421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BS] BitSlap! PoW x11 on: May 31, 2014, 06:51:48 PM
Ludicrous!

I'd ne damned if I'd allowed myself to be BitSlapped by some shit like this!
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW POLL: Should newbs and Jr. members be barred from creating ALT ANN threads ? on: May 31, 2014, 04:23:15 PM
So how about this... let's try to discourage them a lil too by patrolling the alt coin announcement section. Let's call out everything we see wrong with their coin/launch/strategy.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW POLL: Should newbs and Jr. members be barred from creating ALT ANN threads ? on: May 31, 2014, 04:19:02 PM

I doubt the scammers will go down that buy/rent forum accounts road because the demand would cause prices to sky rocket. Aside from that, these accounts will easily stand out after the dev's post history is examined.

Meh. They'd only have to convince us (actually 1 - who's prolly a sock puppet, and everyone else follow the lead) that they've been a way for  bit "developing" their new coin. We're just that desperate that we'd believe it.

What do you mean ? "meh.."

Its more like YAY. Cheesy

The forum's shitcoin alert level is at an all time high. Look around, many ANN threads are struggling to make it past 50 pages. (thanks in part to happy fun time shitcoin wackin trolls such as myself and a few other notables.) Cheesy Grin Grin Cheesy

I said 'Meh' because I think they would go would down that road to obtain seasoned accounts! Think about it... if they're restricted because of their newbie status, they'd actually try to get an established account to make themselves seem credible.

And anyway... what happened to the days when this community demanded shit like whitepapers and shit? Literally, they're throwing these coins out there so fast that they don't even have time to publish the block rewards and difficulty level and shit!

Just hope bittrex is on the right chain lol

My thoughts exactly... But I wouldn't laugh about it!!! lol

Deposit to Bittrex taking awhile, showed as confirmed in my pools transaction page. Have a transaction id but there is no block explorer yet.....WONDER WHATS TAKING SO LOOOONG>>>>>>>>>

um, yes there is. Referenced many times in this thread and on the first page. Seems like your pool and Bittrex may be on a different fork...

427  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinbet.cc -- $340,000 stolen, the worst 45 days of my life. [Long] on: May 31, 2014, 03:10:25 AM
Looks to me like Mr.  Paul regan is enjoying spending your bitcoins by looking at his facebook account... same guy BitcoinzRulez said it was from the beginning... He is the leader to the answers and he is right in front of us all over social media

I'm almost positive this is the guy based on what I've seen. However no one has the initiative to go after him?  Listen I'm a lawyer in Massachusetts. Does anyone live in Massachusetts who lost money due to the coinbet scam?  I could help them out if no one is willing to go after them on their own...

Seeing as how he made a facebook post directly related to coinbet.cc, that is 100% proof it is him.

Can you guys post some screenshots or something? I'm not a FB'er so I'd have to use my imagination.

buy support on 1450 sat, i dont know what to do. continue to mine, or mine something else. If it is a scam why ~1000 workers on dedicated and nethashrate from 15-30Gh  Angry Undecided

Because some people are stupid and never learn.  This was a scam from the beginning but anyway let them get scammed if they are so desperate.

As long as people keep mining and buying coins like this then people will keep making them.
2.5% pre-mine is insane. You are asking to lose your money of you buy this.

I really wish exchanges (looking at you Bittrex) would not list coins with huge premines anymore. Just a waste of my time
having to keep reading all these ANN of coins that are junk. Even 5 minutes is precious time I could have used on something else.
This dilutes the market with garbage. I am all for the occasional fun and silly useless coin to buy and sell but 2.5% premine is just --- NO.

Amen! I simply can't keep up anymore.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PURE][X11] PURECOIN - NETHASH 89.5 GH/s | New CONF!! on: May 31, 2014, 03:06:06 AM
If that Puredev guy devoted his 1.6 BTC to the Mintpal voting, this coin would have a future.

Otherwise, DEATH.

This coin is dead regardless of any exchange. Where is VISA is what I would be asking.... otherwise this coin shit.

There was NEVER a real 'VISA'. Read the OP... it's not backed by VISA, it's backed by the devs themselves, which means they'd be operating as a financial institution - how many regulations you think just this alone break?

