421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 04, 2023, 03:34:27 AM
Do you have an advance prediction on the Warriors vs Lakers game 2 and what the best bet would be? I'm thinking of betting on the Warriors -5 since I expect them to bounce back strongly, similar to what the Celtics did. However, can they break down the good defense that the Lakers showed in game 1?

The Lakers are dominating the paint, and if the Warriors' 3-point shooting is not consistent, the Lakers are likely to win. In game 1, the Lakers only shot 24% beyond the arc, while the Warriors shot 40%, yet they still lost the game. Maybe the Warriors need to shoot more with a higher percentage.

Additionally, in terms of free throw attempts, the Warriors only had 6 while the Lakers had 29, a huge disparity.

Boston slapped up the Sixers with Embiid back. It looked to me like Embiid ran out of gas after the first half. He was taking some plays off and I think it cost his team. I’m not saying the Sixers are better without Embiid, but they’re definitely better than having an injured slow Embiid out there and I think that showed tonight.
The 76ers don't have to rely too much on Embiid; their ball movement is great and more unpredictable if they don't expect Embiid to deliver a big-time performance every game. They should make a big adjustment going back home as this loss is a big statement from the Celtics that they can dominate the 76ers. With that said, I think the 76ers will win Game 3, and the Celtics will be able to tie the series in Game 4.

Despite the blowout loss, the advantage is still on the 76ers as they've already stolen one win on the road. The series is now tied 1-1. Let's see how this series goes.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: May 03, 2023, 09:35:16 PM
Well, in that part you have a complete reason, I saw that fight with the full intention that Pacquiao could give one of those explosive Demonstrations to which we were Accustomed, but I don't know what happened to the Filipino, maybe at that moment it was not thinking more in politics than in anything else, that fight was really a shame, I'm sure that if Pacquiao had Trained a little harder he would have won the fight easily, there are times when athletes trust only their talent and don't train or not they work to improve and be more efficient, and things like that happen.

He mentioned that he was having problems with his foot after the fight, which affected his movement. Pacquiao is known for his quickness, but he wasn't as quick when he fought Ugas, so it's clear that he was telling the truth. However, upsets can happen in boxing, so we can't discount the possibility that Donaire could lose for any number of reasons.
Yes, is that Pacquiao shouldn't have fought like that, also at that moment Ugas could beat him, and then when Pacquiao lost to him, the frustration of feeling that age was not helping him, that there is much more competition, that he gave up winning from a boxer who was not so Famous, that partly makes a boxer say or say himself that he is no longer the same as before, and that Influenced him to retire, it is not necessary to do an interview to see what It actually went through his head in his thoughts, more or less I think that would be what he concluded, and it is easier to do ezexhibition fights.

Apart from the foot problems that he was facing, at that time, Manny Pacquiao was already busy on his schedule as in the same time, he was also campaigning for the presidential seat in the Philippines which gave him a fewer time to prepare against Ugas instead having a long-break to only focus on his preparations towards his incoming fight.

Which did not really him a lot towards in the day of the fight because Yordenis Ugas successfully upset the Filipino champ and took the WBA Super World belt with him.

We can't remove that fact as seeing him fighting that day he knows that he still can do it but his body is not moving the way he wanted, age factor and the predation and focus is not in the same level since there are many things inside his mind.

The loss is something that he admits and accepts though for sure there's regret as knowing Pacquiao he always wanted to please the fans who supporting him throughout of his career.

But he cannot control the outcome as Ugas performs well and absorbs all those power combinations from Pacquiao.

We could speculate and all that maybe a different outcome will exist if ever Manny Pacquiao given despite his age doesn't have that much stress on thinking about the presidential race and his focus were not really divided, and only have his eyes towards the preparation for his fight against Ugas. But that is not what happened and Ugas certainly deserved all the credits for defeating the Filipino champion which was envied by many because not all boxers have the right skill to bring down Pacquiao or even got the chances to face and fight Pacquiao in the ring.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: May 03, 2023, 08:47:55 PM
I have seen a lot of people creating threads to post their winnings and bragging that they know how to win but they cannot keep up because there are days that they have a long losing run, even if they tried to win they cannot so their thread gets buried because they have a hard time winning again.

Agree, I don't know what's up with these people who keep on making some thread to share their winnings because I'm somehow confused between the lines where I'm not sure if they are bragging or just wanted to be famous (even if that is not really achievable by doing those kind of things). Even the so-called professional gamblers are not exempted from loss, they too have their own share of defeats in gambling but the beauty about them is that they know how to control and know how to bounce back from that loss so that their status will be maintained.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: May 03, 2023, 07:19:39 PM
Good stand point, if you have the knowledge and you are confident about how you assess every game that you are involving yourself in gambling, then why bother using AI?
Right, it makes sense, I once used the help of ChatGPT in sports betting, especially football, four times I tried, the fourth time I got the bad luck AI was really messy, the information that the robot provides, 100% of the information that is on the internet and is generally known by the public.

