421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 21, 2024, 07:58:04 PM
You're actually making sense here cause if I can gamble for fun why not watch the game and forget about gambling, I enjoy watching the game like most people will say and still want to bet for some reason like fun. Not everyone really want the money but if any day turns to be their lucky day they're in for it, let's be realistic only wealthy men will have this mindset of fun and sometimes people who don't pay much attend like for weeks they've not even visited the casino shop, people like this can easily say gambling is fun but you should observe the people saying they gamble for the money, it's either the money is needed urgently to settle something or they don't have a job. Like one of my testimony as a student when I started gambling, I needed this money to buy textbooks, handouts and I decide to stake a bet and hopefully I had much profit, so in times like this one can say I play gamble for the money.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 21, 2024, 07:10:35 PM
I'm surprised, from building a home and buying a car like living as couples just changed within few seconds because of money, there's nothing much to debate here cause it seems like the Charlotte lacks understanding and Mike at the other hand will do all means to take his share. The money should be shared 50/50, she never wanted to spend her money buying scratchcards but he forced her to do so, on a normal day if mike never followed her she would not even think about buying a scratchcard, secondly sharing the money 50/50 sounds peaceful and fair even if this desicion will hurt her that's what she signed for and with this attitude she just needed the money not the relationship.
423  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: COULD THIS BE CALLED ADAPTATION? on: February 21, 2024, 06:17:45 PM
Can war really help as most people think or I'm the only one opposing the idea of war, what war are we talking about and if this war wants to come now you'll definitely not have peace. I believe you've seen countries fighting and engaging in what we call war and sometimes the economy gets to worsen the more due to the fighting. Abeg let's not pray for war to happen in Nigeria, the economy problem can be solved but the government don't want to take an active action to put an end to all this rather we keep seeing statistics of popular, market price etc everyday. This is not even funny again as most people think rather people are dying in silent, you just have to do your job if you want the money and move on but I strongly believe this situation will not last for long.

Yes of a truth question may prompts, will suffering and hardship end? My answer is no but there should be a certain level of consideration in terms of the causes. Do you think that there can be a mutually agreeable solutions to this? War can be right in achieving a just cause such as liberation, sometime war may be the only way to achieving this liberation, yes it can be destructive, widespread death and displacement but there can also be a better opportunities afterwards.
Okay let's assume war can solve this, who should we fight? The government??, just imagine the masses fighting against the government in a country where there's no unity and we now see such like tribalism as a common behavior. Mehnn war can't really help now with what I'm seeing except we just want innocent souls to die like the common protest conducted 2020, no one expected such from the government but still it's what it's.
How can war guarantee a strong economy in Nigeria? Or after the war we still experience zero change. I'm still insisting we should not pray for war in Nigeria just because we  want a strong economy we're not sure of, the government can really handle this situation not with war.

This thing you poured out now dey really happen and if anyone will say she's running from the economy situation the person might be right but I don't think so, things like this dey happen even with or without the economy situation.
To tell person this kind word sounds disrespectful or some how, even if person tell you this word using the most polite manner, you no go too vex for the person front but you'll definitely feel rejected. I no go advice you to tell her anything concerning her leaving but in my opinion give her an amount of money that will serve as her transport and e get the way you go put the word like say you dey give her money to keep for tp. I don't even know if this is necessary but you should just let go.

Don't expect holding without challenges

https://twitter.com/rovercrc/status/1759255957006139651?t=0NPU8k18o81QEJ1MCkWLLQ&s=19

Maybe many will have to understand this that when we are talking about holding, it's not just what you can get into and invest to hold, you have the task ahead to do, starting from the way you will conduct your own research, understand the reason why you should hold, the duration for your holding and how you could make the best of interest while still holding before a particular period of time, from my previous post, I made mention of not afford investing on other assets first before Bitcoin, which means, if you're a potential investors and is having a lot of considerations for an investment, Bitcoin is the best and 3asy way to start up with.

