421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 24, 2024, 07:27:47 PM
Splitting you investment at this point isn't what you should be really thinking, so I prefer going all in to a coin and this should be a very reputable coin like Bitcoin. or you could at least you up to 95% on Bitcoin and the rest can be used to gamble maybe you could be lucky enough to earn high.

Most importantly you should know your way in holding your coin be security conscious by using a good wallet.

Security are very vital part in cryptocurrency that shouldn't be ignored, because the moment you become careless with your seed phrase by letting it fly through the internet you might end up in regrets if you're not fast enough to move your coins to a more secure wallet address. Investment 95% in Bitcoin is a good idea since it's a reputable coin and predictions says it's gonna rise more than the previous ATH before the halving and then rise towards $150k after the halving and price correction, but you'll have to exercise patience to reap such harvest.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency. on: February 24, 2024, 07:14:03 PM
Just looking at the wave of cryptocurrency and going with the rate of adoption, where do you all see the future of cryptocurrency in the next 20years or more from now. Are transactions going to be more of in cryptocurrency than fiat in all ramifications of society as it concerns finance?

It obvious that cryptocurrency is growing day by day, and we have more person beginning to learn and adopt a coin. But I can't say for sure that crypto would be more traded than fiat currencies in the next couple of years because, most Civilization has refused to adopt crypto and 90% of the time, it's the government who has compelled its citizens to keep off crypto trade or any activity in regards to cryptocurrency. And if a citizen tries to go against the will of the government it could lead to punishments like blocking of your banking service.
423  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin price speculation (BTC/NGN) on: February 24, 2024, 06:35:16 PM

Na the joy of every Bitcoin holder to see the price as e rise like this, and we dey even dey hope to see the price to continue to rise pass like this sef. Though some predictions dey wey dey talk say e go rise pass the ATH before the halving but I nor dey too put mind for all those predictions because many of them na just meer guesses. For the passed one week the price of Bitcoin just dey waka from $50k to $52k which means e still dey on a sideways trend. Maybe after now e go enter small bullish or bearish trends, but based on history, na bullish trend naim dey happen before every halving.
424  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Newbies make una stop those off topic posts ASAP on: February 24, 2024, 05:27:48 PM
I gave you my last merits because your OP thread is also what makes us to know that we aren't here to play as this is not a medium for fun or making trashy posts.
I have seen this post more like 5 times but hasn't read whole article but when I come across bit today I just feel to read the whole writings and I get to know that what you are saying are what is making our local board divide into various parts whereby some are posting trashy posts and many are posting quality post with good contents on it.
Whit this post a newbie can know that he should improve their posting patterns from low quality to higher and higher qualities and that will make the person grow in any ranks of his/her choice.
@igebotz just did a wonderful job by creating the spam reporting thread and since then there have been a very big change in our local board,, thanks @igebotz.

Some persons dey forget say this forum no be like other regular social media platforms wey you fit talk anything wey your brain just think. We no come here to play oo, na why we must key into wattin the forum wants from us, now the new trend of shitpost wey dey reign naim be this inflation talk about Dollar gaining value over the Naira. Wattin dey bad if una just make all the comments for one thread? Some person dey act smart to create catching topic for this same matter but the body of the thread na just desame thing. I just wan remind una say, eyes dey watch una oo, after we don agree to make the board a better place una still dey go ahead to dey post rubbish, wattin pain me pass na say some full members sef still join wey dey this things and this na people wey don stay the forum pass 6 months. Truth of the matter na be say, you just dey reduce the reputation of your account.

You wey know the value of this forum, you no suppose let person advice you before you do the right thing
425  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Poverty will reduce if only people can do joint business in Nigeria. on: February 24, 2024, 04:56:46 PM
No be to just talk say make 5 person come out bring 500k take start business oo, the major question na be say na which kind of business wey 2.5 million fit start wey go ensure say dem go dey share profit on a reg. Na so you for construct the post, you for add the kind of business wey you think say fit bring out profit wey go reach the 5 persons to share. As you dey analyze make you nor forget say things don cost so that you go know the kind of business wey you go mention.  If you fit come up with good idea na that one go make your post dey informative, and you fit even get merit from there.
426  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Emergency funds is vital. on: February 24, 2024, 04:34:59 PM
For those who are new to this space emergency funds are funds set aside for the proverbial rainy day, intended to cover expected or unexpected costs that may pop up over time. Most time there's this urge for one to go all in (in investing in BTC) that is putting higher percentage of your funds or earnings in investing in order to yield good and massive profit leaving only small percentage that may not cover your expenses in a long run before  receiving in yah earnings sources again.

