4221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The longer you play poker the better you become ? on: June 18, 2019, 02:56:42 PM
Well look if this was a true and accurate statement then I would be very rich since I have been playing poker more then 40 years
Achieving success at poker doesnt really depend on your time played but rather if you possess the skill set and can calculate odds quickly
I dont personally like poker since I am up against other people who may have a better skills or are just better at math
4222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Justin-Warren Lunch: The Publicity Side on: June 16, 2019, 12:23:19 PM

https://www.coindesk.com/hype-or-hope-a-meeting-of-the-minds-for-the-benefit-of-crypto?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=coindesk&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Organic%20

Justin Sun, founder of the Tron blockchain, has paid $4.75 million for the privilege of having lunch with legendary investor Warren Buffett.

News outlets around the world picked up this news, trumpeting it as yet another example of how ridiculous the crypto sector can be.

The gesture is attention-grabbing, true, and not just because $4.75 million is a lot to pay for a meal and a couple of hours of someone’s time. It’s also worthy of a jaw drop given Buffett’s public opinion of bitcoin: “probably rat poison squared” is one of his more colourful descriptions.

However, the real event here is being overlooked. Thanks to Sun’s largesse, two extremes of the current investment landscape will sit at the same table and talk to each other. This is more significant than most of us realise.

4224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tom Schwarz vs. Tyson Fury TODAY! on: June 16, 2019, 12:18:10 PM
It's like a walk in the park for Tyson Fury, brilliant defense and offense, very much surprised on his body defense to parry Tom's punches, it was all Fury all night I'm expecting an easy fight for Tyson but not that easy well congratulation for a well-deserved win.

Anyone noticed how he did the 'rope-a-dope'? Schwarz throws like 4-5 punches but Fury eluded everything, lol. And then he switches stances on the second round that totally lost Schwarz and didn't know what to do next, that's why Fury was able to caught him with good punches then he eventually went down and never recovered.
I was very wrong about my prediction for this one - Tyson looked like a world class heavyweight champion

4225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao Stands as Underdog vs Thurman — Sportsbooks on: June 16, 2019, 12:11:01 PM
No Manny Pacquiao is not Underdog in this fight like in fact i think he will win in this because base in age like example in experience, speed and strategy then he develop this more than Thurman another thing we know if you base in the punch then Manny is in fighter like he will fight for the K.O then not running around the boxing ring so he's perfect as a boxer then very wise in his many fight
Check the odds anywhere you look Pacman is the underdog
4226  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-06-15] Bitcoin Surpasses 1 Million Daily Active Addresses on: June 16, 2019, 03:17:03 AM

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-surpasses-1-million-daily-active-addresses-again?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=coindesk&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Organic%20

Bitcoin just passed an interesting milestone today, one we haven’t seen since November 27, 2017. According to CoinMetrics.io, there are now over a million daily active addresses, a number that is defined as the number of unique “from” or “to” addresses used per day.

When Bitcoin first broke 1 million active addresses (Nov 27, 2017), 1 BTC was $9,352 and the median tx fee was $3.23.

Yesterday 1 BTC was $8,230 and the median tx fee was $1.33.

While DAA doesn’t mean much in practice, it’s an important metric in that it shows actual, unique transfers separate from the various direct transfers to and from bigger exchanges. The fact that there are over a million unique addresses transacting on the blockchain is, as they say, good for bitcoin.

When Bitcoin first broke 1 million active addresses (Nov 27, 2017), 1 BTC was $9,352 and the median tx fee was $3.23.

Yesterday 1 BTC was $8,230 and the median tx fee was $1.33.

To put this number in perspective, however, we can point to Uber’s estimated 14 million rides per day or the estimated 798,877 iPhones a day Apple sold in 2017. While these are Apples to oranges comparisons, it is interesting to note that bitcoin is doing the transaction volume of some of the biggest brands in the world.
4227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tom Schwarz vs. Tyson Fury TODAY! on: June 16, 2019, 03:14:56 AM
I think that Tyson Fury will outbox the German here and win a comfortable decision with many of the other heavyweights champion paying close attention.
Tyson looks to be called as he lays in a bed in the locker room before his big entrance to defend the title.
Getting excited for this one and might stay up past my bed time for it
4228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to quit? Here's how on: June 16, 2019, 03:12:25 AM
One of my coworkers is a self admittingly degenerate gambler and he started to take a medication every morning with food.
He told us at lunch that the medicine not only controls his desire to gamble but also to eat  Huh
But he does not wake up and pay poker before even brushing his teeth like he once did
I cant remember the name of this medicine but I can ask him if anyone wants to know.
4229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao Stands as Underdog vs Thurman — Sportsbooks on: June 16, 2019, 03:10:28 AM
This is not a big surprise to see the older man here Pacquaioas a underdog versus the undefeated younger champion
Just because the odds do not favor Manny here doesnt mean he wont win.
I am not sure who i will be taking in this one since we still have a short while before we see the weigh in.

