I am still having heat issue in my dual GPU rigs, even though both GPUs are spaced apart.

So I added 3000RPM Scythe fans and its working very well....

To further improve the cooling in all my other NVIDIA rigs, I have decided to redesign and consolidated to save space, because the NVIDIA mini farm is sharing with the 1070 and RX470 ETH farm.

This will also give me an opportunity to setup dual server PSU and do load balancing. This I hope will reduce heat even further because PSUs will be running well below the threshold. The dual server PSU method worked very well in my RX470 ETH rigs.

I have 2 types of 1080ti Reference (FE aka blower types), the plan is to achieve 2xAsus and 2xZotac = 4xGPU = 1 single rig.

I will be using the Gigabyte Z270P-D3 and 3 x risers (1 GPU will be on the mobo) for this project using nvOC Linux.

My other 1080ti 5 x Zotac AMP, 3 x AMP Extreme and 8 x Aorus will be consolidated into 3/4/5 GPU per rigs with the same method above.

Very cool citroick - would love to see the end result.

Right now I'm running pretty similarly to you - I'm consolidating mobos to the D3's i can't believe they're going for $350 now on newegg! they work just as good as the Primes, TUF2's and MarkII's but were about $60 cheaper. Now I guess it just looks like get what you can get lol

I'm running 5 1080ti's per worker though - 2 on the mobo and 3 on risers.

Also doing dual PSU's because getting 1600w EVGA's became difficult and didn't want to wait - using Dual EVGA 850's and it works well. And I know 1600w (1700w dual) is overkill but I don't like to come close to load. All cards are <75% tdp.

<65% and I'm seeing >6.1 MH/W - you guys with the 1000Mh/s but only getting 3.5 MH/W can keep that noise. I have limited number of Amps I can draw at each location so maxing out the most hashes in each location will definitely help
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: June 27, 2017, 05:16:16 PM
Is the payout good with Skein?

about $6/day right now

Im doing ~875MH with 80%TDP, +160core, -100mem

Your math may be off, with 960 mh/s I'll be doing around 9.60$ a day.

or perhaps my calculator site is wrong lol

As i mentioned earlier, i am still thinking whether i want to get a 1080ti, so don't have one yet.  But i did an experiment with my 1070's mining skein, and i think your estimate of $9.60 is off.  Maybe a couple of weeks or even days ago, but today it should be somewhere at closer to $7.  This is with the dgb price at 0.00000819 and btc at $2,450.

I base these numbers on what i earned with my 1070's during my tests.  I have 3 identical "triplets" (built same day with identical parts etc) workstations each with a 1070.  Over the last couple of days i ran a 24 hour test on 3 pools - suprnova, miiningpoolhub and blockfactory.  I ended up mining 172 dgb on blockfactory, 184 on nova, and 192 on miningpoolhub.  1070 hashes at 525.

My best earning for the 24 hour stretch was 192 dgb.  My card hashes at 525 (60%tdp, 110w), so let's pretend that the 1080ti does double for quick and dirty math, and mines at 1050.  192x2 is 384 dgb, which is around $7.70 per day, and this is a very optimistic estimate, since most 1080ti's don't hash 1050, and are closer to 950 then a 1000.  At 950, using my lazy math and just subtracting ten percent from my previous number, you should make close to $7 per day before any power costs.

I'm mining 12-20 DGB an hour , now rest is whatever. Do math however, you want. Also seriously $7 is still better than nicehash giving me lower than $5
I assume the huge dump in price may be due the BTC starting it's downtrend. I hope it retraces somewhere here and stops the descent.
This downtrend is also good because it'll weed out weak players like a market does when it falls.

Hi guys, looking for a good pool to mine DGB.
Not interested in those that pay out in BTC. I would actually like DGB.

Any recommendations?

Skein!

Look my data with 1 1080ti Aero Msi (110tdp, +150core, 000 mem)

Even with the price drops over the last week, GPU mining is STILL a lot more profitable now than it was 3 months or more back.

Good to see that NewEgg WILL be carrying at least some of the "mining specific" cards - even if they're going to have stock runout fast issues like on the consumer cards.
Sapphire was also smart about it, unlike ASUS - they give you a CHOICE on the memory options.

Most people can't handle choices - that's why you have so many people unwilling to take charge of their lives and be their own bosses - just rather have choices made for them and go to a 9-5. More power to them.

