421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong Moves With Your Bitcoin on: February 14, 2024, 09:53:46 PM
Well for those who've been around long enough, I think it's important for those whom haven't to understand what we've been though.  There was and still isn't a guarantee that bitcoin is going to blast off and continue with its climb up north.  So for many of us, selling our bitcoin when we've been up a few thousand percentage points, not knowing what the future holds, you can't really blame yourself.

Same thing goes with Laszlo and his 10k btc pizza.
Without these supposedly wrong moves with Bitcoin as OP says, people wouldn’t learn or wouldn’t get confidence in what they ought to do or what’s the best thing they should do with their Bitcoin.
Now, having to spend your Bitcoin when the opportunity presents itself isn’t a worst move, nope. It’s just some unavoidable circumstance that requires you utilizing that medium and maybe, experimenting Bitcoin spending in that moment because, you couldn’t do anything else.

You don’t blame yourself over that. You get to learn from history based on where you didn’t really anticipate or speculate the charts to be and then, you find price beating that mark and being a confident booster for you. Rather than regretting, build from where you are.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if? (2) on: February 14, 2024, 09:44:23 PM
Am internet apocalypse even for a month long would be very unhealthy for the rest of us that benefits from the interconnected space like the internet. Not only for Bitcoin per se as, a lot of other uses have been accorded the internet and that includes communications too, electronic money transfer and having to send/retrieve data. These are all vital aspects to life.

NASA haven’t given any warning yet and they seem like the body that would be in the best place to tell the rest of the word what actually is been observed from there different expeditions to space. If they’ve not been alarmed about what is going on out of space, then we should be eased to some extent.

As for Bitcoin, I think it would be halt but, would resume there after when we’ve have a stable network should any of such breakdown occur. We would pass it and maybe, people would have the opportunity to buy from weak hands.
423  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: February 13, 2024, 10:49:42 PM
Jobs that are easier to obtain get paid less due to the fact that almost anyone can do them. Too much competition is bad for job pay.

The market regulates itself. At least that is how I see it.

That person who worked their youth off earning a degree and is now using it to apply their skills and get paid, deserves it too and hence the pay discrimination will always be present.

Hence people should not be lazy and work hard to find their passion and pursue it to be able to reach a job that is keeping their satisfied and paid.
Nothing humans actually do to improve themselves is a waste. While there are those that goes through some institutions of formal learning, some might go through some technical schools while others might just attach themselves to established persons in a skill with hopes of learning and acquiring that skill.
You shouldn’t expect there not to be a discrimination in the pay grade. Even on the forum, there is a discrimination on pay grade for campaigns based on attachment/experience as projected by the ranking.

There are careers with backings  and recommendations as against others and that’s what a very gives you as against someone that doesn’t have any certification. One who has gone through the stress and haven’t spent resources in acquiring a certification and practical knowledge in a field definitely deserves more.
424  Economy / Economics / Re: Surviving the economy with creative thinking. on: February 13, 2024, 10:33:10 PM

Over the years, the human brain has been referred to as a much room, where it’s always ready to accumulate more and more knowledge without getting saturated at any point. This is why, you could find humans exerting a higher powered and might just be the most dangerous specie that ever is and it is as well, the one specie that can profound solution to the problems that arise within it’s(our) society.

The world has seen so many advancement that, in order to flow with the trends and be competitive, you need to be able to adjust and adapt quickly to the changes in the surrounding as well as, adding to what creativity that exists out there.

You also need to be creative on how to manage and utilize available resources to be sustainable and project into the feature based on current occurrences. The economy isn’t giving much room for any laxity else, you find yourself going bankrupt.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where Do You Want To Go To If You Win $2 million On Lottery on: February 13, 2024, 10:20:31 PM
The post might be where I would be but maybe, with this free money, I would increase my Bitcoin portfolio to something that brings my hodlings to a substantial amount that would give me some comfort.

Maybe I’ll probably go to one of those forbidden places, Islands, historical sites and places like that which some dark shady history just to end my life as with $2million, I would have had it all, lol…

I’ve never had to think of winning that much from a lottery or gambling and should that be the case, I would try to be relaxed, not draw much attention to myself and gradually push life the way I see it fit with $2million top up for a balance.

Fuck it, I'm gambling it all on Darwin Nunez. It should have been Salah, everything was set up for him to return and to be triple captain in double GW.
Now I need to pick a 3rd LFC player and there's nobody I like. Diaz hasn't really contributed, midfielders rarely score/assist and Trent is a cointoss.

