4181  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How will the future of wallets work? on: May 20, 2018, 09:40:42 PM
Serious question: In a world where coins are digital and paper money is a mere novelty, how will exchanges or transactions work? It would have to be faster than a handshake, and yet secure. Would they only be on apps in your phone? Could you hide them in a pendant or perhaps a watch? Thoughts?
From your post I think you like sci-fi...
Well, coins aren't important but paper money isn't in use, we have money digitally, on bank accounts.
Since we talk about the future, you know that latest phones have fingerprint, facescan, eyescan... It will be developed in future and will turn into one of the most safest way of data protection (you pay with your smartphone by your fingerprint or etc).
If someone stole, they won't be able to pay because it only functions on owner.
Now I'll turn into sci-fi. For better security, it has to understand blood pressure, heat and a lot of details about owner in order to prevent some money extort in street.
Now smartwatches with NFC payments gives you possibility to pay contactless (for example Fitbit).
4182  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain in business on: May 17, 2018, 09:37:33 PM
I don't understand how blockchain could be applied into business. Anyone has a real life example of the advantage of a smart contract?
Somehow a lot of people have this question but in reality there are a lot of blockchain based projects. For example I can tell you that Georgia (with the help of Bitfury) released project of registerinf land titles on the blockchain. It gives us possibility to remain everything secure. They are going to expand this together too.
4183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC. Risk or stability on: May 17, 2018, 08:46:43 PM
I refer you to discuss what do you prefer: stability in mining - (Antminer S9, GPU...) or risk in mining: new ASICs, mine new tokens etc.
So what do you think about it?
What do you mean in stability and risk? Because antminer s9 is asic like new asics, gpu is absolutely different like cpu and hdd.
If you mean which one is stable and risky, let me explain.
Antminers cost a lot and sometimes get damaged easily + expensive to repair unlikely gpu. GPU is very stable even on overclock and can bring you a solid profit but in any way asic is more profitable then gpu mining (For example compare bitmain's eth miner to other gpus). Cpu mining works for monero, hdd for burst and other coin (can't remember name) but it doesn't worths.
While buying gpu, you have to consider that as time goes, you need more vram  in gpu's to continue mining (for example 512mb isn't enough but in past it was.
For more money I would choose asic but if you have low budget and want stable mining + ability to sell your gpu, then choose GPU mining.
4184  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YoBit seems wants to steal my money. Are they scammed? on: May 17, 2018, 08:16:43 PM
Hello everybody,

I have some tokens that only listed on YoBit (I only use Binance and Bittrex as the main exchanges). I created an account at YoBit, deposited and then sold the token for some Bitcoin... then I withdraw my money to other wallet.

Problem is that I withdrawn last week, YoBit said that withdrawn completed. But until now I have not received my money.
I track the transaction ID YoBit provided but it shows "NOT FOUND" - it means YoBit has not yet sent out the money.

I am trying to reach YoBit team for help but I dont know how?
- Sent PM and support ticket since May 12 => No response
- Tried contact them via Twitter: No response
- They dont have telegram
- They dont have an official support email.

Any one please give me some advice?
Thanks
I can't help you nor I want to criticize you but you aren't new here (unlike of people who open accounts after they get scammed). No one is tagged RED here without any reason, especially yobit. You had to consider it from the very begining.
Open thread in scam accusation to get their attention, can't think about anything other.
4185  Other / Meta / Re: Request: add bitcointalk.TO to [phishing] list on: May 17, 2018, 07:21:34 PM
But since it's impossible to ban all unwanted url, we have to make a list of accepted urls like: bitcointalk.org, bitblender.io, cointelegraph.com and etc websites.
A whitelist is very tricky: if one of them would turn into a scam, the forum could be blamed for whitelisting them.

I totally fell for the cloned site, until I realized I couldn't see your trust ratings.
I have added this line to /etc/hosts
Code:
127.0.0.1       bitcointalk.to
Now my computer can't access that phishing site anymore.
So thanks to this they had to lock this phishing and nobody was fooled anymore.
Do you even know what that post is about?
Well, whitelist may sounds risky but look things differently. This whitelist mustn't claim which website is scam or not. I mean it will just collect original URLs of serviced offered on our website and only phishing will be prevented, it has to do nothing with website's trustworthiness.

And what's about user above you, no he doesn't know what that post is about, quoted here blindly  Grin
4186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will banks ever offer bitcoin deposits? on: May 17, 2018, 06:25:12 PM
We all know how risky bitcoin is. Let's imagine the most riskiest money deposit situation.
What do you think guys, will this moment ever come and banks decide to offer us Bitcoin deposits (e.g. fixed profit on 1 year deposit and etc).
This can be very, very profitable for banks if they make correct decisions.
P.S I don't mean freebitco.in's offer of holds on their wallet. I mean if official banks ever offer us this service.

