421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All of us are more important to Bitcoin than Satoshi! on: March 20, 2024, 01:10:27 AM
The concept of this thread almost made me lose interest in reading it, but the truth remains the truth. Perhaps I would agree with op partially, we are very important to bitcoin and satoshi is as important as we the masses. Intact I could say we work Viz vice, which means both satoshi and we the community are equally important, non is higher than the other from my perspective. Without Satoshi there will be no bitcoin, and without the community there will be no bitcoin, they both compliment each other.

1. I don't really know but I at the same time I don't think so, perhaps it might have an effect for some little period but it will definitely not last if it eventually has an effect but I believe that lawsuits has absolutely nothing to do with bitcoin value.

2. Just as you have said, there are lot of things that we use without knowing the real identity behind the invention yet we use and also invest in it, so it's applied to bitcoin as far as bitcoin has lasted for this long I don't really care or should I say it doesn't matter to me not my investment as long as it will yield the expected profit then it's okay by me.

3. It's indefinite, as long as newbies exist there will still be people asking and searching to know who Satoshi is.
422  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What's the WAY !!!! on: March 19, 2024, 11:48:41 PM
Perhaps you're new to the forum and what you are required to do now that you're are still very new to the system is to be very observant than rush to catch up with others, for the fact that you realized this earlier is even better because if you had continue forcing yourself to make post it would have become shit posting and then the next thing would have been tag.

423  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 19, 2024, 10:19:28 PM
The truth is no matter how expensive things become today or tomorrow people will still survive, live must go on. except you are expecting people to stop living there normal life because things are get worse everyday.

For someone like me I don't enjoy complaining rather I love to work harder and go silent than make a whole lot of noice that won't change anything, I believe that is what most people have come to realize too, instead of complaining to ourselves that the price of goods and services are too expensive let's just keep calm and move on.

In my area, survive is now the major priority of every one, most people are just focused in satisfying themselves for the time being than, get themselves messed up because they want to invest and not survive. Although its and individual thing some are busy investing and  some save too but be it as it may people have to keep the ball rolling.
424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quick Curiousity!!! on: March 19, 2024, 01:35:35 PM
I like the fact that you have now come to understand that Bitcoin is not the regular shitcoins that hangs around the crypto space.

My question?
•Can a single miner with enough resources (be able to claim the block reward) compared to farm network?
Firstly, an individual miner is likely to claim a block reward if he or she has enough mining resources just as you have said.

it all depends on his mining capacity, of if one has enough mining resources (mining power) than a mining farm his is likely to claim the blocks rewards it's very simple, the high your mining capacity the high chance you stand to claim but the question is how possible it for an individual to have more mining power than a farm (cooperations) ? is very rare or almost impossible.

•What are the chances of a single miner against a farm?
The chance is very limited, like I said it's almost impossible because it's said that 2 heads are better than 1 so that means if two people are working towards a thing they are likely to more harder than an individual because combining the power of both it's higher than that of a single person. its applicable to mining, if a corporations sets up a mining farm it's almost impossible for an individual to over take them because they are two different force combined.

So the chance is very low, more like 10% chance of 100%

426  Economy / Reputation / Re: Anonymity of Bitcointalk forum members on: March 19, 2024, 11:19:29 AM
Since I registered as a member of this great forum, I discovered that almost every one in this Bitcointalk forum is Anonymous like each of our identity is hidden, age, location, country, and some other personal information.
Yes, perhaps most people like to keep there real life issues away from a public forum like this but that doesn't mean we are completely anonymous to each other.

Most time you can know someone's country, location, etc through rigorous observation and via local board visited etc but it's partially agreeable.

Does it mean that our activities here just ends within the forum and doesn't extend to real life?
Yes partially, our activities ends here but if one commits a crime he or she can be tracked, hence it is being extended to real life.

