This coin can be better than just another pump and dump if the dev can get it into the eSports scene, even if it starts small...

maybe it's possible to organize something with Teamliquid, they have already done some tournament in btc, we can do it in MIN instead
That's a very good idea, but sadly I don't know anyone from TL community. I'll see if I can get in touch with some more known entities in the SC2 scene.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: June 18, 2014, 09:16:08 AM
My PC keeps rebooting itself after a few minutes of running ccminer. It's a Win8 x64 machine with a H81 Asrock BTC Pro board, and five EVGA 750 ti cards (no overclock). I can't get the 6th card to show up in windows yet so that's a  work in progress.

On JPC algo the pc reboots itself after about 30 seconds, on X13 it lasts about 2 minutes or so. Any ideas?
Got the same setup just with Win 7 and it works perfectly fine. Did you plug all the power coords correctly ? (I didn't use the 2nd mobo power plug)

What setting are ppl getting with Gigabytes 280x-ox-3DG

i cant run  stock setting 1100/1500 @ 1200
1030/1500 @1200 is stable but getting less then 330h/s  per card

Asus 280x dc2 get 376h/s stock  but these Gigabytes are a pain in the ass
Elpida ram?
Probably it's because of the Elpida. A lot of people here complained about big differences in performance between cards with one thing in common so far, the ram type.
It seems that Elpida is vastly under performing.

why the exchange can stake coin? isn't the pos not enabled? or at least this how it should be

the reason you are seeing more blocks is because POS has started. It is not safe to start POS right at the end of POW because the block chain might stuck (some coins were having this problem).

Oh wow, diff went sky high... At 500mil right now Shocked was like 3.3mil yesterday (at least it was at some point).

If I was to setup a mining machine with quad 750 Ti's powered by a sempron 145, would 4gb of ram be enough to run ccminer efficiently, or would 8gb be needed?

I tried to run 4x 750 Ti's with my sempron 145 and 2gb of ram a few months ago and that didn't end well. If anyone is currently running their miners with a low powered CPU such as a Sempron 145 I'd appreciate if you chimed in. Smiley
Running 3x750 Ti's on the cheapest available Sempron with 2 GB of RAM.  Still on ccminer v1.0 .. getting 5.75 Mh/s total for X11... no overclocking.  ccminer uses ~15% of the cpu.  I wouldn't recommend 2 GB on windows though... that sounds like a nightmare... this box runs Xubuntu and has free ram still.  Built the box before I had heard of X11... thanks to the authors of cudaminer/ccminer, the box is more profitable than ever.
Sadly Windows needs more than 2GB Sad 4GB is the bare minimum of what I'd recommend to use with Windows

Damn, time passed quick quickly with coin. Hopefully it was worth it.

@Dev, any progress with getting the coin out there?

Wow, what a disappointment. After all the crap you wrote about other vaporware companies you decided to team up with one? So freaking low.

I hope no one is going to preorder this crap.

Who cares if it looks good, it's over priced as fuck. 1505$ for a 2x r9 270x "mining rig" - if you can call it that.
And tbh, it doesn't even look that good. Black case with some bits of photoshop...
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is scrypt mining ever going to be worth it again? on: June 17, 2014, 10:50:43 AM
You assume that miners are the ones that affect the price of the coin.. they don't. It's mostly outside investors that do.
When small miners can't mine a coin anymore they move on to a different coin, they don't go and buy it (thus increasing the buy force).
So small miners are pushed out, big miners take over, but the market will still get the same amount of coins added to it at any given time with the exception of halving - that, for instance, does drive the price up, but it's also not related to ASIC at all.

The fact that a coin is harder for YOU to mine it doesn't tell much about its price.

The supply of cryptocoins, any cryptocoin, is always constant with the exception of said halving. So only the demand can and will affects the price of the coin.

What's the trouble?
win8.1 64
5 280x
1800h

Try lowering your clocks. I get it when I overclock to much for some unknown reason... O_o
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is scrypt mining ever going to be worth it again? on: June 16, 2014, 08:13:07 PM
which is the opposite of supply and demand.
supply and demand would say that ...because the availability of these coins is going to go down, due to the huge spike in mining speed, that the supply would go down, and the price would go up. However, from what I am reading, they are saying the asic moning of scrypt coins will kill all alt scrypt coins and the price will go down.
How is the supply going down? ASIC, or rather, higher network hash rate, doesn't affect the supply of coins that's been added to the system...
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is scrypt mining ever going to be worth it again? on: June 16, 2014, 08:06:16 PM
I think the new scrypt miners are asic driven, not gpu driven.
Ofc they are.

and what from what I am reading on this thread and several other threads about the new 80-100, 250, and 400Mh asic driven miners, it is suggested that they will drive the price of crypto coins (scrypt driven, or gpu driven, whatever) down.
No need for future tense. You can look at what's been happening the past few months with the smaller sized ASIC that been flooding the market.

What? How did you get to the conclusion that it's the opposite in crypto? (cause it's not).

am I reading the above wrong or what?

You wrote "I would ask someone to explain the significance of why this is just the opposite with crypto coins."
But it's not the opposite...

The speculation is that the new asic scrypt miners will drive the price of the coins down, not up.

I will be the first to admit I am wrong if I surely AM reading it wrong. I would love to see them go up, but as far as I  can tell, that won't be the case.

Personally all these 100-200-300MH ASIC Scrypt killer's will smash most coins and you will be lucky to break even but I could be wrong..

How are ASIC devices are related to supply and demand?
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is scrypt mining ever going to be worth it again? on: June 16, 2014, 07:42:40 PM
just a quick question about supply and demand.

isn't it supposed to go:
the more demand, the shorter the supply, thus driving the price up, not down, kind of like gasoline, or corn?

I would ask someone to explain the significance of why this is just the opposite with crypto coins.

I actually thought this might come up, with the original post.
What? How did you get to the conclusion that it's the opposite in crypto? (cause it's not).

Not sure what's the problem with the multipool? Why do I care if some GH/s farms will buy MIN? It will only drive the price up which will increases the numbers of miners involved with the coin and IMO in the long will help stabilizing it.
More people involved the more stable it is. Wasn't it the idea with this coin to begin with? Spread the coin as much as possible by limiting the hash per account allowing more people to have more coins?

More so because they gotta mine using one of MINs own pool and not some random shit dedicated pool.

Is there anyone from oldschool starcraft broodwar?

yes me, do you remember the stats of stinkytemplar, think he had the worse losing streak on purpose.

No I don't remember this nick. I used to play on FSGS and ICCUP.

I have an idea: let's do Broodwar tournament with MIN for winners?
Or even let's do server with ratings and MIN rewards?
What rank were you in ICCUP? (I only got to b-)

And it doesn't have to be BW only, can do SC2 tournaments with MIN rewards, spread throughout blizzard forums and use it as a tip coin (similar to what Reddit does with DOGE).

Just gotta group up one time, brainstorm and spread the tasks.

The price is down on c-cex, net hashrate is down from 6 pool, so i think Minerals is dead.

I'm out
All you do is post garbage in this thread yet you pretend to be mining this? GTFO already.
