421  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitvest.io provably fair rigging on: December 17, 2015, 09:08:28 AM
Quote
It means that they have time to pre-generate the next seeds you will use. Giving them a chance to give you sets of client/server seed combos that would ultimately lead to your bust. Most gamblers stick to a system or pattern when they roll, and given that the server and client seeds are changed for you, every roll, by THEIR systems, leaves anyone gambling on the site open to roll manipulation all while hiding under the disguise of a provably fair system.

We provide the hash of the next server seed we will use before receiving the player seed, therefore we cannot compute seeds after having knowledge of the client seed

Quote
The only way this sort of "provably fair system" would in fact be fair at all is if the user takes his time to re-enter a client seed of his own choice (Not the rigged one the server could give you) after EVERY roll. And let's be honest here, Most gamblers aren't even going to bother checking the seeds..

The server doesn't give you a "rigged" client seed, or any client seed at all. The client seed is generated using javascript by the client.

Quote
When I brought this up their moderators were extremely defensive and I believe one of their moderators/admins basically threatened to mute me for claiming the site was a scam without evidence.. Between the signature campaign payouts being botched recently and now the provable fair system being found to be exploitable by the developer, I would have a serious look at the site before you consider using it.

I was very transparent and completely explained how our system works, and the only potential flaws that exist, nobody threatened you, nor did anyone mute you.

The site is not down to any user actions, there is an issue with our hosting provider. More details will be provided shortly.

Update: Our hosting provider appears to have had an error with receiving our last bill payment, and appears to be unable to take payments from me or lightlord, seemingly there is no way to pay bills without receiving an error right now. We are calling their support line.

Update: The issue has been resolved, they'll be reconnecting our server in about 20 minutes.

Update: The "20 minutes" stated above was how long they said it'd be, we're still awaiting action on their end.

As long as the funds are tucked safely in the cold wallet all is good.

All deposits, minus a small % end up getting sent to our cold wallet automatically. The remainder (usually <5%) is kept in a hot to automatically process withdrawals.

Hi.

May I confirm that Bitvest assigns a new deposit address after every successful deposit? I noticed my deposit address has changed. Smiley

Yes, we generate a new address for each deposit for better privacy, however you may use any old address if you'd like as well.

There has been a minor change to how the faucet and investor payments work.

Any bets that are primarily funded by the faucet, on accounts with no recent deposits, a balance of <100K, and placing a bet a bet of <10K/bit, will be bet directly against the house instead of the investor bankroll. This means the house will be entirely responsible for the payout of this bet. All of the above conditions must be met for this to occur.

This will have no effect on the profit per bet investors should make. Just a small % of the total bet will be directly handled by the house. This is being done so that we may continue to offer our very high faucet rates.

I'll ask again since nobody answered last time, Smiley.

Where do the funds for the rain come from? Site profit or investor bankroll/profit?
All promos/rain/faucet payouts are paid for by the site. Investors are only ever involved in game profits/losses.

Menu of the game cover playing field on my android phone. Can you fix it? Make the menu, which can be hidden.
the left side interface will be having a major update within the next 24 hours for improved mobile, and small screen support.
2. For bankroll investment, the default multiplier setting gives a max loss of 5% per bet while the games has a house edge of slightly less than 2%. It is IMHO better to make the default setting align with Kelly formula but allow investors to take more/less risks if they prefer.

The risk here is different from most dice sites, we use a base of 5% since the maximum loss is much more unlikely than on a dice site. In most cases high risk lines like 5x in the middle will drop to 2% base risk for example. In other cases, the max win is much more unlikely than a dice site due to not being all-or-nothing

Contest still going, the signatures don't work at all from starofbtc, doesn't fit.
I should clarify this point, some are too tall to fit.

Congratulations to minx for hitting the red jackpot (1111x) at max bet and winning 2.20963929 BTC!

What a nice hit on the beginning days of bitvest. Hope he did not lose bigger amount than 2btc before he hit this jackpot.
I'm sure he will try to hit it again, and I think he need bigger max payout. Would you bitvest increase the max winning amount? Wink

If more people invest, the limits will increase. Also, he definitely left quite a bit up Smiley

On the verification tab, it states "If Player Seed is left blank, one will be randomly chosen by your browser every game." but it doesn't seem to be working like that. I have left the field blank, and I am having the same seed all the time. I am using Firefox 41.0.2 on Win 7.
Fixed

Just pushed out some more updates! We've added leaderboards, tweaked the theme a bit, and added global investment data to the infobox in the top right.

Could you kindly update the official post with the end date of this contest so the designers would know the deadline of it ... it's a nice thing to see that you reward each entry by each design they do for each rank and give more chance to all of us...i'll participate soon
There is no official end date yet, but I can say it will be very likely running for at least another 4 - 5 days.