Op I love the way you defined the emergency fund, your definition is pure and easy to comprehend. I would also love to add that, your emergency fund should be able to cover up to 3 to 6 months of your monthly earning or expenses. Assuming you are earning $2000 a month, your complete emergency funds would be $12000. If your monthly expenses is $1200 then you have $800 for your Bitcoin investment and emergency fund, so you could decide to split it equally which would be $400 for Bitcoin investment while $400 for emergency fund. Based on the statistics, you would be able to complete your emergency fund in 30 months because 400x30= 12000 and that is 2years and 6 months. Maybe after you have successfully completed your emergency funds, you could become more aggressive in your Bitcoin accumulation by totaling your investment to be $800.
Note: emergency fund should be refilled after use so that the chain of smooth investment would keep on going without being compelled to withdraw your investment to solve further issues.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What causes altcoin season? on: February 24, 2024, 04:13:42 PM
A lot of investors are more currently interested in bitcoin and I think what trigged this was the current approval of the ETF and even the news of the halving, many are speculating high bitcoin prices this year, as we know it the average investor is mostly moved by hype.

Many others are funding new project get they would invest in, I'm not really expecting much from the altcoin market myself, but I'm expecting the leading altcoin to follow suite any time soon, it's still bitcoins time.

it will definitely follow Bitcoin. Currently Bitcoin is growing very well. Ethereum has also started to follow Bitcoin. but I think it will require stabilizing the market first. we have to be patient to see a stronger pump. if a pump occurs then Altcoins will also follow Bitcoin's growth. it won't be difficult for the leading Altcoin in the market. it's only a matter of time before we see that season. keep patient.

Ethereum has always been following Bitcoin even before the ETF approval, so it's not like it just started. That is one amongst other reasons why I prefer Bitcoin over altcoins, because most of these altcoins follow after Bitcoin trend. Indeed the news of ETF approval and the Bitcoin halving convinced many investors to buy more at the dip. And currently the price from the ETF approval has increased, those who got into the market then would probably be smiling by now, but those who missed out can still buy now because there is still hope of increase before the halving and after the halving, after which the price correction must have taken place.
428  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The government can't fight the present situation alone on: February 24, 2024, 09:52:05 AM
I know the angle you are coming from because I thought the same too. Op was supposed to give solutions to how we citizens of Naija are to help our government get us out of this hardship we are all experiencing in Naija.
From my view, I think OP wants our local farmers to help our country by reducing the price of the farm products they produce in our country. The ideal will be difficult to achieve because our farmers are spending so much money on labor, and when they harvest their farm products, they still pay a lot of money for transportation because of the high cost of fuel to get their farm products to the final consumers. By doing all these things, the only way for them to make a good profit in their farming business is to sell their farm products at a high cost.

So you don see am say we no go fit even blame the farmers Dem wey increase the price of their product abi? Including those persons wey dey sell, if them no increase the price of wattin Dem dey sell Dem no go fit meet up for the trade business again. And if the government come say Dem wan regulate the price of things for the market, den that na wickedness because dem never do their own part as the government and Dem wan come put their blame of failure for marketers head. If the government bring down the price of fuel by bringing back the fuel subsidy then many things price go come down, even if say the dollar to naira rate still dey stand.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where did u put your Money ? on: February 24, 2024, 09:26:47 AM

I believe your target price is too high, Op. If you bought it for $0.00001 and its price pumped to $0.01, that's almost a 99,900 percent increase (correct me if I'm wrong). It seems like this target is becoming unrealistic. However, we know that in crypto, this isn't impossible, especially with meme coins, but for me, your target is indeed high. Additionally, it will also be difficult for us to find coins with the potential to pump to such high levels because there are so many altcoins emerging, and we know that only a few of them will succeed.

This is the more reason why we shouldn't be greedy in taking profit, especially if it's an altcoin. Altcoin can be very volatile therefore we can't accurately predict the price movement. Besides most altcoins are short term trades, so you'll have you eyes fixed at the market more often. And the calculation you made is a x1000 and not 99,900 percent increase, though the x1000 increase is possible as we have seen lots of altcoins who started small but they made it.
430  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Afta excitement, reality go set in on: February 23, 2024, 01:57:46 PM
E don tey wey I be wan make dis post but activities nor gree me. Too much distractions and all dat to make ends meet and put food on the table. Una know how e dey be na. E nor easy for dis Tinucracy. If we wey dey here and dey wan campaign or d orda still dey feel d impact of inflation for Naija, make we just imagine wetin those outsider wey nor get any job or wey dey civil service dey feel? E don red, honestly.