You sure about ZEC?

It's also way down in profitability right now.

everything is way down in profitability
ever since eth flashed crashed to 10 cents for a short time wednesday everyone pulled out of everything it seems

the flash crash was the result of someone placing a multi-million-dollar sell order at market price, meaning ETH would change hands at whatever price bidders were currently offering until the entire order was filled – no matter how much lower the price was than the current price of ETH.

Ya a lot of people lost a ton of money, Youtuber BBT lost over 137k from it.. he mainly mines ETH and had stop loss limits set in case of drops in price.... and when the snowball effect occurred, it triggered his auto-sells cashing him out on 291k worth of ETH at 154k price point...

What had happened was an ETH ICO wanted to cashout some of his funds for some unknown reason... ($275,814,878.06 worth of ETH to be exact), which took all the sell orders set in the system, which kept lowering the price on the exchange due to automatic price shift based on volume algo, so as the sell order was fulfilled, it just kept dropping and dropping, triggerings millions of people's auto sell limits.. which totaled MORE than the volume of fiat cash available on the exchange, thus dropping it to 10 cents, but millions also made a fortune off this.. IBS mining group had auto buys setup on ETH at some super low limit and bought up MILLIONS at around $0.25 a share... which once the exchange stabilized.. brought him up to a multi-billion dollar account worth..

amazing.... crypto exchanges has a long way to go to be on par to stock exchanges - I bet there are safe-guards to monitor and track events like above at NYSE etc.

Anyways, if you a trader/speculator .... the charts doesn't looks good because its still a sea of red. If you are a miner, not so bad.... but you are earning less - keep calm and keep the miners powered on

I feel like getting into XRP and Golem since its on the cheap now....

yes the stock exchange has a trigger if a stock goes up a point or down a point to fast it will put the stock on a 5 min hold

what exchange has this? i've never heard of that and i trade futures and commodities for a living.

I am considering trying linux for better 6 gpu support and better stability. What are everyone's experiences?

I actually have not tried the linux distros because i'm honestly 100% happy with windows 10.

So far I'm liking this - once it supports nVidia algos and more miners like alexis78 i'll go ahead and upgrade.

Yeah and these are micky mouse exchanges - I had a colleague and close friend of mines get federal prison time because of the flash crash back 09/10 can't remember. It was pretty fucked up. Not only did he lose about 8 million of his own money he lost about 90 million of investors money - it wasn't even the 90 million he lost - it was because he didn't let them know and kept trying to make the money back that sent him to prison. If he would have just told them, he would have never got screwed. Good ol USA. I can't wait to retire in another country.

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: June 25, 2017, 05:46:32 PM
Hello everyone,

I have a question about dual mining.  I've been dual mining ETH and Siacoin for about 36 hours now with Claymore 8.5.  Everything seems to be going well with 3 of my 4 rigs but one rig won't OC correctly when dual mining.  The rig having the issue is running 4 x MSI Armor rx570s.  When it single mines ETH I can overclock the core to 1150 and the mem to 2020 and get 27-28 MHash per card.  When dual mining the memory overclocks normally but the core is stuck around 950 and the hashing power drops to about 17 per card.  I ended up linking that rig to another email and setting it up with it's own SM account.  Has anyone else seen this issue?

yes with shitty cards it can happen  and those cards are one of the worst made

Yeah those cards are shitty
I run my msi armour 4gb at 1130/1800
Im getting 25mhs eth and 500mhs sia 160ish watt

Gotcha, thanks for the info guys.  My buddy who convinced me to start mining told me the MSI Armors were one of the better miners, and when I was only mining ETH they were solid.  They ran cooler and on less power than my XFX 570s.  But when I started dual mining, the XFX cards are definitely outperforming the MSI.

