421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be too big to fail? on: November 14, 2017, 11:07:25 PM
After spending much time as a guest on this forum learning all I can about Bitcoin, I finally decided to join. Glad to be here and thanks for all the great advice along the way!

Now I have a question I'd like to ask. Is Bitcoin going to get to the point where it is too big to fail? The government bailed out Wall Street to avoid a financial collapse. Can Bitcoin gain the same status as Wall Street? The market cap is steadily increasing making it a big player in the game and I'm looking forward to where it is headed.

Thanks in advance!

Bitcoin is now on it's peak, the higher demand and popularity in the digital currency. I think bitcoin now is not that big but it can never be fall that easy.

But my speculation is focusing with this present time but we can never tell the future of bitcoin.
422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing faith in BTC... on: November 13, 2017, 11:51:50 PM
Who else is losing faith in BTC? I use to believe that BTC would change the world. What I just witnessed last night with BCH attempting to take over just shook my entire belief in BTC and crypto currency in general. It feels pretty obvious to me that BTC is the best thing ever and BCH is built upon greed, but I'm not entirely confident that either will win in the end anymore.

The huge boost in BCH overnight makes me wonder if anything in the crypto world is legit. Seems like everything is based upon greed. All the figure heads that are suppose to support BTC started being like "oh yeah, BCH is the new bitcoin now guys". John Mccafee (yup, the guy who said he'd eat his own dick on TV if BTC doesn't make it to $500,000 by 2020) is all like BCH is the solution blah blah blah. I figured okay, people are getting paid off to say stuff like this, he's a miner after all so he's looking for money. But then I started reading the core developer's tweets. They either don't talk about BCH, but even some of them were talking about BCH taking over.

I get that pump and dumps are going to happen, but when developers are switching to BCH this means either two things. One, BCH will become the new BTC. Two, developers are greedy and care about making money than BTC.

Another part of me wonders whether this was a pump and dump or not. Perhaps BCH really is better now.

Decentralization, limited supply, medium of exchange, store of value. These words are thrown around a lot when describing BTC, but it just seems to me that people really care only about money. When the developers are like this, that is means for worry. This means people will make changes to BTC strictly for hype to make money, even if it actually hurts the security of the coin.

The only figure head in the crypto world that I feel is trustworthy is the creator of LTC. My reasons are this:
1) He hasn't pumped the crap out of Litecoin with false propaganda
2) He was awkward on TV when talking about Litecoin
3) Intuitively seems more genuine

Last night has left me depressed all day today. I'm very bothered by this. I feel like if I go with BCH I lose. If I go with BTC I lose. I feel like BTC is the good guy and BCH is the evil guy. However, BCH might win in the end. I see possible +EV with BCH though. So last night I caved guys. I caved. I feel sad but I did. I bought BCH which I thought I would never do (I didn't sell most of my BTC, It is like a hedge I suppose). Just seems like the +EV thing to do. Couldn't figure out if it was a pump/dump or a takeover so went with my limited knowledge.

If BCH makes it to $3,000ish I will dump some of my BCH for BTC again.

I'm distraught guys and not in a good way either. I kind of feel like I might be getting played, but I might be making the right decision.

Bitcoin is started to go back and started to pump again. I am not loosing faith in BTC i am confident that btc will recover again. I am more confident with btc than putting my investment to a coin that is being controlled and managed by someone else.
423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 12, 2017, 10:24:39 PM

I guess someone just want to manipulate the market. That is very ridiculous and very unprofessional. Doing something for your own benefits is unbelievable.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: November 11, 2017, 11:09:43 PM
ETH is very good coin after BTC in history of cryptocurrency .i guess it will touch 1000$ in coming few months

I guess this speculation will not go smoothly as what it is expected.  ETH now is @ $315 it will definitely not go up to $1000.
425  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: November 10, 2017, 12:04:59 PM
I recently paid for some local tacos using Bitcoin. My friend who was unfamilar with Bitcoin thought it was strange, like I technically didn't pay for them or something. We got into discussing Bitcoin and one of the questions he asked me was:
"Why would you want Bitcoins instead of cash?". For a second I didn't know what to say; then I thought about it and here is what I came up with. Feel free to contribute to this.

1) More security (especially if you are careful).

