4241  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I received 0.00318 USDT on Binance on: August 23, 2020, 04:38:57 PM
When you log in to your binance's account, can you see the depositing transaction id? (It has been a while since the last time I used Binance). If yes, the try to google the sending address and see if it has been reported anywhere or if it was linked to any suspecious activities in the past.
You can use a blockexplorer to see if you are the only one who received from that address or there are others who did too. If you are not the only one, then this is just another dust attack.
4242  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum. Transaction stuck in the pipe? on: August 23, 2020, 03:23:06 PM
ranochigo is right, the transaction hasn't been broadcasted at all. This is why you can see the delete button because it's just an invoice.
Electrum saved the transaction but didn't sign it or broadcast it yet.

This is not the first time a newbie complains about this and it's really understandable.
When you click save or don't set the transaction's fee, the transaction will be automatically saved. The invoice is a bit confusing as it's displayed exactly like how broadcasted transactions wete used to be displayed on prior versions of Electrum.

Besides, it doesn't make sense to set the fee after you set the amount to be sent! Devs must fix these issues with the next release.
4243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Electrum wallet address change?! on: August 23, 2020, 02:29:19 PM
Is this 100% sure though? I am having to do some upfront pay so I just am trying my ways to verify that it's the actual right person that I am trying to deal with.
All transactions are being recorded on the blockchain which is a public ledger and those records can't be tampered with.
So yes, if your wallet or a blockchain explorer shows "143f23d" as an input for the received transaction then this is indeed the address used to send you the coins.

Receiving a signed message is not enough, you have to verify it to be sure it was signed by the addresse's private key.
4244  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 'Know Bitcoin' app is live! on: August 23, 2020, 02:01:18 PM
When downloading the app, the first thing that brought my attention is its size. 11Mo is too much for a simple app like this. You may consider releasing a newer version with a more customized code / compressed images to make it lighter.
In the quiz tab, I was expecting it to be more interactive, when you click on the question you will directly get the correct answer. It would be more funny to let the user guess the correct answer to test his knowledge.
Also, it would be great if you let the user specify from which sources the app gets the latest news in the news tab.
4245  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What are the risks of mobile wallets? on: August 23, 2020, 12:12:57 PM
To mitigate the risks of getting your coins stolen when you lose your phone, you have to encrypt your important files or the whole disk. You can do this from the settings page or use a reliable encryption app.
You must also activate the lock-screen feature and use a strong password or a complex pattern.
To avoid drawing the attention of the thief, you can hide your app's icon. Again, you can use a reliable third party app for this or activate the private feature (something like that) from the settings page.

Always keep a back up of your wallet file/seed in a safe location and never keep more coins than you need in your mobile wallet.
4246  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this merit begging? on: August 23, 2020, 10:08:54 AM
He posted the same thing in the arabic board.
Promising to accept those who send him the most merit points in an imaginary signature campain for an inexistant project, sounds more like deception than begging.
I reported both topics for "merit begging" since scams are not moderated. Both of them were marked as good.
4247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Credential Stuffing Attack on: August 22, 2020, 11:52:21 PM
^ You are right, using different email addresses is a bit annoying and especially remembering which address you used for which platform. However, using a unique password for each platform you sign in is a must regardless of how unpleasnt it might be as it will save you from this kind of attacks. If your credentials get leaked, the attacker will not be able to access your other accounts.
4248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Another fake and phishing Ledger on: August 22, 2020, 10:28:16 PM
Thanks OP for the warning but honesty the odds that someone will fall for this are very slim.
Anyone who visits a website about hardware wallets is supposed to have a minimum of knowledge about how wallets works and will find it suspecious that the website is asking to enter the recovery seed to secure his wallet!

I don't know what the scammer was thinking about when he created this website but it looks like he is not that experienced and didn't plan well for this attack.
4249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHy I can create a new topic with image on: August 22, 2020, 08:30:56 PM
By taking a look at OP's last posts, it seems he finally managed to fix the problem.
He created two new topics and the images are showing up just fine.
I suppose OP didn't know how to use the img tags properly or the copper membership hasn't been activated yet by then.
Smiley

Uniswap on: August 21, 2020, 10:09:20 PM

4257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: People are complaining about airdrop/bounty earnings, something more profitable? on: August 16, 2020, 08:19:14 PM
^ believe me, the majority do not check the legitimacy of the project they are advertising, they never do any kind of research about it.
They just rush to join any bounty campaign with open slots. This is why they end up empty-handed most of the times.
I have nothing against bounty hunters and think many projects wouldn't succeed without their help.
4258  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: moremoney.io Scam Or Legit ? on: August 16, 2020, 07:40:23 PM
Whether they are legit or no, it's a complete waste of time.
When reading their ANN thread I found this:
✔️ Instant Advertisement publish (no need to admin confirm)

It's a big ted flag for me and for this I would never trust them.
They don't care about what's being advertised on their website. Anyone can advertise his scam/phishing website for as low as 3 bits per click.
4259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Clicking Google Ads can lead you to huge looses - Uniswap customers on: August 16, 2020, 06:55:05 PM
Google depends on its community to report those adv that are leading to a scam website. Unless it is reported Google will continue running the advert.

I remember reporting many scam ads but nothing happened. Some of them stil exist and haven't been removed.
To prevent this, Google can make those ads look different from search results. IRC, they were shown on the right side of the results page. Don't know why they made this stupid change.
4260  Other / Meta / Re: Just wondering why my thread was deleted on: August 16, 2020, 04:16:28 PM
Since you didn't receive any notification and there is nothing onmodlog, then most probably the thread has been moved to trashcan.

I believe the reason behind this is that a mod considered it as duplicate. There is a similar topic where OP asked almost the same question as yours:
See here:
Emotions; while betting, will you risk losing your fund to back your club?
