Real Sociedad is not as strong as last season, they are far behind the top four in the current standings. The defeat against Sevilla again complicated Real Sociedad chances of securing tickets to European competition next season. The best chance they have is to appear in the European Confederation League, with the condition that they have to wait for Real Betis to stumble first. In the last five matches, Real Sociedad was only able to achieve one win in La Liga, maybe in Week 28 they can secure full points because they face a mediocre club, namely Granada. The decline in performance towards the end of the season was very painful, especially after failing in the Copa del Rey.
On the other hand, Real Sociedad chance of turning things around in the second leg looks impossible, because PSG has a 2 goal advantage. It could be said that Real Sociedad progress in the Champions League this season only reached the round of 16, even though in the group phase they managed to finish in first place without being defeated. Only great luck can bring Real Sociedad through to the quarter finals, because PSG has the complete attributes to win in the second leg.
