4181  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Merit "trading" - buying and selling Bitcointalk merit on: March 28, 2021, 07:42:42 PM
the 'merit' system is great IMO...
Just imagine if there was no 'merit' system then we would see tens of thousands of spammer become legendary. The 'merit' system is perfect for getting members to enhance their posts.
I think that was the purpose of Merit system in the first place because back then there were a lot of spammers in the forum and they find that merit is a good system because it filters out the people that spams from the one that does quality post, although there are those that got away because they had been spamming a lot even before the merit system. Buying and selling merits is such a scummy way because it is unfair to those that were trying to go up through honest work.

I totally agree with your thoughts  that trading Merits will be unfair to those who really work hard to create a good quality post but being not very old on this forum I am unable to understand what is the criteria to determine whether post deserves merit or not. i think  It is totally based on jurisdiction of one person and lacks any mechanism or system  that should be basis of granting merits. Please advise your comments.

There is no criteria of sending merit to certain posts or not sending merit to certain post. You may send merit to a one liner post and you my not send merit to a post which is half a paragraph. If you like a post you can send the merit to it and the liking depends upon your personal wish. No one is bound to ask why you give merit to a post or why you did not give merit to the post. That's is how the merit work and it works perfectly.  Smiley

Thanks Umer bhai.I fully understand what you are saying but I am questioning the fairness of this merit awarding system which is totally based on personnel likes and dislikes and in my opinion , it is not enough to determine quality of post. If there would be any pre-described standard of metrics to evaluate the quality of post, for example, length of post,  views , comments on post and the content should not deviate from topic, then it would look more fair and Transparent. The purpose of initiating debate on this sensitive' topic is to come up with suggestions from active members to further refine this system. Hope our voice will be heard.
4182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin Ready for a Major Breakout? on: March 28, 2021, 04:15:31 AM
LTC sure is not getting much attention lately because of LINK and DOT climbing up the rankings. But looking at it again, they are not doing really bad. LTC volume is actually pretty good considering the overtaken of the ranking. Its still a decent investment for me same as XRP.

44.7%in 7 days is definitely a good increase, Litecoin although a former number two coin in the market and had a big slip in standing still a good coin to invest in, we never know Litecoin will become the next favorite coin of Elon Musk to shill and it will eventually reach $1000, Litecoin is always ready for a breakout it has always proven it can and the market has recorded on those breaks out.

LTC is trading  now above support zone and Breakout is likely to happen any time  as BTC is stable now and Dominance Index is around 59% which is good for 2nd round of Rally is Alt coins. LTC has yet to break its ATH record of $375. I am patiently waiting to see it happen and expecting it to make new ATH record soon.

Here we have it, another classic example from someone winning a lot of money and blew it away on drugs, fake friends, parties, three boob jobs, impuls shoppings, etc... all gone.

Don't end up like here, if you became wealthy make sure you stay wealthy.

These things are inevitable because the satisfaction we crave is in seeking rather than achieving the goals we set; either the bar or the person must get higher.

I dont think that the DeFi hype is already over but I think its still on-going however there is just a new craze that is making so much noise and activities in the market and that is the NFT. But I have a strong feeling that DeFi will continues in this market cycle.
Something new needs to be brought to this area, so that it is again on such a hype.

New projects are already working on this, creating new technologies that will bring back all the hype in this area!

You are absolutely right. So0me innovative ideas need to be introduced in this sector to attract new investment, Recently NFTs also launched on DEFIs like Pancake swap that should create new interest in this space. One of the issue of DEFIs is they print huge number of new coins every second that creates glut of coins in the market  and price of coin falls, this issue need to be addressed by burning mechanism to stabilize price.
4186  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 25, 2021, 05:53:12 PM
What's happening now is exactly like 2017, I member. We are on for $100k April now confirmed!

tell us, Hhampuz, in what part of 2017 are we because a lot happened in 2017 and there are various parts that are somewhat different from other parts, even if the parts can be chronologically strung together.

Eek.  If my line is right... we are in for some rough waters...

*edit* On the daily we are still good... barely.

Stop doing whatever it is you're doing!  You're making Bitcoin fall!

edit: it looks like that line you drew might be support again.  Seems to be oscillating over it.
edit2: shit.  Anyway, I wont be able to watch - I have to go to work Sad

Well all my silly lines are busted... but now we are bouncing off the way more important 50dma.  So if it breaks under that it ain't my fault!