This is a pump n dump coin. Actually... it's probably more of a distraction tactic - launch a 'throw away' coin to distract those 'wanna get rich quick miners' so they can mine the coins that will actually have some utility in the future.
430  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: SatoshiHold - A very secure online/offline BTC wallet, now with an Android app! on: May 31, 2014, 02:56:38 AM
To use it you will need to create a passphrase on the SatoshiHold website first, then enter it into the application. Loading times will be slow on mobile devices, we are looking into speeding these times up.

Wait a second... wouldn't this actually give you access to the mobile wallet??
431  Economy / Lending / Re: Former Scammer Atonement on: May 31, 2014, 02:47:07 AM
This takes balls. I'm a scammed victim. And even though it wasn't you, your change of heart gives me that much more confidence in this community.

EDIT
but you know... this may not be the best way to handle this. Consider that most will think this is your way of buying trust. Well, technically it is. Still takes balls Smiley
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW POLL: Should newbs and Jr. members be barred from creating ALT ANN threads ? on: May 31, 2014, 02:36:57 AM
I think this rule somehow implies that all reliable developers are long-time bitcointalk members - which is pretty far from the truth.

It still amazes me that people are naming businesses after this forum's founder after he abandoned Bitcoin during its greatest hour of need and vanished into thin air with over 1 million bitcoins.

huh? Couldn't find the reference in the link you listed...
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of Newbie accounts and all create X13 coins!!! on: May 31, 2014, 02:27:53 AM
We can slow them down by creating special noobie jails.

Please take the time to vote and/or have your say.

Hell yes. Voted. Thanks for this.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEW POLL: Should newbs and Jr. members be barred from creating ALT ANN threads ? on: May 31, 2014, 02:27:24 AM
Maybe this will slow the rate of launches down. If you're out of the scene for a couple of days literally you're lost. Maybe a ban will also prevent puppet accounts - we all know some of these coins are developed by the same person, you know.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of Newbie accounts and all create X13 coins!!! on: May 31, 2014, 02:23:59 AM
Interesting observation....

Have you ever stopped to think that perhaps it may be the same 'group' of individuals launching these coins?  Could be coincidental, but to satisfy the conspiracy theorists out there: "they're" all in it together! Sitting back just laughing at us clowns on this forum. Just think about it... what's the average age of accounts now? Where da hell did they go?

I'm pretty sure that a lot of those coins are created by the same group of people. The question is more something like 'How many coins have a ACTIVE DEV 1 month after launch'? and then sadly we have to say that it is NOT a lot Sad And a lot of it got to do with the exchange that also only care about money!!! Now a coin got released and there are always exchanges that add it directly, they don't care if it is scam or not, they only care about that 0.002% fee, but when you have a coin with a trade volume of 10000BTCs then the exchange love it. Look at Whitecoin, etc

But you know they're all in it together... the exchanges, the pools... it's like the matrix Wink
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP!! Wallet will not sync : EXCEPTION:11DbException on: May 31, 2014, 02:17:42 AM
OK!!!

You guys are the techies and should be able to help this dude out.

Dude - it's PROCESS... meaning it's talking about your RAM resources not your hard drive! Look on the bottom of your miner at the AXE icon... You're CPU MINING!!!!! Check your miner's config file. Do you have gen=1 in there? Google what that means.

Question -

How many times did this coin fork?
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PURE][X11] PURECOIN - NETHASH 89.5 GH/s | New CONF!! on: May 31, 2014, 02:00:28 AM
Regardless of all the fun and games here... Can somebody please explain why when I download the wallet there is no QT.exe file? My other 50 wallets had one? There is a file called 'install' but it does nothing? Can't evem get the wallet to boot up. Help please?

Who the hell knows... at least you weren't mining on the wrong damn fork all day while at work.

You might want to venture over to the github and see what the windows readme file says.

Wait a sec... back at the house from being on the grind and I come back to this? Well over 100 connections - syncing, staking and solving but on the wrong freakin chain? How can this be when I'm using the nodes provided by the OP... the updated nodes!

I only checked 2 transactions, but that's enough to validate I suppose?
