4201  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] MarginBot - A Bitfinex Margin Lending Management Bot on: April 17, 2015, 11:15:30 AM
HowardF... can you take out the functioninality that when you change the USD-Values that with every key entered the number is redrawn and the cursor set at the last place? It makes it hard to change anything especially substantially changes.

I use an open source money formatter script that causes this.  I'll look into making it optional.

And it might make sense, if different swap offers created have the same percentage, to merge those offers into one offer. This way the fragmentation of offers could be lowered. They are in the same place anyway with the same percent.

This wouldn't effect the fragmentation significantly to be honest, since most small amounts will all get taken as one loan, and returned at the same time to go back into the loan queue.  Besides, fragmentation is a good thing.  it keeps loans always coming due, which keeps money always going back out on loan, which is how this bot manages to always take advantage of suddent rate spikes. I've generally got anywhere between 200 - 400 loans out on my account, which means I'm always able to catch even 5 or 10 minute long spikes with at least a little loan.

Youre right with the fragmentation but often i see open swap offers that are offered at the exact same rate. Since they are added at the same moment they will most probably will taken in the same moment. But they will still show up as two even though they are the same rate and time. And they will end at the same time too.

Only thought it might be a bit easier to read though its not as important.

Regarding not swapped out USD. You might count them like Dollar-Minutes. Each amount of USD not lend out for some minutes will add to that account. Then one might be able to adjust the settings and lower that amount by checking the performance at the same time.

I think it would be a great tool to maximize profits.

4203  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 17, 2015, 10:23:30 AM
Had the same thing some days ago. It's a bug most likely caused by daylight saving times. I've posted about it here within the last 14 days.

It's actually -9 minutes what you're seeing (but displayed as +9) and counting to -60. I'm 99% sure that you'll have the money back in 51 minutes (counted from your 9 minutes)

I've seen the same thing at various times, but with no apparent connection to daylight savings and not as neat as exactly an hour.

It's the same display bug where negative numbers display as positive, but I'm pretty sure it can also happen in the space of time between when the swap was (strictly speaking) supposed to end, and when a scheduled "update/check all the swaps" batch job runs to actually close it.

Didnt explain someone in here before that this has to do with bitfinex running a cron-job only each hour? This job then checks if a swap ended and closes it.

If its handled that way then i think its not good. I cant even see how they will calculate it in a fair way if your swap is hold longer than both parties thought.
4204  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 796.com no support? on: April 17, 2015, 10:15:38 AM
I had to reset my phone and lost access to my 2factor authentication so I can't login. I opened a ticket with support about 4 or 5 days ago, still no answer and I have an open trade atm wtf???

Okcoin is better imho. I tested bitfinex before but their fees make it practically impossible to make profits on short term.

796 is better there but there are too few trades happening. And the missing support is a risk i dont want to take.

Now im at okcoin and if they wouldnt be down now, i wouldnt have to say any bad things about them. They have support, quite responsive. I like that.
4205  Economy / Services / Re: DA DICE Signature Campaign - 'Da' BEST Yet | HIGHEST RATES! | JOIN THE FUN! on: April 15, 2015, 01:49:09 PM
Thanks for the payment and bonus. I think the new bonus system is a good thing to dadice because more people have a chance for it and they can rise if they want. Top 3 might have users give up because the chance to get one practically isnt there.

I wonder if an effect can be observed out of it.
4206  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so hard to fire people? stupidity or insanity. United Shit of America on: April 15, 2015, 12:53:04 PM
Depends on where you are at. In my state, you can be fired at any time and for any reason. I could be fired because my boss doesn't like my ethnicity/religion/etc, and they could just walk up to me, say I'm fired and I'd be gone. They can also skip the 1-2 week notice by continuing to pay you for that time.

Since the democrats started to make the USA more and more like socialist Europe, you recognize the same aftertaste of natural fertilizer down your throat...

On that point I'll have to agree

 Smiley

Maybe i understand you wrong but in most european countries you cant be fired because of such things.

4208  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 15, 2015, 12:37:49 PM
Taking control of the account first is a risk that should be avoided, any good escrow will know this.

Um... why is that? At the end it would be the most secure way to do it.

An escrow could simply let buyer and seller make their rules and point out risks. If the seller is fine with showing the account to the buyer then its up to them. The escrow only gives additional security if wished.

If the buyer wants to be more sure then the seller could give the link to the profile and put some text in it so the escrow knows he controls it. That would prevent giving some fake profile link.

Though the most secure way would to give the login details and change it to temporary ones. Of course the escrow then needs to check if there are ways to gain access again. For example through email. This has to be changed too of course.

If the seller fears he can find out if the pass is changed then the escrow only changes the password after the coins came in. Though those things have to be cleared beforehand. Trade starts only after buyer, seller and escrow agree on terms. Which means terms have to be on the table first.

At the end the escrow holds both items and he KNOWS that the trade will be secure.

May I ask why you didn't want to fund the escrow first? It was impossible for the seller to get your coins if the account wasn't real, you would have safely received the BTC back.

Because I don't know quickseller's policies and how he handles such situations. I wouldn't want my money stuck with him for too long. It's happened before with other trusted escrowers. And to be honest, as we speak a large chunk of my bitcoins is sitting with an escrower of this forum because a seller hasn't been online for some days.

Um... is that your reason you stopped? Because you suddenly feared that your coins might be stuck too long? If true then this sounds very weak for an explaination.