Well, and I REALLY do not want to see it break under that one... :/

I just checked with bitcoin, and s/he/it is considering what you want.  You will hear back later, aka soon.tm   Wink

Tomorrow this Contract Will Expire for 6.1 Billion Bitcoin Option and EXPIRY FAVORS BULLISH TRADERS

It clearly means there are lot more traders with LONG Positions and Whenever this happens we see Sudden DIP IN Bitcoin and this is exactly what is happening as whales make money always by moving the market against the market .
So i believe there is nothing to be worried for even if we see BTC to break $50000 mark today as it will just be done to liquidate most of Positions . AND THEN WE WILL SEE IT MOVING UP AGAIN .

4187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if the bear market starts next month on: March 25, 2021, 04:00:40 AM
although this possibility is low and probably won't happen. but I want to ask you. if the bear market starts next month, and bitcoin falls below 20k. which altcoins were still able to survive and which altcoins are feeling the big impact of the bear trend.

we exclude stablecoins, because after all the market situation this coin will definitely be stable.

so I think Ethereum can still survive and that Ripple will be one of the biggest impact altcoins during the bear market.

The chances are very thin that BTC will fall below 20K but you never know  this is crypto space any thing can happen any time,. All technical gurus believe that BTC will stay above 50K and strong possibility exists that it might hit 70K during 2021. As long as BTC stays above 50K, the alts will continue performing. I think Polkadot, ADA, LINK and  LTC are good projects and they have not shown their real colour as yet. We might see good rally in these alts in coming weeks and months.
4188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 24, 2021, 10:31:06 PM
Bla bla

How many percent from 58k to 42k did we correct? If I am correct, that's more than 15%. But maybe you math is another than mine.

All the Bla and you missing my point.

I think I got your lame-ass whiney point sufficiently enough.

In terms of the 15%, I am NOT referring to some historical point that you want to bring up in order to argue some other point that I did not make.

I am referring to the BTC price where we are at currently, at this moment as I type, which is about $53,800, and that is NOT quite yet a 15% correction.... a 15% correction would be around $52,515 ($61,782 x 0.85) if I am doing my maths correctly.. and sure I do not claim to be any kind of math and sciences genius/wizard so if I am wrong with my maths to the extent that my variance might matter to whatever point that is being made, then correct me..

Just try to stay on topic, if you are able to, dieselmeister... you seemingly ongoingly whiney and distracted biatch...

Your math is absolutely right. The correction is only 12.9% from all time high. Let's talk about next probable  move of BTC. Technically speaking, BTC is still Bullish though it has broken 20 Days MA but still above MA50 on daily chart. It can bounce back from here and next resistance is 55,550

4189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are easy to trade? on: March 24, 2021, 02:25:23 PM
The simplest answer to your query is that all alts are easy to trade provided you are trading them on good exchange like Binance where Liquidity is not an issue and trades are executed within seconds. When we talk about good projects of alts then i suggest to trade only Top 20 coins listed on coinmarketcap because most of them have good track record of performance except XRP which is riskily because of Lawsuit of SEC. I would further suggest to gain some knowledge about Technical indicators/charts before you take entry in any trade.

We can expect that the said pattern and many would say publicity is currently gone since many got unbiased with the promotion due to the numerous scams and phony projects that occurred. So you must be extremely certain you realize how to do good research so you can possibly pick just the good projects and regardless of whether the said publicity is finished, as long as you probably are aware what to invest and where to invest then you need to stress over your investments being scammed by circumspect individuals.
The DeFi hype faded away because of scammers that funds their way into defi season, defi itself is never a scam but the teams behind it fake up everything, collecting funds without listing and and fulfilling their promises, as it is now, the first set of defi is doing well in the market now because the teams were active and created the required yield farming, provided liquidity for hodlers, these were only the characteristics Defi carries while the current Defi projects failed to attain all these. Trading only go liquid on DEX if the team provide good LP (Liquidity providers).

I don't think the Hype of DEFI is faded out or over now but it is shifting from Ethereum to BNB . Polkdot and Heco networks because Ethereum network is almost un useable for an average trader/Investor due to Huge Gas/Transaction fee . There are many successful  projects like CAKE, JULSWAP, 1INCH  and BAKERY SWAP  on Binance smart chain and these projects have paid huge rewards to their investors during the past 2 months. The returns from these projects are from 2X to 10X which is highly impressive.

We are about to reverse and head back to $60k+ area!  Cool

Yes please, enough fucking around now. Weak hands shaken out, coins bought by stronger, smarter hands. Time to pump it Smiley

Sell signal off the 58,500 area but no follow through means it is too early to react (or over react) when it comes to judging the short term direction of Bitcoin . Shorter time frame oscillators may be bearish , but they FAIL to account for the price structure that is still intact on the bigger picture.

