4201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money on: December 04, 2020, 02:33:12 AM
Sats are a thing. People would simply buy it in smaller amounts, Bitcoin could be measured into smaller numbers so instead of 1, you can simply use it as 0.01, 0.001, etc etc. Simply as that. Besides, we can't completely just replace Fiat with Bitcoin, it just isn't logical imo. It isn't like Bitcoin is supposed to be the number one used, it's a currency, I don't think it's supposed to be a competition between the two. They can live side by side, especially since some people would most likely keep on using Fiat. It could also mean that Bitcoin itself has become a value that has exceeded fiat, and can be used as such. It isn't like fiat is the only asset that could be used to transact with Bitcoin, when it itself is a currency. It can be used for transactions with land, businesses, corporations, deals, etc.
4202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy 5 coins and wait till each of them grows 10%, then sell on: December 03, 2020, 10:06:09 AM
If one of them didn't after a long time, the other 4 should compensate for the loss.
And what if let's say the compensation amount wasn't enough? Like, 2 or 3 coins didn't go up above 10 in a long time, and the others barely went up 10 at that time, what would you do? Numbers are easy to write ngl, its easy to analyze, choosing what coins to put those numbers is the challenge. It's not enough to know the numbers, any one with a bit of knowledge would know that trading is to buy low sell high. The problem is in knowing "what" to buy low and sell high. Not everything goes according to plan, and im pretty sure every trader out there experience profits and losses always.
4203  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is a Massively Underrated Opportunity in Today’s Macroeconomy on: December 03, 2020, 07:32:07 AM
It really isn't underrated tbh, just that majority don't know of it, or know of it as a scam, and those that actually know, are quite frank, scared of what would happen if the bubble of 2017 happened again if they tried to invest. A lot of people were hit by that tbh, they tried to join in on the crypto train, only to discover that it would drop off to depressing levels, investors losing quite a huge amount depending on the amount of investment they made.

But really, instead of that wall of text and images, just post the growth levels of the Bitcoin market. It'd be a lot better as persuasive evidence for newbies than graphs of a lot of stuff related to finance, which they don't probably even know about.
4204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blackjack card counting at live table games? on: December 03, 2020, 02:36:14 AM
They not only use 8 decks, they also shuffle it after a certain period/rounds to guarantee card counting isn't done. Additionally, I suppose the casino themselves have some sort of detection software or something they designed themselves that reacts when a certain player acts suspicious. The casino themselves may not present hard/solid proof, but you and I and casinos know that any player doing card counting would and almost always will perform certain actions that are quite obvious. Plus, the player can't exactly do anything if the casino themselves decide if the player is card counting, they can just kick them out either way.

Just remember that in almost any type of gambling game in casinos, they always have preventive measures for any type of loophole that's already appeared once. They don't really want to risk any probability of loss due to a loophole after all.
4205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reminder - High Bitcoin price = Higher than normal scam & hack activities! on: December 03, 2020, 01:00:58 AM
Well even without the scam and hack activities excessive greed could basically lead to people making stupid decisions in trading, which may bring about huge losses for them. There's only one true counter here really, well, if an exchange was to get hacked while you were in the middle of trading, that's outside of it though.  Just avoid talking to anyone. Visit sites you only visit normally for trading and for crypto news, stop opening new sites, random links, talking to people, etc.
I don't condone scamming, but newbies who throw money into crypto without a shred of research into credible vendors, and consider their means of storage are usually the ones to fall first when it comes to scams, especially the social engineering type.
I'm pretty sure almost anyone who enters a new scene is like a rabbit entering a wolf's den before actually meeting their fellow rabbit members. Sad to say that crypto isn't the community like that, but due to the huge amount of people who have money and could invest compared to other communities, it's more prominent here.

