New Zealand have been playing very well so far and the way they have been collecting runs they deserve to win this match, they now need 83 runs from 48 balls which is almost two runs per ball. If they play like this it is possible to collect these runs but I am afraid of their game and confused that they will be able to do it because India is a very smart team so it will be very difficult to play against them.
Michael Bracewell almost took the game away from India single handedly and one hell of an innings and if not for Lord Thakur yorker he could have taken New Zealand to a memorable victory. From 131 for 6 at one point and taking the team closer to the target is one hell of an innings and Mohammed Siraj was crucial by picking wickets at crucial times and i really thought Rohit Sharma messed up by giving the last over to Thakur. Newzealand fought hard till the end and what an innings from Michael Bracewell he tried his best to chase the target but ws alone in this struggle and couldn't make it but a good match played by Newzealand. Indian bowlers took wickets at crucial time of the match and that declared their today's victory. |

It is not easy to get a reliable captain like Dhoni in Indian cricket. Although I know that the Indian team is still a very strong team in the cricket world. There are also many good players outside of the national team. But it will take time to find someone like Dhoni. KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli are all good performers, but they are not yet qualified to captain like Dhoni. I consider Dhani is the best captain ever.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India's best captain of all time, not only captained well in all formats, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni was an ideal genius for the whole of cricket. I have seen many of his captaincy in the national team and one thing that has always stood out in him is great discipline. His fielding arrangements were outstanding, almost many matches were turned into success by Dhoni's performance. In a match between Bangladesh and India, India won that day only because of Dhoni's brilliant batting and that was one of my memorable moments between India and Bangladesh. I have always admired Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy and doubt anyone will get a second spell in India with a captaincy like his. Not Just as a Captain. He will be remembered as Performer as well. Dhoni always played a big role in Big matches. He achieved a lot more than other Indian captains. I feel sorry for him because he had to move aside to give a chance to young players. I don't see any problem because Dhoni encouraged team management to remove Viru from the team while he was captain. Each captain wants their favorite players on the team. So, I am not surprised. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an amazing human being his game was worth remembering, he was not just an amazing player but an outstanding human being with so much discipline and grid , his maturity was always visible in his game none can be a captain like him. I have seen various Indian captains and they sometimes go out of their lines in terms of attitude may be reason is arrogance or what but with MS Dhoni he is a down to earth person with so much respect for everyone. |

~ The match was just like kids play with pro  , so shameful performance for team SiriLanka, they lost Thier confident when they got such a huge target. If you remember, in the first ODI India scored 373 runs and Sri Lanka in return scored 306 runs, so you cannot simply claim this pathetic performance as the pressure of the target but the pitch itself might be the reason and definitely the bowlers especially Mohammed Siraj even though unfortunately he missed on a 5 wicket haul in the match he ripped the Sri Lankan batting. We can't say there's no pressure. Sri Lanka had much pressure, looking the big target in front of them. 350 runs and 390 runs have got much difference. Even in the first match Sri Lanka started same as this match, but the scoring from Nissanka kept the match alive and made other players contribute. This time the same didn't work and the bowlers took advantage. It is the bowling that brought such a win for India. Actually, I think Sri Lanka had a lot of pressure. Because the target was really big. And Sri Lanka was under pressure from the start of the chase. But there is no excuse for them to perform so badly like this. In the first match, Sri Lanka at least tried to reach the total. And the score which they reached was actually decent and respectable. But this time things did not work out for them. They got all out for 72. That is just a shameful performance from Sri Lanka. For India, it was a record-breaking Sunday, but for Sri Lanka, it was an embarrassing one. As a result of pressure, Sri Lanka did not play well. Against a formidable Indian bowling attack, Sri Lanka produced one of their weakest innings. I congratulate the Indian cricket team on their highest-ever win over Sri Lanka. It has been a promising start to the New Year for India. Sirlanka didn't even try to win , they performed ok before in t20 and previous ODI but this was some horrible performance by them. The media did their best to kick Ronaldo out of Manchester United. The coach of the Portuguese national team did the same, keeping him in reserve. I don't even know the man's name. The name of the coach who will leave Ronaldo in reserve should be deleted from football history. Now there are critics for transferring to the Saudi League. Because, I read somewhere "a strong Muslim is better than a weaker Muslim" just like there is another matter "Get knowledge even if you have to go to China for it" here it's not saying this all just for men it's saying all things equal for men and women but sadly right now Muslims have few groups which are bringing their own theory and trying to work on this which is clearly against the will of Islam it's just bullshit and nothing positive that all sports and education is just for men.
Few months back Afghanistan having soccer and cricket teams with Iran are also having soccer team for the women and few other Muslim countries are also involved in this all because now they are realizing things are not favourable to ban women's from all aspects of life which is good change but sadly these Taliban are never been true face of Islam.