4230  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-06-14] Twitter & Square CEO Plan to Boost Bitcoin Development on: June 14, 2019, 05:53:19 PM

https://www.coindesk.com/jack-dorsey-hints-at-how-square-crypto-may-help-with-bitcoin-development?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=coindesk&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Organic%20

After revealing that his payments firm Square is building a small team to help with bitcoin and cryptocurrency development back in March, CEO Jack Dorsey has revealed more details about the project – even though it’s still early days.

In an interview with The Next Web, Dorsey, who is also CEO of Twitter, confirmed that he’d recently hired former Google director Steve Lee to lead the team. Dorsey said that he’d interviewed “tens of candidates” for the post before arriving at Lee as his choice.

The new hire will take responsibility for building the remainder of the team, as well as defining its future path, he said. Square is currently eyeing a maximum of five engineers and one designer, who will likely work on a single project rather than many.

That’s because Dorsey aims to “make some step changes to various aspects of the ecosystem, versus an iteration,” he said.

While one would expect devs, the choice of a designer comes as something of a surprise in such a early stage project. Dorsey put this down to the need for the need to make cryptocurrencies more accessible, as well as providing education on the technology.

Joking that the team doesn’t want any “jerks,” Dorsey also said that it’s important any candidates must have good technical abilities.

“We want to see significant open-source contributions to various projects. Bitcoin Core is a great example of that, but there’s others, too,” he said.

As for its particular role in the crypto ecosystem, he explained that Square Crypto might conduct “grungy, but meaningful” code reviews in order to speed up development. While there are plenty of devs helping out on cryptocurrency projects, few are working on checking the correctness of the code, Dorsey said – changing that could give a “huge boost” to the space.

Outside that, there’s need for work to improve efficiency and security. “There’s still a number of big flaws within the Bitcoin community right now,” Dorsey told TNW.

The CEO also indicated that he wants to keep the role of Square in the mechanics of the team to a minimum, ruling out cheap stock options in favor of optional bitcoin salaries in order to build a desire to better “serve the community.”

The work carried out by the team should also be open to the public. While it’s not set in stone yet, Dorsey suggested Square Crypto could operate like a traditional open-source project.

Aside from the more general development work of the crypto team, Square is eyeing bitcoin technology in its products too. Back in February, Dorsey announced during an interview with podcaster Stephan Livera that there are plans to integrate the lightning network – a still early-stage bitcoin payments tech – with Square’s Cash app.

What a world we live in to see a young man like JB feel the need to call out a man twice his age to a match  Roll Eyes
TBH there is a 0% chance that we will ever see them in a ufc match it would more likely be a sparring match for charity
These men have too much money and risk taking a elbow to the mouth or a kick to the face.
I would hope if they do that JB wins cause TC is a Scientology weirdo

4234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING AND CHARITY on: June 14, 2019, 05:36:35 PM
Well for me I dont see any similarities to gambling and religion in fact if anything at all I would think any higher power would be against gambling instead of favoring it.
Even though it is considered a sin by many to gamble I think any charity would be open to your generous offer to donate
Just remember you may end up 'donating' more then you thought you would if you dont monitor your wins and losses
4235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 14, 2019, 05:32:48 PM
Is there any sporstbook that will offer In game betting for these races?
Motor sports is the type of sport where it is easier to predict thew winners after the race has already started
I believe this to be this reason alone why you dont see very many In game betting options for it.
4236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Accepting Churches on: June 12, 2019, 09:03:39 PM
I mentioned the idea to my local pastor and he was not familiar with how BITCOIN would be able to benefit the church.
He is a older man so this is probably the reason why he was not familiar with the new technology even though he said he was aware it existed
Maybe if your church pastor is younger and interested in crypto then your church will begin to accept BITCOIN but mine was not willing to do so.

I was reading that this match will by not only Tyson first match in Las Vegas, NEVADA USA but it is also his first trip to this American state.
I am wondering how focused he will be with all of the sites and sounds that Las Vegas has to offer him and his friends and if he will be distracted by any of it

We must also remember that we as the gamblers are more likely to be affected mentally then by those who dont gamble
There are many unfortunate endings for people who can not control this addiction of 'problem gambling'.

From the article - “If someone is sitting at same machine for 16 hours do you go over to them and say ‘mate are you OK’, or do you go and get him another drink?”
This is very scary stuff and I dont see how the casino can not tilt their head in shame here.

It appears the club may be facing disciplinary hearing

Well of course it is especially if you are in favor of Bitcoin gambling.
Without the blockchain technology we would not be here able to gamble with our crypto
Its faster its easier and its more anonymous for gamblers so as long as the technology is available I am all for it