Well, too much talk nor dey for evening market according to owa forefathers. Make I go straight to the matta wey carry me come here. I just wan encourage us to make judicious use of dis opportunity and capitalize on dis bull run to generate betta cash for owaselves wey go see us through the rainy days wey be bear season for dis industry wey we dey so. 2026–2027 supposed be anoda bloody period again for dis industry if we follow historical data.

BTC don cut chain, come cross road dey do waka for $50k since two days now. Excitement don dey begin fly up, noise don dey happen. But make we remember sey na only people wey get coin suppose follow dey celebrate oh. You wey nor get Bitcoin or solid altcoins you dey waste your excitement and celebration.

Most analysts dem talk sey once Bitcoin cross $51k and stabilize above am, bull run don start be dat. But for someone like me, na last quarters of 2023 bull run start for my eyes. See, dis same Bitcoin wey dey $50k now go still cross $120k as e dey be. With wetin I dey see and hear e be like e go even hit above $150k for dis season. E don almost dey wan return to its current ATH before halving sef. Dat wan mean sey more space dey for spike upward be dat.

Make una set something aside to buy and hodl. Nothing is too small. Nor talk sey you nor dey betta campaign na im make you nor go fit do am. Nor give dat excuse. Endure now to reap dis bull run. I nor know who I dey talk to but I sabi sey e get wan or two people wey dis post go dey useful for.

God bless all owa hustles... One luv!

Baba you don talk my mind, and you spoke according to your rank. The quality of wisdom wey commot for you mouth show say you na real boss, baba I hail 🫡. Person wey no accumulate Bitcoin for emself naim do himself oo, we don dey advise people tire make them hold, even if na just small Bitcoin wey you fit buy, you and person no dey do competition so make you dey hold the small wey you fit hold in happiness.

With the wey Bitcoin dey waka e dey obvious say e go beat the ATH but that prediction wey people dey give say, Bitcoin go reach$150k I no go fit tell anybody that kind thing, even if na prediction, or over hype. The only price prediction wey I dey expect say fit happen naim be $80k though the hype of some crypto analyst say this bull run go bloody but make I just keep for hope for there so that if e reach there, I go happy or if e pass I go still benefit the more. But when I dey tell person wey never know about Bitcoin, I just dey tell Dem say this halving go bullish well well.
431  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The government can't fight the present situation alone on: February 23, 2024, 01:42:40 PM
As I see the topic, I think say na something else naim I wan read not knowing say, this na just the same with other post about government and inflation. After I read everything I no even see good points about how we fit take join hand fight with this inflation, but rather you just scratch the surface come leave am like that. you of all person supposed know say this kind of idea na to write am as Comment instead of creating a new topic. Abeg make una try clean the board small from inflation talk, or just make one post standby to dey discuss about the inflation instead of the one wey everybody dey create em own topic to discuss one idea. E no good😔
432  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Solar systems will be the way out on: February 23, 2024, 01:26:07 PM
With the current spike in the price of petroleum products, omor na solar be the only rescue team right now oo, even the convention of PMS engine to hybrid engine sef don dey fade because of the high cost of cooking gas. And one thing wey I notice na be say, even the price of solar equipment sef don dey cost so e better to buy now than to wait, because when once people don start to enter the market seriously, everything about solar go cost pass like this. And as the world dey turn fully digitalized, we need electric power 24/7 to power our appliances wey we go take dey follow up.
433  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcointalk accounts available on: February 23, 2024, 09:04:51 AM
Buying of account on this forum is not prohibited:

Buying Bitcointalk account is not prohibited in the forum, but it is not advisable to buy account.
What is the essence of buying account whereas you can get one by yourself and rank up to any rank of your choice if you are patient.

Most accounts that are being sold are not too good; they are mostly build with airdropped merits while some of them are tagged accounts which has committed one or two offense in the forum.

Newbies please take note of all these; so one should deceive you to buy an account in this form regardless of the account rank.