Islam says that men are better than women in certain aspects of life and women are also better than men in certain things. It is up to the Afghanistan cricket board to decide whether they want to allow this sport among the women or not. Yes they tried really well and but the New Zealand was strong in this match. The match was interesting and both teams were trying to win the series. But unfortunately Pakistan lose the match.
I written in my previous reply that if every player of Pakistan's team will play its role so they can easily win the match. But few has played well. So result is infront of us. :
Pakistan got off to a good start by defeating New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first ODI match but New Zealand performed brilliantly in two consecutive matches to take the ODI series under their belt. Neither Pakistan nor New Zealand could win the two Tests instead the two Tests were drawn but in Pakistan's home venue everyone expected New Zealand to be whitewashed but in reality New Zealand won the ODI series by 2-1 against Pakistan. Now all Pakistani players are busy playing Bangladesh Premium League. Few players are busy playing Bangladesh Premier League not all , and those are mostly ones who didn't got selected in recent squad . It depends from which side are you looking at the World Cup 2022. If you watched it on a TV from your home, everything was great and most of the games were interesting. However I'm sure that fans that were stopped in the airport because they didn't get their visa on time. There was a situation where two guys payed almost $3000 for a game and airplane ticket to go to one game. One guy got his visa and the other guy didn't get it in time. The guy without a visa got stopped from entering a plane in Frankfurt, Germany and his friend didn't want to go alone. In the end not only have they lost $3000, they had to buy another plane ticket to get home from Frankfurt.
And then there were those discriminate situations where something that is normal in "our" world was forbidden in Qatar, but I won't go into that.
Visa issues during 2026 edition will be much worse than what they had in 2022. Qatar at least issues tourist visa without much delay, unless you are from the pariah states such as North Korea or Cuba. ^^^ Squad looks OK for me. I would still prefer Ishan Kishan ahead of KS Bharat. Kishan is in terrific form and he was unfairly treated by Rohit Sharma as Shubman Gill was selected instead of him. BCCI has persisted with Mohammed Siraj, however I would have liked then to provide one or two chances to Umran Malik (his bowling style is more suitable to test format). One disappointment is that Abhimanyu Easwaran has been dropped without getting any chances to represent India. BTW, I don't know why Jaydev Unadkat is in the team.
This seems like a good team and sensible selection bit as things are different in test series well see how things will go . As indias previous test series when no one performed Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer saved their team . Where is shreyas why he's not selected? Suryakumar Yadav selection is a question because he's excellent in t20 format but test series we'll see. Balling side is strong for India. |

The series decider match between Pakistan and New Zealand was entertaining. New Zealand got a hard fought victory. Although there was confusion towards the end of the match, New Zealand succeeded from that position. In the entire of the New Zealand match Glenn Phillips was unbeaten on 63 off 42 balls. New Zealand won the series by 2 wickets in his good batting. At the start of the game, it looked like Pakistan could win but it didn't happen. The Pakistani bowlers failed to pick up two wickets and New Zealand won the match on that occasion. All in all this ODI series has been quite enjoyable.
Yes Pakistan tried hard in their last ODI, they gave a good target and put pressure on Newzealand but they somewhat escaped that pressure and Glenn Phillips helped his team towards victory. A good match played between them Newzealand has a very stable balling and batting side they deserved this win. Pakistan batting side was unstable only 3 batsman scores runs fakhar zaman, Rizwan and Agha Salman other than that all batsman couldn't enter double digit. |

