421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High school dropout who invested in bitcoin is now a millionaire at 18 on: July 04, 2017, 01:33:37 PM
http://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2017/06/20/bitcoin-millionaire-erik-finman-says-going-to-college-isnt-worth-it.html

Erik invested in bitcoin when he was 12 and not is a millionaire at age of 18.  This is a good story for Bitcoin.

But here is something that I do not understand:

An excerpt from the article:
"Eventually he found a buyer for Botangle's technology in January 2015. The investor offered either $100,000 or 300 bitcoin, which had dropped in value at that time to a little more than $200 a coin. He took the lower cash value bitcoin deal because he believed it was "the next big thing."

"My parents asked 'Why don't you take the more cash?"' Finman explained. "But I thought of it more of an investment.""

Why didn't he take the $100K and bought more bitcoins instead?  Granted that there has to be some tax consideration, but tax rate has to be as high as 40% in order for both of the cash option and the bitcoins option to breakeven.  If the tax rate was at 40%, then he could get $60K after tax and would be able to buy 300 bitcoins at the market price ($200 at the time).  Moreover, one day when he sells the bitcoins, he can dedect $200 on each of the bitcoins from the capital gain as cost.

Am I missing something in here?  Don't drop out from high school?   Cheesy

Well to be honest Erik is one lucky kid, at the age of 12 he already invested on bitcoin but as you said when he is 18 he is now a millionaire. For I think that he did a right decision to invest on bitcoin, no one actually thought that bitcoin will be this big and this kid Erik, I believe that he did not expect it either that the coin he invested will hit the jackpot. Well for the one that you don't understand the answer is simple, DO NOT DROP OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL EVEN IF YOU'RE ALREADY MILLIONAIRE. Education is very important, same as the one that you explained he should have took the $100,000 and then he can buy new bitcoins which was ($200) at the time. Even with tax he can earn more and get more bitcoin when he took the $100K this is a mistake on his side, he should have asked his parents on what he can do and what are his options to it. He is still a kid, he has to learn more that's why you don't leave school just because your a millionaire look at those big CEO's in Facebook, Apple, and etc. they maybe a dropouts but they went back to school so that they can expand their knowledge. Becoming a millionaire doesn't mean you need to stop going to school, it means that you have the money to learn more and knowledge is the most important the money.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 04, 2017, 01:19:19 PM
There is no easy way in this world, and in this topic bitcoin will not make you an instant rich, you need to work hard for it and learn about it. I don't know why do people think that bitcoin will make you rich and etc..? Yes, there is a possibility that you can get rich in bitcoin but its not easy, you need to work hard and like any other jobs you need to work hard so that you'll get promoted and get a better job. There is no easy way in this world, I learned that in a hard way and still trying to learn. It's always best to work hard and get rich than getting rich in just easy way that's because you don't appreciate the value of the money that you have because you did not work hard on it. Than working hard to achieve your goal is the greatest feeling of all time.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: @Philippines An addicted gambler gone wild on: July 04, 2017, 01:13:26 PM
First of all, may the ones who died rest in peace and for the families that got affected on the tragic even may got help from the government and other people. This is just pure addiction and self distractions to the attacker, the reason why he did that is not a terrorist act but an addiction and lose of self control to himself. There are many possibilities on why he did that, he might be on drugs or he was on medication. We don't know because after the accident he set himself on fire and no one in mind wants to do that if you are right in mind. This person is clearly addicted on gambling because what else could he possible doing attacking a casino and stealing the poker chips and then set himself on fire?. I just want to say that may the family who lost its family member may rest and peace and may this will never happen.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Outcome of Horn vs. Pacquiao on: July 03, 2017, 06:36:20 PM
Did Horn really won this fight? or Pacquiao just got robbed again? Do Horn really deserve the hate, he's getting right now? or Is it the time for the People's Champ to retire?

To all those who bet on this match, any thoughts on how the fight ends? I myself can't believe the results of this match even though I bet for Horn, I should be happy but no.

Will the game of boxing is rigged, its all have been set up before the match. Yes the game was really intense and many people who was watching it go excited on the game but I think that people's Champ got robbed but we don't know whats behind this. We might see a rematch and let Pacquiao win so just for the money and etc.. we don't know for sure whats happening. The game of boxing will be over if this happens again and again. As you can see all of the commentators are on favor of Pacquiao base on what they saw on the game mostly all of them on favor or Pacquiao, he has more and clear punches than Horn but the judges let Horn win and still the belt. It might be because its their hometown?. We don't know, we don't even know who are the judges and where they came from. They should be questioned watch the reply's but in boxing they don't do that they stick on old school were whats decided is what really is decided but this is just unfair. I don't call this boxing this is just pure bullsht.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you start gambling? (Because of BCT Promotion?) on: July 03, 2017, 06:27:00 PM
When did you start gambling online (and offline if you do not mind sharing)? Is it because of the awesome Games and Rounds forum at Bitcointalk?