This illustration is understandable and looking at the illustration it shows holding is not as easy as most people think, I came across a comment in bitcoin discussion and a higher rank member stated during his early stage he sold his bitcoin due to fear and others factors, fear of missing out can also ruin an investor journey or excitement to sell sometimes can also lead to bad investment journey.
If an individual is ready to invest he/she must first understand how this investment works, for example bitcoin investment has basic strategy and step to follow when investing and the common one is called the DCA strategy, a lot of people prefer using this method rather than buying in bulk at ones and it's mostly advisable for newbies who are new to the investment. Secondly having a target for long term holding is another important move, like set yourself ready to hold for long regardless the price, after this step you can look forward to learning about bitcoin and increasing the amount  graudually to build your investment. Lastly always secure your investment, I think this has to be the basic problem people face with holding bitcoin with lack of security.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: February 21, 2024, 11:24:53 AM
All what you just mentioned depends on your thought towards bitcoin investment first cause if you start your investment with this mindset then you might sell so quick due to the fear and also the strategy you intend to use, bitcoin knowledge is broad and you can't learn about bitcoin in just one day. If you're the type that always sells quick and you never intend to buy and hold for long term regardless the price then you're causing more harm to your investment, I think this is the part when people say you lose to win in bitcoin investment. Don't get this statement wrong but it can easily affect any investor that fails to understand about bitcoin. Selling so quick is another factor that can affect investment plan but using the DCA strategy can help in terms of  buying with little amount gradually.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waiting patiently for the next bull run... on: February 20, 2024, 09:09:53 PM
Snip
Do not rely only on meme coins because they don't have a concrete assurance of surviving all the market conditions. Top coins will still be the best options where you can generate even a better profit when the bull season comes.
Memecoin mainly runs by hype and hype has limitation. Hype will be end after a specific time and then memecoin will downfall from current price. So this kind of coins aren't investment for long run. Rather than full of doubt if a memecoin will survive till the next day or scam! So it won't be a good sign of a successful investor to invest in memecoin and wait dor a pump! Rather better to buy good coins no matter how little the profit will be during market pump
This is  accurate, although newly investors don't even know about the hype and they get fooled by an influencer unknowingly to them such is risky and they only render benefit to those in charge with the project and leaving nothing for investors. This process is actually the loss we are talking about and memecoin move with such pump and dump strategy, investing in memecion is risky and sometimes you might not get anything out from your investment as most investors suffer due to hype.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin and Ethereum on: February 20, 2024, 08:39:25 PM
I have seen several opinions similar to this, I never expected much cause bitcoin has been leading the crypto market and bitcoin is known as the king of cryptocurrency.
I never had time to ask this same question cause I have been observing this with the increase price of bitcoin and the reactions with other altcoins mostly ethereum as you mentioned. The price of bitcoin is currently $51k now and we've not seen an increase yet, even if we're sure the price will pass this amount let's still say $51k.
Now what I'm trying to understand here is will other altcoins still increase even with the current price of bitcoin now, like what most people are saying and getting excited with the current increase price of ethereum.
430  Economy / Economics / Re: Is increase in minimum wage a good method to fight inflation? on: February 20, 2024, 02:49:40 PM
Increase in minimum wage can help in some certain extend but can't fight against inflation fully, when the price of goods keeps increasing weekly due to poor economy structure workers still can't cope even with an increase in wages. The best here is to tackle the problem and find a way to handle such problem cause if price of goods keeps increasing it will definitely affect everyone and it takes time for the price to fall back rather the price keeps increasing and not just workers but traders will face same challenges.
431  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If there was no government to govern us (humans) on: February 20, 2024, 02:32:35 PM
Let's imagine a society without government rule and laws, everyone will be so free to some extend. Sometimes we humans use our freedom carelessly without thinking twice and it can hurt other feelings or rather it can lead to fighting or conflicts, every rule has a purpose and every leader today is set to guide the standard of the society so any society lacking a good government will face crisis and without a government the society cannot move forward.
432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 20, 2024, 02:03:45 PM
Like what other investments? what investment is better than bitcoin?

No, not better, just safer. I think I need a safer investment as a backup for emergencies, like gold. I need to have land assets to survive (make a house, grow crops). If investing in stocks or real estate, of course it is no better than bitcoin

Having other assets is also a preventative step so that we don't rush to sell our bitcoins when there is an urgent need

You seem to be talking about down the road in your investment journey rather than any kind of investment prerequisite before getting started in terms of investing into bitcoin.