Until now I always remember what was said by: @Geoffrey Hinton.
Quote
Hinton says the dangers of AI are more than that. AI can cloud the human view of truth and lies.

"The general public will find it difficult to distinguish what is true and what is not true. Photos, videos, and text generated by generative AI systems are flooding the internet as a source of human information today.

Until whenever I always remember what Mr AI' said, what @Fredomago said was precise and reasonable, bets of any kind, predictions, self-analysis are the best and can be trusted.

Of course, I don't think that the AI's opinion will matter anymore or will be more reliable than our self-analysis to predict the likelihood of any game mainly if we really understood how the game works. Instead, using AI will just make you more confused with your analysis and will just make the situation much more chaotic because you are not that sure anymore about your bet because the AI is saying something opposite to your predictions, and worse, you will start questioning yourself because you don't have the confidence anymore.

Either way, it's still the same, using AI to predict the outcome of the match doesn't guarantee your wins.

We all share our standpoint and our views regarding to this matter but we also know that there are people around who will continue to chase for any possibilities I mean if they feel that AI can give them good analysis then expect them to blindly believe that it will have a higher chance to win the bet.

Just one thing is for sure during our gambling session, it's our hard earned money even it's a spare for entertainment or being allocated to gamble and try winning something out from the house, we still have the control and the final decision making, either to continue chasing for AI's help or just do the usual routine and bet according to our knowledge.

Can't really blame some gamblers if they use AI for their own good because I know they started trusting to use it because they've got a better outcome compared when they were the ones doing it. But for other gamblers, like us, who seeks entertainment and views every win as an added bonus will surely not ask the AI for some help because in that way, it's not that entertaining anymore as we already put our fate into the hands of AI instead of deciding the likelihood of the outcome ourselves.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losses In Gambling That Still Haunts You Until This Day on: May 03, 2023, 06:51:14 PM
I can remember most of my wins but not of my losses because it truly is haunting if I'll still got those in my mind. Well but if I try to remember them, they're not really much as I'm not a hardcore gambler. Unlike those that I'm seeing in here that they've got a lot to lose and they're okay with it since they're determined gamblers.

We've got the same situation because I cannot really remember exactly what happened or when did that happened even if I wanted to recall the specifics on purpose so that I can post it here or share it in a different situation, it's just that all is just vague to me. But I know that when I had those big losses in the past, it really haunted me in the first few couple of nights, it's like my brain is having a re-do on the very same situation so that I can move on to it quickly.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 03, 2023, 06:22:30 PM
Bookies are insisting that Knicks are the better team in this series vs Heat and I see totally different than them. I see Heat as a finals contenders right now and last night it was Heat to played poorly rather than Knicks played good but I can see this series going down until game 7 with Heat moving further.

That is good for us, I'm not complaining because I get to bet on the Miami Heat with a juicy moneyline because the bookies are favoring the Knicks compared to the Miami Heat. Which I can't really blame them because Heat got two good and important players injured, namely Herro and Oladipo, and that might be the reason behind why.

But remember that in Game 2, without Jimmy Butler, the Heat almost got the win. So, what more if Jimmy was there. Let's just ride with it mate, it's no biggy, really.
428  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for the best tipsters in the world on: May 01, 2023, 07:18:02 PM
Hello! I Looking for the best tipsters in the world
winrate 80%+, better is 90%+(Asian Bet or Bet365), you know what I said
~snip~

To save you time, you are looking for the impossible and you will never find it because such tipsters do not exist. If by any chance they existed and in addition shared their tips with others, most bookmakers would fail very quickly, or they would be forced to block them. You have countless tipsters online who offer their "premium services", although the question is why they sell information that is supposedly very valuable for relatively small amounts?