4206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blocked funds in a poker room on: December 02, 2020, 12:14:57 PM
We can't clearly make any notable decisions other than contact customer support if we can't know who or what poker room you exactly had your issues with. Not that I've never had any experience with a poker room though. If you don't want to disclose it here cause of some reason, try asking it out in reddit and publicly disclose the site so more people could help you. You can also avoid the specific numbers so those that refuse to give you back your funds won't trace the origin of the complaint to you, making it quite safe imo.
4207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pizza Hut accepts bitcoin on: December 02, 2020, 09:43:31 AM
Well, I guess this is a start. It isn't odd that restaurants that cater more for deliveries are the ones that are first implementing this since Bitcoin is for cashless transactions. I guess this opens up the crypto industry towards other restaurants, and hey, maybe other official businesses as well ranging from technology, clothing, etc. I just hope that it isn't going to be restricted by countries from now on, since that would be hugely detrimental to it actually developing worldwide.

Oh and on another note, glad to see news about Bitcoin being seen as a "currency" instead of an "investment" after quite some time.
4208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🛑 Aren't you doing this Mistake too?🛑 When Bitcoin is Payment System ✅ on: December 02, 2020, 07:50:14 AM
Erm, converting from BTC payments to USD payments instantly is one possible idea. Additionally, it isn't like BTCwould become the sole payment method, it's only one payment method possible. I myself am not really asking for BTC to become the sole payment method, an alternative would be nice, especially with overseas purchases.
I don't get why it makes more sense to earn in USD and then purchase BTC rather than just accept BTC directly instead. If you want to take the risk of owning Bitcoin, it doesn't matter whether you purchase it on the spot or you just accumulate all your earnings and invest in it.
I think the issue here is that the entire profit is turned into BTC, when supposedly they only need a part of it to turn into as an investment, and the rest would be used for their finance. E.g is taxes, bills, personal necessities, etc. Though if they could do some automated thingy, where if someone pays in BTC, a part of it is sent into their wallet, and a part is directly converted into USD.
4209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: does it really make sense trading on Bitcoin? on: December 02, 2020, 04:29:39 AM
To each their own I guess? And if you were to start comparing it with gold, I guess we can start with how Gold is initially back then, even when we were still using it as a way of payment itself back in the old ages. Just looking at that, you can see how gold has developed its own market in decades, maybe even centuries (idk, i never studied gold history), where as Bitcoin is only a decade old. Not to mention that people quickly realized the value of Bitcoin as a currency, which is probably why the price fluctuates so much.

And at this point really, even if you hate hodlers, you can't deny the fact that well, they were right. Hodling, so far from the decade that Bitcoin has existed, is a decision that is worthy of its own praise, whether it was done willy nilly, or with a plan in mind. At this point, no one bloody cares why you made that decision, people would most often care about what happened as a result of that decision.
4210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Non-Standard Casino Games on: December 02, 2020, 02:59:20 AM
Well, there's a new game that's about to come out, here's the discussion about it.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5294998.0
Kind of like sports betting, but it's not sports and has a twist. The idea of marble racing has been around for so long though, but I've never really seen much about it in gambling (that or I'm blind). As for others, I'm not really familiar with any, the oddest one that I've encountered was me and my friends just playing with bottles, but that's about it. A Casino game needs to be equal in providing luck to its players, so its kind of difficult to find new ones since the question of equality without bias would come into question. Probably why casinos only use sets of games that are the same as each other, with only the UI changing, since that makes it a more guaranteed gambling game.
4211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help my by answering 4 question! Thanks alot! on: December 01, 2020, 10:10:22 AM
- What do you know about bitcoin (3 sentences)
A trustless community where it's trusted enough to be used by a huge community. A safe asset but with a highly volatile quality, which makes it both hated and loved by investors. It's pretty much a system where transactions are done without any influence of a third party, which makes it a huge boon since you can guarantee that no type of corruption or anything is happening inside its transactions.
- Is bitcoin or are shares more popular and why?
I'd answer Bitcoin, but I think I'd be quite the biased one, especially because I've never had the opportunity to explore the entirety of the world of investments, and not that I plan to, at least not now.
- Is there still enough enthusiasm for bitcoin and why?
Why yes, right now as you see most of the enthusiasm is about the price, especially with it moving quite high right now, almost standing at the $20k mark, though it's also a sad part of how most of the enthusiasm is about that, and not how Bitcoin is as a currency.
- What would you recommend each bitcoin starter to do?
Learn the basics, especially the proper way of using wallets. Most people assume BTC is a scam due to misplaced knowledge, and really it isn't bringing anything good since the majority of those that listen to it are the same people who don't know anything about Bitcoin.
4212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: France's gambling recovers on: December 01, 2020, 07:59:26 AM
I do believe that we have yet another country whose recovery from the pandemic was linked to the online gambling industry. Thus I do believe that banning gambling is something that is not the solution rather the countries should look forward to regulate them. One can always engage in responsible gambling.
Banning was indeed never the answer. Banning is simply countries running away from possible problems and implications, and not really facing it head on to prevent any more mishaps in the future. Let's be real, if they were to ban Gambling simply because people irresponsibly use their money on them, then they should ban EVERY form of entertainment out there. There are a lot of people who spend irresponsibly on those, and yet they allow it don't they? Gambling was never the one in the wrong, it was the way most people attacked the issues that were wrong.

