CPU mining is interesting, I might set it up on my unused PC.

Did we fork/update the animecoin wallet? The reason why I ask, is because I read a section in the dark coin faq where it said that the wallet gets stuck at a certain block and will not progress from there. This was caused by a hard fork in the wallet.

I currently have six active connections to the animecoin network, it would be great to get some more nodes to add.

I'd also like to set up a website which we can rent our computing power as a community out to miners for other coins, so that we can be paid in ani and start circulating the currency by putting it into use and hopefully increase the value of animecoin so that people can eventually use it to buy anime/manga.

I've done it for a while, am currently working on a mining distro for animecoin and other crypto currencies. Also working on an android wallet for animecoin and an auction website for animecoin products, it would be great to get some more developers to help develop some of these services for animecoin.

Abstract
— Covert channels can be used to circumvent system and network policies by establishing communications that have not been considered in the design of the computing system. We construct a covert channel between different computing systems that utilizes audio modulation/demodulation to exchange data between the computing systems over the air medium. The underlying network stack is based on a communication system that was originally designed for robust underwater communication. We adapt the communication system to implement covert and stealthy communications by utilizing the ultrasonic frequency range. We further demonstrate how the scenario of covert acoustical communication over the air medium can be extended to multi-hop communications and even to wireless mesh networks. A covert acoustical mesh network can be conceived as a meshed botnet or malnet that is accessible via inaudible audio transmissions. Different applications of covert acoustical mesh networks are presented, including the use for remote keylogging over multiple hops. It is shown that the concept of a covert acoustical mesh network renders many conventional security concepts useless, as acoustical communications are usually not considered. Finally, countermeasures against covert acoustical mesh networks are discussed, including the use of lowpass filtering in computing systems and a host-based intrusion detection system for analyzing audio input and output in order to detect any irregularities.

Also, are the involved Masternodes known? As in, are they all still there, etc.? If so, he hasn't really done anything wrong yet, just disappeared (I agree, disappearing is "bad", but I don't think there's anything illegal about it?).

Yes, ddink7 is right. It's early to make assumptions: It would make no sense that DZ acted dishonestly, he had a lot to earn as MasterNode admin, and he has shared so much of his personal info.

I am sure something unexpected happened to DZ and everything will be fine in the end.

FWIW, I sent DZ 750 DRK and then decided to increase my DRK holdings and set up my own masternode myself. I requested a refund of the 750 DRK stake and received it within 48 hours. Maybe I was just lucky, I don't know. Just feel like I should post that here.

DyslexicZombei has never connected again since July 06, but even DZ's partner, "thomas_s", who whenever I check is always online, has NEVER replied to my PMs.

The idea for this service is great, but there seems to be nothing good coming from here, and (even if they reappear tomorrow, and even bring us payouts) I do not want to continue.

I do not believe they are going to run away, because there's not this much money involved: reputation value still matters, but unfortunately things went the way they are until now.

OK here's a quick way to get a few droplets running on digital ocean: ( Instead of Digital Ocean, I have created a (1 year FREE) Amazon AWS EC2 )

Currently only the official miner is working, will update when improved version is good to go.

Create a droplet:

Set the host name
Select the cheapest $5/mo (or most expensive if you like)
Select "Debian 7.0 x64" which is Debian under the Linux Distributions tab ( I have chosen Ubuntu t2 )
Once created, you will receive an email with the IP address, username, and password.

Download putty from here: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

Enter the IP address of the server and connect.

Login with the details provided in the email.

Then paste in the following (line by line if you like)

( I had to do it as root, so: )

sudo passwd -l root
sudo su -

( then I have continued with the original tutorial: )

Then edit the file with:

sudo nano /etc/supervisor/conf.d/anime.conf

Paste in the following remembering to change the pool (-o), worker or address (-u) and password (-p)


Press control-x and save


This will start the mining. You can then monitor with:

Check everything looks ok, then shutdown the droplet:

Go back to the control panel on digitalocean, and create a snapshot.

You can then create 4 more droplets from this image. If you have unique worker names, you'll have to login and change them using the nano command above.
