I'm thinking the 1000w evga as I'm never going to have 3 AntMiners and if I do I'd want them all to be over clocked.
I can't over clock 3 antminers s3 with the evga 1300 can I?

you can oc 3 s3's  i did 3 s-1's pulled 1215 watts for 45 days in a row 24/7

i then moved them and down clocked them

I would suggest using 1500 watt power supply, 1215 watt for 1300 watt power supply is killing it pretty fast...

      3 s-3's will do less the 3 s-1's

     1095 vs 1215 watts

it will work well with 3 s-3's

btw

the psu has a 10 year warranty

Also they are going to give every current customer at Zen a free Fury and 3 months of free hosting for it.  I like free stuff!  Smiley

I got one yesterday Smiley

however, I don't see free hosting
it says 0.11 USD/day

the 2 antminers I bought say N/A, because I guess they have free hosting for a month?

-------------------------------

the s3 I bought on oneminer.com said to deliver 441+ gh/s

but it's really low

it usually goes around 430 gh/s

what's up with that?

the s3 I preordered on gawminers is on a stable 460-470 gh/s

yeah I read that the early orders will be at 460-470 to honor the first numbers given by antminer

the new orders will be at 440 to order the real numbers now.

Do you have a copy of the oneminer sale ? see what it offers for hash.

Gawminers can frustrate at times. Your case would annoy me if I were you.

BUT and a big BUT  they gave us all free fury's

Kind of like the little girl with the curl  when she is good she is so good, but when she is bad she is so bad.

I read about the lower numbers late last night and I decided to buy 2 direct from bitmaintech.

that is a crap shoot I have four from bitmaintech  2 mine at 430 and 2 mine at  460.

I am waiting on my free fury will post back on it tonight.

Some Real world shit happened yesterday:

I had a house fire yesterday in my kitchen.  I was really lucky.

The cooktop  on off controls that move the gas valves failed when boiling water for bok choi .

The two knobs caught fire.  I was able to put the fire out pull a knob from the back burner and turn the front burners off.

I am going to lowes to order a new cooktop.

I have G-750 SeaSonic 80 gold powering up 2x S3 miners. After couple of hours, one of the antminer started getting some HW errors. Is this because one of the blades i connected with daisy chain?

what are some hw errors
 5
10
100
1000
10000

1000 errors a day are not too bad.

both have been running for 13h+ now, first one has 57 HW and second 166.

----------------------------------------------------
at atledenin you have the formula inverted  I think but I just woke up LOL

---------------------------------------------------

you are fine  you are more then 99% good.

take the  formula    hw / diffA +diffR +HW

if it is under  .005   you are better then 99 percent

926/23,716,864+32,744+926 =   926/23749534 = .000003899    x 100 =    .0003899   that is .9996101 percent good

see screen shot

Also they are going to give every current customer at Zen a free Fury and 3 months of free hosting for it.  I like free stuff!  Smiley

woohoo me too

here my opinion with the hosting...I think they are mining elsewhere and just giving us the expected rate for the pool we choose in their list...the reason i say this cause i "had" my own home miners pointed to westhash for a few days no problem, all hashrate was stable, then they came out with saying WH and NH are gona merge and miners will be paid the same on both sites...and then boom my hashrate went to hell..up n down up n down...then they came out saying use this proxy to connect your miners, ok tried that same thing, wild hashrate swings so i jumped elsewhere but it just sucks cause i wanna mine on there with all my hash...so that is the reason i think they just payout estimated pool and why it is paided out late cause they have to wait for all the pools to update...just my humble opinion, take it for what it is worth...cause if the unit was actually mining on there, it probably would be getting less then avg payout for pool...

hmm now saying that...it's a good thing they doing it that way Smiley just wonder where they are actually mining? and maybe they are making more doing it that way? cause if whatever they are doing is paying lets say .05 btc a day and NH avg. payout is .03 btc a day...well then they just made .02btc and didn't even have to do anything for it Wink I have no proof that this is actually what they are doing, nor do i really care as long as i keep getting at least something for my unit Smiley

I suspect they have sp30's and 80mh  scrypt miners in bulk.  They have serious cash and if you had lots of cash and connections you could get gear much cheaper.
my thoughts are they may have sp30's in bulk at  prices like 2.5k each. Hosting them in the north west states at 3-6 cents a kwatt.
It would turn a huge profit for them and allow for us to get good deals. If they offer them at s-3 packages . whether  that is legal or ethical whom am i to say. I buy with cc's only.  I get 60 day  cc protection so I give them business.

If I mine in house an s-3 costs me 42 usd a month they charge me 27 a month with 1 free month.  hard to get past this.

I have enough to mine with right now.  I will stand pat on my gear for a bit. No results on my new s-3 should post later today or early sat.

I thought SP30's weren't available till Sept? They must have serious power tho as i saw on hash talk that the CEO g/tee the S3 to run at 446 regardless.

they are around I have seen tests and videos.
not to say that gaw has them but they have some serious power.

the only way they can offer deals like they do is very lower power under 8 cents.

that means washington and oregon
they also need the best gear.

If I had 10 sp30s running at 4 cents a KWATT .