I just hope that all City players that I have remain healthy - otherwise my whole plan was for nothing.
You said this just the way I’ve thought of it.
I don’t really fancy Darwin Nunez but at the moment, he seems like the best choice for a DGW from Liverpool. The rest are just unreliable, neither is Darwin Nunez but, it’s easy to expect him make out a goal or two within the DGW. If Salah was available, it would have been a much different story.
Diogo Jota might seem like another nice option but, I don’t place much hopes on him either.

We just might be rocking Darwin Nunez after all and have his price go up.

FPL could be such a trier and error chance at times. I got Palmer on my team and had him on for GW3 & Gw4 and he proved unproductive in the two game weeks and just now that I have him on the bench with Chelsea playing from an away side against a Crystal Palace that have got most of its squad back from the international competitions, Chelsea gets to beat Crystal Palace in a 1:3 victory match with Palmer getting 2 assists and match bonus to earn 10points, 10points on the bench while, Richarlison, Foden and Bowen didn’t often anything worth their time for the game week, being in my midfield.

For the DGW, am still looking out for who’s best in Liverpool and Manchester City but, can’t make a pick. I already have Foden and Haaland for City but, no Liverpool player because, am not quite sure I could settle for Darwin and Salah have got a probability on his playing chance.

Ola Aina was our major contributor to the super eagle lost of the trophy tonight, first defensive error that brought about the Conner kick which Ivory Coast used to equalize the first goal and the second that the opponent player ran through Ola Aina and crossed the ball as his wing was too porous, and the goal came as a result of his laxity in today's game, another problem to the game was the super went on defense game when they came back for the second half instead of playing massive attack and massive defense.
At first when I saw Ola Aina play in the first game of the group stage, I wasn’t quiet comfortable with him as I couldn’t help but notice his sagged shorts and I attributed that to him not being serious on the pitch as it could restrict his movement and runs but, he proved more than capable to mark and win over just any tackle his involved in. His confidence is next to non on the super eagles team and his sure to give nothing but his absolute.

The only game I saw Super eagles to have shown true quality was when they played in the semi finals. Other than that, I didn’t enjoy the rest of there games. They seemed to have just a managed it all but, that’s not how you win a final. You don’t manage to win a final, you’ve just got to be the absolute best.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 11, 2024, 10:49:27 PM
I didn’t think, I believed it. I just didn’t see CIV by any chance beating football giants like Africa. Though, there story might be beautiful, being the host, qualifying as best losers of the group stage and managing it to the finals, they have more than enough reason to want and hope to win this one but, against a team like Nigeria, they’ve got to bring there best game on.

I guess they did bring out their best game in the second half and scored two goals to have them win the game and ultimately, the tournament. I did think Nigeria would have won the game but the better side won the game.
I guess this makes their journey from being the best losers in the group stage to tournament winners quite a beautiful journey and apparently, they did have enough reason and drive to want to win this one.
The super eagles greatly disappointed me. I saw an assemblage of a team that can take this trophy to the Nigerian soil but, turned out to be very reluctant on attack. At first it felt like they weren’t just getting there moves right the few times they went on the offensive but when beaten 2:1, the pressure Nigeria mounted on the CIV side got me asking… where did they keep this sort of play? If they had dared to be that offensive, they’d sure would have had more goals and the Ivorians wouldn’t have had any chance on the attack.

It’s indeed a beautiful story, written by them and finished by the Nigerians for them to be this reluctant at their plays and the Ivorians have got some good picture to the history books of the AFCON.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 11, 2024, 09:15:59 PM
MU managed to win the match against hosts Aston Villa through a winning goal scored by Mc. Tominay in the 86th minute. I think MU will only end in a draw. An expensive win for MU, because with this result MU can reduce the points gap with Aston Villa. The next match, MU will meet Luton Town, it should be an easy opponent for MU.
To be honest, I don't know if Manchester United will be able to win against Aston Villa and this is quite surprising to many people. Red Devils fans are very happy with the performance of their favorite team and this could be the start of the revival they have been waiting for for a long time. Luton shouldn't make it difficult for Manchester United because they managed to prove their victory by beating Aston Villa.
It’s what I would call a lucky win, seriously.
When you get to look at how Aston Villa played at the Villa park, they played with so much pressure, all attempts to go forward was very threatening but, they weren’t able to take most of there chances, didn’t get some of them in the right spot and as such, they missed taking there opportunities. After having their equalizer with the Douglas Luiz goal, they didn’t do them self solid and let Manchester United get the best of them once more.

