4181  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is a fair society? on: December 17, 2017, 05:05:38 PM
There's no equal society. People are so different that it's impossible to bring them all to the same level.
If you believe it's possible, you're a dreamer. Can you make an idiot smart? No! So to bring people into equal status you'd have to make the smart ones dumber or at least make them act like it. It's only one example of why the society will never be equal or it will be forced at the expense of exceptional units.
4182  Other / Politics & Society / Re: School Uniform on: December 17, 2017, 04:30:51 PM
The uniform is really necessary to make that school become unique and easily to recognize.

But why would you need to recognize the school?
I had no uniform at school and I don't know anybody that did. We were allowed to wear whatever we chose to and it was also easier and cheaper for the parents as they didn't have to buy a closet full of uniforms that would then have to be thrown away when the child graduates.
4183  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you going to pay taxes? on: December 17, 2017, 04:28:30 PM
I have always paid my taxes honestly. I have to say that here in Indonesia, the tax rates are also quite reasonable when compared to the other nations. I am earning around $1,500 per month, and I pay around 12% of that as taxes.

I wish it was like that in other countries. In some parts of the world when you sum up all the taxes together you find out that they're taking over half of your money. It's insane. People have been turned into slaves for the common good. I would support just taxes of 10%, but anything above this is a robbery IMO and I'm not going to give up half of my money to pay some corrupt politician's wage.
4184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN HOLDERS AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS on: December 17, 2017, 04:17:08 PM
I have no problem sleeping. It's really easy if you are lucky to have withdrawn your initial investment.
Once you do it and have only profits to play with you'll see how calm and relaxed you'll become. Worst case scenario you won't be rich, but you won't be poor or in debt either.
Remember that your health is more important than financial profits. Don't worry yourself to death.
4185  Other / Politics & Society / Re: do you think that corruption can be deleted totally in your country? on: December 13, 2017, 06:14:58 PM
I live in Russia....so....I don't really believe that it is possible in near 20 years. Corruption has too powerful roots here.

Your country is not the most corrupt nor it is the one with the longest history of corruption. In italy it's also been present for a long time and it is there now, along with the mafia. The most corrupt countries are the poor ones, so Africa and South America are the place to go if you want to get things done under the table.
You're right though, it can't be eradicated. Even if you give people free money they will always want more and will be willing to hook you up for some, favors, sex, whatever.
4186  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use on: December 13, 2017, 06:04:21 PM
I don't support anything artificial...no artificial people, no artificial emotions...drugs are given by unreal states and emotions...it's not interesting

You have a healthy attitude and the problem of today's world is not many people do. You don't like it, you don't use it, but you have no right to force your opinion on others.
I'm not using drugs myself but I would never try to punish people for doing it. These are their lives and their choices. This is what should change.
4187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is garbage. on: December 10, 2017, 05:50:48 PM
This garbage makes many billionaires and millionairess.the reasons was btc price is soo high now.if you dont link btc anymore you can use etherum and other altcoins
This garbage you say is gives a lot of earning also make a person a better life and change way of living in many lives in bitcoin user. And the reason why is still become popular because of many people get interested and also because of rising value of bitcoin.

other user said very good :

"BERNIE MADOFF made a lot of ppl rich, but he also hurt a lot of people, this is the point of BITCOIN, to only focus on winners, and deny losers exist.

Winners of every PONZI will always protect it in earnest, until it bites them, then they will be 'shocked' .

In Madoff's case more people people got hurt. It wasn't even close to a 50/50, i'd say it was like 80/20 in favor of the broke. He was running an inefficient trading system since the beginning that worked only because some of those wealthy investors didn't need to cash out. He was taking 100 million from an investor and paying him 1 million a year from his own money, telling him that it's the profits and his 100 m is still there, while it wasn't.