New Zealand have sealed the deal and won the series(2-1) thanks to so many great performances. Pakistan gave them a tough fight in the final ODI, but NZ endured and fought hard in order to win the match and series.
Early run-outs gave Pakistan the edge, but Phillips heroically helped his team get home even though he didn't receive sufficient support. Wonder why Shadab wasn't a part of the ODI squad.
I did notice that spinners from Pakistan and New Zealand performed well throughout this series.
After first innings where Pakistan scored 280 runs, i thought it would be enough as Pakistan have a good bowling and can defend this total but this was not the case. Glenn Phillips scored 63 runs in only 42 balls and snatched the match and the series from Pakistan. I would call this an insulting defeat for Pakistan as the Pakistan fans were propagating too much when NZ leave their country in their last visit without playing. This is a strong answer given by the New Zealand team that they are a better team than Pakistan. So finally Newzealand won the series 2-1 , Pakistan performed good today batting wise they were ok but Newzealand was obviously better team than Pakistan that's why they have won this important match . Pakistan gave a good target and they defended well but Glen Phillips played an outstanding innings and save this victory for its team. |

Zimbabwe chose to field which went totally in their favour as they balls extremely good and put alt of pressure on Ireland and restricted their scores on 86 on 8 wickets in almost 17 overs . This is good performance by Zimbabwe and if they bat like this they can easily win this match.
Batting first, Ireland set a target of 115 runs. I think the runs that Ireland scored were not the right runs for them to win. But if Ireland can perform well in bowling, then the match might be tight. Zimbabwe has a great bowling performance in today's match. Couldn't score a run. If Ireland put in a good batting performance now, they will have a big chance to win. Zimbabwe vs Ireland in the 1st T20I if Ireland could have increased their score a bit more then this match could have been won but with such a low score one cannot expect to win against Zimbabwe. Because cricket in Zimbabwe has developed more than ever. They are now able to compete with quite a few stronger countries as well. Sikandar Raja is missing from Zimbabwe's current squad. Here Ireland had a chance. At this moment Zimbabwe has managed to score 71 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Zimbabwe is very close to win the match they need 44 runs form 44 balls. Ireland lost all wickets with just 4 balls to spare while Zimbabwe crossed their target with 12 balls to spare.So if Ireland could somehow score another 20 runs then Zimbabwe would have been under a lot of pressure. M.Adair got out for just 2 runs so they fell behind a lot in this respect. And on the other hand 2 more players got out for just 5 runs. So they failed to score more runs. On the other hand, Zimbabwe won very easily Zimbabwe won their 1st T20 against Ireland by 12 bald remaining. Even right now things are not clear about any update what will happen, and we are going to have Asia Cup in this year or no because we have usual headache from both sides with Jay Shah is surely not going to have any soft corner for the Pakistan, and they will also try their best to avoid any change of venue for me here we need to have brought few changes with this could be settled for the t20 format with having eight to ten teams which will give good chance to few new countries join here and try to achieve better quality and performance and U-19 competition could be also useful with nearly 10 to 12 teams from Asian countries surely give good improvement and chance to few other countries which want to have better future in this game.
India and Pakistan both are in same group but the bad thing is ODI format is selected for the tournament rather then T20. After seeing too much T20 tournaments it's very difficult to spare whole day for ODI. India is not willing to visit Pakistan, let's see what PCB says about this India boycott. We have Najam Sethi as chairman PCB and he is very much pro Indian. As there is still adequate time to negotiate, certainly Najam Sethi and Jai Shah, presidents of the cricket boards of the two countries will reach an agreement. Hope that agreement will be good for both of the countries. If there is any change in venue, then UAE may be the desired venue. And if Najam Sethi as the new president is able to build a good relationship with Jai Shah then it can definitely be a big gain for Pakistan cricket. India and Pakistan never settled on same terms and grounds this is their history , they had plenty of arguments which are carried on generation's after generation's since their independence. Anyways the issue is Asia Cup and Jay Shah and Najam sethi let's just hope Asia Cup will be held in pakistan as planned because cricket Is the most loved and celebrated sport in pakistan and that would be really hurting for their fans if venue will be changed plus reputation of ICC will be also at stake. |

