4222  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YOBIT EXCHANGE SCAM peoples in YODA and DICE coins on: August 29, 2020, 11:32:17 PM
Yobit is one of the shadiest exchanges out there and there are many open scam accusations against them.
Even if you exchange their shitcoin for doge you will get aro~2$ worth of doge.

It looks like they are promoting their new scam shitcoin now (DLRS). Just to understand how shady they are and how far they would go to deceive their customers: when you visit their website you will see

4223  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Cheater Use my Facebook & Twitter Profile link. Help me. on: August 29, 2020, 09:36:50 PM
but you can also change your Facebook & Twitter Profile usernames,
so that old ones don't work anymore.
I'm not sure about facebook but this is not going to help for twitter accounts.
AFAIK, campaign managers ask for the twitter handle and not the profile name to join their bounty campains. Unfortunately, you can't change your handle.

@notblox1 you are correct, you can change the handle from profile settings. I just tested it and it worked.
Sorry about that.

What's the point of using the profile name of someone else to join a campaign?
4224  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 29, 2020, 08:45:12 PM
I gamble with minimum I can, with the biggest possible I can win, the returns suck and I have even seen myself getting "0" when I win, that is how low I get and that is why I love it as well, because if I lose I do not lose too much and if I win I do not win too much but I can continue to gamble for 12 hours and the result would be like 700 satoshi lost, so I can continue to gamble like nothing happened for a very very long time without having to worry about it.
I understand that you want to limit the risks of losing money by doing this but where is the fun in that! Placing bets for hours and knowing in advance you are not going to win/lose anything!

I have great enthusiasm play crashes as well, but I've limited amount of money to play! May I know do you make profit $30/day? That's big money for me
You can earn some free money by participating in one of roobet's contests. It's really funny and you can earn without investing a single penny.
Keep an eye on the Games and rounds section so you don't miss any of them.

but atleast you put up some of your time to focus on our sections, especially, those that aren't that familiar.
It took me about half an hour to find all the correct answers.
I've been here for more than three years now and I thought I knew all the forum sections/sub-sections but after finishing the game I realised I was wrong.

don't cheat! but if you want, always remember the developer's option  Grin

Got 49 but to be honest, I cheated a little bit  Tongue
I didn't use the developer mode. What I did is entering the most used letters like "e", "s", "i" ... and search on the forum home page for matches. I always found the correct answer without having more than 3-4 wrong letters.

4235  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Help]Mobile wallet on: August 23, 2020, 09:37:57 PM
You can use any reputable wallet for this.
And as suggested above, disabling the "use change address" feature will do the trick. The only inconvinience is when using a hd wallet this will not stop it from generating a new receiving address when the current one has been used and you may mistakenly give the newly generated address to the sender.

To solve this, choose one of your wallet's addresses, export its private key and import it to a new wallet. This way you can rest assured that you will be always using the same address for both sending and receiving.

...
Thanks o_e_l_e_o for the info. I didn't know about these vulnerabilities.
I know that there is no 100% secure device but didn't expect there were a vulnerability which allows the attacker to steal funds remotely... this is a bit concerning!

AFAIK, vulnerabilties that require physical access to the device aren't that easy to exploit.
4237  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum. Transaction stuck in the pipe? on: August 23, 2020, 07:52:48 PM
Please excuse my complete lack on knowledge on this subject, but when you say "address" for checking on a block explorer, where do I find this please?

If your wallet is fully synchronized then there is really no need to use a block explorer as your wallet will show all the info related to your addresses and using a block explorer may complicate things if you don'k know which address you used as input. So better keep it simple.

You can use blockchair.com or blockchain.com if you like.

Is "bumping" a transaction a prompt to the blockchain to get it broadcasted, and if it isn't broadcasted does that mean that it wasn't sent? ... I can't see an option for this in Electrum in the Windows or top menu.

If your transaction stays unconfirmed for a long time because of low fees and it was flagged as rbf, on Electrum, right click on the unconfirmed transaction and select Increase Fee then set higher fee rate for the new transaction.
4238  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum. Transaction stuck in the pipe? on: August 23, 2020, 07:04:50 PM
Unfortunately, in the Send window - if I right click on the first (test) transaction (0.0002 btc) , and I have the option to Delete this also.

Now I am so confused :/

don't be,
What you see on the Send tab under Outgoing payments are just invoices. You can delete them or leave them there as I believe they will be automatically removed anyway.
Probably, you saved a copy of the first transaction before you broadcast it!

You can see the broadcasted transactions under the History tab.

You have two options, either to remove the invoice to avoid any confusion and create the transaction from scratch or right click the invoice and choose Pay, set the fee rate then click Send.
4239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting a hardware wallet doesn't mean your funds are completely safe on: August 23, 2020, 06:25:20 PM
I only trust paper wallets because they can be saved at our secure places and are not prone to online attacks as all they will have is our private keys.

Since there is no known vulnerability or a bug affecting the most popular hardware wallets that can result in your funds being stolen, I don't see how paper wallets can be more secure than hardware wallets!
By using a hw you can sign transactions without having to disclose your private keys. However, when using a paper wallet, you will have to import the private key into a third party software and you will have to take extra precautions to ensure your private key doesn't get leaked.
4240  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum. Transaction stuck in the pipe? on: August 23, 2020, 05:27:18 PM
These "double spend" and "low fee" warnings are causing me concern about the idea of trying to send the second transaction again. I don't want my money to be stuck in some kind of void of never completed transactions. As I didn't get to see the transaction fee, what if this was Zero!?

AFAIK, Electrum doesn't allow double spending. You can't use the same UTXOs that have been used in a previous transaction unless your transaction has the RBF flag and even then you will have to click the bump fee button.
Also, you can't send a zero-fee transaction on Electrum. The minimum fee rate is 1sat/byte.

... This is where I am certain that I can't see the second transaction, not in History anyway.  I can see what looks like the first one though.

if the second transaction doesn't appear in the history tab, then it hasn't been broadcasted.
Just delete the invoice and start over.
