I thought so. But if possible, you could make them more advanced, so they could actually play on easy level (not folding good hands etc). Otherwise they're too easy to abuse.

You are asking him to make a poker bot? if he can do it then he will be rich already and of course well known. You are asking for AI and its hard to code but of course he can make it more simpler by making dummy AI that folds every X turn or raise every Y turn and call every Z chips

The software is already available, like this one for example:

http://www.bonusbots.com/hepurchase.php

But you don't really need fully functional bot, just instead of folding each time make them 'call any' when the bot has high pocket pair or 2 pairs or higher on the flop etc. So something rather simple.

Bots will still be giving the chips away but much slower, occasionally winning hands. And this would require some effort (thinking) from the player.

What's going on with all those bots in small stake ring games? They would always fold when raised.

Is it some sort of giveaway or incentive to play ring games?

Yesterday they were named "foldingbot" + number, today it's "bot" + random name.

Ya…. we are trying to create smart FOLD BOTS so basically they sit there and fold until another player sits then they get up and so on so they can fold enough hands to get some early players there so ring games will start. they will NEVER RAISE YOU! We are working on it….. Mean time I see more players in ring games Smiley

I wonder whether we'll hear anything from all those last year critics (ie Peter Schiff) who slandered Bitcoin for being the worst performing asset of 2014.

I sense they're not going to be very vocal about bitcoin this year.

Ps. Why did you post this in politics and society? Should go to main board imo.
4185  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: December 29, 2015, 06:35:05 PM

Increasing the rewards would not be possible under the current circumstances because as it stands, the ad revenue that we get is not enough to pay the free play rewards which is currently subsidized due to the multiplier. So unless we get much larger multiplier volumes, we cannot pay more that what we currently are.

Maybe users would prefer to have a larger shot at winning $20 with no chance of winning $200. It is too much of a risk to adjust the payout tiers directly so I would need to run some tests to get a better idea of what kind of prizes people would prefer to win.

I get that. I wasn't talking about increasing rewards, but just about tweaking payout tiers.

imho, 3-4 tiers, with ~10% chance of winning something bigger than basic payout (ie 3*basic) could work better for you in terms of retaining users (I haven't done any math on this so not sure if feasible).

If I had to choose between the current system and higher chance of winning $20 I'd go for the latter. But that's just my preference.

I have a client who has passed away.  His Bitcoin investment was $10,000.  How do I liquidate his account for his surviving family?

As the others said, you'd need to provide more details to get any advice.

How do you actually know he owned $10,000 in bitcoins?

ps. Do not post private key to anyone who offers you an advice. If you're not sure what the private key is - do not send any long streak of numbers/digits. You could send public bitcoin address, but I don't think anyone will necessarily need it to help you out.

ps2. Do not try to steal BTC from the family, if you're not familiar with Bitcoin, you'll be easily traced. Just saying.

With several expert Bitcoin price predictions for 2016 topping out at $3,500, the coming year will prove the worth of the digital currency once and for all.

The optimistic Bitcoin price predictions represent quite a turnaround from the start of 2015, when the price of Bitcoin was bottoming out from the bursting of the late 2013 bubble and the Mt. Gox meltdown.

6. BTC Guild

Bitcoin mining pool BTC Guild halted its operations at the end of June, as reported by CoinDesk. According to the company, the finalization of New York State's BitLicense was a primary reason behind its decision and it said that the pool could not afford any legal threats that may crop up as a result of the New York regulatory framework.

Wasn't this a bit of overkill?

Were they really a subject to BitLicense? Or was it more of a case when they announced that they will close when BL comes into effect (in its original, very restrictive form) and lost most of the mining power because of that, before BL was actually finalised?

Edit: yup, I was right:

A spokesperson for the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) later told CoinDesk "miners and mining pools are exempt from the BitLicense".

Bitcoin has yet to find its "killer app" but the currency's being traded at higher volumes than ever.

Though headlines about bitcoin this year have focused on the challenges facing the cryptocurrency, it's still booming with some of the highest mining and transaction rates in its history, according to recent statistics.

The digital currency has yet to find the "killer app" that would make it an essential part of the average consumer's Internet toolkit. Several bitcoin-related services shut down in recent months, some amid allegations of fraud, which only highlighted the continued risks that deals tied to the currency can pose for casual investors. As a result, some companies are building alternative networks based on the technology behind bitcoin.

How One Bitcoin Startup Is Changing Public Perception Of Bitcoin

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jonathanchester/2015/12/28/how-one-bitcoin-startup-is-changing-public-perception-of-bitcoin/

Quote
Had you ever heard of Bitcoin before seeing the title to this article? What do you know about it? That it’s a way to buy illegal drugs? That the CEO died? That it’s gone bankrupt? There are grains of truth in each of these statements. Those of us with going concerns that aren’t engaged in crime or falling into ruin have to cope with the perceptions those grains create.

Released in 2009, Bitcoin is still very new, as far as network-centric applications go. The blockchain and the peer to peer connections used can be compared to other network applications like DNS, the domain name system, which was released in 1984, and which is still being refined and extended today. Immaturity in blockchain based currencies like Bitcoin is clear; the seven transactions per second and half hour verification times are issues that will have to be addressed as volume increases.

I think signature campaign might be the best option for advertisement, if you're low on budget fixed pay campaign will be good.

Bit outside of box thinking:

What about sig campaign on bitcoin.com forum? I'm not sure whether it's officially allowed/disallowed there. But if there isn't any other campaigns going on there, it could be really cheap and hopefully effective.
4193  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ 1+Year Old on: December 28, 2015, 12:21:16 PM
Hello guys!

