I have a ~50 mile round trip so I have no other way to commute w/o driving my truck to and fro. Sure is nice that this currency war is going on allowing for this short term downtrend in gas prices. However, if that Saudi prince was right then we'll never see oil approaching the $100/barrel line ever again.
4182  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-01-17] Video: Mike Maloney bullish on Bitcoin on: January 19, 2015, 12:54:26 AM
I want to know when episode 6 is coming out, apparently he's nearly done with it but bah Tongue the next one is going to be about Bitcoin, the fact that he's clearly got some and will most likely end up experimenting with it will likely mean he won't be full of shit when he talks about it.

he is not an idiot like peter schiff. so you are right  Wink

lol I didn't say that Tongue Also, I don't think Peter is an idiot, I think he's just being dismissive of Bitcoin like other people are without having looked at it properly, something I just don't fucking understand since it's open source and there's that much information available about it.
I used to be the biggest fan of Schiff but that was years ago and I've turned toward bitcoin since then. He's had plenty of time to come to grips with what bitcoin has to offer and he's interviewed and discussed it many times w/ top bitcoin industry types. So, when you come from the perspective that fiat is bad as well as the Fed plus you've had plenty of time to be schooled on the greatness of bitcoin and you still stick only to precious metals, I find it a little unusual unless your bread and butter depends on the metals market. Furthermore, bitcoin moreso than not, tends to pry its interested parties from the precious metals community since those are the types that are into alt currencies and sounder money. Hence, Schiff realizes that bitcoin is creeping into the metals' sector and those that would put some of their money there and his maintaining of a hostile attitude despite what I mentioned above is a calculated attempt and staying an ostrich despite the obvious.

Unfortunately for all of us the media has traded pay for objective journalism long ago.

Don't let what the media thinks cloud you from arriving at your own opinion.
True but this media has been working over the average american routinely for the last few months about all this stuff going on overseas w/o mentioning that we funded and trained them on the heels of the Benghazi ordeal, thus orchestrating this whole situation to eventually build public support for interventions that they had been shying away from as a populace over the last 5 years or more. The leading engine that usually leads the way in these things are middle aged and elderly white conservatives that see all the muslims doing this and that and then paint with a broad brush to create the big picture. This then filters down to friends and family members and the average people that are bombarded with this stuff and that's how the mindset of americans has changed so much in such a short amount of time. Especially in the republican party, where the mindset of Rand Paul and a realistic foreign policy had been trending because of the McCains of the world and the funding of these terrorists overseas on purpose. However, short memories forget when Fox News has (The walrus) John Bolton and his neocon buddy Charles Kraugthammer on every night misconstruing what has been going on.
4184  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'American Sniper' breaks box office records on: January 19, 2015, 12:39:37 AM
Is the main character based on a real person?
Yes, Chris Kyle is the SEAL team sniper w/ allegedly 255 kills, 160 which have been confirmed by the Dept of Defense. The interesting thing is that back in 2006 he had an altercation w/ former Governor and SEAL member Jesse Ventura and lied in his American Sniper book about knocking him out and had to settle for $1.8 million in damages to Ventura for defamation and unjust enrichment.

Rand Paul Makes Headway in Longshot Bid To Win Jewish Support
Can GOP Presidential Wannabe Get Kosher Stamp of Approval?

Quote
Senator Rand Paul’s still unofficial presidential campaign reached a small but significant milestone in early January: The executive director of the Orthodox Union’s advocacy center, Nathan Diament, publicly praised him in an official press release.

For many candidates, that might not mean much. But for Paul, the O.U.’s January 6 statement, lauding his sponsorship of a bill to defund the Palestinian Authority, marked something new. Long shunned by the organized Jewish community as hostile to Israel, Paul is attaining a degree of acceptability, if not yet embrace, in at least some quarters of American Jewry.

It has been a steep learning curve for the up-and-coming libertarian. On top of his own longtime views against foreign aid to any country, the Kentucky Republican labors, justly or not, under an additional burden in the eyes of some Jews as the son of a former congressman who has been associated with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Yet within less than two years, the Kentucky senator has gone from pariah to pareve in the eyes of many Jewish GOP supporters. And the O.U.’s statement meant something more: a first-time nod from an avowedly nonpartisan national Jewish group. The group stressed, however, that its statement was limited only to Paul’s legislative initiative and should not be viewed as an endorsement.

Rand Paul says he's made up with McCain over ISIS photo feud

Quote
U.S. Sen. Rand Paul says he has patched things up with U.S. Sen. John McCain, whom he angered last year by repeating a bogus Internet claim that the Arizona Republican had posed in a photo with Islamic State extremists in Syria in 2013.

"I think we've made up," Paul, R-Ky., told The Arizona Republic Thursday while in Scottsdale to meet with supporters and raise money.

"When we talked, I said, 'You know, sometimes, I can get overboard, and, sometimes, both of us can get overboard.' And that's the best way to acknowledge a dispute. Disputes take two to fight, and for the most part, we have many, many things in common as Republicans. ... It was a mistake to make that too personal on my part."