One humiliating game today was the West Ham United match. Like, 6 goals to nothing from a home side. Arsenal was on fire.

I too think Nigeria would win the game. I had the thought immediately they emerged victorious in the game against South Africa. Few minutes till the half time and so far, they haven’t been playing so well looking at the match stats, but that’s irrelevant as they’ve managed to score a goal and get ahead in the match.

Nigeria have been seating back all game like they do most of there games, just absorbing the pressure from CIV and ready to utilize a best opportunity when it this created itself and then very first set piece have given just the needed result to go on the offensive. CIV would feel the pressure of Nigeria in the second half.

Manchester City managed to defeat Everton at home with Haaland's goals.City managed to play a dominant game against Everton, but I think City didn't want to push too hard because of the champions league match to be played in the week, otherwise they played with the potential to score more goals against Everton.
I wouldn’t call 2:0 and a game where Manchester City dominated mange. These guys defeated Everton but not with a huge score line. Haaland registered two goals to his name which means his actually back to his scoring ways and it’s yet another needed 3 points for Pep. We would soon be seeing a terrifying and title contending Manchester City in the EPL once more.

Wolves is one team that I didn’t expect to lose todays game but it’s very surprising how they lost to Brentford in a home game. This team has always been soft when they play mid tier teams but the story is very different when playing with a top tier team.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 11:35:46 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.
Have a regular and sustainable source of income,
Have plans for every money you’ve got and
Redefine your purpose for gambling.

Maybe it would start with you building a mindset that, it’s not entirely good for you. This will gradually push you into defense mood or should I say, safe mood. You wouldn’t want to gamble because you want to make money, you wouldn’t see the need to gamble every other day.
You will only gamble because the opportunity presented itself and you just want to have that fun in that moment with nothing more.
You’ll find yourself in charge of your gambling habit.
434  Economy / Economics / Re: Opportunities During Economic Downturns? on: February 09, 2024, 11:30:00 PM
Are there any potential benefits that can arise from inflation, recession, or economic downturns? As they say, necessity is the mother of invention.
Obviously this happens.
Coming home to a nation like mine, I recall having noted people in my locality taking advantage of the various occurrences that might have come with some adversities to benefit themselves.

On a global scale, the Covid-19 situation reminded us of our hygiene and created a market for hygienic items like hand sanitizers, nose mask and the rest of them.

Lack of cash in my locality pushed for a more cashless policy and a new brand of business like the buying of cash from people that uses point of purchase or sales machine. Where you just get your debit card run on their device, your given your value in cash and you pay a fee for the service.

For those who are able to look, they can see the opportunity there and utilize it. The issue is, don’t use it for an opportunity to exploit the people.
435  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor people need solution now on: February 09, 2024, 11:18:30 PM
Leave your goverment currency and issue your own Community money.
Good initiative, the police will catch you because you're issuing your own currency when your government didn't accept your currency as legal tender.
If that be what OP is suggesting, it’s a crime against the state and one that wouldn’t be handled with pity. It’s a betrayal of your flag and you would go in for it but, this isn’t what OP is actually saying if I understood OP correctly.

OP didn’t mean the persons from these producing part of the world having to create and issue a currency but, see the value of their products for a currency. Actually selling their products at a price that gives them great comfort and not follow any preset exchange rate.

If only that could work but nope. Don’t forget, the government is into farming too, giving out loans and creating policies about them, carrying out genetic engineering to get better breeds of food and cash crops. Having standard for import and exports. So long as you leave within the state, you must always be bounded by its rules.
436  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The need to acquire an asset now on: February 09, 2024, 11:08:58 PM

Not all assets are an investment, hope you know that?

We happen to misunderstand these things because of the part of the world we live in or come from. Where we hardly pay taxes for the things we own, in fact, we don’t even pay at all. We just enjoy what we’ve archived and that’s it but, not all assets serves for an investment. Some are a liability. Once you’re paying for maintenance, paying taxes on them and they aren’t fetching you any money in return, it’s a liability.
Arguably, owning a house has been put in this category. Maybe not having to own a house down here but, in developed societies.
It saves you from having to pay rent but, you still get to be taxed on it and the many amenities you enjoy.

