421  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitfinex turning into Mt. Gox? on: April 21, 2017, 09:14:48 PM
But why even use Bitfinex when there's Poloniex.
As far as I am aware Poloniex doesn't offer direct fiat  <=> cryptocurrency trades. They use USDT instead.
Tethered dollars have limited functionality, so this is  the main reason Bitfinex is superior for vast majority of customers who don't care about altcoins.

422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the next "BIG THING" in the altcoin world on: April 20, 2017, 04:16:51 PM
What do you guys think of the Quantum project? I have seen signatures with their logo, they started aggressive promotion on bitcointalk.
I read though their announcement thread and I have mixed feelings. Has any coin before tried that system of periodical coin destruction?
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: April 20, 2017, 04:12:06 PM
I read that roadmap and I gotta say I am quite impressed with the goals.
I wanted to ask, how exactly vDice developers know that they are at least 18 months ahead of the competition, not a year, not 20 months?
How this value was calculated exactly? Also who they think is vDice's direct competitor?
424  Economy / Economics / Re: Design The Perfect Bank on: April 20, 2017, 04:06:31 PM
The ideal is one that allows you to have a dedicated manager in an agency close to your home,
That is ideal, but online banks tend to not have luxury of having local offices.

And i want to add: to open an account easily, quickly 100% online.
I prefer online banking. I have not visited my bank agency since about 3 years.
Opening account is easy, there is a problem when you need to close the account because you are disappointed with terms bank offers.
I experienced many times situation when I opened bank account and after year bank added some ridiculous fee.
It is always far complicated to close unneeded account and get rid of the problem than to open it.
425  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Africa on: April 20, 2017, 04:01:03 PM
Hope this will give me a clear understanding of the direction that Africa should take in embracing Bitcoin. If the answer is positive will inquire about how Africa can adopt cryptocurrency.
I don't want to ruin your hopes, but vast majority of African countries are unfit to be good planting grounds for cryptocurrency.
The poorer the country the harder is to introduce bitcoin to it. Especially now when on-chain Bitcoin transaction cost around half a dollar each.
First things first, African countries need water, good stable governments and peace. Not bitcoin.

428  Economy / Speculation / Re: "The price of your bitcoin is 1000 times overvalued" on: April 17, 2017, 08:24:45 AM
i do laugh at those that only care about a future FIAT value while pretending "banks are bad, governments are bad"
I share your opinion, but we also can't focus on Bitcoin alone and detach ourselves from linking it to fiat, not yet.
We don't and we won't have "bitcoin only" economy, not in the foreseeable future.
I don't want to focus on fiat to btc value relation, but I have no choice, although flawed by design, this is the only benchmark we have.

430  Economy / Economics / Re: "European Central Bank: Still Too early for Blockchain Technology" on: April 15, 2017, 12:26:15 AM
The European Union's central bank today once again shot down the idea that it might use distributed ledger tech as part of its market infrastructure in the near future.

Published alongside the latest annual report from the European Central Bank, released on  tuesday, was a feature on the tech. While largely written in broad strokes, the paper reiterates a position expressed in the past by ECB officials – namely, that the central bank isn't likely to tap distributed ledgers in the near future.

Do you think eurozone central banking should embrace distributed ledger technology?
It is not question whether they should or shouldn't  - they simply cannot do it at all. How exactly would that work?
Blockchain which is not backed by significant number of hashing power is nothing more than glorified name for  standard database.
Do you think that few government servers would be enough to provide serious level of security for this tech?
Because I can't imagine that central bank would share their database with citizens or allow them participate in this project.

flawed Evolution, instamine as a 'feature' and not to mention how many rebrandings they had alredy, three? Will never be really competitive coin suitable for mass adoption.
432  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: April 13, 2017, 12:15:31 AM

There are many reasons why the Muslims are more prone to terrorism. Islam discourages the study of modern science, and on the other hand, encourages "religious study". Also, Islam promises 72 virgins and similar stuff for those who behead the infidels.
Although I am a religious Muslim, I have never heard of that 72 virgins or whatever. Besides, what kind of infidels are you talking about? By the way, most of who blow themselves up are engineers, technicians, doctors, programmers, 'educated people', etc.
Religion can brainwash you despite you being 'educated' or 'intelligent' there are many psycho tricks which can be used to influence people.
Do you ever wondered why even the most intelligent people can be a members of idiotic religious movement like 'Scientology'?
If you are being indoctrinated and breed in the right environment you will do anything for your religion.

Another thing: intelligence is compartmental. We had many superior thinkers, scientists, inventors, philosophers.
They were superior in their own field of expertise but were complete morons in their personal lives because they could never learn how human social interaction really worked.
Don't be a fool and think that great doctor can fix your motorcycle because he know how to fix people or that Albert Einstein was closer to the real religion because he was great astrophysicist.