Paul, a potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, and McCain, the 2008 GOP nominee, have sparred on and off over foreign policy and other issues since the libertarian-leaning Paul joined the Senate in 2011. McCain, R-Ariz., famously had to apologize for referring to Paul as one of the Senate's conservative "wacko birds."

But tensions strained further after Paul ripped McCain in a September interview with The Daily Beast, an online news website. Paul said McCain had met with Islamic State fighters "and had his picture taken, and didn't know it was happening at the time."

Personally, I think Rand bitched out on this one but considering he's tying up loose ends before inevitably announcing his Prez run coming up here in the spring, I can see why he'd let this one go and even concede territory that he surely wasn't wrong about. This all came during his visit to AZ over the last few days but McCain is one of the most hated Senators esp in his own state where different county republican parties have censored him. Guess I just find this annoying but that's why I couldn't be anything more than just a state party delegate where I'm at. The bottom line is that all these so-called rebels were funded and trained by the US and perhaps the Saudis and then sent on their legion of doom missions which has created the instability once again and consequently allowed the media to showcase it all and allow the neocons to trend again and freak out the american people.
4187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has it been so bad before? on: January 18, 2015, 11:25:22 PM
things will turn out great in the end. hold on to your bitcoins and you'll see. be patience.
Ok, but I'm out when it hits 125€ anyway. Not really eager to wait a few months/years first.. And if it revises which I still hope then, bitcoin can never die Smiley.

Ok, so let's review what you've revealed about your trading strategy so far.  You bought near the all time high, and you're planning to sell at the bottom of the crash.  So basically your strategy is: buy high, sell low.  You're not a really great investor, are you?
It's more about selling in time before it gets to 10$ and Bitcoin doesn't recover. Last days were positive for the exchange rate but time will learn, I see a very little chance in recovering it to my buy-price for now.
Lol, don't hold your breath. There's no chance in hell this show is over and things are just getting started before the real bull market begins. While the bulls had this coming after a year of wrong calculations, this chatter is on borrowed time. We've either turned the corner or are on the verge of doing so, flat out.
4188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: January 18, 2015, 11:20:28 PM
Has this thread become a face-off between the last two posters? Seems like some animosity building up and I'm not even sure why as I haven't been following too closely over the weeks and months, only recently and this is what I noticed. Huh
4189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 18, 2015, 11:06:56 PM
For shits and giggles let's say tomorrow we get 2 announcements, one that the Bitlicense is ready (and it looks good), and the other that the ETF is officially approved. Speculate on the madness that ensues.  Tongue

4190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to say goodbye on: January 18, 2015, 06:19:22 AM
I've gotten so much entertainment and education from following btc and this forum I would never "say goodbye." I wasn't an early adopter and I haven't gotten rich, but man has this been interesting.
No kidding, this place is a playground for those that are looking to expand their horizons in such a new world. Learn what you can and don't look back cuz the future is bright as fuck.
4191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you considered hard drugs? on: January 18, 2015, 05:49:12 AM

I think it's more likely to drive people to drinking.  Smiley
It's more likely that the price will have people rejoicing and buyin for bargain prices and jumping for joy as the market turns around and makes a boom in new territory that's inevitable just like the prices of oil prices have people dumbfounded. Know when to hold em and know when to fold em, now ain't the time to throw in the towel but amass like your livelihood depends on it.
4192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serves you right bitches on: January 18, 2015, 05:43:21 AM

Wanted to make a quick buck? Thought you found the short-cut to endless riches? Serves you right bitch, the punishment is only proportional to your greed and the damage done to Bitcoin by the bubble you derps caused.

