the details and everything was right up until that point.
~snip
Are you new to such a thing?  Maybe you have just tried to answer the survey offered by third parties.  The answers you put in the details are your profile, which means that when no one matches the result, your profile does not qualify or they are not looking for you to answer the available survey.  So next time, do not be disappointed because it happens naturally or normally, that is no longer surprising for those who know and have experienced that.
There were so many questions I thought it was the survey itself. I didn't know that it was for the profile and not the actual survey.
I am not new to this though, I did try filling many surveys back when I was new to the internet world to earn a side income and as expected all of them were fake.
4170  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: December 12, 2020, 03:00:04 PM
Does the "Free Play" option on Roobet even work ?
I tried the "Free Play" on Roobet today and was really disappointed  Cry

I started a survey (bottom most on below screenshot) and the survey started. I filled up all the details and everything was right up until that point.
Just when the survey was completed the website showed me that the survey did not exactly matched their requirements.
I was like why did they ask me to complete the survey then ?
Then another survey popped up without any action from me and I thought let's give it a try again.
I filled in all the details again and same as the last time when the survey was completed it displayed that the survey did not exactly matched their requirements.
I just got frustrated and closed the browser.

4172  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Why not use Chainanalysis to see your privacy score on: December 12, 2020, 02:45:14 PM
I don't know if it already exists but why can't we use chainanalysis technique to see if our privacy score is good or bad.
I did try using a chainanalysis once on some website but it was paid (seems that it was earlier free) . Why can't there be a free one now ?

How to achieve it ?

We can have a website or tool that performs chainanalysis on a particular bitcoin address and gives the output as a rating from 1 to 10 (bad to good) and 'may be' also list the connected addresses.
We can have the option whether we want to list the connected addresses or not.

Now comes the question that what if people use it wrongly and input someone else's bitcoin address to see their connected addresses.
For this we can use a signed message with specific format so that the website/tool can verify that we own the bitcoin address and are not using someone else's address.
The format could be something like this

The website/tool can display a message "'short message' + current time + OTP generated at that time(valid for few minutes)" - we should be signing the message with this format only
This way people won't be able to use old  signed messages of other people to wrongly use their bitcoin addresses.

If our privacy score is good then no worries but what if our privacy score is real bad ?
I only one way to overcome this solution and that is to use mixing services. Can anybody else suggest some good methods ?

4173  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best thing which I noticed of this forum. on: December 12, 2020, 01:42:52 PM
What you just said is most appropriately true. The forum is filled with all type of members ranging from high ranked who make low quality posts to low ranked members who strive to make constructive posts. Some are here for money, some for knowledge and some for both. It depends on the individual though. What I like about this forum is there are a good number of people here who actively contribute towards the forum and help newbies to learn more. Besides, this is what one should do. Learn and let learn is the motive of many.
This is the best thing because this is how the right knowledge of bitcoin and the blockchain technology is spread throughout the world.
4174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: so if the fed printing money and btc goes up genius idea here on: December 11, 2020, 04:50:28 PM
At first, I was like what crap is this but by the end of your post I understood what your sarcasm meant  Grin Grin
On a serious note, feds printing money (for whatever reason) is just decreasing USD value and will definitely increase Inflation.
The side effects of such huge printing of money out of thin air will soon be realized as inflation kicks in and everything becomes more costlier.
Bitcoin is not increasing in price as pooya87 said, instead the fiat money is sinking in value.
4175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin failed? on: December 11, 2020, 04:11:50 PM
None. Because not a single person I know in my city even invests in general. Just consumerism everywhere. Does that make certain assets such as gold and stocks a failure as well?

Good point. Adding to this, the regular Joe is manipulated by media that bitcoin is scamcoin and probably holds all his amount in a bank.
The regular Joe doesn't takes up the motive to read what bitcoin is all about.

I am pretty damn sure that if everybody in the world reads or knows what bitcoin actually is then they would rather consider holding bitcoin than holding money in banks.

No, not at all. If you look at CNBC and Bloomberg they pump it at a daily basis. They have guests on that are either very positive or at worst neutral to BTC. They have bought it and now they want to make a profit.
When was the last time (before this bull run) you heard these news channels promoting bitcoin ?
In the last 2.5 years I have only seen the media criticizing bitcoin. No wonder why they are promoting it now because bitcoin has rallied upwards.
They want to grab the attention of people which is why they bring in big players to speak about bitcoin.

4177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: December 11, 2020, 03:55:03 PM
Wow, a very good decision and it's quite motivational. This could be my new year resolution.  Smiley
I have been wasting money on smoking too. Let this year be the last and by the start of 2021 I will try my best not to smoke and save as much as I can to invest in bitcoin.
I am sure this thread will motivate many people like me to quit their bad habits and start saving to invest in something more valuable.
4178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips to know when trading your cryptos . on: December 11, 2020, 03:46:43 PM
You should move this thread to 'Trading Discussion'

A nice guide for beginners. But one thing I would like to mention is that not all exchanges which doesn't require KYC are not secure enough.
We have Decentralized exchanges (DEX) which doesn't require KYC but is still many people's choice.

The best thing for beginners would be to store their cryptocurrencies in non custodial wallet and only put a little amount in exchanges for active trading.
4179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Four Years of Living on Bitcoin Alone. Can You Beat That? Is that even possible? on: December 10, 2020, 04:46:28 PM
Although it is possible, it is still a very difficult task to solely live on Bitcoin alone for 4 years. We all know that bitcoin is not yet adopted worldwide and this is where the real trouble starts.
Even though if we convert all our holdings to bitcoin, we will face trouble when using it on day to day basis. What if I wanna buy a coffee ? Would I pay for Coffee and pay as much as the price of Coffee or more than that as a transaction fees ?
No right, I wonder how those guys made it through. I could have never done that
4180  Local / India / Re: Do you have a KYC verified account on Indian exchanges - read this! on: December 10, 2020, 02:23:26 PM
But isn't it good because this will regulate crypto trading to some extent?

Exactly! If government is planning to tax the income from trading cryptocurrencies it means they won't ban it or declare it illegal.
That's a good news. But yeah, I know it might not sound that good to pay 30% of the income as a tax.

Besides that one thing I would like to ask is what if the annual income is not under the taxable bracket ?
Would the government still tax the income from cryptocurrencies ?

What's say @webtricks ?
