421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: JitBit [JBT] | The high compatibility Coin on: May 28, 2019, 09:43:06 PM

What do you mean by compatible with most devices? You don't seem to have a windows wallet yet.
What algo is the coin?  Premine? Total supply? Block rewards? We could use some more details to know about the coin before start mining.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin ever experienced a 51% attack? on: May 28, 2019, 09:33:18 PM
My questions are regarding the level of security endowed within Bitcoin.
Has there ever been a 51% on Bitcoin's network? I understand that as more miners enter the network, the greater the hash rate meaning the more difficult it is to perform an attack. This also means that it was much easier to perform the attack during the early years of Bitcoin, that's when it was most vulnerable. Was there any attack in the early years of Bitcoin and how much would it cost now to perform a 51% attack?

I don't think we had a 51% attack on bitcoin as such.
Once in 2014 a mining pool called Ghash.io reached above 50% of total mining power and as the community was concerned about the risks of a single pool having more than 50% of hashes, the pool Ghash.io voluntarily lowered it's bitcoin mining power below 40%.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Online/Mobile Wallet to Mine ZEC to ? on: May 28, 2019, 03:29:40 PM
Hi All,

I am looking for the best & most secure ONLINE or MOBILE wallet that I can use to transfer my ZEC mining rewards to , (Desktop and Hardware wallets are not an option currently) I was mininig ZEC to my Crypto Exchange Wallet direclty (BitOasis) but now , I need to find an alternative since the exchange has decided to delist ZEC

unfortunatley , I have read bad reviews about : Coinomi , Guarda , JAAX , in terms of security and I am confused about what to chose Sad

There had been issues with them and they have kept improving themselves. If you are to go with mobile wallet, stick to coinomi or jaxx.
Both of these wallet does not store your private key and provides access through pass phrase. They have more flexibility and security than web wallets.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STO vs ICO - security on: May 28, 2019, 09:34:10 AM
Hi,

I've compared a few ICOs and STOs.

In my opinion, they are nothing different when it comes to security.

What do you think?

STOs are ICOs that promises share in the project company.
As for your concern of security, STO are also of two types. One is legally registered which needs to follow legal procedure and investors can sue the company if they aren't treated like a stake holders and another is just a scam STO.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's your view of BTC stable while altcoin pumpin? on: May 27, 2019, 06:29:56 AM
Bitcoin has been the synonym for a long time now and keeps more than 50% of total valuation of Cryptocurrency. 57% at the moment to be exact. The total valuation of Bitcoin is larger than the value of sum of every other crypto available.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW SCAM METHOD EMBRACED BY CRYPTOCURRENCY SCAMMERS on: May 27, 2019, 05:43:21 AM
Email are just tip of the iceberg. Sensitive private data of users are being revealed and traded due to fradulent ICOs and KYC, there are thousands of passport, credit card numbers and social securities number available for trade.
Users should now be much more aware of whom they are providing their private info. Risking once privacy for a few dollars is not worth it.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any Decent Exchanges? on: May 27, 2019, 03:53:23 AM
I too was looking for alternative exchange to use but almost all of them has at least one complaints.
Bitfinex has a depositing fees. Polo has higher trade fees.
Popularly rising exchange like liquid have some unresolved scam accusations. Bitpanda also looks good but has other issues.
Many of other popular exchange are focused on Chinese character understanding communities.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So when are you buying?? on: May 27, 2019, 03:47:33 AM
You saw this potential coin last week. The price was rising, you made up your mind to buy later so you created a thread here with the subject "is it a good time to buy?". 3 days ago, you checked up on the coin again and it has increased by 20%, you were still doubting if its the right time to buy. Today the coin has increased by 50% of the initial price you saw and you are getting more confused. My friend take this from me, in crypto, it always now or never. Happy trading to you all!

And we never know how far would it go. Buying in short difference takes up transaction fees. A increasing market can crash anytime and a bearish market may not rise for years. When popular base currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum has above avergae growth, I like to keep holding.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 0 confidence in how the Cryptopia madness is being handled? See this on: May 27, 2019, 03:25:13 AM

We, a group of 13 small cryptocurrency traders and investors, are very upset with the way the Cryptopia debacle was handled. It`s unsatisfying to see that a registered cryptocurrency trading platform, overseen by authorities, can handle things the way they were handled.
As authorities have failed to lead this debacle to a good end, we are now trying to gather the funds for an independent research, to lay the finger on the sore spots and to get Cryptopia to take their responsibility.
The funds received by people from the community will be used to set up a thorough investigation and take action accordingly.