2) Bitcoins are a potential investment, cash is not. Paper currency only really goes down in value, Bitcoins have a lot of potential to be worth more as time goes on.

3) Fast, worldwide transactions at your fingertips.

4) Similar to #3, but it's a universal currency. It's legal in most countries of the world and you don't need any kind of currency conversion to send money to people in a different country than your own.

I really love bitcoin because it is very convenient to use, no need to bring some cash. I can also pay my bills thru bitcoin.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Cancelled on: November 09, 2017, 02:57:06 AM
Segwit2X has been cancelled.

https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-segwit2x/2017-November/000685.html

The Segwit2x effort began in May with a simple purpose:  to increase the
blocksize and improve Bitcoin scalability. At the time, the Bitcoin
community was in crisis after nearly 3 years of heavy debate, and consensus
for Segwit seemed like a distant mirage with only 30% support among miners.
Segwit2x found its first success in August, as it broke the deadlock and
quickly led to Segwit’s successful activation. Since that time, the team
shifted its efforts to phase two of the project - a 2MB blocksize increase.

Our goal has always been a smooth upgrade for Bitcoin.  Although we
strongly believe in the need for a larger blocksize, there is something we
believe is even more important: keeping the community together.
Unfortunately, it is clear that we have not built sufficient consensus for
a clean blocksize upgrade at this time. Continuing on the current path
could divide the community and be a setback to Bitcoin’s growth. This was
never the goal of Segwit2x.

As fees rise on the blockchain, we believe it will eventually become
obvious that on-chain capacity increases are necessary. When that happens,
we hope the community will come together and find a solution, possibly with
a blocksize increase. Until then, we are suspending our plans for the
upcoming 2MB upgrade.

We want to thank everyone that contributed constructively to Segwit2x,
whether you were in favor or against. Your efforts are what makes Bitcoin
great. Bitcoin remains the greatest form of money mankind has ever seen,
and we remain dedicated to protecting and fostering its growth worldwide.

427  Economy / Speculation / Re: I BUY GOLD OR BITCOIN? on: November 09, 2017, 02:52:08 AM
Hi guys, I've been in the world of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies for some time, some relatives and friends ask me to buy gold or bitcoin to save, and I answer:

1. If you want to be safe without worrying about buying gold, because its price is very stable, at 1200 dollars an ounce.

2. If you want to invest in bitcoin I invite you to investigate what technology is about, I tell you that it is a new technology that will revolutionize the world, it is decentralized, distributed, without control of any kind of government, its quantity is limited. that allows it to be deflamatory, with the passage of time it takes more value, but it is your RESPONSIBILITY if you make the investment in bitcoin, I only tell you the advantages but it is up to you to investigate the subject.

WHAT WOULD YOU RESPOND?

With the recent price of bitcoin,  i will go for bitcoin even if it is expensive i will choose to buy bitcoin because of the great tendency that it will probably growing unlike with gold the price increase is very slow.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now a MILLIONAIRE because of NEO. on: November 08, 2017, 03:32:56 AM
I bought in early, and kept dollar-cost-averaging along the way. I now around 35,000 NEO which are generating me about .5 GAS per hour. With NEO, and the GAS making me free money 24hrs/day, I can essentially quit my job now, as income from GAS alone could pay my bills in my Country. Cool

Good job, good for you. You are so lucky. I am dreaming to experience that as well.

A beginner's guide to bitcoin

http://www.coindesk.com/information/

 Bitcoin is Freedom
 ---------------------

Bitcoin is Freedom from oppression, exploitation & tyranny by Banksters.

From cradle to grave we have all been financial debt slaves through the debt based fiat currency schemes that should have long ago been outlawed.

Bitcoin offers People an avenue of Safe Haven that assures a fiscally disciplined currency.

Bitcoin is vastly superior to traditional fiat currency schemes.

Bitcoin brings all Peoples Freedom by forcing Decentralized Monetary Competition, and by doing that it will eventually force governments to become fiscally disciplined with their monetary matters, or suffer monetary failures repeatedly until they do.

Bitcoin will ultimately free governments from their Bankster Masters (each countries Central Bank) when governments finally re-learn to print and issue their own debt-free currencies, while abolishing their existing Central Banks powers and controls over them. This will hopefully occur as the present system fails and governments finally realize they hold all the cards, not the Banksters.

