how much is an upset gf worth???
I cranked upset gf into my BTC calculator. Using modified assumptions of $500/BTC exchange rate, 12% per bump every 12 days, $0.10/KWR power, $0.95/GHS investment in hardware and a 85W/GHS efficiency rating, it turns out that today, an upset gf is worth precisely 43% of an upset wife.

but that is an avg gf against an avg wife

you need 3 scales of gf against 3 scales of wife.

poor -normal - good    to poor-normal-good

a good gf  being upset  is  worth almost 95% of a poor wife being upset.

would be higher but a fully upset poor wife has a huge downside ---- alimony / child care.

(tongue firmly planted in my cheek)

Would this have to connect through a computer with software, or would it work to wire the ethernet cable to a router? (Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with the finer details of mining...)

Would also like to know this^^^

Do these mine as standalone units?

Edit.

This is on Friedcats first post about these:-

You can type 192.168.0.254:8000/FlashMega on your web browser to update to the
newest firmware on each hashing unit (no internet connection is needed). After that
you can type 192.168.0.254:8000 to access the configuration page.

So it looks as though they are standalone units?
One friedcat's Ethernet controller unit can handle up to 8 tubes.
You can just connect it via your router

Seems to be like the s-1 or the s-3  .  which means a simple cat 5 switch to the router if your router is port challenged .  I have a few s-3's.

so my router plugs into this

http://www.rakuten.com/prod/tp-link-tl-sg1016d-16-port-gigabit-switch/218839606.html

these switches are studs really nice gear.

Keeping in mind that # is a comment only, wouldn't it be better to have the comment contain hashing speed and expected watts?

Doesn't something like this

#option 'freq_value'   '1406'     #513GH/s  420W
#option 'chip_freq'     '256.25'
#option 'timeout'       '15'

end up being more useful than a comment with the frequency, when its listed under chip_freq already?

#option 'freq_value'   '1406'     # freq 256.25M  gives 513gh/s uses 420watts
#option 'chip_freq'     '256.25'
#option 'timeout'       '15'

Comments should be useful, right?

see bolded  above

may as well be fully clear with a comment ..  we forget that there are full newbies.

long windy but clear.

what I do like is we now have a lot to pick from

I bought that 699 deal too I might buy another I get paid tomrow if the deal is still out there

I think that's nice deal and it could ROI In 2 months as long as Titan is delayed as I expect it will be

seems like they have a new deal a war machine 54 MHz for 599 not sure if that's a good deal since it costs 4.41 to host

latewidow deal expired.... Sad

4.41/day is too high for 54mhz...you can better buy another x6 42mhz if there is a new deal.

yeah he is in and out with deals lately.  blink your eyes and they are gone.

right now the zen web site is down.  as is the talk site.

From the specs, it says:

Powering: 1-2 6pin PCI-E plugs per hashing unit.
A full set of device consists of: 4 hashing Units

So: What PSU do you recommend for this puppy ??
Is there even one with 8 PCI-e ?
Do the PCI-e in CHAIN count for 2 ?

1 is enough. 2 is for safety in case you don't have good cables, 2 also brings less cable power loss.

Thanks! But still; I need a PSU with at least 4 PCI-e. Which one?
Also: Does the 1 cable wit 2 PCI-e count as 2 REAL connectors ? Becaus the'r in chain though ...

a cheap psu is a no go.  here is a good one.

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-1300G2-ATX12V-120-G2-1300-XR/dp/B00COIZTZM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408066862&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+1300

has power to spare it is 189  and here is a  rebate form.

http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/00/00/56/94/63/11/5694631110._V345065786_.pdf

20 off you are at 169.  has six cables power to spare.  has a magic psu short plug not a paperclip.

my guess is this will do the trick,  not that dogie's rm1000 is bad.  but price is equal and these have been studs for lots of miners..

if you can beat the price with the rm1000 it will work fine.

Count me in for one. Will send funds this evening. Can I hold off on shipping label until you figure out the right box size?

So far all of us have held off on the label.  At least I think that is correct.

If you are close to him they will fit in a regional c box.

lol the night shot looks cool, I don't think I would sleep at night though with the thought of all that wood and cardboard going up in smoke.  Grin

not that much power for the gridseeds.  12 run under 1k  I sleep right above that room and have 4 different fire/smoke/poisonous gas/explosive gas

detectors.

when that garage ran 13 pc's with 25 gpus pulling 6k watts that was far worse.

the 3 on the evga are doing 1120 watts and about 1300gh

I got a pair of them in today.

I have 3 running on my evga 1300

they are doing

the old batch 4

231.25
231.25

the new batch 6

237.50 - 479gh low hw

and one is on a seasonic platinum 760 watt.

it is doing

218.75  437gh  very low hw

I sold 4 gridseeds since you posted this   after fees and shipping net was 560 usd .

I then purchased 2 black widows for 275 a gawminers flash sale with 1 month free hosting.

so 4 x 5.2mh = 20.8mh when I first read this thread.

It is now 2 x 12mh = 24mh    and 285 usd in my pocket.

So your thread  was worth 3.2mh in scrypt and 285 usd in cash .. thank you.

thanks to all that read this and posted comments.

to all lemons make very nice lemonade.

sad this all started out so nicely
.
now with rounds 17 and 1 I am going to suffer about a 1k loss

so my all time worse was BFL but they refunded me.