Bitcoin isn't a ponzi scheme because there's nobody running it and taking the profits. It's simple economy running itself, but people used to a centralized system that doesn't give them full control can't understand it.
4188  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing? on: December 10, 2017, 05:10:09 PM
It's a good thing if you're a trader, an investor, a speculator. It's a bad thing if you're trying to run a business that buys ingredients for fiat and sells product for Bitcoins. You will have to convert every month to pay your employees and suppliers and a few months of a bear market can bankrupt you.
4189  Economy / Economics / Re: Bulgaria Government Shocked To Discover It Owns $3 Billion In Bitcoin on: December 10, 2017, 05:05:39 PM
Now since they've found out a lucky fortune, I hope they're smart enough to retain it for a few more years and not sell it. This could slowly help them settle their nation's debt and could probably be used to help the poor.

The governments aren't the holder types and even if they were to ask some bankers what to do the answer would be sell now before the bubble pops.
They will most likely put it on auction soon. I'd also expect raises for the agents who got the coins. The poor will get nothing Sad

I would be a happy Bulgarian if a certain percentage of those Bitcoin holdings were given away as an airdrop to the general public.

You can forget about it. Governments are there to benefit from your work not the other way round. No charity, get back to work!
4190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is garbage. on: December 10, 2017, 04:42:26 PM
I wouldn’t call it garbage,  but sadly, unless things change, The dream of bitcoin becoming a world currency is going to die.  Bitcoin seems to be assuming the role of “store of wealth” or “digital gold”.
That dream is still alive: Bitcoin Cash works exactly like Satoshi wanted it to because it is exactly like Satoshi's Bitcoin with no fukcing SegWit.

So this is what this thread was all about. Bitcoin is garbage because BCH is the new king Cheesy
This started as a complain and ended up as sucking off Roger Ver's shitcoin.

Bitcoin wasn't a garbage tho. Due to its price raises so up nowadays, some couldn't afford it. Thus some wouldn't buy it for now because they are thinking and waiting for its price decrease again. And, Bitcoin is a looooong term investment. I've had converted 40Php (1 USD) back then now it is 2USD. It's still worth it.

You can always afford Bitcoin, just not a whole one and doesn't affect your potential profits. You can still double your investment now just like you could do it when Bitcoin was worth half of what it is now.
4191  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-10] Rising Transaction Costs Could Trigger a Bitcoin Price Crash on: December 10, 2017, 04:27:33 PM
That's possible as the current fees are limiting the use of Bitcoin to only high value transactions. It also becomes very costly and deterring for new investors to send transactions. If you're an old investor you have just made a fortune and you won't care if you have to pay $10 fee, but if you've just started to invest it may look like a huge disadvantage.
The best answer is to stop looking at the fees in USD and start in percents of the whole coin. Each time you send out a whole Bitcoin you will have to pay 0.1% fee and with greater amounts this % will be even smaller.
4192  Other / Meta / Re: What are we going to do about the Shitposters? on: December 10, 2017, 03:32:49 PM
That is if they participated in the signature campaign over the whole duration.
If they get banned before they wont get money and lose i.e. 100$.
At the same time mods will have to enforce the rules more strictly and giving out bans faster to shitposters.

Red trust works quite well. If all DT members started tagging spammers it would at least eliminate those annoying "know no english but still write" dudes. This combined with frequent updates of SMAS would greatly reduce the spam. What could be expected is some campaign management will start to see free money in this as there will be a lot of red/smas tagged posters around that would be willing to write for a fraction of the normal rate. They'd start employing them with minimum wage, like slaves. Also, some of those spammers that wouldn't be able to join a campaign with their tagged account would turn to account farming and selling. It's much easier to hide spam if you're not wearing a signature and writing in the less watched boards like off-topic.
4193  Economy / Goods / Re: Ship your old Items to Africa for bitcoins on: December 09, 2017, 04:07:27 PM
Nice little venture you have here, but you're hustling backwards. You need to have a site with our pictures uploaded, complete the sale, send us the Bitcoin, then wait for our shipment. There is no other way, financially speaking. Good luck!👍🏽

I agree. Trying to make people send you their stuff and making them wait for payments for weeks or months, because you can always say the items are waiting to be sold, only shows how unprofessional you are. That you have no money to start the business and are thinking people will just let you profit while taking all the risk.
It doesn't work like this. You start a business, you put up the money, you buy stuff from people and cover the shipment.
4194  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Taxes Mining Bitcoins on: December 09, 2017, 03:07:48 PM
In Europe you have to pay income tax.