It has been a while since we do any kind of promotion. 2016 is about to start and we are currently looking for an efficient way to spread the news about 0.5% house edge.

Do any of you have suggestions? Giveaway / raffle / sig ad / or anything else? Which one do you think work best? Your comments and feedback are welcomed Smiley

Have a great holidays!

Avatar campaign + personal text could work fine for low cost (there's a deficit of such campaigns that are not tied to sig campaigns). Signature campaign wouldn't be bad but it could be just too expensive.

Any sort of giveaway/raffle etc is a good idea, but make sure you announce it well in advance and give chance to referrers to promote it on reddit/twitter etc.

And since 100 million bets are approaching, you could set a price for the 100mil bet (+2 runner ups maybe?).
4194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting free bitcoin to physical silver (no $'s spent) on: December 28, 2015, 12:08:24 AM
How much do those faucets pay per hour/day? Your earnings seem pretty high, unless you earned a lot on referrals, you use bot, or you're glued to the computer 24/7.

I do not use bots and I do not have many referrals.  I have 2 referrals on The Bonus Bitcoin and 1 referral on the Alien Faucet and 1 referral on one of the Faucetbox bitcoin faucets that I use.  I hope to increase my referrals at a later date.

Actually, there are people who earn more than I do but they have a lot more referrals that I do.

As for my bitcoin earnings being "high", that is subjective.  For me, on the weekends I earn more bitcoin from the faucets since I have the weekend off from my regular full time job.  On most weekends, I can earn between 200,000 to 300,00 satoshi if I am at home most of the time.  During the weekday and depending on how early I wake up before I go to work and how many hours I have left before I have to sleep when I get home after I leave work, I can make a total of between 100,000 and 185,000 satoshi a day Monday thru Friday.  If I am working overtime at my job (usually working between 10-12 hours a day), then those earnings will be a lot less since I would home less when working overtimr at my regular job.

As for spending time on the computer on the Internet, I do a lot of listening to Internet talk radio, surfing the Internet and posting on forums so it works out perfectly for me.  In other words, if bitcoin and bitcoin faucets did not exist, I still would be...............Listening to Internet talk radio, surfing the web and posting on forums.  I do not go out very much outside of work.

I do understand where you're coming from. Just don't get addicted too much and don't let the faucets dominate your free time.

Personally I only use freebitco.in, mostly on my smartphone (when commuting to work, during cig break, or when waiting for something), I don't care too much about basic payouts, but they do have lottery type payment system, so there's always a chance of hitting something bigger for zero cost.

As the pharmacist wrote, you could build up your rank here and join signature campaign. Much better and more constructive way of earning BTC. For 'hero' rank you can get around 0.0012 per constructive post.

4196  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: December 27, 2015, 07:10:12 PM
...
I do not understand the recent fascination with people wanting to collect 800 or 1,000 satoshi every hour by hitting faucets. That was never my intention with freebitco.in. I always made it to be a place where people could have a bit of fun and play for a shot at winning a significant prize. The low rewards are in place simply so that if you do not win a big prize, you at least get something.

Well, if that's your goal, why not tweaking the payout structure to increase chances of winning anything higher than basic payout? Say, something between 10-20% instead of current 1.14%.

Judging on my referred list, it looks like most people would click few times and then let it go. Giving higher chance of winning even just slightly higher amount could give a small psychological boost to the users and could help maintain active users base.

Just my suggestion. It's your site and your decision.

I saw it, i was credited 4:19:33 pm, but after 13 seconds, namely: 4:19:46 pm, i have to say it should be a crazy hacker did that so quickly even i refresh my balance and still saw nothing. but after that i post here and claimed i didn't see the balance in chatting room, there was no people there, after you paid him you just be back online! you should really saw my posts before paying him, so you can stop his withdrawal.

I have to say: fuck this hacker, he will be dead in a few day, fuck him!!!

No I cannot. We are not responsible for hacked accounts or multi account users. As you could or anyone can put in tickets all day long saying there account was hacked but simply the pW was given out or not taken care of and therefor someone transferred it or just someone simply wanting to scam us…… So we just don't get involved.

Play in the NYE tourney !

You're not responsible for hacked accounts, but maybe you could help him out by checking the hacker's ip? There's a chance it was just another player who guessed his pw. If so, there's a chance of him getting his BTC back.

It must really suck to spent couple of hours playing, finish 3rd and lose all your winnings like that.

Just got 3rd, i was the chip leader during the main time, but i was lost one hand to another good player, his river card made his hand into a spade flush, and i had to lose my good hands with a straight.. Sad

Still don't have the money-120 mbtc on my account, when will i get it? thanks!

You did get the money! It shows you transferred it Huh

no, i didn't transfer, did hacker do that? and also i checked the deposit and payout history in this week, can't see any history.

if it is transferred by a hacker, please don't allow him to withdraw, and make my chips to me, thanks!

You really got hacked? Have you set a strong password or something easy to guess?

Bitcoin giant BTCC donates 100 full nodes to help maintain the network

Bitcoin exchange and mining giant BTCC has donated and deployed 100 full bitcoin nodes across five continents to support the bitcoin network.

Full bitcoin nodes, which enforce the rules of the bitcoin network by serving a full copy of the bitcoin blockchain and validating blocks and transactions, have been in decline of late, arguably leading the network towards centralisation. The network has seen a 19% decrease in viable nodes over the past year to 5,280 at the time of publishing.