Then Bips grabbed .39 btc at 1100 usd a coin   so they held top rank.

this loss is really black arrow but  still quite a bit of coin.

so far 2014 has not be that good to me.  I had losses with scrypt mining.

this may end up my first losing year in crptyo coins.

41795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My pool experience with cloud zenminer dot com on: August 14, 2014, 06:20:10 PM
Right now my strategy is don't panic about the current price drops.

I also purchased some coins. Will monitor market closely. Only buy really good deals.

Thanks for answer. Bitcoins are limited so i hope we see increasing value in the future. Thats what i am speculating on.
I would buy a second scrypt miner because i think that with the increasing difficulty its better to pump and dump new coins
with those multipools. Or did i miss something here?

right now
x6 - 0.01523410
s3 - 0.01136633

estimated on nicehash

the x6 cost is 499    after 30 days $1.10 a day fee
the s2  cost is 499   after 30 days $ .90  a day fee

so in  1 months time  you will pay 20 cents a day more with the x6.

most likely the x6 is better.

Here is the asic-freq file I made.

I tried to make the wattage close to what you would expect on an 80 Plus Gold power supply.

It would be cool if this format could be adopted and expanded upon with additional tested frequencies and re-posted regularly to this thread using the forum code tags.

What do you guys think?

* Edit: Make sure you convert line endings to Unix format if on windows.  I just copied from forum into notepad++ and it showed "carriage returns".  I haven't tested this file with windows line endings.  I would expect that the forum code tags should retain proper line endings, but alas, they didn't.   Not sure if it would make the bitmain scripts puke or not, haven't tested it..  You guys are all big boys, I just thought I'd mention it.   Grin

I offered to do it at a lower price   if it was the 18th today I would be due 1010.   I am willing to do 800 usd.  I just pdf'd this page.
41799  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group] 479$ for hosted s3 online on 1 august, the host fee is 45$ per month on: August 14, 2014, 02:05:01 PM
2. Insurance for the host miner
To ensure the people who buy host miner in my place will not lost money, we provide the following insurance
All of the host miner will have an option to resell after four month host and the price is calculated based on the following equation:
                R= I+(H*4)-(M*E)
R:   Re-sell price
I:  Initial price of host miner
H:   Host fee:225$
M:   Mined btc during the four month,
E:   Exchange ratio of btc/usd from btc-e

Here is an example for understanding:
A buyer who have bought one host miner at the price of 2900$(I), the miner switched to his/her pool on Apr 18, and host in my place for four months, and mined 6.035 btc during these time. And the real-time exchange ratio of btc/usd in btc-e on 18 Aug is 410$ . Then this buyer will have an option to re-sell the miner to us at the price of
R= I+H*4-M*E=2900+(225*4)-(6.035*410)=3800-2475=1325$

I will get back with  the math done.

but I paid 2860 and  host fees. were 225+ 215 +  185  + (185 due) = 3670

 mined apr 20 to  apr 29 at  a diff of  6,978 ---   9  x .07214 = .64926 btc
 mined apr 29 to  may 12 at a diff of  8,000 ---  13 x .06293 = .81809
 mined may 12 to may 24 at a diff of  8,853 ---  12 x .05686 = .68232
 mined may 24 to june  5  at a diff of 10,455 --- 12 x .04815 = .57780
 mined June 5  to june 18   at a diff of 11,756 ---13 x .04282 = .55666
 mined june 18 to june 29  at a diff of  13,462 ---11 x .03740 = .41140
 mined june 29 to july  12  at a diff of 16,818 ----13 x .02993 = .38909
 mined july  12 to july 25   at a diff of 17,336 ----13 x  .02904 = .37752
 mined july  25 to aug  7   at a diff  of  18,736----13 x  .02687 = .34931

will mine aug 7 to aug 20

total = 4.81145 btc x 584 usd btc-e = 2809

so 3670 - 2809 = 861 ?  pay back if it ended today>

So here I am I purchased my miner on apr 20 aug 18th comes to   120 days.

I want to sell back the miner at your terms.  I paid you with paypal 2860.  4% of that was a paypal fee  so the price was 2750

2750  the hosting fees were  225 + 215 + 185 + (185 not paid)   this is  2750 + 810 = 3560

coins mined from apr 20 to aug 7 were 4.81145

aug 8  to aug 18  are

10 x .02552 = .2552

4.81145
0.2552
_________
5.06665

so 3560 -  5.0665 btc = what is due to me assuming I pay that last host fee.

now I realize    since it is not aug 18th and we don't know the btc values  I can't settle a figure.

If it were today the 5.0665 btc = 2550

I would be due  about 1010.

So I see a storm coming if btc drops to 400   usd on aug 18th    as that price insurance  means you need give me around 1533.

I see clear skies if btc Jumps to 600 usd on aug 18th as that price insurance means you need to give me only  520

At the current rate of 503 I am owed   1010

Rather then wait until the 18th   I would take an 800 dollar buyout.   which is 200 under what you are selling your machines for today.

Appeals to the hoarder in all of us.  I get a lot in and out and always sell the ones that run at freq 800 or higher. Keeping the duds for myself I have 6 that won't do better then 600 -700 freq.

The separate cpuminer allows for easy testing of the units.