And how do we cope with performing transactions with one another even when our identities are not known and in a case of fraudulent activities, how can the culprits be held responsible or accountable?
since our IP address are been tracked, if one commits a crime, then he or she could be traced if the forum admins permits that. so one should be careful with what we do in the forum because we are not completely anonymous, it's only in our subjectivity that we feel anonymous whereas it's never so. here is a quote on the forum variations
Quote
At our sole discretion, we may voluntarily assist law enforcement worldwide. Generally we do this only when we perceive that the target user has probably committed a serious and non-victimless crime.
So it's all on the forum admin if one should be held responsible for his or her crime.
427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: March 17, 2024, 11:38:08 AM
In this contest, my major fear in this industry is loses that is because I believe I don't have enough so losing shouldn't be an option. this has made me make better decisions, since I know that Altcoins can be very profitable if gambled with. I fear such loses which have fueled my decisions on Bitcoin.

Perhaps if we direct our fear in a good way we will end up benefiting from it instead of Lossing. but one thing is certain every thing that has a good also has a bad. fear can hinder your decision making if you let it get over you, there are some steps in life that one need to take but when fear comes we tend to run behind the fear than stand against it and make decision.

whenever one feels fear it should be converted to motivation immediately, you could say to yourself, since I'm afraid I will do it regardless then you will find yourself succeeding.
428  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: March 17, 2024, 08:48:03 AM
That was the initial purpose of Bitcoin, taking power of finances from the elites to the masses, and at this point I think it might not happen because this same people are using their influence from the government perspective to hinder this purpose of Satoshi Nakamoto, by banning Bitcoin related stuffs in their countries.

One thing I know is that the rich are afraid of losing there social status and hence with all means they try to maintain that social statuses. in the ladder of social strata Bitcoin has become a backup to the upward mobility of the masses, it could lead to paradigm shift that will put everyone in equal stand but is that even possible? from a psychological view not everyone is equal so there most be a superior and inferior that will be the problem of the world.

If only the ladder of social stratification is made easy then it would be better because anyone serious can just mobilize to a new level and hence alot of people in the world would leave their current status.

I think Satoshi was philosophical in thought that lead him to creating a back up currency to push people into the world of equality with Bitcoin and it's decentralized system.
429  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Bank on: March 17, 2024, 08:34:27 AM
I have experience with digital banks I use them alot.

in my country there are alot of network issues with traditional banks, they tend to offer low customer service compared to digital banks, this digital banks response to transaction faster and easier than traditions banks, right now most people are using this digital banks often because of how fast it can deliver your transaction.

But the big truth about them is its never safe, if you lost your money, in some situations it could be gotten back through some know process but there are prone to bankruptcy. They can be scams etc but the only way to manage with them is by having only smaller amounts with them for fast transaction but when it comes huge money that needs to go for a traditional banks it more safer there.
430  Economy / Economics / Re: How to survive hyperinflation? on: March 17, 2024, 08:21:56 AM
Which ever anyone chooses to invest in is a good one but perhaps we are in BTT, what are you expecting? I would chose to invest in Bitcoin, for over years now there has been no asset that performed like Bitcoin and it's a good ground to say that Bitcoin is the best option.

Gold is good but I wouldn't buy gold for some reason because of my geographical location.

I would also go for house-hold (real estate investment) but that requires a lot of capital which means it's more of the rich only and my little more falls in between gold and Bitcoin so I prefer to go for Bitcoin.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Faketoshi saga is now coming to a close... on: March 17, 2024, 08:02:59 AM
Faketoshi, the fact that he claims to be who his not is insane! like how the heck will someone try to claim who his not. maybe he thought it would be a favour for him, now that it's proven what will be his fate?
At least the case is coming to an end, I don't know why people don't want the case of satoshi anonymity to go to rest, if they find Satoshi what will they do with him if they could.