Are you directing this to the Chinese? LMAO Tongue
Please tell me you didn't locate Satoshi in real life. This would be a sad day in bitcoinland. However, times are looking very strong these days for the new wave in bitcoin rising.  Smiley
4193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will not have an easy road on: January 18, 2015, 05:38:30 AM
I'd say step up and stop being a bitch and put some of your money where you think it'll make the most for you. Ok, that was a mouthful. If I was a newer onlooker, I'd note that the bear market that has happened for so long is either over or almost there so the turn around time is closer than say, if you bought in 3-4 months ago. Think about that for a moment. Sideways and up is on the way so the safety net is pretty much intact and you're certainly not exposed to what many where for the last year. The winning road is from here on out. Come back in due time and ask me for one of my addresses so that you can tip me for your good fortunes. I'm happy being your bar tender of wealth.
4194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Market got you down? on: January 18, 2015, 05:33:43 AM
True, if you throw in the towel and give up you'll regret it for the rest of you life. You might save a few bucks in the short term if you think the bear market still has some legs but if you call it a day, so to speak, this is something you'll be depressed upon forever as you see the market turn around. There's too much at stake and in play for this ecosystem to get a shallow grave that you're seeing purveyed by fly by night accounts popping up here on a daily basis. If you let them work you out of your position then you can only blame yourself as you're watching the boat leaving the harbor when, not if, it does. We're near the culmination of the bear market having diarrhea and coming back to where normal people have decent shits and have fun on the pot for once that it's worth upping your stance and at minimum, holding your water for now. If the bulls were or are here to transfer their bags to the newer folks, it certainly wouldn't be now nor anytime soon. We just want yall to know when the time is right to buy in in full when the last bear market that has plagued so many of us is on the verge of being behind us. Consider yourself being super lucky learning or gaining interest in bitcoin at this time, you've been spared the year of the bullshit and are ready to ride the tidal wave to good times. Wink
4195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm fucking out. bitcoin will be over soon..confirmed. on: January 18, 2015, 05:13:14 AM
I feel bad for anyone fleeing the scene at this time thinking the show is over, on the contrary. All you're doing is setting yourself up for hating life even worse when the next wave gets nasty and you're left alone in the dark and in your room all by yourself eating doritos for dinner cuz you can't afford lobster on a daily basis. This smoking gun hasn't even shown itself yet and certainly hasn't given you a taste at what the future will offer. If you have a vision of the future, you'd be holding or backing the truck up and purchasing like there's no tomorrow and/or planning on doing so. The next wave will be super silly and nasty on the bullish side and all these upcoming and current btc conferences are showcasing what you have to look forward to as the price recorrects to where most of us know it will be. It's easy to want to take a crap and sellout but that's the worst thing you could do and you'll live the rest of your life looking back on this failure to have what you need when the time was right. Don't be stupid and ruin your future by giving up hope when we're so close to moving forward. You gotta have a steel framed stomach lining to make it to the next level. This isn't for the faint of heart yet, if you bail your heart won't do so well watching the rest of us get payed and living the good life from then on in. So many people are soft these days, but if you had to lead the lives of the founders of the USA and pledge your life, liberty and sacred honor this downtrend would be a cake walk and even better, you'd make it out on the other side a magnet for good looking women - that's right I said plural. I'm plural in a bear market down trend so you do the math.
4196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serves you right bitches on: January 18, 2015, 04:59:55 AM
Somebody was fed paint chips as a child and not breast fed! I hope you didn't cash out at such chump prices. There's so much more to be had if patience was a virtue for ya. The next ATH shouldn't be predicted now but will make so many well off and will be a freak out point all across the world. Smiley
4197  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Real Reason Of Bitcoin’s Descent, Revealed on: January 18, 2015, 04:54:29 AM

Who knows maybe if winklessvoss ETF is launched bitcoin will ignite again.

but without winkles or a killer app for bitcoin, this is gonna be a slow painful downward spiral, below $30
Despair is rife but I would look forward to the successful launch of the ETF as the point person on the job is top shelf and a celebrity in the business which is why she was chosen for the assignment. I'm not saying there's a timing that is being chilled upon but once the bottom is found, the next launch and rally will freak everyone out. The end result will be groovy times for all those that stuck it out and/or bought in significantly at the right time. I'm telling you and everyone else, the next wave will flag a historical marker in such a way that I'm not exactly sure what event to compare it to. Any bear that wants to counter this is certainly welcome to but be very careful what nonsense you spew cuz the honey badger is gonna get nasty. in the near future.
4198  Economy / Speculation / Re: 5k before year end 2015 on: January 18, 2015, 04:47:39 AM
$5k is a tad optimistic, but stranger things have happened in Bitcoinland. Not sure if I'm willing to place a bet on it happening, though.
I'm certainly not saying it will happen but I definitely won't place a bet against it as the long downtrend could trigger a parabolic and violent uptrend that I don't wanna fuck with other than hold.  Smiley
4199  Economy / Speculation / Re: TheJuice's Price Theory for 2015 on: January 18, 2015, 04:43:03 AM
They have been trying to do this since 2012 and still haven't moved further along. Why would it change this year? The hoops to jump through are many, and the actual info (let alone positive info) are few and far between. It could happen, but don't base 20% of your annual prediction on this yet unknown.

Another thing, there is no proof that they will ever buy another Bitcoin for the fund. The net inflow would be to the ETF with the possibility of a bit of overflow into the actual underlying asset. I'm sure they will want to recoup some of their costs incurred over the last 2+ years, trying to make this a reality.

Given they are still 10x up on their initial investment of 100,000 coins I don't think costs are a major problem.
I would also mention that their attorney in this SEC battle is quite a heavyweight and knows her way around that whole neck of the woods. She's like the most well known champ in those circles so I highly doubt her credibility and pull won't eventually bring this thing to fruition. In other words, she's a bad bitch that knows how to get shit done and that's why they put her on the job. It's not a matter of if but when this thing pops off. So, place your bets on where this machine sends the price to as opposed to worrying about whether it'll see the light of day. We don't exactly have a gumshoe on the job here, ya know..! More like a sleuth or ace or the head of the entire line of work that all that indulge in think in awe of. Wink If Johnnie Cochran can get OJ off of murder charges, then this broad can land a freaking ETF. Check her history in this line of work and you'll soon find it's in great hands.

looks like market manipulation, remember someone is buying the sells

Bagholders
Slang for idiots that are buying something that will never see another day. OTOH, could also and likely be smart buyers that will see the fruits beyond one's comprehension in due time. My money is on the latter and so are those betting on the all the startups making products that will make the community a better place for the common person via all these bitcoin conferences going on now and into the winter of 2015 and beyond.