Literally yes, but let's have a simple reasoning. If we're to buy a forum account and start making post with that account, if a DT member notices the  change in post pattern, they will definitely call for the public and state that the account has been compromised either by hack or stolen, and from there, the account would receive negative tags and asked to prove identity, if you're unable to prove identity as the previous user that might lead to ban. Not every rule is clearly written, there are unwritten rules that still stands and are executed.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: February 23, 2024, 08:01:01 AM
There are thousands of altcoins in crypto market and each of coin has investors! Cause people have different choice from one to another.  People even invest in shitcoin to get rich quickly. So what are the names of your most 5 invested altcoins that you are holding or would like to invest soon?? Those are my choice
1. ETH
2. BNB
3. Arbitrum
4. Cake
5. ApeCoin

Aside the first two listed coin which seems to have gained some reputation the rest are not even in first 10 coin with highest market cap. It's only coins that investors believe in that they'll buy for holding, therefore the other coins are not even trusted like the way the op sounds. However you could edit the  op and add the first 5 listed coins with the highest market cap and volume of trade. One thing about altcoin is that most times they change the position of having the highest market cap so time by time the trusted coin position changes.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone have my wallet phrase on: February 23, 2024, 07:49:56 AM
What worse case scenario given then fact I have only 14$ on this wallet and of course not intend to deposit anymore funds to that wallet

Op it's better you just forget about that wallet and creat a new one, because anything that will cause you to mistakenly make deposit into that wallet it would be a case of charity. so just dump the wallet after all, you don't have much asset there so you could even decide to use a new brand of wallet for proper security. And I also advise that when you get your new wallet, do well to secure your seed phrase well. I can't imagine that someone guessed your seed phrase and got it right, but I believe it was due to your misplacement of your seed phrase that lead to some one having access to it. So you could buy a water proof and fire proof safe to luck your seed phrase do that you'll be the only to know the passkey to the safe.
436  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcointalk accounts available on: February 22, 2024, 06:20:19 AM
Op buying and selling of accounts in this forum  is prohibited and you should know better that if caught, the account you spent money in buying would be ban or tagged. So I recommend you luck this thread.

From the look of things, it is obvious this account has been tagged for running ponzi and you have 2 negative trust meaning, you are not worthy for any kind of business transaction. So I strictly advise that no one should fall for this scam. I think giving this account a ban completely would help prevent any further scams from you.

GUYS THIS IS A SCAM
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into? on: February 22, 2024, 06:11:36 AM
While this should be at the top of the list when it comes to selecting the right coin in which to invest, the truth is that many investors could care less about this as long as a coin gives them profits.

So if they lose money with one of their investments, they think of that coin as a bad one, even if the project was solid and they were at fault for losing that money, while if they earned a lot of money out of a scam coin, they will still think of it as a good coin.

I believe most of the time, investing in a short term project is one of the major causes of Lossing funds in crypto investment. Though short term project gives lots of profit within a short range but if we calculate the amount of profit we have accumulated in a reputable long term project, you'll see that the long term project are even better and have less risk than short term project. For a newbie who don't know too much about crypto, he could easily buy a long term project while developing his knowledge and crypto skills.
438  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Forex Crisis: FG plans to clampdown on Binance, and other crypto exchanges on: February 22, 2024, 02:31:42 AM
Actually wattin dey pain me pass na be say, our government dey pretend like say dem no know the real cause of our currency devalue. Dem just dey waka here and there dey make wrong decisions thinking say dem dey try help matters, unknown to Dem say dem just dey waist time while the currency dey lost value more and more. Now na wattin concern naira value and binance? Before you go know, you go hear say dem don kukuma ban crypto for the country.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: February 22, 2024, 02:15:29 AM
Kids learn too fast, especially by imitation. They like to practice what they see be it good or bad, so gambling in front of a kid is dangerous, if the child decides to search for gambling online site and plays it at his own secret time, he might end up becoming addicted before the parents could even notice. Besides, now adays one can be a gambling and people around him would not even notice due to how classified he wants it to be.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: February 21, 2024, 07:53:02 PM
obviously we should need to be careful during gambling and should take this thing as entertaining and never set gambling as main source of income. Otherwise when anyone keep losing in gambling, he'll start gambling more to recovery and that time losing possibility will increase cause mind won't work perfectly that time and so people took wrong decision while roll over or bet. Even thus such thing could makes people addicted in Gambling which will be difficult to cure soon. gamblers should have a specific strategy as op said and should stop when they are losing too much continuesly, cause need to have some discipline which should be followed for self welfare

Playing under pressure to recover from loss is a bad idea and should be stopped. When once a gambler puts his emotions in front of his knowledge, things go wrong because you will eventually make the wrong decision. gamble is not a game were you relief your self from stress or clear your mind. The best time to gamble is when you are feeling ok and a bit of excitement, then you can catch the fun in gambling.  There is a saying that, we shouldn't make drastic decisions when we are angry because it could end up affecting our life. Gambling when going through a psychological trauma is dangerous to our financial health.