So simply put:

 Bitcoin is Freedom
 ---------------------

Smiley

Bitcoin is freedo, yes, bitcoin is decentralized, uncontrollable by anyone, we are now have our freedom to choose what we wanted to eat or wear because we are earning thru bitcoin.
430  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: November 08, 2017, 03:18:09 AM
Yes, our world really needs a virtual currencies. This is more useful than the usual currency tha we are using. Bitcoin and some altcoins are very useful.
431  Economy / Economics / Re: Where will BTC be 10 years from now? on: November 08, 2017, 03:13:21 AM
10 years ago Forbes magazine was prasing Nokia boss for it´s billion customers.
Now where is Nokia? maybe some 18y/o guy who trades BTC doesn´t even know what Nokia is...
So will BTC be anywhere 10 years from now? or would it have been replaced for something better and more inovative?

Forbes cover:
https://imgur.com/a/A2Bqr

Nokia is a cellular phone brand that is being used by everyone before but due to some trend that they did not follow they are out in the market. Bitcoin is very different from nokia, bitcoin is not a cellular phone that needs an update all the time. Bitcoin only needs a supporter or investor, internet as well.
432  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the government know bitcoin in your country? on: November 08, 2017, 03:07:26 AM
I think they will ban bitcoin because of the fearful that may affect of the economics of my country but i disagree there opinion because working bitcoin is very helpful for me especially the support financial.

I think, It depend on the government's perspective or point of view toward bitcoin. If they find it good, then good news for us, if not, let's face the reality.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can ETH match the BTC? on: November 08, 2017, 02:58:53 AM
I'm in this crypto world about two months, I've been observing the power of ETH!

They are not the same. Bitcoin is really the best but ethereum has it's own qualities or purpose too that makes it important in the digital world.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOT Altcoins Trade Ideas on: November 08, 2017, 02:54:53 AM

Woow! Really great. Thanks for sharing this kind of idea with us. I haven't seen this before. This will surely add some knowledge for me. Looking forward for more ideas from you. Thanks a lot.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: November 08, 2017, 02:36:14 AM
Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.

Until now a lot of people don't reconize bitcoin. They doesn't know what is it. They are telling me that bitcoin is gambling and they are telling me that there are some news that they heard about it because of that they don't believe me anymore.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting porn sites to accept bitcoin on: November 08, 2017, 02:32:03 AM
Ok guys. It's time to inform porn industry that we want to pay in Bitcoins. You have any ideas on how to do it? Bitcoin is perfect payment method for p0rn - anonymous and very fast. And they don't care about fluctiation because they profit anyway.
If some major sites will start accepting bitcoins, there will be huge demand for Bitcoins  Cheesy  What do you think?

They will definitely get a profit because of that but i don't actually support that kind of idea. There are lots of businesses for today, if you want to advertise  btc then offer it to other sector not only in porn sites. Shocked
437  Economy / Economics / Re: When to buy and sell bitcoin on: November 07, 2017, 03:12:02 AM
When is the best time to buy bitcoin and when do you think is the best time to sell?
I think its a great time to buy now but when is a good time to sell (if you have any idea please share)

When the price of bitcoin drops it is the right time to buy and when the price of bitcoin increases, it is the best time to sell. That is the basic actions in trading.
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins are dying on: November 07, 2017, 03:04:30 AM
Altcoins are dying and some will be dead. Bitcoin murdered them and now I want to murder my self.

Well, if you murder yourself, you will die and won't be able to see altcoins recovered from price dumping. There is no death except to altcoins that are shitcoins from the start and to those very emotional investors that would like to kill themselves at the first sight of very temporary dumping.  Wink

Lol! That is true, you will never see how altcoins recovered from the price drop.  Grin

When i started in trading, i am very emotional to the point that i wanted to throw away my cellphone because i feel so useless, because i do some mistakes and lost my money. But that was before, i am learning now how to hold my investment.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utrust is a scam? on: November 07, 2017, 02:54:16 AM
They wrote that it is a scam?Huh??
This not be true!

Look!

https://coinanalysis.io/utrust/

Sorry for my english Sad

A numerous issues about scam ICO are spreading in this forum but it doesn't mean that all are true. Like this one, if the ICO become successful there are some issues that started to come out and stating that it was a scam. I don't believe that UTRUST is a scam.