Anyway, glad that at least they know when to face that gambling can actually help a country. Just goes to show how any industry can actually prove to be helpful, just that the mindset of most people is locked and refuse to accept it.
4213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about this service ? on: December 01, 2020, 05:16:11 AM
Wasn't there one about the same issue just a few months ago iirc? Someone had the same issue with you (that, or someone actually said they have insider info, I don't really remember anymore) and honestly, seemed pretty stupid.

To answer you, I've never really received them, mostly cause I don't use Telegram. I avoided it after my inbox list became plagued with people trying to scam me and the like. And If I ever did receive one, I'd probably just leave it to rot there, forever. Well, I would never honestly believe in any type of tips about "fixed" matches or something, heck I don't care about it. I care if a match is fixed, but if someone knows it's "fixed", the hell do I care, you're a random dude from the net why would I believe you. And one more thing, images as proofs are most likely a thing of the past already most of the time, especially if sent arbitrarily without any proofs or the like, it'd just make it seem more and more fake.

For the robot feeling, well, if you're money minded, even without this dude, you'd be plenty of a robot yourself already imo. A person who just bets for the sake of winning more money is kind of like that, not everyone ofc, but some are like that.
4214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gamblers! What is your excuse to avoid a game with 0% House Edge? on: December 01, 2020, 01:38:04 AM
It's quite a boring site, and additionally, I don't find such games quite entertaining tbh. I don't look at the game based on its house edge, after all, I gamble to entertain myself, not to make myself rich. Add that to the platform UI, which is simple, yes, but it's too simplistic, to the point that there's close to nothing in it. The first thing to do? Make a black theme, my personal preference tbh, but from what I can see, most people enjoy darker themes.

Well, it is quite apparent that their team is quite active and supportive of opinions, appreciate that, however, you guys aren't the only ones that are doing so. Got to step up the game if you guys actually want to compete with other casinos. I myself don't really enjoy such games, but heck, who knows about others right?
4215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I want to know about this game. on: November 30, 2020, 12:02:40 PM
Oh wow, this seems interesting. I never expected an IRL marble race, I actually thought it was akin to something like Twitch's Marble race thingy (dunno what it's called, just had the fortune to see it a few times). It looks nice, and the addition of the obstacles being connected as well as the bits of the hash being connected is a nice surprise. Never really thought of it that way, though if there was a way to increase the number of obstacles that'd be nice. A nice basis would be that marble race thingy on youtube.

