421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 Nano Modded Rom on: April 30, 2016, 05:32:11 PM
Is there any progress with your 390 mod? What is the power consumption after the memory voltage mod?

Still working on that, well, it's ready, but seemed to be having some issues after a while. System froze after 14hrs.

Doing a retest as we speak.

Is that because the memory voltage is too low or the timing is too tight? How low is the voltage you set?
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: April 16, 2016, 07:18:23 PM
Guys just want to ask if mining ethereum is still profitable.. because i am planning to upgrade my CPu with high amd Grapics card..
And i will start mining.. but before i can start i just want to know if ether still profitable as of now?

There are many people building rigs for mining Ethereum, so the difficulty will be higher. It will be less profitable.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: April 04, 2016, 04:00:25 PM
Is there a plan for Expanse to go PoS? When will that happen? I hope the PoW phase can be 3- 5 years.

That is one of the main possibilities. If we were to just go POS only like Ethereum down the road, then it would happen around the same time as it happens for Ethereum. If we were to go hybrid and so on, also that is something that would happen around the time Ethereum changes. So it would be several months away at least and options are still being discussed. I believe POS only is looking like the best option, but a hybrid POS/POW with very low inflation is also interesting, and there are a few other possibilities as well.

It would be good for the PoW to last several years. Then it becomes hybrid so that network is more secure.

what is the fastest ethminer so far ? I am confused with it. I think I will make a blog or forum thread and will accumulate best miner to help others too. Sometimes bct is very hard for newbies

There is no difference in terms of performance for all the miners, as they share the same mining core.
425  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Spend $2k on mining rig or bitcoins? Still worth getting 2x antminer S7's? on: February 27, 2016, 08:55:46 PM
Hi ssnova,

just buy the bitcoin.
I used to mine and miss it but haven't seen anything worth mining with for awhile.
Many of the current miners draw bigtime power, enough so that depending on the condition of the wiring
in the property: it could potentially pose a fire hazard.
A property that offers free electricity may include clauses in the lease regarding high usage.

The last miners running in my house were S3's...loud, warm and power hungry ;-)
The S7's may require a special outlets ect.

I think it is better to just buy the bitcoin. The difficulty rises too fast. If you do not have free electricity, do not mine.
426  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaigns for newbies. on: February 17, 2016, 11:45:04 AM
For newbie member is very hard to make bitcoin with signature campaigns.
You need to become fullmember or high for some earnings.

yeah the reward is very cheap. maybe prefer earn from faucet lol.
or you can buy account first in auction or goods mate

There are account sales around. If you can buy one, you can have ROI quite fast. Usually within a month. But do not spam.
427  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaigns for newbies. on: February 13, 2016, 01:09:08 PM
Hello. I am newbie here. I want to earn through signature..
Will you please tell me which campaign accept newbies?

I have applied for 777coins. But they didn't response
There is already a better campaign and it's called Zebpay https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1359605.0 which pays 0.00005 per post.

That is only for posting in India boards. If you are an Indian, then it could be a good choice to join.

Has anybody tried Ethpool.org? Do you think their stratum mining is about 10-20% higher than the getwork based mining?

When will Ethereium stop being possible to mine with 3GB GPUs ?

Around end of this year. But PoW phase of mining will finish before then. It will change to PoS before then.

I heard it was like in 45 days.

Where do you hear about it? PoW will last for around 10 months, then it will be replaced by PoS.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I have a Sapphire 7970 Dual X GPU. What should i mine and why? on: January 26, 2016, 08:38:14 PM
You can mine Ethereum. It is the most profitable coin for grahics cards. Dash is not so profitable.

432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: January 11, 2016, 08:59:11 PM
I was gonna mine Ethereum for fun but a lot of steps are involoved in setting it up. I don't have a programming background so I just gave up. I do like the idea behind Ethereum.

If you run windows, the process is not complicated. It is similar to other altcoin mining. You just need to follow the steps.

where the best cloud mining?

Hashnet could be good one.
434  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Question About investing on: January 07, 2016, 10:27:31 AM
You are posting in the investor-based games section--my advice to you is to run away from here as fast as you can.

People have said--and it's true--buying bitcoin and holding is investing and that's probably all you should do.  Most investment opportunities that have presented themselves here have turned out to be scams.  Just buy and hold.

In a Ponzi, if you are not too greedy, and exit before the last wave, you can still make some money. But it is risky.
435  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Question About investing on: January 04, 2016, 10:59:24 AM
Hi Smiley I have about .35 BTC and i want to invest it somewhere were i will eventually ROI and be making profit after a couple months. I saw Ore-mine but im not exactly sure how that works. Any suggestions on where to invest or how ore-mine works? Thanks

The rule of thumb is: Don't invest in cloud mining, HYIPs or any dodgy ponzi schemes.

You're better off gambling if you do plan on investing in any of the above. At least you get a chance to win when you gamble.

It is still safe to invest in the bitmain's cloud mining service (Hashnest), but the return is quite low, something like 12% a year.

To those that are saying it's okay to mine with free electricity, you're running your PC at max. capacity. You are burning it out faster than normal. You then have to factor in costs (PSU, motherboard, CPU, GPU). It's NOT free like some of you claim.

If you underlock and undervoltage your CPU, you are not stressing your PC. But you will get almost no bitcoin. Bitcoin is only for ASIC.
437  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-23] Bitcoin Cracks 100 Million Transactions, Comes of Age on: December 23, 2015, 08:57:25 PM
It is an important mile stone for the 100 million transactions. But more of the transactions are dust and so called stress test. Maybe the next 100 million transactions will be more important.

Maybe you can provide loan to forum members. Make sure you check the borrowers properly and there is enough collateral.
439  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-12-10] CF: Coinnections launches AML and KYC software for bitcoin business on: December 10, 2015, 02:28:42 PM
This software should help bitcoin enter main stream. It can help prove who the customer of a company is. It will help the adoption of bitcoin.
440  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin generator on: December 04, 2015, 11:23:11 AM
It is better to buy bitcoin directly. Most of those generators are virus. They will steal your account details. There is no easy money to be made.