I know why and how, and you will find out too if you try their services Wink
Yes and if they exist, you probably would think that they are not here to make us profitable but for them to gain an income from us. If that’s what making them from profiting, surely they will continue to deceive people for their own benefits. So never expect to take advantage from those tipsters, even if they are the best ones, because they only exist to make money from us and if in times we also profit too, surely that comes with a good price.
429  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: May 01, 2023, 06:50:35 PM
I prefer to keep them both, no need to chose. It’s hard to trust in trading alone and expect for a consistent income knowing the crypto market is very unpredictable, likewise it’s inflexible and incompetent of yours if you just work all day and earn from a single source of income knowing you can also take advantage with your side hustle and make good profits through trading. So if you wish to get the best from your abilities and skills, then chose to work on both and prosper from them.
430  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: knowing the basic concept is enough for a beginner on: May 01, 2023, 05:59:17 PM
I just thought I could drop this piece of words of inspiration for my personal experience, before this time, I have been discouraged and pushed back from being active here in the forum even though I have been here since 2021, to be sincere with you guys each time I try to be more active and write some posts I always feel discouraged and afraid because I don't know what to say that will be interesting to my readers or having the needed technicality knowledge to make me stand out this feeling have affected my activeness in the past.

Until recently that I made up my mind to start from the basic I know and use whatever tool at my disposal to improve my knowledge and general conduct here, I am from a region where Bitcoin is legal so I have been more open to bitcoin investment and trading.

I urge you all to please bear with me until I build up enough information to meet up with the standards of this forum discussion.

Prestongold

For beginners, it’s important that you learned the basics. And from there, make them more relevant by using them to develop certain skills through the experiences you have gained from the forum. Remember that those who had succeeded in the forum today were once started from the scratch and have only learned the basic in the forum but then they manage to make it grow and become more significant posters in the forum. Everything really started from learning the basic, not just in crypto but certainly in different aspects in life.
431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner mistakes and how to avoid them on: May 01, 2023, 05:36:33 PM
* Over trading-- it's very important for a day trader to limit the number of trade he/she took in a day.
* Lack of trading plan-- develop a strategy an stick to it, do not ever enters a trade blindly, if not the market will remove you blindly.
* Failure to use stop-loss-- to me it's the most important thing I do while trading,
Risk management must be well mastered by a trader. Likewise with other technical mastery that has to do with trading.

For me, overtrading, trading plans and stop losses will be mastered when someone who wants to do trading work is willing to explore knowledge by learning about basic tips and so on which are the main capital, whether the activity is carried out individually or working under the control of a company.
If a trader has gained enough knowledge and experience, he will eventually realized that all these three factors should always be avoided. Otherwise, he will only trade and end up quitting because he experienced consistent losses. And by practicing risk management, a good trader gets to be more aware about its inevitable losses and become more confident to trade more with caution so he will eventually achieved his goals in trading.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: May 01, 2023, 04:59:14 PM
If you could travel back in time today, what would you do?
Every now and then someone asks a similar question and each time I ask why don't people just buy bitcoin right now. It is not like we've reached the maximum price possible! Funny thing is that if you check the price at that time against current price you can see what those who didn't buy then, have already missed out.

For example you can see in this topic some people say "they would have bought $X worth of bitcoins". Price that month dropped as low as $6k and today it is 5x higher! Do you think any of those guys bought bitcoin then instead of wishing they had a time machine?

Who knows, maybe in a couple of years from now I find this topic and post it as an example for someone else who will have asked this question again Roll Eyes
I guess people will just have the same answer, to buy bitcoin while it’s still very cheap and affordable and hold them for years, and just sell them when bitcoin price reaches its highest peak price and gain maximum profits. But if this thread will still be asked years from now, probably people will still regret why they keep on missing opportunities, wishing they could have been billionaires in the present time.
433  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: April 30, 2023, 09:58:47 PM
This discussion is not about gambling, it is about investing, but I will use gamblers to make an example.

Using gamblers as an example who start out with just the intention to have fun maybe and then along the line turn into addicted gamblers that gambling begin to affect other areas of their life like their wellbeing like they stop spending on some important things just so they can make money available for gambling. Now talking about investing, I think it is possible to become addicted to investing so much that it begins to affect your wellbeing, like the person stops spending on other important things like good food, good clothes etc. just so they can have more money to invest? Do you consider that kind of addiction dangerous and not good?
It’s certain that as long as there are profits involved, people will be eventually get attached to it and more likely become addicted to it. But investing addiction is not that bad at all as long as you know your investment well and you’re aware on how to make profits from it and eventually make it prosper. But depriving the good things in your life just to save to invest is actually out of the picture. That is not a good mindset as one should also invest in one’s health and body before we take part in investing for profits.
434  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you sell because of situations? on: April 30, 2023, 09:38:58 PM
This story is pathetic, the man who introduce me to bitcoin, his kid sis was knapped 2 weeks now and the kidnappers are asking for a huge ransom of  N10 Million Nigeria currency but the whole thing looks like a plan work from some people close to him because many people know him to be crypto dealer. Now this money is never available anywhere, the man's only option is to sell his bitcoin and even if he does is not up to the amount. Do you advise he sells and bail his kid sister?  Everybody is confuse.