I was expecting some sort of fightback from the Lankans considering the pitch was really good to bat on.
But they really bend the knee and hardly showed any intent in the powerplay and middle order. Even centurion Dasun Shanaka was playing half heartedly and only accelerated his inning when the match was almost dead. Siraj is turning out to be a real wicket taker in the powerplay and he's making a habit of getting early breakthroughs for the team.
I didn't expect any proper fightback from Sri Lanka since there aren't many great players in their team at present. Hasaranga is literally the only player that I remember properly thanks to his epic bowling skills. India will whitewash the Lankans in my opinion since majority of their players are in great form. Also, Kohli keeps rocking and 156 kph thunderbolt from Malik was stunning. Well, it's a high scoring ground and traditionally Sri Lanka has performed well here. I was checking some stats and one time India made a mammoth total of 400+ runs at the same ground and Sri Lanka lost the match by just 3 runs. Sirlanka played very well yesterday, their hard luck was that their openers and middle order couldn't make any runs only Dhasun Shanaka scored a century. Overall they fought hard till the end, Indians overall dominated and 0layed good that's why they havewon the match. @JSRAW while Srilanka lost the match but they yet managed to score 300+ runs against India which is a very strong statement, because while Srilanka doesn’t have any star batman India had their best bowler’s yet they couldn’t contain Srilankan batsmen from scoring 300+ run’s. Furthermore if Srilanka bowler’s can restrict India to a lower score in the next match then we could see them beat team India, therefore I believe that it’s too early to declare that team India will win this series easily. The match was not one sided at all , sirlanka despite of a struggling team made 300+ runs and tried to chase the runs till the end so that's not fair to give all credit to India. I still believe that in the end some sort of compromise will be reached between Najam Sethi of the PCB and Jay Shah of the BCCI. Earlier when Rameez Raja was the head of the PCB, the relations between PCB and BCCI were at the lowest point. Rameez was very aggressive, especially in terms of forcing the other teams to play in Pakistan. And he achieved a lot of success with this. If Asia Cup was taken out of Pakistan, it would have dealt a big blow to Rameez. Now Najam Sethi seems to be ready for negotiations. He may settle for having tournament in a neutral venue, given that the PCB gets properly compensated. The whole reason behind Ramiz Raja quick replacement is this Asia Cup and his aggressive behaviour towards BCCI and Jay Shah. Now Najam Sethi will easily settle this matter and change the Asia cup on a neutral venue as directed by ICC and BCCI so settle matters on peaceful grounds. |

The way Bangladesh Premier League gained popularity in the beginning but in the current and previous few seasons they have completely failed. Moreover, this tournament was sometimes closed. I think their lack of consistency has effect the Premier League a lot. But even if they really want to take this tournament back to the previous level then they should do it for the sake of cricket and not for political considerations. I don't think their revenue will be much in this event.
You are referring to 2021 and 2022? Those two seasons were cancelled as a result of COVID. But now the league is back and so far it has witnessed good crowd as well as TV viewership. I already mentioned in one of my previous posts that the BPL overlaps with 3-4 of the other franchise T20 leagues. Given the amount of money being splurged in some of the other leagues, you can't expect the BPL to beat them in terms of player strength or popularity. But this league has managed to stay afloat despite all the odds and the credit should be given to the players, franchise owners and the BCB. This is actually happening 3 or 4 leagues are going at a time BBL , LPL, BPL and SA league plus ODIS and regular series of different countries soo all players are playing somewhere and this is obvious players will opt to those leagues whose packages are good and they are paid good. That's the main reason behind less international players in Bangladesh Premier League as they can't have big pay packages for players. |
