Oddsmaker does not choose which team will win, so saying they could be right or wrong does not make sense. We, the bettors are the ones who will decide, so we are the ones who will make a right or wrong decision. Also, we have to understand that oddsmaker could move the line to make a balance action, as their main intention is to make the sportsbook profitable from juice coming from the winning bets.

I didn't say that oddsmakers choose which team will win, but I said that they set the point spreads. They do, however, calculate and predict the winner of the matches, therefore determining the favorites.

I got an email from roobet but it's weird they use a different text
I also checked the email address so sure it was an official email , is this normal?

Yes, the email appears to be genuine. I saw a similar tweet on their official Twitter page:

4205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: May 07, 2021, 08:33:27 PM
Final Manchester United vs Villareal.

Now I think Manchester United are the team that will seal the title, what do you think?

Interestingly, they've faced off against each other four times in the UEFA Champions League group stage and no team has managed to score a goal yet. I think, this time, if United performs in their best possible form, they should win the game, probably by a couple of goals. But anything can happen in a final. United appear to be the stronger team, but Unai Emery is a seasoned veteran when it comes to the Europa League Finals.
4206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: May 07, 2021, 07:56:15 PM
I foresee like bitcoin will value in millions hence people will afraid to spend it which will make all other altcoins to replace bitcoins in gambling industry completely. People will rarely spend bitcoins which might not include gambling as well.

No real argument there. A bitcoin can be divided down to eight decimal places. There are casinos that even nowadays display your balance in a millibit or a microbit denominations.
So we can go all the way to satoshis and even beyond the satoshi because platforms can add decimal places in their internal calculations.
4207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best Sport to bet on ? on: May 07, 2021, 07:29:50 PM
Why should this work differently in sports betting where the outcome is random (albeit predictable) and the bookmaker has the same advantage as the casino?

Yeah, the average sports bettor, just like the average casino gambler, faces a mathematical disadvantage. Unlike casino games, the outcome in sports matches is not entirely random. With that in mind, even though the oddsmakers are very good at setting point spreads, they are not always right. These facts give an advantage to experienced gamblers in sports betting.

4211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers steal Ethereum, who is hurt? on: May 07, 2021, 04:24:01 PM
A recent post on reddit.com sounds about a request to check wallets, as hackers have withdrawn more than $1.1 million in Ethereum over the past 48 hours.
<cut>

Wow! That's a whole lot of ETH!

Based on etherscan, I noticed that the hacker started moving coins today, and some of his transactions are linked to the HitBTC exchange. Maybe some of the victims should contact their support to freeze funds if that is still possible.
4212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any other webiste or other platforms that pay you crypto? on: May 07, 2021, 04:11:14 PM

If you do a simple Google search by entering the keyword "how to earn online?", you will find a lot of articles suggesting different ways to earn money.

This is probably the most popular request these days, but I doubt it will be very easy to find a job. These will be pennies, which are not worth spending time earning.
I know that today you can also make money on GPT questionnaire sites that pay with cryptocurrency. https://free-bitcoin-sites.com/bitcoin-gpt-sites/
Try to search for the request: gpt sites pay bitcoin
But still, if you do not have good knowledge, it is very difficult to find a decent income for yourself on the Internet. Try to gain knowledge, thereby increasing your relevance.

In my humble experience and the reviews I have read, GPT sites, in general, aren't worth the time for anyone outside of the USA unless they are truly desperate for even $1 and can dedicate hours of their time. Most of them either don't service the areas or have very few offers.

Or perhaps I didn't come across any good ones. It would be nice if there was a comparison list of good GPT sites somewhere, but I couldn’t find it.
4213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Football clubs and bitcoins on: May 07, 2021, 12:42:07 PM
The phenomenon of the use of Bitcoin in football has actually been going on for several years.
According to my knowledge Bitcoin began to touch in the world of football in the range of 2018. The profit in the use of Bitcoin is to reduce the practice of corruption in the world of football.

Yes, I think you're right. In 2018, the cryptocurrency venture Quatocoin reportedly purchased a 25% stake in the Italian club Rimini FC 1912 using the cryptocurrency.
This is the first time a cryptocurrency was used in professional football, as far as I know.

4216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Metromile plans to adopt Bitcoin on: May 07, 2021, 11:20:55 AM
^ I don’t think Metromile was the first one who adopted Bitcoin. Honestly, accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment method does not mean that they had adopted cryptocurrency. They just know that Bitcoin can easily be liquidated though it is somehow volatile. I would consider a company to adopt BTC if they have programs that BCT or Cryptocurrency is the reward such as publishing their own coins. But accepting it as a payment method does not count for me.

I'm not sure. Based on what I can read, Metromile is doing exactly what cryptocurrency adoption implies. They have stated that they intend to accept premiums and pay claims in cryptocurrency. This implies that they will have to maintain liquidity in cryptocurrency at least to some extent.

I say that is exactly Bitcoin's real purpose, to be used as a currency.

"promote financial resilience” for its customers.
I like this quote.

Now that they've seen the potential of cryptocurrencies and mainly, bitcoin. They have come to realize how powerful it is in these difficult times. It's not just about being resilient during this pandemic.

I agree. That is what Satoshi would say. Wink
4217  Other / Off-topic / Re: House Cleaning Robots Change Your Life on: May 07, 2021, 10:08:14 AM
I would prefer to clean my space by myself. Only that is the way to know that the place is 100% clean.
Hiring someone will cost a lot to do it weekly. Plus you will have to be at the place, or trust this person for 200%. And even a pro housemaid can leave a corner unclean or miss some spot. Robots are also something hard to trust. I have one. Sometimes it cleans till its battery is dead, sometimes it gets stuck under the sofa just after I close the door and go to job.

I'm a bit of a gadget geek, but my Roomba is perfect for me. It is set to run whenever there is no one in the house and it returns to its base on its own. I love that I can set it to clean while I'm at work and the kids are in school. No need to pay a cleaning service. I only have to empty the dirt bin on a regular basis.
4218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feel Pressed Something while Gambling on: May 07, 2021, 08:34:46 AM
Hahaha very funny. I must say that's one of the worse experience one can have. Too bad it was caught on camera, our friend will have to switch casinos and never return to the hall of shame. I wonder how much he had lost to crank him up so hard....Zilion created a topic sometime ago something about "don't loose the fun" when gambling. I think that's how it should be

This example illustrates how gambling addiction negatively affects one's life. That guy has something seriously wrong with his head.  Wink

Casual gambling for entertainment and fun is probably okay, but if it starts to affect your life too much and becomes addiction, you should definitely seek professional help.

Wait so USDT is on TRC20? If it's on the Tron network then USDT would be the cheapest right?

Yes, Tether (USDT) is a multi-chain token available on multiple networks (blockchains). Tether has been issued on the Omni, Ethereum, Tron, EOS, Liquid, Solana and Algorand blockchains (and maybe on some others I don't know).

The first tokens were issued on the Bitcoin blockchain by using the Omni Layer Protocol.
USDT-ERC20 is the USDT based on the ERC20 protocol with deposits and withdrawals taking place on the ETH network.
Similarly, USDT-TRON (TRC20) is the USDT based on the TRC20 protocol. The currency deposit address is the TRON address, with deposits and withdrawals taking place on the TRON network.
reference: https://community.trustwallet.com/t/tether-usdt-trc20-vs-erc20/61950

Likewise, there is also the USDT on EOS, Solana, Algorand and Liquid, yet the most used are ERC20 and TRC20.
Just make sure both the sender and the receiver support the selected protocol, and that the deposit address is correct.