I don't think so mate. Actually, based on what I read, recently, there are so many banks that are already accepting cryptocurrency transactions, if not, are already starting to venture in the market to test it out for future changes to be implemented geared to actually include cryptocurrency-based business in their current system. I say that because I know that banks are business entities, therefore, it would be more common for them to arrive at a point where they would embrace this market rather than closed their doors to it.
The reason of why they offer bitcoin exchange and services is that on another way they'll loose their customers, especially loyal ones. Since it's new, modern and sounds futuristic, they have to follow it. But we all know how risky cryptocurrency is. Banks in economically strong countries usually offer 1-2% yearly of deposits. If banks even offer 0.1%, this can turn into a huge loss for them. Imagine they bought bitcoins and it started fall, they'll lose a lot of money or oppositely, they'll earn a lot of money. The thing that makes this game riskier than ever is it's decentralization.
4187  Other / Meta / Re: Request: add bitcointalk.TO to [phishing] list on: May 17, 2018, 05:52:13 PM
Yesterday, user Sanya_sun (now banned) was spamming phishing links to Bitcointalk.org spelled with double L ("taLLk"). Most of his posts have been deleted, but there's one left:
Satoshi retrurns! Shocked Shocked Shocked
https://[phishing]/index.php.topic=5.msg28.php
It's very nice to see the phishing link is now automatically replaced by a warning!
My request: please do the same with the phishing link mentioned in the topic title. Those links are often posted, probably because Google keeps showing them.
Thank you, you just gave me some thoughts.
Not only bitcointalk phishing urls, we have to do the same about mixers and etc.
But since it's impossible to ban all unwanted url, we have to make a list of accepted urls like: bitcointalk.org, bitblender.io, cointelegraph.com and etc websites.
If anyone decides to open ANN thread, there must be someone who will add their url in list.
Maybe it takes some work but crypto is the place where most scammers try their best with different methods to scam people (like mixer, mining, gambling script)...

4189  Economy / Economics / Re: A government can create a cryptocurrency ? on: May 17, 2018, 12:41:57 PM
Let's think about this guys:
Firstly if you can to do cryptocurrency, then why the hell goverment with very smart and talented people in programming can't create it?
Then remember that goverment doesn't do everything officially, there are some things done from goverment illegally for security and other reasons.
Now imagine one currency from coinmarketcup's top 10 is made by goverment secretly, don't you have this idea too?
4190  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Script tutorial on: May 16, 2018, 09:44:44 PM
Are there any tutorials with code examples on Bitcoin Script: from basics to complex scripts?
To be fair I amn't expert in Technicul discussion but I'll try my best to help.
This is online bitcoin script debugger: https://webbtc.com/script
It's another great (downloadable) tool for you to make things easy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1168604

4191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital money or virtual currency? on: May 16, 2018, 09:04:46 PM
Won't open new thread and will be glad if I hear your opinions about this.
Let's really think, what's difference between digital money and currency? In reality only payment way and the one thing: Bitcoin is currency and payment way - both together + this one changes price very frequently and you can fill your wallet with mined bitcoins from miner.
Digital money is just combination of numbers which shows you own x money on your card or on internet banking.
Nothing more, banks can even dissapear this difference but they don't so this and instead offer us bitcoin debit cards.
4192  Economy / Economics / Re: Imagine that economy that we know it today is not needed.... on: May 16, 2018, 08:25:45 PM
I dream about the time when bitcoin will develop and pass freely accepted by the governments. A lot of people take their money from banks and invest their funds into bitcoin, and they don’t pay any taxes.
Are you on high or do you understand what you write?
Ok, let's everyone take money from banks and invest in bitcoin. Are you 100% sure price will rise? Or even it rise, are you again 100% sure that there won't be transaction confirmation problems? Let's forget this and imagine that exchangers decided to not exchange bitcoins, how are you going to use them?
And why won't you have to pay taxes if you own bitcoin? In reality you have to calculate value of bitcoin at the time you received transaction.
4193  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 DiceSites.com - List of dice sites w/ statistics, graphs & verifiers on: May 16, 2018, 06:58:10 PM
It looks like DiceSites.com hasn't been able to track Primedice's stats for the past two weeks.

(…) by the way
wonder how Bustadice is 0.7% EV investors profit, they seem to be -5 btc down total, rough times

Investors' profit is back up to +17 BTC, but they've still been rather unlucky Undecided
Not only that, there are a lot of errors, for example, when I want to sort websites (max payout) it only shows max payout on only two website, on other ones I only see max profit. Don't know if those websites don't provide that information but at least they must be separated.
New and nice design would be great, hope dicesites won't die in this old design like nicehash "died".
Will be glad if admin adds other websites too Smiley
4194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price To $36K in 2019 - Expert Research on: May 16, 2018, 05:38:43 PM
A lot of economic experts where claiming that bitcoin will fall or it's pyramid and bla bla bla but what happened? Their authority must went from high to low but somehow that's not happening. To be fair they try how much power do they (their words) have and since bitcoin isn't that much popular in people, they still remain experts (in reality at least they lie).
So if they predict and believe it, I am waiting for them to sell everything and invest in bitcoin, person has to be silly if he knows sure high ROI and doesn't invest.
4195  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BESTMIXER.IO - Truly Anonymous Bitcoin Mixer! on: May 16, 2018, 04:55:15 PM
Snip
Wow, very interesting. That's what I want to see personally from mixers and anyone who starts project - Development. Seems you do this right and I appreciate that.
In NoJS you mean no javascript yes? Good! As far as I know No javascript makes your surf with Tor more anonymous since some information is possibly leak on turned java.
That three type of reserves (alpha - beta - gamma) pools are interesting too.
Finally great work!
Please can you add more information on your wiki about how does ethereun mixing works? AFAK it's different from bitcoin, want to enlighten a little bit more.
4196  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are the alternatives for Bitcointalk? on: May 15, 2018, 08:01:16 PM
I really think this is going no where.
Welcome to the club.

