Ordered 3 copies.

Hope to see the first one in the mail very soon!

Don't hold your breath. I ordered some copies as well, but I'm not expecting them until the middle of march.

Harray! Sanity! ^_^

Edit: We've got the general process down to 2 weeks automated now. This first issue has just been nuts.

Is there any chance to make international shipping cheaper? At current price levels I am hesitating between 1 and 3 printed&digital issues, if I like it I'll probably continue to buy only the digital issue unless the price decreses by ~30-40%. I think you could set different prices for different markets, average wages in Europe can be as low as ca. $150-250 a month (some ex-USSR countries) or $6000 in Norway.

Can you estimate how long will it take to ship the magazine to central europe (EU)?
And what's the surprise gift / how much is it worth?  Smiley

From around 2.5 ghash to almost 3. woot.

Wink
You might get some more mhash/s by increasing VRAM clock to 300-350MHz, but it shouldn't be more than ~2-4MHash/s per card also increasing temp by ~1.5-2 more degrees (that was my case).

plus I just looked at my electric bill and my rate is $0.06113468/kwh so my electricity costs aren't too bad, I need to get a kill-a-watt and figure out my expenses.

BTW, anybody looking for a place to run their rig? You cover your electric costs and throw me some profit Wink

Check if this is the total cost of you electricity (does it include taxes, delivery and other fees).

These are 5870s? Shouldn't you be getting ~415-425MHash/s with these clocks?

EDIT: now I see, it is because of 160MHz VRAM clocks. Raise them to 260MHz to get ~70MHash/s more.
4206  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Radeon 5850 stuck at 75-80% on: February 21, 2012, 09:41:41 PM

I just checked using 'top' and I'm running @ 50% on one core.  seems to be the core with the 5850 on it.  What is eating it? o.o

Yeah you can use top, or pidstat or mpstat or iostat (not sure if you won't need sysstat installed, if so: apt-get install sysstat)
htop is convenient also to see cpu usage on each core (apt-get install htop)

50% is not normal btw, I get ~5-10% with same number of GPUs (2x 5870, 1x 5830) on an underclocked and undervolted E4300.

Is your BAMT up to date, did you do any modications to it? Have you got any other motherboards to try it? What is the CPU? Did you try to put the cards in different slots?

Also for his ID,when I did a query on his IRC on solidcointalk.org,it revealed that his real name is 'linus travolds' (so it claims),then a web address that reveals its origins from germany (could just be a proxy, who knows). That was a few days ago so it could have changed.Try a WHIOS or Query on RS's name in his IRC channel and you'll see.

Sounds like Linus Torvalds...

So, I just got a 5850 and I'm running it on bamt with my other 5970.  Oddly enough, it won't hit 100% load.  I've tried running it without the 5970 in the board, and it does the same thing.  Psu is 750w corsair and runs perfectly fine.  Any ideas?

What's the cpu usage while mining?
Try increasing the aggression level.

Hi,

I'm trying to overvolt a reference 5970 in BAMT, but cannot get it to work.
I have tired every possible variation in bamt.conf I can think of, but nothing seems to work.
Using atitweak I can get the card to undervolt, but overvolting just seems impossible...
Is there some sort of built in lock that stops setting vcore higher than 1.05?

I don't believe there is any linux tool (not just limitation of BAMT) which enables overvolting.

There is RadeonVolt but it doesn't work with 5900 series.  If you want to overvolt in Linux you are looking at a custom BIOS flash.

I wonder how (or if) windows tools which allow overvolting would work under wine.

Ebay can be cheap but careful to buy quality risers (there was a thread once with bad quality risers that burned), alternatively, a bit more expensive but still VERY cheap
9mart.com - 2 risers for $9, so $4.5 each with international shipping.

Nobody's mentioned Chile, where Tradehill is based. There's also Cook Islands, Estonia, and Poland.

Poland? Can you elaborate?

Thanks, fixed the link.

Welcome back.
Can you tell if the newest version properly counts shares and stales?

4 x 5970's on pci 16 extenders
1250 watt seasonic 80 plus gold
25A at 3.3V? forget it! Buy a reasonable PSU.
you need something like 400A at 3.3V
Keep in mind: There are some more parts living on 3.3V than just your gpus.

u drunk?

How about DDR500 CL3-4-4-8?

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/ddr500_8.html#sect0

I have 2x256MB if you're interested, used them with P4's in the past.

Max,

Few questions.... I have 3 5970 on 1 rig running bamt. It mines normally, however, the system is very slow. ( mouse drags.....etc)

are you going through he same thing? Is it normal?

I have them over clocked at 820 with mem 500. Aggression is 13

What is your settings?

It's normal, especially if you cpu usage and/or agression level is high.

how to gpu? I only get a vanitygen executable?

In vanitygen-017-win folder there's vanitygen, vanitygen64 and oclvanitygen. Use the last one to use GPU. If you want to use more than 1 GPU then you will have to run a separate instance of oclvanitygen for each (at least I found no other way).