Yes, I just think that I can't invest 100% in bitcoin. Maybe I want to have an investment portfolio like 10% cash, 10% gold, 30% land, and 50% bitcoin. At least this is a percentage and risk that I think is quite safe
Now I think I'm getting your point with the last paragraph. If you choose to diversify your asset like spreading your investment, that's your choice and I believe you have plans holding every bit of the assets.
Here is a quick one, getting involved in real estate, gold, bitcoin, land stock is not an easy one like you mentioned cash, bitcoin, gold and land. You definitely need a huge amount to balance your investment.
What I learnt here is never get too  jampack with your investment firstly, even when dealing with crypto for example if holding bitcoin then you should maintain holding bitcoin only. Bitcoin, gold, cash and land stock are just too much for you to keep with, even if diversification of assets is advisable not with so many assets like this, you should at least go for few assets to keep up with.
Secondly if diversify assets is your choice then you don't want to get hookup with any kind of distraction or mistake so you need to have something doing like a multi job to keep up with like business etc. They're alot of business to keep up with when investing cause you will not only invest but you also have needs to settle and it doesn't make sense when you keep withdrawing profit from your little investment to settle needs or to meet up with other investments. I don't expect an investor to act like this with an early investment cause it will only ruined the growth of the investment but as time goes on you start understanding the statics and reaching the target is the best.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad idea saving every penny on crypto stable coins on: February 20, 2024, 04:58:43 AM
Nice contributions. I think I've learnt Alot here.

I think making stable coins my savings wallet would just add up to my stress but rather I'll choose to invest percentage of my long term savings on Bitcoin.
I actually thought you've forgotten about bitcoin, no one is discouraging you to save or not but if you want this savings or rather investment in long term, bitcoin investment should be recommended and it also serve as a store of wealth so you're not just saving your money but at the same time you're accumulating wealth.
Hope you understand the basic terms of investing and you should read more often on investment threads to help guide with your investment journey, my advice here is buy and hold with the money set aside for savings not for personal needs, don't extend your limit as an investor.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it letting the bank know that you are a BTC Investor? on: February 20, 2024, 04:40:05 AM
If I'm not mistaking, she asked what's your occupation and the job you engage daily that brings income. Investing can't pay you so quick as a job or earning means and there's a difference between occupation and investment, everyone investing in bitcoin today has something different doing like a teacher, staff etc. I believe the bank worker asked such question cause she wanted to know and not just your personal investment life but you just decided to inform her about your investment, if you mentioned real estate it will be different from bitcoin investment cause people who are into real estate get back their money yearly or monthly due to the agreement.
You can always refill such inform back, whenever you're free you should change the information. Talking about your safety now you've disclose such inform, you should be worried cause even with mere money, customers are still not safe except the Lady is not a bad staff cause bank staffs get involved with dirty acts to lure customers.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 19, 2024, 10:31:25 PM
- snip

Manchester City lost the advantage they had and even winning tomorrow's match against Brentford will make them the second in the league with 1 point difference from Liverpool.
Manchester City attack a lot but can't find the proper way to finish or they miss obvious opportunities sometimes..