We can hardly do anything as an individual, but many small donations combine into the amount which is needed to pull this off, so help us to acquire the funds needed to start and complete our investigation.

We will keep you updated about the progress on our Twitter page and Discord channel. We will act and perform according to the budget we receive, but the most important thing is that action will be taken to make sure a possible next debacle will be handled with better care.

Sincerely,

MajesticThirteen, A group of cryptocurrency investors and ex-cryptopia customers.

A newbie with 2 activities trying to convince people to donate so as to investigate an exchange which the authorities failed to do correctly.
It raises a red flag unless you by any means prove to be one of the huge traders of cryptopia who lost due to the exchange.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fantom FTN soon listed on Binance on: May 26, 2019, 05:20:10 AM
As far as i know, binance is making a contract with coins will get listed on binance. In that contract, they have a non-disclosure clause. When it happens, binance is mostly canceling the deal.

Now maybe there is a deal but can be reversed after this. So if you want your token to get listed on binance you should stop talking about this Smiley
For now phantom will not be listing in binance, they will change fantom blockchain from the ethereum blockchain to binance blockchain / binance chain.

If so is the case, it would certainly be listed on the Binance Dex and most probably as well in it's cex. Coin swap has mostly resulted in growth of price of a token. So, it might be the best time to grab some phantom token.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brave to integrate Tipping function for Twitter on: May 26, 2019, 05:16:07 AM
It is a good news for Twitter actives and BAT holder as Brave is testing its tipping function to social media platform twitter.  It was stated last May 23, that the developer of Brave is going to test it on their nightly vision.
Blockchain Browser Brave Tests Crypto Tips for Twitter Users

I believe this is one good step by Brave to be able to entice the users to shift to Brave browser and further promote Basic Attention Token's utility. Brave had been a medium to be able to tip our favorite website with BAT.
It is also  good browser probably much lighter and faster than google chrome.  If you are hesitant on using this browser you can  read this reviews:

https://zerocrypted.com/brave-browser-review-2019-what-makes-brave-browser-special/
https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/4/18249623/brave-browser-choice-chrome-vivaldi-replacement-chromium
https://www.reddit.com/r/BATProject/comments/7x9x74/i_used_brave_browser_for_4_months_and_this_is/

Brave has a good concept for how advertisement should work on the internet but the only thing that are keeping themselves down is the quality of the browser. The browsing experience in brave is very poor compared to chrome or other popular browsers.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some suggestions on unique Altcoins to research on on: May 26, 2019, 05:13:41 AM
Try bitbond securities tokens.
Not just because I'm advertising it, but we all know what bitbond is.
Bitbond is a famous and most successful P2P crypto lending platform and their securities token comes with a minimum of 4% annual dividend paid quarterly to the token holders. Plus it also provides more bonus payments upto another 4% and the tokens when matured in 10 years period are bought back with the initial price.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storing Altcoins Not Supported by Ledger or Trezor on: May 26, 2019, 01:02:32 AM
How can I store the following desktop cryptocurrency wallets on a USB flash drive?

- OKCash Client
- Verge Electrum Wallet
- Reddcoin Core Wallet
- RevolutionVR Wallet
- Bitbay Marketplace Client

Do I simply disconnect the internet, plug in a flash drive, click on "backup wallet", an voila`? Is it that simple?

Would this process restore my wallets (with balances) in the event I purchased a new PC that has none of the wallet files installed on it?

FYI: All my other cryptocurrencies are on Ledger Nano S (Ledger doesn't support the above-mentioned coins).

Maybe you can save/copy wallet.dat from each wallet you mention above and if you do this you can install it on your new PC
This sounds good. I can transfer just a little cryptocurrency to the wallet, copy the wallet.dat file to a USB, then delete all the wallet's files on my computer. Then, I can plug in my USB again and see if my balance is still there, and if the wallet works.

But make sure you make at least a 2 copies of your backup. Many people have lost their coins due to corrupted USB or hard disk or due to accidents like fire. Printing the private key in paper and storing in a different location could be a good backup or self crypting the private key and storing it into cloud is another great idea.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: fairplay.live | Decentralized Sports Betting | Bet Against Other Players! on: May 26, 2019, 12:55:01 AM

But I can't find a button to create a new event. Is it still in development? And there should be open categories like other sports and events to bet on.