Do you only start gambling after you use Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) because you feel that you cannot be tracked?

I actually gambling at casinos before I discovered bitcoin but I was really not into it and was gambling only occasionally but when I discover bitcoin. I actually got interested on it again but this time gambling online, I tried on searching on how can I earn more and win more in gambling here and everywhere else but I don't see ways that to happen. Most of them time when I tried to gamble I lose most of my BTC or when I win some I actually just lose them in an instant. So for me its really not worth it to gamble, I just prefer on investing and saving it for the future because I know the prices of the coins will increase overtime especially bitcoin. So that's my story and I really don't think that I can earn in gambling because I have no luck in that.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: July 03, 2017, 06:22:52 PM
hi guys, i bought 1BTC today and i am wondering to gamble or to invest the 1btc?

if to gamble

best site to gamble with a really nice provably fair..

and if to invest.

best investment program wherein no scam.

thank you for your opinions guys

cheers

First of all your very lucky that you have 1 BTC in your pocket, for me in my opinion I would think whats the best for you to do is that you can save the half of it and the other half you can invest on it and or you can gamble it but I prefer investing because you can surely earn on it than gambling you'll just lose some of it and you'll just get greedy or depress of losing or winning on bitcoin. I don't suggest on gambling because me myself don't like gambling its just like giving money for free. You buy other coins and can do pump or dump or what you can do is that buy some coins and also save them for the future but surely left and save some bitcoins because bitcoin will surely be increasing over time and as we can see today the price is incredibly high how much more in the future right?. In the end of the day its really up to you on what you wanna do. we are all just suggesting.  Smiley Good luck.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC Gambling? on: July 03, 2017, 06:18:12 PM
Low minimum BTC Gambling sites?

They all start the minimum bet size at .001 btc or .0001 btc. Im looking for a gambling website that has the lowest bet size at .0000001 or less. Low btc minimum betting sites around?. Anyone know any?

Or low minimum (.0000001 btc or less) btc Forex that accepts USA?

So far looks like primedice the only one.

Any info? Thanks!!

There are some gambling sites that you can bet a really low amount but that's your job to find one, you can search it in google and etc... but the problem of gambling really low amount is that you have a specific amount to withdraw it and sometimes its pretty high and its hard to win that amount because your losing most of your BTC and the betting is really low, that's my opinion on betting on really low amount of BTC but we all have different opinion and all of us are different. If you can bet all day until you win and can withdraw it, good for you but I have no patient on that.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AICOIN ICO:: Building Wealth Thru AI & the Power of the Blockchain on: July 03, 2017, 06:10:54 PM
It can be said that the idea of this project is quite interesting from the background by using a short-term two-step investment strategy and disseminating long-term investments.
Most important is alcoin that seeks to bridge the gap between trading companies without formal structures. I think this is the right choice for investors to stop by.

Indeed it is. Using AI technology for trading, giving holders a chance to choose ventures by voting to invest in are some features which make AICOIN special. I am pretty sure coin will surge with time, it is good opportunity for investors.

This is true, we are in a generation today that technology is so overwhelming, AI technologies are coming and no one can stop it. There many people are against AI's but we know that AI's can definitely can help us in our future and for our new generations to come. All we have to do is to think about the positive things that can happen and also the negative but what's important is that we can control them. There is nothing wrong on it as long as people don't use it for the purpose to hurt other people. This campaign is that really interesting, and this is one step closer to our future. I know investors are really happy and its worth of their money. This campaign will be successful as we can see there are investors who are truly interested on this campaign.  Wink
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with LBC? on: July 01, 2017, 10:44:27 PM

I suggest on holding for now because as you can see in the market the price of the LBC is kinda low compare to other days that when the price is high. When it does you can see it in higher price and sell it in lower price but this takes time so you need patience and always check in market so you won't miss anything. In holding there is no specific time how long you will hold at as the other guy said you should probably hold it for now because you'll regret if the price pumps up and you sold your coin on a lower price. If I were you just wait or you can do is pump and dump but its really up to you in the end of the day. We are just suggesting thinks and your the one that's deciding so good luck in your coin.  Wink
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: LIVE CASINO RIGGED? VIDEO PROOF on: June 30, 2017, 09:33:56 PM
Nice video of how they are rigging the game...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51bc1ypNsrU