Many things happens this days, putting you on a test! At what situations did you think you can sell your bitcoin and forget about bitcoin like it has never exist in your life. Knowing well the situation you're into many must have passed it and scale through without selling. What then will make you to sell even if the price is against you?

Every situation that needs immediate action, especially for emergency cases, one should not be confused anymore but stick on how to save what’s need to be save. And by selling bitcoin, if that’s the last option, then I would not hesitate to sell it as long as my loved one will be from danger. We only live life once, so we should seize every moment how to make it more useful and valuable. Bitcoin is just a form of money, we can always obtain it if we really want to.
435  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest your money wisely - another lesson, Techie tries to suicide. on: April 30, 2023, 09:15:33 PM
Just responding due to subjects of the thread, invest is something we have think otherwise before going into investment because I believe that in investment human need to be extremely careful before it invest, secondly invest what you afford to loss, that's while it's encouraging to ensure that you use your spare money to invest in a platform you know quite well you have not mastered since you really want to take the risks.
In everything that take risks, at least we should prepare for it, know what it is all about and how to make it work. Just like investing, we should always invest with caution. Otherwise, we will only be wasting our money and time because we end up investing on too good to be true investments. And to stay at safety zone, invest on what you can manage to lose, an amount that won’t be an issue even if you lose them all. Investment has a lot of risks, especially if you don’t know what you are doing from the start.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 30, 2023, 03:15:04 AM
Suns are not looking good in that first half. They’re shooting efficient but their turnovers and rebounding has been pathetic. They’ve let the Nuggets get 15 more shots in the first half. Hard to win the game when the other team gets to take that many more shots. Durant has 8 rebounds but Ayton only has 3… The rest of the Suns need to start boarding if they’re gonna have a chance.
Kevin Durant was the only one being aggressive on both ends of the floor. I don't think that's the recipe for a winning Phoenix Suns. Lots of frustration fouls happened, it's the playoffs, they must control their emotions here.

"Bubble Murray"
34 points, 6/10 3-pt field goals, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists. He missed two playoff runs and now we could see a more healthy Jamal Murray that looks like he will dominate this series.
With the help of the Joker who posted 24 points, 19 rebounds,5 assists, and the deep bench they won Game 1 against the 2nd in the Western Conference Semis. They have too many weapons both offensively and defensively. Adjustments will surely happen, they should be ready for the counterattack the Suns will give.

It's sad for the Suns as the Nuggets have a big three who consistently score. In this game, the Joker had 24, Gordon had 23, and Murray scored 34. We also have to look at the rebounding department, as the Suns were outrebounded in this game, with a 49-38 disparity. This is just Game 1 though, but the way the Nuggets are playing, it looks like they'll win the two games at home.

For the Suns, I think they should involve their bench players more and not try to tire out their starters. In the end, their starters are likely to get gassed out, so trustig on their bench players will be important.
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 29, 2023, 07:22:42 PM
Too hard to imagine how this thing happens but too unfortunate that it really exists.
Addiction is too powerful that a person could really change their behavior and will commit criminal activities for the sake of fulfilling their addictions.
I can really attest to this one, although it was a different story with that person OP but the reason is the same and he committed a crime (stealing) because of gambling addiction. He is not like that before but due to addiction, send him to jail.

Unfortunately, these does really exists in our world. Addiction can truly make someone blind because they don't know their boundaries anymore and as well as what is right from the wrong. According to the OP's story, the grandfather didn't really think thoroughly about the possible consequence he could bring upon himself as he was just too busy feeding his addiction towards gambling. These things has becoming more and more normal these days because gambling activities is almost everywhere.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: April 29, 2023, 05:22:03 PM
Let's begin with a story (more like a parable) which I think is familiar to some of us...

A Man on his sick bed called two of his sons, and asked both of them, "you both have heard that experience is the best teacher right?"

They both answered - "yes dad"

He then asked the first son - "you my first son, how or what is the best way to learn from experience?"

The first son, after thinking for a while answered "learning from my mistakes, that is, never making the same mistake twice".

The father answered - "that's very good my son, you've answered well".

Then turned to the second son, and asked him the same question..

The second son answered immediately - "it is good to learn from my mistakes, but I think it is better to learn from other people's mistakes, so that I won't have to make mistakes myself before I learn".

The father looked at him and was short of words to empress himself, he told both of them to go, but later called the second son privately and said to him, "I am astonished by the level of your wisdom, you can't take your elder brother's place as my first son, but I put him under your care, do all you can to keep him from taking wrong decisions".

Now, To the main discussion...