If there are any sport events you would like us to add for betting please make a post here.

Seems like you can't just bet on any events you like but needs to choose one provided by the platform.
It doesn't keep up with the spirit of player betting against player where fairlay still wins for it's openness.
Even all other bookmakers are player betting against players, it just the odds that adjusts according to the way amount they bet on one side.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook will issue "GlobalCoin" before 2020 - What do you think about this? on: May 25, 2019, 04:25:27 PM
It is good to see a major tech firm taking advantage of block chain to provide services for the users. Social network is one of the sector that requires dynamic progression otherwise some other comes in to steal away the traffic. Crypto based rewarding social networks has been started to take away some of the traffic from Facebook as they are more rewarding to both content creator and viewer and Facebook wants to retain its position.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency to support Renewable Energy on: May 25, 2019, 03:43:30 PM

Just quoting the image.
Are you the real representative of this project? or just want to spread knowledge about it?
And the information provided are not just enough. The token seems to be already on the exchange. When was the ICO and are there any original announcement? If not, This needs to be in the altcoin announcement section.
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 51% Attack on Bitcoin Cash blockchain. on: May 25, 2019, 02:50:53 PM
No need to spread the FUD. The 51% was intentionally done in order to stop a miner for profiting form a bug during update. Which is subsequently solved. Such things have also happened with bitcoin in past.
According to coindesk
"The two mining pools — BTC.com and BTC.top — carried out the move in order to stop the unknown miner from taking coins that they weren’t supposed to have access to in the wake of the code change. That day, an attacker took advantage of a bug unrelated to the upgrade (and subsequently patched) that caused the network to split and for miners to mine empty blocks for a brief time."

438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never Give up in crypto (my experience) on: May 25, 2019, 07:52:25 AM
I joined crypto last year as a noob, then started learning how to trade, do bounties & airdrops. I kept learning until I decided to start trading myself. I got rekt on several occasions yet I kept the fire burning. I became tired of the hustle after buying into a coin which was deleted causing a massive dip, I had put in 5000$ in that coin and it turned 600$ overnight. Then I decided to take a bow.

I was encouraged by my mentor not to give up, I took as a cock and bull story initially, I created a bitcointalk account later, scrolling through some forums just reading and learning from from pro in crypto space. I decided to give it a second one try.

I added a few coins to my portfolio and abandoned them. Recently I got sacked from my job for no justifiable reason, then the only thing I could think about is crypto. I checked my portfolio yesterday, my 600$ then turned 7200$. Please always be patient. Buy into coins with great future , give it time, never panic sell. I hope you learn from my experience.

Wow your story is quite similar to mine. The coin I invested too went from $6000 to $600 in a matter of a week but I have not been lucky enough like you to turn back my available amount to higher. Though I haven't lost hope and your case provided me further inspiration not to stop trading.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple now more valuable than Bitcoin! on: May 25, 2019, 07:49:02 AM
I made a trade on the exchange built into Ripple a few days ago.

The rate was 1 BTC / 7100 XRP

Now the Ripple currency has a value of 14,084,507 Bitcoins.

This is more value then every Bitcoin in existence, or 66% the value of all Bitcoins that can ever exist in the year 2140.

All the XRP in existence is worth $1.59 Billion.

I just thought a few people might find it interesting that Ripple is now more valuable than Bitcoin.

No, circulating supply of Bitcoin is 17.72 M and can goes up to 21 M in the future.
Current value of Bitcoin is 17.72 M x 8 K ~ 145 B
While Ripple is 42.12 B X 0.38 ~ 16 B

Bitcoin is still more valuable than Ripple.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The right time for investment? on: May 24, 2019, 01:06:41 PM
Good afternoon everyone, I want to greet everyone here. April is almost over, do you still have plans to invest in cryptocurrency in Quartal 2? What coins are suitable for investing? I want to hear your opinion, and I will make it a reference. Thank you very much for your attention.

This is going to be the best time to invest before another bull run. It was the best time when bitcoin was below 7K but now as bitcoin has gone higher and again corrected to new low. We can't expect it to go lower anytime soon but we might get some or the ultimate bull run. In any way, we'd have better profit if we invested in crypto as there going to be a higher price in the near future.