That's hilarious the AMD version of MSI armour blows balls! I have the 1080 MSI Armours and they they are THEE WORST cards out of any of the 10 versions/brands/styles I have - THEE ABSOLUTE WORST.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining start up profitability and potential POS question on: June 25, 2017, 05:32:19 PM
Hello everone. Im seriously interested in Mining. I Have $7,000 which will build me 3 - 6gpu computers and a small windmill  for cheaper electricity. Will this literaly make me a passive income. My research shows about $1,000 current monthly profit. I seem to understand Proof of stake and still sounds profitable when it happens. But it's based on how many coins you can stake per transaction. How fast can each transaction be processed and how much can be made with minimal coin start up. Let's say 10  coins to stake

These are my earnings:

1080ti 5/25/2017 - $12.24 per card
1080ti 6/25/2017 - $ 6.51 per card

In one month earnings already dropped around 50% so if you have 7k and want to be in it for the long haul then yes, if you want a 6 month ROI you most likely WILL NOT get it.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: June 25, 2017, 03:28:53 PM
Hello. I've been into GPU mining for the past week, running
2x Aorus GTX 1080 Ti 11GB
3x Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti 11GB

Using ~1250W out of a 1600W power supply. Mining these algorithms: Lbry, Lyra2REv2, EquiHash, X11Gost

on NiceHash.

The first few days, I was generating around $40-45/day (~$9 per GPU/day). The value has now dropped to $30-35 per day (~$7 per GPU/day).
All I did was install the GPUs on Win10, get it up and running and begin mining. Is it beneficial to overclock? I do not know what those terms mean, but are they really worth the trouble (running a card at over capacity might degrade it's life expectancy).

Are these normal results or below expected? I plan to perfect the method and then further invest into 5 more rigs to work on a daily cash-out by NiceHash (more than 0.1BTC/day generated)

I have 1 rig using NH. You're making more than me on NH - getting  <$6/day/1080ti which is >$1 less/card than any other miner.

NH is awesome for you when you're new - but if you stick to to it just think about it - on a 6 card rig, you're making >$1 less PER CARD so over a months time, that's >$180 less in revenue so while it's great when you're new, it gives you plenty of time to figure out how to get on another miner and pool. Quicker you do it, less money you lose.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 25, 2017, 08:13:19 AM

I am running in the 60%  area  for now and in the fall I will clock higher.

also remember  my summer power is 16.7 + say 2.3 for ac costs.  so 19 cents

my winter power is 12.7 - say 3 cents for free heat so  9.7 cents.

so OCT 1 my power bill is dropped 45- 50%  until June 1 next year.

Is it dry enough where you're at for evaporative cooling to work?

nah it is not that I can't do some cooling I just never bothered to because the summer  power price does the jump from 12.7 to 16.7.

this is the first time in year I can do some in-house mining in the summer.

I do have a lot of gear at the solar array.

as long as I keep the amps at 10  x 240 volts = 2400 watts most of the heat just  stays in the garage.  So far the hottest day has been is 95/96  and the garage was 97.

rest of the house was 77-81

first summer  bill was okay. 700  but the gear made 3300 .  I would take that for the summer.

I am going to reduce in house foot print a little more.   pulling 4 1080 ti's out.  and bringing 1 in.  that is about 400 less watts.

Oh man, i feel so bad for you, at least here in California we're lucky, my prices don't jump at all, I just pay the low low rate of $0.32. Hooraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

what part  you in?

I lived in LA , San Diego, and San Francisco   while I was in the US Navy.

32 cents is brutal

I'm in LA - did a bit of joint tasks w/squids - a proud bunch u are lol. One of my buddies the poor bastard is still in, stationed down in Coronado. Set to retire this year, I think he only made it to E7 but still - free paycheck coming has got to be nice.

How to enable Telegram service?
Please add function to rearrange the miner order
The update service on website is not correct, many rig is reported offline but it's still running and still online in monitor app

Hi,

Added rearrange to future development list.

Also release new 0.0.12 version of the software with bugfixes for claymore and ccminer, sometimes they don't report FAN speed/temps. That caused to display offline.

Hey nokia - I was really liking the simplistic style or your monitor - but your premium pricing is REALLY on the high side - it's twice the price of MinerStat and MinerStat has about 10x's the features and better interface than yours. Just saying  -  I was going to go with yours because I didn't NEED all the features, but since MinerStat is 1/2 the price once he implements Skein support I will have to buy that instead
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 22, 2017, 07:19:55 PM
it's instant, you can keep your miner open. Just click the tick to apply your new setting and you should see a change in your hashrate etc.

yup just hit "apply" then either watch the hashrate change, or your computer screen go blank  as the card crashes Smiley

I especially love it when I'm doing it to rigs in a location I know I shouldn't be fiddling with the settings and the machine goes down... it's like... yeah... you knew better... and you still did it... good job man, good job. there's goes $2.25 an hour till you get your butt over there lol