Well I watch the video and it seems legit, I think that can be happen on a live casino when you play roulette because we actually don't know whats in their machine and we are just there to play, casinos are also business who want to earn money and that's what they do to earn more and more money and robbing us in that game. I think it could be a possibility especially now in our technology is so high tech that we don't know we are being cheated of winning. They are also greedy that's why they do this sht. Nothing in this world is free now and casinos who are like this giving you also the chances to not win ever in your life. The possibility of you winning is now "0%" rather than 0.001%. Also, the problem in this is that we don't know how to uncover this and we don't want to waste our money that we worked hard just to get cheated and lose all of you bets this is really unfair to us who gambles especially if your new, I would  suggest not to gamble instead use it in other things that can make you happy, rather than being depress and cry about losing all of your money.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: June 30, 2017, 09:23:51 PM
Well for me my brother was kinda asking about what bitcoin is and what you can do on bitcoin, I also told him some brief explanation[ on how you can earn bitcoin and what is the current market price of bitcoin today but he actually doesn't care about it because he don't see it that it is reasonable to earn that income $5 per week and now I'm earning $20 per week because eh always compare it to a legit job that you work 8 hours a day and hard work to earn like $800 in 2 weeks but its not like that bitcoin is increasing everyday and the value of the bitcoin is not stable it can sky rocket to the highest point than regular money were your per hour wage is the same until you quit and move to another job. I did not encounter other people who asked about bitcoin for help, but I was actually the one who asked for help into how can I earn bitcoins and one of my friend back home in my country taught me how to earn and now I'm doing it and earning every week.  Wink
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you feel when win in gambling? on: June 30, 2017, 09:10:14 PM
I always feel satisfied when winning in gambling, by having that feeling I feel a bit of pride from myself. A little sad but I think almost all gamblers have the same feelings like me, then how about you? Do you want to share your story for us discussing in here.

For me when I win on gambling, I always get happy on winning and mostly get confident which will make more and more confident until I will bet and lose all of it. I think that gambling is really not for me because whenever I gamble I really don't have the luck and the control to keep my winnings. I feel more depress on gambling because of losing all of my winnings and I don't want to waste all of my money just to give it for free for other people. I work hard to earn my money and just lose it in an instant, I would prefer to use it in other things like to buy GPU for my mining computer and other things to make me happy and not to make me depress. For me I see gambling as an occasional game, If there is an event or if my parent wan't to go to casino I would bet but I would always have a limit on myself because I know that I'm not lucky enough to play gambling.  Wink
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Governments Shutdown the Internet? on: June 30, 2017, 09:04:08 PM
The Government has the power to shutdown internet especially on big countries but the problem is that if they do their would be a big chaos around the world because most of our technology in our generation now is run by internet and if it goes shut down there would be a big downfall in economical and in our technology in our world but what can the government can do is that they cal block bitcoin from processing if they don't want bitcoin but I think they will not do that because bitcoin has not done anything illegal in the internet or the people who are using it and they can actually earn more money if they start investing on bitcoin especially businesses that run by the governments. So there are a lots of positive things that can the government that can benefit on bitcoin that negative and I do think that sooner or later they will join and bitcoin will spread around the world.  Wink
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to feel dumb and smart at the same time. on: June 30, 2017, 08:57:31 PM
So I'm back. You might not recognize this account , but that is because i made only a few posts around 2011. I was there at basically the beginning. I could be rich right now.. That's an odd thought! I was there, but i didn't put the time or effort in. Now im back, Bitcoin is higher than i ever thought it'd be, and i'm trading on exchanges. Live and learn. I feel dumb for not staying in, but smart for getting back in. What were you doing Bitcoin wise in 2011? Did you even know about Bitcoin?

Well to be true to you, we are actually the same back at the time like 2011 or 2012 one of my friend in HS was actually investing on bitcoin and he told me about it and I was pretty dumb that I did not look really into it and what it can do in the future. I was really dumb at that time for not investing on it knowing what it is because I just though it was nothing it was just a scam or its just like Paypal were you put money in to it and you can buy something on the web but I was wrong, he was actually investing and doing dump and pump. I regret that time that I did not take the time to check what is bitcoin., I actually just started investing and earning bitcoin in campaign here in bitcointalks this year were the price of bitcoin is pretty high and I can't afford to buy in real money but the good thing is that now I have the knowledge and save some to invest on bitcoin. We all have regrets but late is better than doing nothing right?.  Cheesy
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is betting a good choice for a newbie? on: June 30, 2017, 03:23:25 AM
I am earning and collecting bitcoin to bet on sports in future. Will it be a good choice to invest in it betting or other things.Where should i invest my bitcoin to have a long term profit?

