What is the info on these homebrew ASIC's they cost millions to develop did Pyramining really have the resources to go alone on that?

Have you a link to a post or article related to this?
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Idea: NeuroCoin on: May 16, 2013, 07:18:42 PM
The NeuroCoin idea is this: we would harness the neuronal structure of the brain for hashing power. Basically, a person would have a surgical procedure so that he could connect to a software miner; the miner would send problems to the brain to solve while at the same time projecting a virtual reality directly into their consciousness. The brain is the most advanced supercomputer in the Universe. People would got o massive NRC farms and connect themselves for X time, or stay connected forever and enjoy their parallel realities.

Not a good idea, this is what happened in the matrix. Smiley

But seriously the way these cryptocurrencies work has a few similarities to the way the brain works, just not as dodgy. I don't think having money on the brain the whole time is the best of ideas though.
424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much money can I make per day or in one week with the following hardware? on: May 16, 2013, 07:15:36 PM
I believe you maybe be better of investing in a mining company. There is already companies with asics selling their shares with great dividend returns. It saves a lot of hassle as well.

Complete reward:   ~ 87 months   Cry

Exactly.

But with asics and referrals this will reduce.
426  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Online wallet, or computer wallet? on: May 16, 2013, 07:12:45 PM
I'm a newbie obviously but my rationale was: A PC can suffer from being stolen, fire damage, hdd crash, water damage etc and unless you've backed it up on paper or elsewhere surely you've had it? That's why I'm not keen on the Android-only wallets, what if the phone gets stolen? But I must be missing something or no one would use them.

So I use a web wallet plus paper. Blockchain have backups, cloud-based etc, so it's unlikely to suffer those issues above. But use a different username to here otherwise you could get hacked into, even with two-factor authentication.

Good choice. "Don't put all your eggs in the one basket. Put cloned eggs in multiple baskets."
427  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin Poll on: May 16, 2013, 07:10:05 PM
When do yous believe bitcoin will become a mainstream currency accepted for over 70% of services and goods in any country worldwide?

As time goes by this is becoming more possible and if it going to happen it will more than likely be the next five years. Your vote and comments are welcomed.

429  Economy / Economics / Re: where is the BTC. on: May 16, 2013, 06:59:25 PM
I think group investments is going to be the way to go for the majority if they want to make more bitcoin with their current bitcoin especially if your not one of the early adopters or have the money now to invest in a preordered 50gh/s miners.
430  Economy / Services / Re: [EHR:332.5Gh/s] Hashrack.com|Hashpacks the easy way to mine bitcoins 0.5Gh-50Gh on: May 16, 2013, 06:45:46 PM
So how long will the wait for BFL be with all the per-orders stacking up for hashpacks, don't you have any other means of mining hardware to at least start delivering on the per-orders made already.

We are contacting others manufacturers (Block Erupter), as some sugest, as another "type" of hashpacks, obviously the price and the hashrate will not be the same as well as the delivery dates.

Will this not effect the price of the hashpacks?
431  Other / Off-topic / Re: I can't stop gambling what do I do on: May 16, 2013, 06:43:24 PM
Oui,  I have a solution for you. Pick someone who you really trust not to indulge you. Then create a two signature address so each of you get a private key. And keep your funds there.

Where can you do this. Brillian Idea.
432  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Pune going to become first ASIC powered city in India on: May 16, 2013, 06:42:26 PM

433  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Pune going to become first ASIC powered city in India on: May 16, 2013, 06:41:26 PM
You paid in BTC, 75 BTC.
If taking btc price as 150 USD, then it comes 11250 USD, which is 609187.50 INR.
Is that correct?

you paid premium & you got premium.
Eager to see it hashing at 25+ gh/s

I paid 150 btc for two blades. I purchsed these btc on rate 5.6 one year ago, so it cost me  840 usd. Sort of reinvestment of profit 150btc on 150 is usd 22500 now.

I got it running by now, with power supplies from CCTV cameras. I'm getting 9.5 ghc on old server btcguild. I will install stratum proxy later on old nettop with Atom, so things will get better.

I regret I did not bid for more blades Sad

I think you'll live. I was talked out of investing e5000 before christmas even though I got a job specifically for investing in bitcoins and then they skyrocketed in february. I regret not following my own belief in bitcoin.
434  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FREE BITCOIN Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto on: May 16, 2013, 06:38:23 PM
Its easy enough to find these sites but they don't really pay great. But if times are rough it is helpful.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE 2ND GIVEAWAY has STARTED !!! on: May 16, 2013, 06:36:44 PM

436  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avalon Asic #2 ? on: May 16, 2013, 06:35:29 PM
The seller has 3000+ feedback on e-bay so seems okay ; but mostly low value items.

I am talking to John K about his escrow service ; I imagine that would be the only real way to ensure it is legitimate.

With 3000+ feedback, I'd say you would be safe enough but escrow cant hurt.
437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long until I can post outside the newbie area? on: May 16, 2013, 06:33:00 PM
I have no clue why I have to post just to have access to PMs...

Because then anybody could just spam active users with scams and virii.  Also, we'd like to see you contribute somehow before we let you out into kindergarten pit that is bitcointalk.org

It gives an oppurtunity to get to know the site too before posting. You could end up finding a few gold nuggets of information
438  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Google Wallet Kill Paypal? on: May 16, 2013, 06:30:16 PM
On a related note, does anybody know of API to interface with Google Payments?
Would rather use that instead of Paypal.
Would rather use anything instead of Paypal.

You maybe in luck - https://developers.google.com/commerce/
439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Google Wallet Kill Paypal? on: May 16, 2013, 06:29:06 PM
If ebay begins accepting google wallet, it will definitely be a downward struggle but in saying that a lot of other websites use paypal still so there is still hope.