That’s why Bitcoin suits for a proper investment at this time, it’s not being taxed except declared in some instances.

Meanwhile, it pays to archive goals for a lifetime, I wouldn’t say asset but, money fetching asset. Perhaps if people really view opportunities to be once in a lifetime and some means to save guard there future, they would be sure to make good use of them when they eventually find it.
437  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How dollar rise take affect the prices of things? on: February 09, 2024, 10:56:28 PM

This no be typical question way concern the forum but still, we get corner for the forum as Nigerians and this na something way Dey affect us so, e no bad to talk about am.

No be lie say, there have been a dollarization of our economy so tay, our currency don fall for ground yakata. E don turn one means to spend big and if you Dey deal in dollar, e go con look as though, na you Dey run the town. The matter just cast and e start from the top con enter the bottom.

Now where the matter spoil be say, we no Dey value made or produced in Nigeria. You for think say na for imported products e end o but, e Dey materialize for we everyday and even local products via say,
Mama way Dey sell maggi, e go like carry money way e realize buy salt. Mama way Dey sell salt, e go like use the stock fish. Brother way Dey sell stock fish, e go like use the money buy body spray, wrist watch, phone and so on. Na from there the money Dey grow, from the person way Dey sell imported items. E go increase am to meet up en sales. Person way wan buy from am, e go increase the service or product e dey sell to use generate money way e go use buy from person way dey import items and just like that, the trend continues.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 08, 2024, 11:57:30 PM
The South African team were good enough and that made the game become so tough for the super eagle to win, and coupled with the fact that Victor Osimhen was disallowed, and this made the players became a bit demoralized to continue playing because it was few minutes away from the 90th minutes time to finish.

Now two same group stage team contenders happened to be meeting in the final game, where the Super eagle team has more upper hand to lift this trophy because they won Ivory Coast during their group stage game.
South Africa played good football, they had several terrifying through ball and their speed always kept them ahead of to get the ball but surprisingly, they didn’t get to utilize any of them and finished. Thanks to the Nigerian defense which were just good at their job. After South Africa got their equalizer, they came at Nigeria in such a way that, they could have ended the game before the final whistle but, Nigeria managed it.
I think they lost it with the lots of confidence they had in themselves for the penalty. They were just concentrated on holding the game to a shootout because of the confidence in their goalkeeper Williams but, that little underestimation on the super eagles is what proved to be there downfall.
It’s Nigeria in the finals and they’ve got the third place to play for. Still good for them, perhaps they could win Congo.
439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be the Person [poster] You Should Be on: February 08, 2024, 11:51:03 PM
Because this forum is the most active discussion space for many of the things raised, I want to say make good use of every discussion. There is no need to write or express something that is beyond our ability to make it appear to others that we are great while what is conveyed is misleading or substantially wrong.
you have to accept it the way it is - people will always find a way to manipulate things that are particularly outta their control.
I almost laughed my guts out when I saw this statement.

It’s just human nature to attempt things. Even when they know it’s likely not going to end well, they hope to bang on the fact that, it’s their first time, forgiveness of noted would be in place but, hope on grace not to be found. I wouldn’t blame anyone for this though, it’s just people leveraging where they are and their amount of freedom. Also, not everyone gets to follow the rules, it’s simple variety in human behavior.

Despite this fact, we still would see those that hopes to try and not stray from presets on a platform and sometimes, they get the rewards that follow.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 08, 2024, 11:39:29 PM
This was how I found FreeWallet, I use this to store some Bitcoin, it was easier for me because it required only email login and password, I stumbled on some that ask me to write down recovery seed but it was stressful for me, stupid me, since Free wallet sync with my email I thought that's all that matters and I lost it all, can't log into my account anymore, as if Freewallet swapped my password and log in info.
Oh no! You just might have done this to yourself mate, it’s not entirely about you not having to get yourself a hardware wallet or saving your coins on some cold storage but, having to choose custodian wallet as against non custodian just because, it doesn’t require an email to be synchronized with or for the fact that it requires of you to write down your seed phrase.
You ought to understand that what seems so easy to use could have security flaws as well.

Haven’t been here for sometime, it would have been a wise decision to have switched from using custodian wallet to a non custodian wallet. Perhaps you got more comfortable with the wallet you’ve built your Bitcoin journey about but, should you value your coin any more, your sense of security should have kicked in. Maybe it was your part to learn the hard way and sure you did learn.