Greed is one thing that drive Craig, and his nich to become famous wit his claims. I think he already achieved fame in most areas by now but the truth remains that his the faketoshi keeping his family and relatives in shame of faketoshi. perhaps it was fun to see him disgrace himself in court where he couldn't defend some things, like the meaning of "Unsigned". for me I would just like his name and case to go into extinction where nobody would remember his name.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Still Dead? on: March 17, 2024, 07:31:33 AM
This one of the many times I have seen this Bitcoin is dead article, once Bitcoin goes into dips it's considered dead, that hilarious. Bitcoin have been for a decade plus and yet it's not dead, is it a for just a little dips that it will be dead? Bitcoin has proven itself for over years now and there is nothing anyone can say that will pull people of of it.

This concept of bitcoin is dead was coined by some big time I
haters of Bitcoin and from this have decided not to make any profit from it trying all there best to push people out of it with there so called articles, perhaps I have trust in Bitcoin and I'm absolutely enjoy it's volatile nature, it's a unique currency.
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: March 17, 2024, 07:12:38 AM
The purpose of Bitcoin was never to over take fiat and become the only currency of a country but it's an alternative currency, it works Viz vice with a nation's fiat currency, if Bitcoin because the only currency in country I can't imagine how it will look, because there are goods of $0.1 and how would I pay for such goods and services in Bitcoin, so it's almost impossible to be the only currency of a nation right now, in this incubate generation maybe we can expect that in futuristic society.

El Salvador has a fiat currency that operates in there and Bitcoin as a legal tender over there means there are no restrictions in holding of Bitcoin of purchase, and it's based on the fact that the government too is Investing in Bitcoin to burst the economy of the country.

There is no way a decentralized government will ever exist in the world it can never be, not even the financial institutions, so perhaps Bitcoin becoming a legal tender only means that everyone has the absolute right to make any financial decisions, and that is the very best a country can do for its citizens.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a quick rich and get poorer investment. on: March 17, 2024, 06:58:49 AM
Reading from the first page to the 5th page, everyone here is absolutely correct in there contributions it shows that we all have almost the same perception about Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme and can never be, most of the people who thought it was have learnt their lessons in a very hard way, like every other good investment one shouldn't be expecting his or her returns in a very short time. most of the people who thought Bitcoin was a get rich quick scheme in recent time was a result of hearing stories of how Bitcoin have been giving of people money and have turned them millionaires over night and hence they rush to try out their lucks and it falls them.

If anyone must know every too good to be true project, or Investment always lead to scams, Bitcoin have lasted over a decade plus and yet it has been proving it's self which means fr one to achieve from something that has over 10 years experience then that person must take his or her time to learn the Bitcoin how it works to achieve from it. even in real estate investment you have to wait for years to Begin to enjoy your profit here in Bitcoin if you purchase in the dips, after like 4 years you could get a nice return that could make a whole meaning in ones life.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Day i have lost my 100 bitcoins on: March 17, 2024, 06:36:19 AM
Alot of people have lost so many Bitcoin as a result of carelessness. just because they got it from the earliest time so it was so much of a value back then that is why it was lost in the first place. I cannot blame op or any other in this kind of situation because Bitcoin was a paradigm shift and from that perspective it be valued from the beginning because it a new invention, and perhaps for OP this drive have been in the house for a long time now but as soon as he needs it, he can't find it. I usually have this kind situation at home where I will keep something and when the importance comes it won't be seen any where. its just frustrating.

Once again Op sorry for such a be loss, I wouldn't imagine being in your situation.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: March 16, 2024, 06:17:14 AM
Perhaps, I didn't find this thread early enough but I will have to contribute my perception of Bitcoin.

On a personal level, Bitcoin is a paradigm that has shifted the thoughts of people from being centralized to a decentralized system, which the government is against. perhaps because they feel unsecured that they can't accomplish their selfishness because alot of people are not longer interested to be controlled by a government that is only concerned about their own well being and not the the well being out the people.

Bitcoin was created to by Satoshi Nakamoto in order to take financial freedom from some group of elites who call themselves governments to the ordinary citizens to be financially free. Bitcoin is a currency that allows me and you to have control of our financial life and not to be controlled by centralized authorities (government).