And as long as you dont speak with escrow and seller that you need everything be done fast, you will have waiting times with practically every escrow. Thats part of the deal for getting security or you speak about that point beforehand. But not when everything is already running. That doesnt sound like a valid reason to be honest.

The trust system's main function is to prevent scams from happening, not to punish them.

Um... im happy you are no judge as profession. I mean the defendant doesnt want to speak... he must be guilty. I really dont think it makes sense to leave the trust system for people that decide someone might scam. Who are they to judge before anything happened? If i would have done so i would have marked many persons red and i dont know of anyone who actually scammed later.

Trust system protects against scammers who clearly offer things everyone can see are scam attempts. But going out of a deal is not enough to justify knowing he is a scammer. Quickseller not even claimed that. But the red color says he is now. I think only a handful would check where the red actually came from.

Even if someone has negative trust, it doesn't mean that people will pay attention to it. I made the mistake of giving every ponzi negative trust during the last ponzi craze and as a result the ponzi operators were able to distract questions about why they should be trusted with others' money (in large amounts) which resulted in the ponzi operators being able to scam for more.

I disagree. Seeing a red trust lets me leave fast since im very sure that established members checked things and found he is not trustworthy. Thats something i cant see for worhipper.

And you negrepped ponzi persons and they found more persons to be scammed because of that? I cant believe that and everyone who invested then deserves being scammed.
4209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Explorer with Euro Values? on: April 15, 2015, 11:35:19 AM
I would recommend http://btc.blockr.io/ it shows both values in dollars or euro.

Where can i change the currency shown? So far the website looks interesting because i need something like a stat showing the incoming money.

https://blockchain.info can show both as well.

Blockchain.info, like i wrote, shows all other addresses in transactions too. It becomes confusing. I liked blockchain.info more before they starting plastering the whole site with addresses i dont care about. At least it would be good if they could be switched away.
4210  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: April 15, 2015, 11:16:03 AM
The error message from C++ Runtime Library still exists in electrum 2.0.4.

R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.

This happened with 2.0.3 too. The error message shows up every time i start an electrum wallet.
4211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Explorer with Euro Values? on: April 14, 2015, 08:10:21 PM
Is there a Bitcoin Block Explorer that can show the income to an address in €-Value of the time of receiving? Blockchain.info does provide this though they show many useless informations too, like all the other addresses that received coins too. And you cant filter by time.

Ideally it would show the time and date of receiving, the value in Euro, and no other informations like other addresses receiving in the same transaction. And only a certain timeframe.

Anything like that?
4212  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so hard to fire people? stupidity or insanity. United Shit of America on: April 13, 2015, 07:35:42 PM
America is really far away of being a democracy. As a citizen having the right to decide one thing in a long time and the rest of the time you delegate your power. And the one choice you have is one between A and B practically. Which at the end is something like a choice between pest and cholera.

At the end you have really something different than a demo-cracy which means ruling of the citizens in fact. And that, lets be honest, cant be further from the truth.

4214  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: April 13, 2015, 04:52:39 PM
I would like to see a okcoin USD market chart. okcoin isnt only okcoin.cn, its okcoin.com too and they have USD-prices.

It would be good to see the real USD price since the biggest exchanges otherwise are in CNY and it would help to see another big exchange priced in USD.
4215  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 13, 2015, 04:14:21 PM
In defence of Quickseller, its sometimes needed to change the rules in order to not get in risks as the escrow. Because you never know if buyer and seller are actually the same person and this person tries to scam you. Though those all are things cleared before the trade actually starts.

At the end i will explain risks to the party at risk and if its fine for him/her then i proceed with the way they want.

Saying that... i would not give a negative trust if buyer and seller had an agreement and not all rules were on the table. I would neg rep when a deal is broken between buyer and seller. Not if they want to use another escrow only for example. (I would take out the part in your template about neg repping everyone who steps out a bit. This sounds like a threat and a risk one cant overview.)

personnaly I wonder if they will show again or if they ran away with our BTC ...

They did not run. I can tell you so much. Though im not sure when we get the next payment exactly.

So far im very sure this isnt dead.

Good news Cheesy I'll wait and see

Yes, i guess. Wink But i think shareholders really should think about moving the security because iam, personally, would see a risk putting div coins to cryptostocks as long as the owner isnt responding.

So what are shareholders thoughts about this topic?

At this point I don't care. How do you know that this isn't dead?

You are in this thread... so i think you care at least a little bit. Wink

I dont want to go into detail about why im sure because i wouldnt like to risk anything but if you get a collected dividend then you might want to have this div being safe. So thinking about a safe exchange is worth it in my opinion.

When i write this... im very sure but knowing is a big word. So just in case im wrong i now will claim that i dont KNOW. I dont have influence in this and i know what happened to those who were fans of projects that went bad. I dont want to be one of those. So just in case, dont take my word for an advice. I dont KNOW it. But i have reasons to be sure.
4218  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Does the wash sale rule apply to btc? on: April 12, 2015, 06:25:21 PM
You dont want to play on this topic. If the amount it big enough that you can be concerned then you really should contact a tax lawyer or similar. There are one for bitcoin in every developed country nowadays.

Ask in specialized forums too. Its always better to have different opinions because it happens that you get the wrong advice too unfortunately.

4220  Economy / Service Discussion / Cryptostocks - kumala, anyone has a way to contact him besides email and pm? on: April 10, 2015, 05:01:07 PM