I WOULD HAVE 45TH  using 30000 watts say 10000 more to cool that is 40 k watts or 1000kwatts a day at 4 cents it is 40 bucks a day in power and cooling.

if my home could run 100 s-3's it would be about 45th  power would be 35 kwatts plus 10 kwatts for cooling 1100kwatts a day at 16 cents  (new jersey) so 176 usd a day

so for power alone the difference is 136 a day.  if I pay him 450 a unit x 100 = 45000 usd.  if he paid 2500 a sp30 = 25000 usd.

nice profit for him and still a good deal for me.

not sure he is doing this.  but it is 1 way to give the prices he does and make money.
41946  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin difficulty may actually go down in ~7 days! on: August 09, 2014, 03:48:44 AM
read the reddit article .  it is somewhat  dated . it was written in nov 2013.

since then btcguild suffered a confirmed withholding event.  supposed to be accidental .  it did happen and it clearly shows bitcoins  weakness is that a wealthy miner and or pool can attack a smaller pool and kill the luck.

pools have not fixed this.  on any day any pool can be hurt.  more likely a bigger pool attacking  a smaller pool.
.  once again making a solo mined major pool

of which none exist  the only true defense since only the witholder of the block is punished when the witholder makes a block

I suspect that more then one miner has quit mining once they understand this problem.

Since solo mining and expecting  to hit a block means  a huge investment.

this may be one more factor in mining being slower to grow.

Site works fine for me

Edit I got to it on a vm using windows
and if you do not have free power it is too expensive  1580  usd needs to be under 1200 usd including shipping

I get this for the site using safari:

philip why does it look like there is an extra letter at the end of that address on the mac?   www.bitcrane.com/m

you can buy 3 hosted s-3's with a cc for 1347 usd.  get 30 days  for free then  30 days for the 3 for 81 dollars.

who has this deal? thanks
i see a $1500 for three with one free month, then $81/mo.
1347 is a good deal

oneminer.com offered it for 48 hours mines at gaw / zencloud   you could buy 1 or 2 or 3 some got as many as 12.

I got 1 it is mining as I type.  my cost was 449 for the one.   and I had a 20 dollar code so 429 net.

deal is dead.  my point is this item on this thread is over priced at 1580 needs to be under 1300 more like 1100

41949  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S3 - Profit is Impossible on: August 09, 2014, 12:48:41 AM

If you:
 A) own a spare atx psu that will run 2 s-3's
B) already are paying for the internet
C) have a few cat 5 cables and a spare gigbyte switch.

you need only buy a pair of s-3's and pay for power .

2 s-3's are .128btc

if diff = 11% over the next 6 months they do btc roi

So where do you get 2 S-3's for .128 BTC (i.e less than $100)?

That sounds like the steal of the century, or is the price wrong?

Two go for 1.17btc with coupons....

that was a missed decimal point. and 2 miners for 1.28 was a good deal for me.  they have earned more then .4 btc back against that price.

you need to look at it from watts per gh.

300 for 1gh was a money making gpu in april 2013
10 for 1 gh was a money making AM cube in July of 2013
2 for 1 gh  was a money making bitfury chip and still can make money
many pieces of gear were 2watt gear.
1 for 1 gh  was and still is money making gear
.75 for 1gh  is the current common money maker  the s-3
.64 for 1gh  is the sp30

the improvements in watts are ending so diff slows.

june 2013 to dec 2013 = 25%
DEC 2013 to july 2014 = 18%
July 2014 to Jan 2015 = ?    my guess is 12% at worse 15%

41951  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin difficulty may actually go down in ~7 days! on: August 08, 2014, 11:13:44 PM
This is a nice little plateau of slight increases, who knows how long it will last though.  I'm not seeing any huge jumps in hashing power on asics anymore, just more 400gh and 1th models from different manufacturers. Some are just cramming more chips into larger boxes but also doubling the power requirement, so no real gains there. Plus, the huge farms that invested in Q1, Q2, and the start of Q3 still have to pay off their equipment, so I don't think a lot of large farms are upgrading at the moment. Just my guessing though Cheesy

unless prices jumps to 1000 usd really fast or a .3 watt a gh asic comes out.  flat numbers will abound.

what ever caused that has stopped.

Back to this item.  you can buy 3 hosted s-3's with a cc for 1347 usd.  get 30 days  for free then  30 days for the 3 for 81 dollars. so

lets see.  pay 1580 for about 1050gh must provide power. use btc

or pay 1347 for about 1350 gh 30 days free power.  use a cc

I don't know much about the vaultbreaker.

I do know they give you a choice of pools.

I do know if your power is more then 14 cents per k watt they are around 9.9 cents per k watt.

I do know they provide the psu while they host.

My guess is they will  stop mining if you ship it home.  I do not know if you are out of commission for 14 days.

hey zen miners  reading this  :

you now get your activation code sent to your email not auto activated.

so check your emails .   Or you will do what I

did: lose  hash time ..  my s-3 code came at 1am to my email no auto activation so I lost 13 hours of hash time.

about .006 btc lost!

I won't encounter any issues putting a OC'd and a stock Antminer on the same power supply?

Will the 2 different power draws effect anything?

I don't think it will, but I am a noob and trying to help out a friend, I don't want him to blow his house up.  Grin

5136/11,734,877+198,994+5136  =   5136/11,939,007 = .004301  x 100 = .43 percent wrong and 99.57 percent correct.

41959  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 08, 2014, 12:01:08 PM
Quick question;

I think I read somewhere to ignore HW errors if my hashrate was on point.  However, I've got two miners that are getting a similar number of accepts but one of them has a much higher HW error rate.

http://imgur.com/a/hdU34

Also fan speed seems wonky...

Any ideas?  Should I take the time to troubleshoot or just leave alone?

your worse hw s-3 is well within spec. leave it alone.
41960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My pool experience with cloud zenminer dot com on: August 08, 2014, 11:57:12 AM
do you know any coupons I could use for my order? Smiley

I also asked how often does the balance update on zenminer, since it shows 0.000 now heh

oneminer gives no coupons but offers a lower price.

the same s-3 on gawminers is 499  I can find coupons for gawminers,  but no coupon bigger then 25  so 499-25 = 474

zenminer should update about 11:30 pm eastern standard time.