Bitcoin is freedom...
437  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How we fit benefit from FG clampdown on Binance? on: March 16, 2024, 05:38:57 AM
Making use of this opportunity shows the real definition of entrepreneurship. they say entrepreneurs are opportunist which means they should be able to make us of every single opportunity that comes in. but here the mention P2P platforms shows that they are not opportunist in nature or perhaps they are really doings things underground without the public notice.

It would be nice if we have our own national exchange but that's only if taxes will not kill them or chase them out of business, because the FED is not really interested in making things better rather they are interested in charging people to extort money from them.

Perhaps, Patricia as a platform had many flaws, including other too but that withstanding with the level of knowledge and experience they have gathered in the platform should put them on the grand of becoming an exchange.

Fun fact; or soon our igbo billionaire brothers will get a hint of this issues and maximize the opportunity, those men can do the undo sometimes. lol
438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 16, 2024, 05:17:35 AM
The market is diving lower and the opportunity for human capital has been created. Those who were waiting for the dumping market, the dumping market is here, now you can invest from the dumping market. I increased the investment using the DCA method and waited for the dumping market to invest by buying more bitcoins, currently in the dumping market I made myself invested if the market dumped a little more I would buy bitcoins and hold it. Maybe this is the last dumping before the bull market so no one should miss this dumping market to invest.

Perhaps someone has elaborated about this but I'm not satisfied with his statements, hence I will have to buttress or initiate some points.

In as much as Bitcoin price has been fluctuating for days now and perhaps we could call it a price correction. as you said it's an opportunity to grab more stash of Bitcoin but I would consider such statement as a short sighted one or probably a short term investment, which you have to buy as a result of fomo. But if genuinely you want to keep investing in Bitcoin then the little dips we saw was a mere advantage to hold more stash of Bitcoin, it could serve as a discount to any one buying to hold.

But obviously for people who aren't interested in a short sight Investment wouldn't be bothered woth the dips or fomo to grab more stash because they have the DCA method of investment that allows them to buy Bitcoin at any give time.

Referring to those waiting for Bitcoin price to fall before they invest, are there still people like that? after all the time spent here? well if there are people waiting to purchase Bitcoin when the price falls then I think they are not in a long term investment, they are only driven by the profit Bitcoin will give them within the bull run.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you continue to trust Trust Wallet? on: March 15, 2024, 07:46:12 PM
  • Are you using TrustWallet? Will you continue to trust TrustWallet?
To be honest, I still use trust wallet but not as a permanent wallet, I only use it for some stupid Altcoins that I don't want to really hold. and for test purposes.

But I don't trust Trust wallet is a closed source wallet, which means it certainly has a back door which is only known but the owners and develop. Trust wallet is never an option for storing any of your valued crypto assets. There are some good open source wallet for storing you crypto asset.

  • Are you using other crypto wallet apps?
Yes for sure I'm using a closed source wallet, electrum is fkr my Bitcoin assets but in an air gapped device while I use Blue wallet sometimes for temporary storage, for every other altcoin I use metamask.

  • Is a hardware wallet really necessary for your crypto investment?
Hardware wallets are important but it's optional, I mean you can decide not to use it for real but if you wish then you should try Trazor.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about SOL resilience for recent market correction on: March 15, 2024, 06:35:22 PM
Perhaps it's strange to me and believe it is too to others.

I have always believe in SOL but this move is not part of my reasons before now but soon it will be, it's can be considered a new market strategy to get more investors but what I'm wondering now is how is it even possible that Bitcoin dips and an altcoin did not crash.

So I did a quick search to find out why the move on SOL but I couldn't find a cleared reason. here is the only relatively sensiable fact by coindesk.

Digital asset hedge fund QCP Capital said in a Thursday market update that SOL has benefitted from capital rotation as bitcoin's rally seemingly ran to a halt.