Well as a newbie I would not recommend for you to gamble on any sites or games just because you don't know yet on how things work here in cryptoworld. Don't get me wrong, you can gamble all you want if you really want to and if you have control on yourself whenever you lose some bitcoin. As you can see the price of bitcoin is incredibly high and when people just bet and keep betting until they lose all of their bitcoin is a total distraction to your self. You will regret doing and you will get depress and rage and etcc. so for me it not advice able to bet when you are new but its really up to you if you have no greed and can control your self just go for it. I would suggest on investing it first and get some knowledge on bitcoins before doing so invest on your bitcoin on different altcoins to see and check until you will have the knowledge and until you have the confidence to play and bet.  Wink
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2017, 02:59:32 AM
Hi guys Smiley May I know what are your plans on your Bitcoin in the future? Do you plan to keep on investing on Bitcoin related businesses or do plan to convert it into fiat and ventures on new business?

I'm planning to invest more on Bitcoin related companies and convert some of my Bitcoin into fiat and invest it on our local stock market. How about you?

All people have different ideas on their plans on their bitcoin, you actually have a good idea on investing it to other bitcoin related businesses and or then convert it to fiat for a new business but there is also risks on it that you need to think about, sometimes unexpected things happen and you don't want in a situation that all of your savings and hard work on earn bitcoin will be gone in an instant, so before you decide for your future you need to check first and then decide if its legit to do that or not?. For me what I'm planning on my bitcoin is if possible to invest it for the future but also when I needed something to buy or when I have enough money to upgrade my mining computer, I would buy parts but still earning.  Grin
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport is the easiest to wager/win on: June 30, 2017, 02:46:32 AM
Which sports or matches are the easiest to wager on? I know different people like different sports but which one is most or easily profitable than others? Most people stick with what they know only, like me I prefer tennis, world cup football and basketball but which ones you should bet on since they are "easy"

For me it depends in yourself if which one is the easiest to wager that's because all of us are different, like some people like basketball, some like football, and some like soccer and so on and so forth. We have all different likes and dislikes, for me I would say that the easiest for me is basketball because I always watch basketball and I know the players so much and which teams are likely to when when they play with each other. It is just the same with other sports so its really up to you or the person on which one is he/she want to wager/bet on. In betting on sports you actually need to know the players and how they play and see what is their stats, so there is really no easy one to bet on.  Wink
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, is it worth spending time collecting it? on: June 28, 2017, 09:04:36 PM
Is it worth spending time to collect Bitcoin rather than having a daily job? What I mean is that can bitcoin be more economical? Has it ever happened that people lose their investment value rather than benefit from spending it on bitcoin?

Well for me bitcoin is worth the time to collect because as I can see now looking at the market price of bitcoin it has increase over time especially in our generation today we have all the possibilities and our technology is being improve everyday. I do collect bitcoin via campaigns and faucets and mining but it doesn't mean that its better than having a daily job. Yes, some people has made income on bitcoin because of their specialty or skills that they have. They maybe a programmer or graphic designer but for some people who work on trades or people who are not tech related jobs of course their job is better than this because that's their specialty. I think bitcoin has the way of our generation to improve when the time comes sooner or later bitcoin will be a way of our payment. Yes I do think that many people has also lose their investments due to the market price and etcc. rather than benefit them from spending it but that's also the risks of investing its just the same as money now but in the future it will be bitcoin.  Wink
439  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: June 28, 2017, 08:57:18 PM

Well the there is no impossible in this world and we don't know the future in this world and especially in our technology today that improving everyday. For me I thin it may or may not be able to it has a chance of 50/50 because for me bitcoin is reachable through online and many cities around the world has no access on internet or even they don't have the device to use to connect on the web but We don't know what ahead on us in the future maybe we will get free internet in all counties via satellite or something. We don't know what will happen and if it does happen many people will surely be happy. No one wants to be broke and stay in poverty and for us to be able that all of us people should work hard to achieve the impossible. There are many mysteries in this world so for now we just have to wait and see what will happen and that's what is the exciting part of it.  Wink
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Gambling, Money is not everything on: June 28, 2017, 08:51:18 PM
What is the prime motto for your gambling.
Many people here are against considering gambling as a earning source. Without money, you will not be able to gamble.
Just for fun type of gamblers, only a demo account or a video game is more than enough.

Please share your ideas on role of money in gambling.

This is so much true for me, in my opinion gambling for me is just for fun not like source of income because in gambling its hard to know if your gonna win some or not. I prefer working on a legit job because I know that I'm earning than in gambling there is always a high chance to lose all of your earnings of money and it sucks when that happen. Gambling should just be a way of entertainment and fun, but many people still gamble for income and some people go broke just because of it. I think that when in gambling people should have a limit on how much they can gamble. Gambling is a way to relax and have fun not to make your life miserable just because you lost all of your money or your winnings. demo account or video games are better than gambling, there are many things that you can do in your money than gambling it and losing it all.  Wink