433  Economy / Speculation / Re: No SegWit? No $10k Bitcoin. It's that simple.. on: April 12, 2017, 12:25:04 AM
Someone can tell me why SegWit takes so long to activate for Litecoin? We seem to be stuck around ~70% since 2 weeks.
Who and why is blocking it, Chinese Miners are trying to control the network again and block SegWit?
If this continue LTC will suffer the same fate as Bitcoin which is forever stuck between Bitcoin Unlimited and SegWit.

435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: April 10, 2017, 04:27:46 PM
As vDice is dealing with specialized tokens/coins for gambling why not vDice think about offering zero house edge based gambling experiences. I guess it will be possible for vDice too as we do see there are projects getting ready based on edgeless concept.

Zero house edge will help as a very much effective promotions on attracting gamblers. Because theoretically gamblers will have more chances to win through this.

But to run any business for a longer time, one should get a profit, and without profit, no business can survive longer. But what can do is for a couple of hours they can make it a zero % house edge to attract more people instead of making completely zero percent house edge. All casinos need a funds to maintain site and run the promotions for that they have to make a profit so don't expect any site can run for long with zero percent house edge.
Yes I am aware of that. I am talking about zero house edge only because of specialized tokens. I believe there are many differences between playing with an universal medium of exchange (ex: bitcoin) and  specialized medium of exchange (ex: vSlice). The house edge could be covered when universal medium of exchange will be spending for buying the specialized medium of exchange.
There is only one reason for potential use of vSlice token, it is: whether this method will be better i.e. cheaper in any way that using ETH.
If house edge and every other parameter will stay the same then there is very little incentive to even own vSlice for the purpose of using it to gamble.

436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Most Undervalued Coin of 2017! on: April 09, 2017, 02:52:29 PM
Why no one suggested Bitcoin yet? Seriously, this is the most undervalued coin ever. By several thousands dollars.
According to Metcalfe's Law the price of Bitcoin should be in the region of $5,000 – $8,000 per coin.
If you want to know how exactly this is calculated, you can see it here:

437  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Luckbit.co.in - do they pay? on: April 08, 2017, 04:44:23 PM
So I finally amassed 10k satoshi and requested a payout at the end of February.

Status of my payout is "Will be processed at this Saturday / Sunday".

Your experience?
Do you even try to learn how much is 10k satoshi and how much time you wasted to 'earn' it?
The basic point of reference - current standard bitcoin transaction fee is around 30k satoshi.
So 10k satoshi is ~$0.11 totally not worth even 15 minutes of your time.
438  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we see $1300 again? on: April 08, 2017, 04:27:07 PM
End of April beginning of May.
Yeah right, I also think the end of april the price of bitcoin will reach $1300, after reached I'm sure not going to drop again as before. Maybe end of may I expect the price will reach $1400. Don't sell bitcoin, better is buy more again.

Now bitcoin is $1189, its mean bitcoin is near about $1200, and if bitcoin continuously rise just like that and not go back than definitely in this month bitcoin would be reached at $1300. I wish bitcoin cross $1300 hurry up, because it is my first time when i see the bitcoin cross $1300.

Pretty sure we hit that or really close to it recently.. It's at almost $1200 right now. I see no reason why you couldn't see $1300 at the rate it's going. It all depends on what happens with this potential fork. It very well could get up over $1500 though imo. We'll just have to wait and see..
Wasn't $1300 reached briefly right before Winklevoss Coin ETF was rejected? We had total ATH at that time.
I checked the Bitfinex chart and it was exactly $1336 on March 6, 2017.

But if we want to see constant $1300 as a new floor, and a resistance level this might take some time.
439  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost Wallet Identifier on: April 07, 2017, 06:37:13 PM
As long as you have your wallet recovery mnemonic saved (20 words, IIRC, only for older version) or 12 word recovery phrase from our HD wallet (new version, HD wallet),
you will be able to get access to your wallet with no problems. All you need to do is enter it here for recovery: https://blockchain.info/wallet/forgot-password
440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Again the attack again Muslim. on: April 07, 2017, 05:43:29 PM
I did not read this news, did you already have proof that the person responsible for this sad event was a Muslim?
It's actually funny but info about ethnic background of the attacker or reason behind the attack is usually last info media share with us.
Even though it is in 99% cases the same standard motive of sharing "Islamic peace" with infidels. The culprit is still on the run.

Muslims are dangerous, even here in my country, they do not do terrorism, but they monopolize commerce and we constantly have barbaric assassinations and kidnappings
Barbaric assassinations or kidnappings are not exactly better that terrorism. It is exactly the same thing just called differently.
