I would love to see more support for these, or at least namecoin!
Me too

are out there in the world! and a small fraction is seen moving around on exchanges ? what does this mean ? the rest is being hoarded ?
Bitcoins are a bubble and once everyone finds out, it will burst. It hasn't got an economy to support it, there is no thing like a "Bitcoin economy". There are some obscure shops that accept Bitcoins but nobody knows if they ever sold anything. I said before, on other forums, that the price will drop and so it did. And it will keep on dropping until it reaches zero, everyone stops and difficulty gets stuck forever. Bitcoin just doesn't work. A digital wallet? Explain that to your mother. How do you obtain them? How do you pay with them? It's way to complicated for anyone without "nerd alert" written al over him. Wallets will get lost, people will loose money and in the end there will be no Bitcoin left. Deflation makes people hoard them but without anyone who wants them, they might as well hoard seashells. Read this carefully, you'll think of me when it all happens.

My argument was never that SolidCoin is better/worse than Bitcoin.
My argument is that CoinHunter is a lying piece of shit.
If we take CoinHunter at his word, that means out of 10,000 SC users, about 5-10 users control over 50% of the market.
And then he counters this ridiculousness by saying that he's "only interested in a global currency that works" and "helping others in need." SolidCoin might work, but it's 1.) Hardly original and 2.) created by a douchebag who deserves a kick to the larynx.
All I want is for CoinHunter to admit to everyone he made this thing to get rich and that's it. I have no problem with that. Satoshi did it too, and now CoinHunter did it. But don't try to come off as some virtuous motherfucker when we know you're not one in this context.
Do you have SolidCoins? What is your drive to post here? Try to destroy it before it's too much competition for Bitcoin? Did you even read the words you used before pressing "post"? Do they have to be that offensive? Bitcoin hardliners are getting rude nowadays...

Ok, I will change it. Though it looks like I did just solve one.
The server only has 1 card in it, and then I have another computer with 2 cards that are connecting. Does that cause any problems that they are all using the same username and password?
Why do you want to ditch me?

What's your goal? You act childish.
Just live and let live...

What port do I open on my router for i0coin?
Wasn't there a "how to" in one of the recent threads?
To do what?

Just found 3 blocks on my HD5770; one after 2 hours, one after 11 minutes and one after 25 minutes

I was wondering how would one start solo mining ?
Put the following line in a batch file (or use the settings for guiminer): start /D "C:\poclbm" poclbm.exe user:password@127.0.0.1:7332 -d0 -v -f 0 -w 256 (where 127.0.0.1 should be changed to the IP where the client runs) Also put a i0coin.conf in: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\I0coin The i0coin.conf should look like this: rpcuser=user rpcpassword=password server=1 rpcallowip=192.168.0.*
The line with "rcpallowip" is the IP range (or seperate IP's) you want to allow to connect to your rig. Don't forget the line, or it will only accept mining on localhost. Then (re-)start the i0client and point your miner to it I found a block with my 5770 after 2 hours and now the second after 11 minutes. I have 2950Mhash/s pointed at the pool but wanted to use my 5770 for solo mining Just for fun...

How does difficulty adjust in this new release?
Ehm, I think max 10% up every 144 blocks or x hours and max 75% down every 144 blocks or x hours. Not sure...

I think it would add some competition between Bitcoin and the new currencies. People are trying start new blockchains with improvements (or at least changes ) and new features. To keep up, Bitcoin has to be improved and that's the strenght of competition, I think. If Samsung, Apple and the others didn't have competition, the iPad (or any other pad) would look like a brick with a shiny piece of glass glued to it.

Definetly YES because this will help all of us... If this happen nobody need to do Name/Solid/IX Coin->BTC->$/Eur etc...
I voted no because we need to focus on getting Bitcoin accepted as a legitimate currency among vendors. The last thing we need is the market flooded with "alt" currencies and make it even more confusing for mainstream vendors to pick which one to adopt. Or worse yet, force them into adopting multiple different currencies. I don't think it's confusing. People know the difference between "Dollars", "Euro's" and "Svenska Kronor"

Now, do we bother with merged mining?
I think it's a smart way to introduce i0coin to the Bitcoin community. Why? If 1 or 2 pools start merged mining, I will go to those pools because of the bonus of extra income. If I go to those pools, other pools will have to implement merged mining to keep up and don't lose miners. More people = more speculators = higher value But there may be reasons not to?

Edit: I sent you the 200 i0coins, Fusebox. I'll send another 200 to ArtForz as soon as he sends me an i0coin address.
Just wanted to say thanks. I want to thank both of you for repairing the i0coin

I installed the new Windows client but it's still showing a difficulty of like 16K or so. And Help->About still says 0.3.25beta IIRC (I'm at work now, so I'm going by memory). Am I still running the old version?
What version # does "help -> about" show?

I don't think ArtForz needs any more I0coins I just sent them anyway

Misleading title is misleading.
I got your attention, didn't I That and my hopes up. If we have enough votes (to be taken seriously), I'm going to send a link of this topic to TradeHill, MtGox and any major exchange available. Didn't want to mislead anyone but I think: I you read the topic title and your heartbeat goes up, you should vote "yes". If it doesn't, vote "no". If your heartbeat stopped, I hope someone is around who knows how to administer CPR or to call 911 (or 112)...