Please note that I've previously touched on this topic HERE, but I decide to escalate it as a topic to better reach more gamblers who possibly could learn from the experience..

A supposed friend, he working and has been gambling for a while, recently got lucky, won consistently for 3 good days consecutively..

1st day, he won $670+
2nd day, he won $702+
3rd day, he won $692+
This are the ones I know and saw the slip myself...

For most of us in my area here, it was like he did a charm, I personally envied him to be sincere, but not with any evil intention , I only wished I was as lucky as him..

But the sad thing about the whole thing was that, he's attitude changes, those are big amount when converted to my country's local currency, but not big enough to warrant his Change of attitude..
He started spending anyhow, sleeping in different hotels with different women - before this, he already quit his job, he bought himself an iPhone and also bought an iPhone for one hoe that was following him up and down as a girlfriend - he left our neighborhood and moved to a better place and a bigger apartment, he become arrogant and left some of his friends in times of want behind, he did all he did probably with a mindset that the winnings will keep coming, some even spread some rumor that the guy meet a witch doctor who prepared a luck charm for him, which is what gave him the confidence of quiting his job - to me, this remains a rumor, since there is no way to verify if this is true of false.

Long story short, 2 months after the whole winning spree, this guy lost everything back to casinos where he gambled on, he made gambling his day job, probably increased his bets so as to win more,  but as of today, this guy is joblessly roaming the streets, depend solely on friends to feed, as of yesterday when I overheard him discussing with some one I am also close to, he was asking to help him look for a Job, that what he planned didn't work out - what ever he planned that didn't work out, I don't know, but this is a lesson for us all to learn from.

Gambling is not a business, and neither should you ever take it as a day job, in reference to this thread - it is likely impossible to make a consistent winning from gambling, there are day you win, even much more than $100, and there are days you will lose it all, to make a consistent $100 or more every day in gambling is a mirage, wishful thinking that might never happen.

Feel free to chip in your contribution.

Well, that was quite a good amount of winnings and he could've been more thousands of dollars richer if he managed his expense correctly and didn't have the wrong mindset when it comes to handling the money. But who are we to blame him, the man is just living his life to the fullest and enjoyed everything up to the last penny, I mean he deserved that (except for the hoe thing) because it's his own money in the first place.

But I can't help but think that what he did was just a total waste of time and money because he prioritized buying things that are not so useful and all of that was just a liability, instead of making himself more rich by investing into something that could give him another source of income.

Anyway, I sure do hope that by now, he already learned his mistake and that not all things are permanent. So it's much wiser to do the right thing as we don't know what will happen in the future.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is your stand as a Bitcoin holder. on: April 29, 2023, 04:46:07 PM
Most likely the majority here could be in the last tier. No offense, but it seems every one is late on the bandwagon, or least just join the fun in 2017 and we really don't know what to expect or at least have plans to accumulate as much as we can. Or even if he did save a lot, maybe sold off during the height of the bull run to make money and take that profits.

Nothing is wrong with that, but at least if we didn't sell our stash and wait for the bear market, accumulate, rinse and repeat them maybe as time goes by, we could be going up in the tier position.
Same here, even up to now, I still belong in the last tier because even if I had known bitcoin since 2016, I'm still learning about it and it took a while until I purchased a fraction of bitcoin. The year 2017 is quite unforgettable and somehow memorable because that was my first and biggest mistake as I sold most of my shares much earlier as I don't have that much fate at that time that it would literally skyrocket.

But I would understand if everyone is not going to disclosed how much BTC they have.
Yup, there's no need to disclose that kind of information.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 28, 2023, 08:41:42 PM
Well, I think both Ryan Garcia and Goosen made a mistake because they didn't prepared for that fight well but they expected a different outcome. Goosen should've planted into Ryan Garcia's thick head that he should use his size advantage because Tank Davis will definitely have a hard time landing a good clean punch if he cannot reach Ryan, but what happened was the exact opposite because it's Ryan who adjusted to give Tank the control of the fight, which explains why Tank didn't have any hard time giving Ryan a good counter punch that knocked him down in two separate rounds.

Right because if only Ryan Garcia and his team made the right adjustment, they could've at least give Gervonta Davis a hard time rather than getting KO'd as early as 2nd round because of overcommitting rather than to wait patiently until Gervonta Davis will make the mistake for reaching Ryan Garcia. I clearly expected that after that incident, Ryan Garcia will try to clear his head because that move was obviously a mistake and would be cautious enough next time but he committed the same mistake again.

Anyway, Ryan Garcia already said that he's moving up while Tank might face the winner of Loma-Haney fight. Whatever it is, let's talk about that in a different thread because I think it's time for this discussion to be close.