Yes, that's the burden of Europe

At least in Europe your house doesn't get raided and your computer confiscated if you don't. Sure you have to pay taxes and a stupid VAT, but I'd rather live here than in the US where the authorities can steal your stuff and put you in jail with murderers and rapists for selling Bitcoins.

Can't speak to Canada.

In the USA, IRS rulings are that Bitcoin mined does not become taxable 'till you either sell it for cash or spend it on "tangible property" at which point it becomes taxable at the cash value of the amount of Bitcoin you spent.

There's a lot more verbage involved, but that's the short-form basic information you need.

I suspect state and local income taxes (where applicable) have to follow the IRS rulings on the subject.

As far as I know, the mining is not taxed or something has changed. When you deduce that it is possible and that a rarity. What taxes do you mean, in my country all this is free.

Mining isn't taxed but income from it is. You don't have to report mining, unless you have a mining business and keeping books, but if you exchange the coins and get fiat you are supposed to pay income tax.
4195  Other / Meta / Re: Welcome frodocooper as new moderator to mining on: December 09, 2017, 02:47:57 PM
It's rare for a new member to become staff. Congratulations.
I can see that you guys are doing a lot of work in this section, it's starting to look much better and cleaner.

And it's not just people new to mining, the number of scams, trojans, referral spammers and trolls goes up too.

Unlike other forum sections which do NOT moderate scams, I generally nuke anyone who posts obvious trojans and links to scam sites since I feel qualified to make that judgement here. The "legit" mining companies are big enough scams already, we don't need overt scammers in addition.

I have reported suspicious links in the past and they were always moderated, regardless of the section they were in. Phishing links, referrals and such are usually deleted pretty quickly.
4196  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Introvert Vs. Extrovert on: December 07, 2017, 03:52:00 PM
Are You an extrovert or introvert? How can this affect your image as a person.
I used to think of myself as an introvert but that was until I met some real introverts. Cheesy I know a guy that lives his room only to get food from the kitchen. And his family is nice and would like to spend time with him but he prefers to sit alone the whole time. I always thought that being an introvert means you're scared of meeting other people and prefer to be alone than in a crowd, but some people are taking it to another level isolating themselves from their friends and family.
4197  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia: doping scandal on: December 07, 2017, 03:39:46 PM
I think it's fair. You can't blame the country for a single incident like that but when it become something normal for the coaches to be getting drugs for the people whose health they should be taking care of it  goes against the ideas of sportsmanship and fair play. They got punished because everybody knew what they were doing, it wasn't a big secret, and they will serve as an example. Hopefully it will deter other countries from repeating this mistake.
4198  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the common cause of poverty? on: December 07, 2017, 03:35:22 PM
The most common one is lack of proper education and job opportunities. If you are a poor kid and can't get free education and find someone who will give you a job you're screwed. It's easy to get education in a wealthy country and a job when the market is booming. In a poor country where everyone around you is in deep shit you simply get dirty and fall in like the rest of them.
4199  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you have a gun? on: December 07, 2017, 03:17:07 PM
No, I don't have gun and never wish. I can say that I'm still in a peaceful country that secure as from different anti government. We can protect our self by different defensive device that  do not require too much pain like guns.

You can be living in the most peaceful country in the world and still get robbed. Peace doesn't have much in common with crime. There's crime in every country in the world and even if in yours it's much less common it's still possible that you will find yourself on the receiving end of it. I've seen all those defensive device and they work only when somebody is coming at you with fists or a blunt weapon. Try to stop an attacker with a machete or a large knife by using a small taser or a pepper spray.
4200  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Advantages of bitcoin cloud mining on: December 03, 2017, 06:01:02 PM
Do they really mine bitcoins? It is fake, right? But some of us including me has an experienced to invest in these kind of scheme and gladly make a profit with it and I think that's the advantage of it. But eventually they're becoming scam after a week or a  month.

They're allowing you to make money only when they're making even more money on the rising value of Bitcoin and other coins that they're mining! In case of a bear market they won't let you profit. Instead they will use your money to keep themselves from going bankrupt, meaning that they'll still get a profit by scamming you. It's kill or be killed in this business.