4196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need Litecoin when we have Bitcoin Cash? on: March 22, 2021, 01:00:11 PM
Real question, Bitcoin cash does it all and better with a stronger backing. Why Litecoin?

My preference is Lite coin  because its market cap , faster transaction speed and more centralized . Its creator is very serious person and fully dedicated to its project whereas  Bitcoin cash has very bad history of conflicts between its creators and that ended up in split of coin. The current price of LTC is around $ 200 and it is in uptrend. I consider its current price as good entry point to book good gains in coming months as it has not shown its real colour during the current rally of Altcoins. My Long term target is $575.

Asalaamualykum. What is a good exchange to get for citizens of Pakistan?

The best and world's leading exchange for all nationalities including Pakistanis is Binance as far as trading, investing and staking is concerned. Security of funds is also guaranteed by some kind of insurance coverage . The volumes are Huge so selling/buying orders are executed within seconds. It is better to complete KYC after opening your account so that deposit and withdrawals of funds won't be any issue.

Not sure why number going down.

I think in this case, it's going down because it didn't go up. Lots of "pricing in" of a stimulation bump that never materialized.

Wake me up when "we" get below $52k (about 15% correction from our current local top/ATH of $61,782) (if we do?).. .otherwise I am continuing to have some difficulties conceptualizing that "we" be going DOWNity in any significant or meaningful way, beyond mere noises... when prices be staying quite considerably above $52k...

which in other words the degree of supposed DOWNity that is taking place in recent times including about the past week or so remains a BIG so what...

4199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is NFT? on: March 21, 2021, 02:20:38 AM
I have been watching the term NFT in different projects listed on uniswap but I can't figure out what actually does it mean. There's something like NFT price which is probably greater than the token price. So, what's it exactly? How it is related to the project token?
I have also participated in a project like that which issued an NFT to mine and get stake every day, but I did not continue it because it needed too much capital.

I also joined one NFT site on Binance smart chain and bought some NFTs for fun, lets see how it works out. Binance smart chain  is comparatively cheaper where  transaction fee is very low compared to Ethereum network. The site  link is giving below. NFT craze is growing with every coming day and nobody knows where it will end up. We should also ride this opportunity Bus to book some gains in future.

bit of a fat finger or somthing on bitstamp. I missed seeing it live but chart looks interesting.

It looks like some guy market bought by mistake 150BTC, then realizing his 'mistake' he market sold incurring a loss of appr. $300K.

And that's in essence how the daily trading works  Grin

Looks exactly like that, pretty odd.

Sometimes it can be quite difficult to really know with any kind of certainty, and surely instead of a fat thumb, it could have been a pumpening attempt that failed.., but I agree that the fat thumb explanation does seem to be more likely of a scenario because such a thing does happen from time to time and sometimes is later admitted to or described as a factual scenario surrounding "large" price movements that more frequently happen on less liquid exchanges... but also sometimes happen on more influential and liquid exchanges, too.

when i worked back around 2011 on i told people at work about bitcoin. ......

.... but then again maybe not. bitcoin was too important not to spread the word.

This is a good point, vapourminer.

No matter the circumstances, there is a balancing that is needed to be considered, and in some sense, some of us might feel some kinds of obligations to have had spread the word, whether we are talking about 2011, some later date, or even now, and all of a sudden because we may have become rich as fuck or relatively richer than some of our neighbors because we move above and beyond ramen, we still might have some balancing obligations (surely, personal discretion in terms of how much of any kind of obligation that might be felt) in terms of sharing with others but maybe not getting too caught up into personal details.

I continue to frequently tell people (strangers and even people that I might only know superficially as well as persons that I know in more intimate and ongoing ways) that bitcoin is likely to be serving as one of the greatest wealth transfers that we have ever known or that the world has ever known, and sure you can remain stupid about it or unaware, but in some sense you are lucky that I am even mentioning such a thing to you and going into some details about my having had studied the space.  Sure, you have the right to do whatever the fuck you want in terms of "looking into the matter" or taking some kind of meaningful action or even ignoring whatever I have said to you about the topic.  I am not necessarily going to attempt to teach you anything beyond some informed questions that you might ask, but in a considerable sense you have been put on notice, and it is up to you regarding what to do, if anything.

Surely, my going into the idea of "the greatest wealth transfer in history" is going to vary and is quite likely to come out differently, and maybe at some point I might hone in upon some better formulaic ways of saying such things and to differ the pitch a wee bit depending on my assessment of the receptiveness of my audience.

As per chart below $57000 BTC is bullish .  And My Targets are $72000/$78000   Cool Cool Cool