I am of course a proponent of winning every point possible and of they lost some of the possible advantage they had, but at this stage I find it impossible to predict who becomes the Premier League champion. It's Liverpool, Arsenal or Manchester City and they have all these games between them very soon. This means nothing but the best team will win. If Manchester City wins all these important games, I doubt that a draw here and there will leave them without the title at the end of the season. To me they are still the favorite.
Being the favorite still comes with a lot and I never believe Manchester city will draw against Chelsea but still Manchester city had higher chance of scoring due to a perfect attack and the readiness to dominate, the surprising part here is city boys scored just one goal making the  match looked tough during the last minutes. I believe city boys felt too relaxed when playing against Chelsea and that's very wrong. Chelsea can be dominating when their opponent is weak and within some minutes they can take advantage of the weakness quickly. I still can't predict for now because this competition is tough and with my view I'm expecting Liverpool or Arsenal for the title, with what Manchester city played I'm not sure they're fully ready for the competition.
436  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: How to survive this hard time for Naija on: February 19, 2024, 10:06:52 PM
My only problem in this country is if our vote dey really count?. It is not good for us to think say our vote no dey count because e go make people not to come out to vote for the right candidate. Let people stop collecting money to vote, If people can stop this act, then we are half way to solving our problem.
Lol, we should stop thinking when the actual act is still going on and there's nothing the masses can do to stop this act called rigging, I actually love the America system of election and the last election conducted I followed up and when I watched everything, the part that surprised me is the Americans used days to count the votes, I never had the chance to go through some reasons why they'll take days to count the votes but comparing this system with the Nigeria voting system is amazing. Nigerians will take 2 days to count votes and manipulate everything just in the name of money.
If our vote dey really count the person wey dey now for no smell that position, the last election conducted Nigerians came out to vote for their choice and I believed everyone felt the impact even with money or without the money so I no dey really shout about voting wisely again and people who have refused to get involve in voting still made their decision regardless.
437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are most scammers from Nigeria? on: February 19, 2024, 09:34:16 PM
Fair enough you're partially accurate but with a wrong mindset, you made a mistake with your topic firstly "are most scammers from Nigeria" how sure are you with this statement or you just decide to speak, what do you mean by scammers and the last time I checked about countries with the highest rate of scammers I didn't only see Nigeria listed but other countries were listed too so if talking about scammers Nigeria should  not be the only country listed. I wished you listed some steps to follow with the current economy situation, I'm not against your post but things like this should be done with caution and if possible enlighten the public with your points.
438  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The increase of altcoins on: February 19, 2024, 09:13:10 PM
Altcoins can be a little bit misleading especially for investors who are new to the game and it's always advisable newly investors should focus on bitcoin first. As a new investor there's no point bothering yourself with newly tokens you barely know about. In terms of choosing an altcoin that has potential is also a difficult one and it's either you go for bitcoin, ethereum or other trusted coins, we also have newly altcoins pumping in the market and some might serve as a ponzi scheme while some are genuine newly projects so when going for altcoins your choice determines if you will make profit or not.
439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 19, 2024, 04:26:27 PM
Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading?
If this is actually possible then everyone would have gotten more profit when trading, people seek advice and pay for tutorials but still it doesn't guarantee a win, even experts still experience loss or it's because you're not informed.
Learning has different process and with the right mindset I believe you'll definitely succeed. The winning you mentioned doesn't come so easy neither do people win always like consistent , no one can actually create a winning chance for you when trading, when talking about  winning chance I'm referring to a guide that will lead you when trading and with the guide you'll win, even with this guide if you fail to understand the necessary step you can still fail that's why before trading you must work on yourself first cause you're the one trading so even with the loss you dare not blame any tutor. As a beginner  try to improve in aspect of learning.
440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: February 19, 2024, 03:54:24 PM
the number of people who fail in trading is the pattern of the person's way of thinking, thinking that by trading they can easily get money when they suffer they no longer want to trade, this impatience makes them fail, in trading requires patience if you can't do it, it's best not to do it.
in trading you will also suffer losses, let's just say that the payment for learning is much more reassuring
So true. It all depends on your mindset. Failure in trading is a matter of mindset and knowledge, a trader must feel complicated in trading even though he has been trading for years but still has to continue learning because learning is the basis of trading. because trading requires experience and strong psychology.

Trading requires technical analysis. Many traders fail, especially beginners, just following recommendations without knowing the reasons. So that they can become traders who are consistent in making profits, analysis is needed before buying crypto. Yes that's right. In the world of traders, no one is successful instantly, everyone needs a process, patience and continuous learning.
In general, they underestimate trading and feel like just knowing the basics is enough which the truth is that it is not. These traders are not totally ready for this and once face the market crisis, they change their mindset and quit. It often happens to first-timers and less experienced traders, their weak hands and emotional control trigger and decide to stop. But this is not new in trading and we already know that not all are able to understand the situation especially when we've been influenced by these social media influencers. It all turns bad and difficult if we continue with a lack of preparation.
In aspect of quitting it's best to quit than experiencing great loss cause anyone who is not willing to learn during the early stage will not develop any interest to learn as time goes on.
What's the point skipping the learning process and having the mindset of earning profit, very funny and it doesn't work that way neither should any newbie think of such, even with the learning process earning takes time that's why it's advisable every trader must control their emotions in all aspect including loss due to the price. If newbies have this mindset of trade and getting rich quick it'll be dramatic and they might end up quitting so quick.
