You may have difficulty obtaining/upgrading center-tapped delta service. Electric utilities don't like them because they are a source of asymmetry in the grid. Look at the transformer diagram in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-leg_delta <snip> Thanks! I was looking for a diagram like that to better explain the Delta connection. Bookmarked.

Okay well, now I feel like I got a discount.
Well the fact you did most of the work yourself certainly helped on price Also, we spec'd no aluminum wire - Cu only - plus panels/disconnects rated to 600VAC are substantially more pricey than 300V gear.

That sounds like a reasonable ball park price.
When we moved SLI to our new facility we upgraded the building from 150kw 208v wye up to 500kw 480V wye. Consumers Energy covered cost of their transformer and we paid for everything else. Including trenching from pad to building for bigger cables, the main and 3 smaller service panels, a 800A 480-208 xmfr for systems that don't like 480 (and a disconnect panel from that) and a couple smaller distribution xmfrs for the offices, bus ducts, etc., I think it ran us a bit over $170k for the upgrade.

Wow! Is that even possible? It is when a LOT of folks want to pay enough extra for a tx to go through ASAP. God bless 'em!

Ja! Great googly moogly, 17.14199663BTC Is that an all time high for us in tx fees?

Blame Thomas Edison.... He is the one that came up with the delta configuration to compete against Tesla/Westinghouse and their balanced 3-phase power systems.
Part of the feud between him and Tesla involved Tesla figuring out that 3-phase motors are more smaller and more efficient than single-phase motors and that requires 3 hot legs referenced to a neutral/ground. Once he was forced to start working with AC, Edison based his power distribution on the notion that most users would be using single-phase, 110v for lighting and the (single) 220v for high watt loads.
For most small commercial and office loads Delta makes sense because you don't need a transformer to get 110v services and 480v (wye) service is typically reserved for companies wanting several hundred kw of power.

Power is the same regardless of delta or Wye. From the end user view the main difference is having one wild leg that is only a 220v power feed and a neutral at the center of one winding for 110v from it to the other 2 legs. Yes you have three phase power but the loading is very unbalanced whereas a wye will give 220 across each of the 3 legs and/or 110v from any leg to the center-point neutral. Assuming a balance load 3-phase equation is V* average current of the 3 legs (or just pick the highest current one)*1.73= Watts ref https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-phase_electric_power

Perhaps if you ask in the altcoin sections you might get an answer.... For the umpteen-millionth time folks, this area is BTC only. Not Eth, Not Lite, Not ZEC, etc...

Heh heh... 6 days after I paid for one of the latest T9's the tx just got confirmed this morning and Bitmain acknowledged it, changed order to valid/paid. Question is, any left to be shipped... ?
Wow,most tx take about 3-6 hrs for me.....Corp BTC miners are gettin greedy, with all the hashrate you'd think maybe 30 mins or less......... Most are quite fast for me in a few hours as well. My prev longest was 2 days. Maybe Blockchain.info had a brain fart as a consolidation transfer I did about an hour after the Bitmain order also took the 6 days to confirm as well.

More specifically, in post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1764803.msg17678108#msg17678108 and the one after it. The pot is only a 1-turn device but has no stops, just goes round and round. Turn far enough CW and it jumps from max to min voltage then ramps up again as you turn. Gotta look REAL closely at the wiper you turn. I does have an identifying mark to use as reference where it is pointed. EDIT: Just saw new post. Turning far enough CCW makes it jump from min voltage to Max and then down again...

I rather cringe about publicly bring this up but, is a two-edged sword I guess. Especially in seeing such a poorly constructed website one has to ask: Is there an ulterior motive to bringing in visitors? In light of the WannaCry worm, even though so far it can only hit XP systems I must STRONGLY SUGGEST that when visiting scam or possible scam sites: A) Close your browser and reopen it in Private Mode. Be sure that your Private Mode does not allow saving data/cookies/anything! B) TURN OFF all Java/Active-X functions C) TURN OFF Flash D) TURN OFF all animationWhen done of course clear all History's, cookies, etc. before closing the Private browser. Um, also bite the bullet and lose XP and perhaps also use either Chrome or Opera when visiting questionable sites. So far all initial infections have been on XP systems that visited a hacked website. As part of the 'normal' website activities allowed by XP and Active-X, the worm was let in.

*** Foxminers LLC is a SCAM! First of all, I suggest the OP re-titles this thread as SCAM!The gear they show is -- priceless... is most definitely a pic of the BFL 10GHs Jala. I still have 2x of them purchased Feb. 2014 for about $400 each. If one can still find more of the chips in them the board can be stuffed with enough to push 30GHs @ around 150w... Pretty laughable... Appears to be a RasPi board with <unknown Miracle Miner> in front. 10.5Ts eh? Hell, if the OP want's fireworks, um, point Gleb at them....

NP. At least you realized that right off the bat, kudos You have have enough posts/activity count that as OP you can either delete or lock it. Look in lower-left of screen for the options.

We now offer comp mining while unit is in paid repair. If it is not fixable, we will stop the comp mining upon discovery of none fixable condition and let you know!
Also, soon BitmainWarranty be reborn as Myrig.com

Also, soon BitmainWarranty be reborn as Myrig.com At least that will remove new miners confusion between your company and Bitmain.com Will you also be handing North American in-warranty repair for them as well?

If the idea is to make money, a PC cannot be used for mining Bitcoin. PERIOD. BTC has been an ASIC world for several years now.
Alt-coins - sure. Post in the section specifically for them and you will get usable answers from people who use that kind of gear.

*** Foxminers LLC is a SCAM! If someone buys their miners without a well-known and trusted Forum User 1st getting one for doing a review and posting it here then well, you have been warned ***No, that is a PAID-FOR PR release. Not to mention an old one... I highly doubt that they have taken in anything remotely close to that from suckers who may fall for this SCAM. Very few internet 'news outlets' actually verify anything anymore and at least in the crypto-coin world most never ever have. Pay them the $40 and they will print anything as 'news'.