I'd love to find a forum where it's less crowded with a lot more technical discussions. Ideally people there don't care about levels. There are new technologies being discussed.
There is no such place. If you want to follow technical discussions, then:
a) Follow the Bitcoin development mailing list.
b) Follow the Lightning development mailing list.
c) Read the #bitcoin-core-dev IRC channel.
d) Read the #bitcoin-dev IRC channel.
e) Read the #lnd IRC channel.
f) Obviously, (as you've mentioned) pay attention to the Github repos.

maybe i understand it wrong, besides technical discussions, exactly what kind of meritorious posts are the forum look to promote?   i looked at the recent posts with merits (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=toptopics),  most of them are posts that extolling the new merit system.   (or helping to promoting, explaining, the new system.)

are those posts the admins want to define as meritorious posts?
if not, should they pay more attention to the actually useful ones and promote those?

if they want to fight signature campaigns, should they remove their signatures first?

Just like bitcoin itself, it's up for fork when the community can't agree.
That won't work.

Seriously, can't think of a better use case for DAO than such a forum!
Horrible idea.

why? I guess horribleness is relative.   things just need to be less horrible than the alternative
Can't understand what's your point. You are looking for alternative bitcointalk, what do you expect? Suggesting of forum.bitcoin.com? No!
You asked technical question and didn't get answer? I highly doubt while we have these two persons: gmaxwell, achow101.
Do others post shit? Just ignore them. I am amazed why you don't even expect shit post on forums, not everyone is genius in crypto world.
Why do you care about merit posts in Meta board? You are looking for technical discussion, so hang on this board, click on - on left side.
4197  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much cost to pay someone to set up faucet (and basic tutorial) on: May 15, 2018, 06:48:44 PM
Before you even start building your own faucet, I'd like to ask: Why? Faucets have never been profitable for the user but somewhat were for owners, and I don't know for today. Bitcoin's too expensive to be handed out in anything smaller than a few satoshi. Why not invest that money, as much as you can, into something else? Like some altcoin faucet maybe?

I'm not specific "BTC faucet" I usually use it LTC or DOGE, but the whole story about faucets It's too complicated (set up faucet, set up advertisements, whether profitable etc.).
Is there any other way to invest in some business with cryptocurrency like:
- Faucets
- Mining (cloud and real)
- Mining site (mining on my site)
- Trade
- any other way?

Thank you all for the answers.
If I were you, I would forget faucet but I repeat you again, if you want professional work, try envato...
For example this one: https://codecanyon.net/item/bitcoin-faucet-list/20435722
It costs 18$ and they include basic tutorial.
For investments, there are wide choices, you have to look around. Real mining was and will be always great while price is high but if you can hold, then it's always profitable.
4198  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitsvisit.com - Cheap CPC Advertising only 4 satoshi per click on: May 15, 2018, 04:57:13 PM
I have never heard about your website but seems you decided rebranding.
At first I thought you were accepting publishers to put ads on their website but seems it's different advertising website.
Prices are good for advertisers but not great for earners. Something like addmefast would be better, I highly doubt your project will gain success, a lot of similar projects have failed and fail.
4199  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂▃▅▆█ BITSLER █▆▅▃▂🎁NEW UPDATE★★★50% REFERRAL COMMISSION★★★🎁 on: May 14, 2018, 08:14:21 PM
The interface is kinda boring..make some improvements in that direction

The interface needs to be boring because it needs to be basic.

If they add flashy graphics and lightning effects it will become to difficult for a brand new player to learn how to play right away.

There really isn't much that the design department can do. Simple dice site interfaces should all remain basic pretty much.
Can't agree, for me their interface is unique and it was what attrackted me from the first time.
If you have some experience in web development, you may understand that currently everyone tries to make UI nice and simple. Their design is also in great colours which doesn't make your eyes tired + website loads quickly, less cache in your browser.
4200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does ETH movements depend on BTC ? on: May 14, 2018, 02:18:04 PM
not always, it depends on the news from the eth itself, we can note a few days ago when MT Gox news, the effect of BTC that caused not too much effect on the ETH
Agreed at some point. For example when there was news about hard forks in ethereum, it's price went down and it had to do nothinf with bitcoin but generally, if you see, when bitcoin rises, ethereum and other altcoins follow it. Ethereum's price depends on bitcoin but it has it's own sides which can sometimes make price a little independent from bitcoin's movement and one of them is news, yes, because it's the most popular altcoin.