Here's a sample
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssIYDJRGDeU

Ofc, adding this and accommodate it with provably fair elements may be difficult but Idrk. If it were to develop to something like this, then a marble league lead by that lil hamster could well be on its way.
4216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I regret to scrutinize bitcoin! on: November 30, 2020, 11:05:51 AM
I agree with most except 4, Bitcoin is one of the answers, but it isn't the only answer. Digital payments are already a thing, and you can do cashless transactions with various merchants now adays, Paypal being a good example. We aren't really looking for quality here btw, just the ability to pay cashless transactions. Another thing is that Bitcoin may not be affected by inflation, but it is a highly volatile asset. Well, considering the two, I'd go for Bitcoin all the time but it is still a factor to pay attention to though.

And besides, most of those new players in the community right now are more often than not investors instead of users. It's not really a bad thing, but it kind of misses the point of what Bitcoin is really. Well, at this point we want every type of advertisement about it though, I guess time would fix that false identity of Bitcoin as an investment.
4217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A free land for bitcoin on: November 30, 2020, 09:02:52 AM
Remove the Government and we wouldn't have problems now, would we? Kidding aside, Bitcoin, in general, isn't really a controllable asset, countries may ban it as they like but they can't stop people from using it, especially with how it doesn't even give a peep of who you are (as long as you don't give away your info like an idiot that is). Give it some time, countries would give up sooner or later in banning it since they're just basically wasting their effort in trying to do so.

And on that note, we don't really need an island, nor do we need countries to acknowledge Bitcoin is legal. It exists because it exists, that's basically it. It's inevitable, just like how arguing with a rock would produce nothing.
4218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce bitcoin who don't know.? on: November 30, 2020, 06:35:29 AM
Answer to 1: NOPE. As long as universities don't even teach the basics of finance such as taxes and what not, introducing Crypto in it seems unlikely. Blockchain on the other hand, is a bit of a more specialized subject imo, and could be taught in courses that actually tackle it or would tackle it, but I hardly doubt it since Blockchain is a specialized type of Database and most that are taught in universities are mostly generalized ones, at least in my case.
2. Some people do seminars and the like regularly, so I guess that's a thing already. As for their topics, I'm not particularly sure but as long as it's about crypto (not trading crypto) I guess it's fine?
3. Unlikely. YouTubers create videos for content that is actually enjoyable and the like. the majority would not sit in front of their screens and listen to you discuss something they aren't even interested in. It's like the seminars done by schools that force students to listen to them, where the vast majority of those students wouldn't even remember the contents after a few days.

All in all, I don't think there's a need to force everyone to learn it, if someone wants to learn it, sure, ask away in various forums and the like. In fact, this forum itself stands as something like a teaching ground, since a lot of people could answer various queries about crypto, and discussions could easily be made. Granted that you can sort through the number of replies a post could get though.
4219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream news media's new portrayal on bitcoin hehehe on: November 30, 2020, 04:21:32 AM
Well that was misleading, Was about to talk trash about how these peoples minds are full of air if they ever did start talking about Bitcoin as racist and discriminatory. This is an issue about Coinbase and their management itself, not Bitcoin.

The closest I could find in the article that has any connection with Crypto, other than Coinbase being an exchange was the line made by Mr. Armstrong, about leaving the issues of company management and instead focus on the goal of Coinbase, profit, and advancement of cryptocurrencies. Heck, this shouldn't even be on the crypto news since the article itself started with racism and discrimination being active on the technology world, now I don't really know if it's true or not but that should really be the focus and coinbase.
4220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on Open ending events? Should casinos continue offering them? on: November 29, 2020, 11:05:16 AM
I think it's fair game imo? As far as I'm concerned, gambling sites are only the hosts, they are in no way forcing people to join in their little game. Well people who actually just got irritated with the Biden vs Trump thing would stop joining in such types of gambles, and so would probably end up in these kinds of events dying themselves, so I guess there's no problem there. If there are people willing to join, then they'd keep doing it, if there wasn't then they'd close it, simple as that.

Strictly speaking though, it is kind of a bad type of event, since most who joined are expecting a clear result. The result being dragged on and on isn't really a positive thing to feel about, but well, nothing we can do or the casino can do I suppose.
