No. That's about CRYPTO SP. Z.O.O which Bitfinex used as a payment processor for a while but they have new banking arrangements now.

Do you think that there will be any update of the merit system? Or is there any possibility that merit system will be deleted?

I think the first is unlikely and the second is extremely unlikely. The system seems to be working as intended and other than continuing to add merit sources I don't expect to see any changes.

So, I had to be more active in the past, my fail. Hope that in future wont be hard to get merit, I see many threads where people asking for merit, because they think that they are posting good content..

If you have been involved in Bitcoin since 2013 then you probably know something about it and have something to contribute to the forum. The forum's purpose is to be a place for Bitcoin enthusiasts to meet and discuss relevant topics. If that's what you are here for then a) rank will not matter and b) you'll soon start getting Merit.

This is true, but limiting the max amount of claims per day would not trump normal users (except the guy who tag teams with his mom, haha) and it would surely trump botnet users. You could limit it to 22 claims per day for example (which is a lot of money if you multiply those 2 claims by all the bots).
That extra money could be kept as profit or it could be given to users in the form of a bonus.

If we reduce the number of rolls a day they will just add more bots to the botnet to replace them.

@mods/admins
now to the ideas, since limiting the daily rolls is not an option.
i was thinking, ok, those botnets use captcha solver service, right?
simply maintain the captcha on the page after the free roll and keep the roll button on the page as refresh button (dummy), and of course the timer somewhere else..., get the picture? looping them out ;P

We've been playing this game with them for nearly 5 years now. Everything we do to stop them they adjust to within a few days. If there was a technical way to do it wetsuit would have found it before now. Making the base reward less than they pay for captcha solves they cannot find a technical way around.

Didn't realize people still did faucets. Not worth the time

LOL. Did you really just wast your time writing that drivel? Thanks for the bump.
4245  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 06, 2018, 02:46:02 PM
Has anyone withdrawn reward points from the site ? Any ideas how long it will take to get it redeemed ?

You cannot withdraw reward points. If you mean you withdrew Bitcoin a slow withdrawal is between 6 and 24 hours and an instant withdrawal is around 15 minutes, as stated on the withdraw tab.

I think he meant to say exchamge RP for a prize.

I suppose that's possible.

@achris What do you want to redeem them for and to which country does it need to be shipped?

As i stated before you should just check who was doing more than 18-20rolls(you decide) per day more than 5 days per month last few months(if you can do that). 99,9% of those users are bots or exploiters like mewbrrj(2 users working together) and 0,01% insomniacs. If you cant at the moment maybe you should try to.

You must have missed my reply in the previous post. They would just amend their bots to claim whatever number we set it to.

The bottom line is that the only way we can stop botnets is to make the reward less than they pay for a captcha solve.
4248  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is it worth to use faucets? on: April 06, 2018, 09:10:31 AM
In short no. Since the last 5 months, I tested how much can I earn with moon-faucets, free-bitcoin.io, freedeoge.io, etc, and the result was very bad I barely earn around 100 k Satoshi, which now is worth 9$. In Freebitcoin.io and freedoge.io somehow I wasn't able to win the prize over second reward (9886-9993) nor I won't the lottery. So I decided to join to the Signature campaign, and guess what, after one week I got more than through 5 months, over 3 times. I mean the way how freebitcoin.io is manipulating people is amazing, the gave people chance to win something bigger than normal faucets and it is working, people are buying lottery tickets for doing captchas, and give they money which they earned. I don't want to suggest that the service is scam because it isn't, what I want to tell that using it is purposeless.

How many free rolls did you have on freebitco.in and have worked you out the probability of winning the larger prizes? Comparing it to other faucets isn't really rational as they just pay you to view adverts whereas we offer you a game to play. Comparing making a few clicks to have the chance of winning a prize and writing posts for a signature campaign is logically fallacious. You might as well say I can make more as an airline pilot.

It is not manipulating anyone and it is not purposeless. It is a gambling site where people come to be entertained and have the chance of winning.

I highlighted the source of your problem. If you think you can earn money from gambling then you haven't understood its nature and will end up disappointed.

A quick update on the weekly withdrawal fee. The backend has been updated and all withdrawals will be charged at the slow withdraw fee rate this weekend. The front end display hasn't been updated yet but should be before Sunday.
4250  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 06, 2018, 05:22:54 AM
Hi TheQuin
I'm currently on half rations Wink
I've been playing the multiply game. Will my base reward eventually go up if I just play the multiply game enough times or do I need to buy lottery tickets/deposit as well?
You can normalize your base reward with any of those, doesn't need to be a combination, so yes, you can play the Multiply BTC game only and it will eventually fix. Keep in mind that it's still the slowest way of getting it up, as Jackpots have 4x and Lottery has 20x. But of course your chances of winning those are the same so you lose the same amount of satoshi (I think)

That's correct you can do any one or any combination of those and then the algorithm takes it all into account. This isn't a recommendation but I would go for the Hi-Lo game on a low multiplier as it gives the best chances of winning.

I have a possible solution against bots.

Since they can make at least theoretically 24 claims in 24 hours the accounts using that means can be easily spotted and in consequence banned.
It's imposibile for a human being to make free rolls exactly after 1 hour constantly.
not exactly true, my mother and i had a system base on our working hours,
at nights i rolled for myself on my notebook and for her on her smartphone and vice versa at day time, that way we could take almost full 24h advantage of reward bonus + btc bonus..., and still be human rollers ;P

but, a solution based on that concept is still open, simply limit a user to have a max of 12 or 16 rolls day, obviously some other things need to be accordingly adjusted...

The problem with this isn't just that some people would be mistakenly blocked but that within a couple of days the bot operators will work it out. Then they would just add a random timer so it wasn't exactly 1hr.
The bottom line is that the only way we can stop botnets is to make the reward less than they pay for a captcha solve.
4251  Other / Meta / Re: Abusive Merit Giveaway on: April 05, 2018, 01:00:41 PM
Everyone is free to give merit where they want, it is only a problem if they are trading them or farming alts.

That was one of the reasons why I began this thread. Since users are free to distribute their merit in almost any way they would like, it makes me wonder if this is even something that is actionable or if it is riding an unfortunate line.

Interestingly the thread has been deleted by the moderators. I think that is probably due to it falling foul of the forums rule prohibiting incentivised posting.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads.

My highlighting on the difference between that thread and other Merit review threads.

I have a different problem. I have bought 0.001 btc worth lottery tickets and my base free roll prize increased to 0.00000028 btc/free roll. But my referral earnings is still at %25. I am earning 0.00000007 btc/ref free roll.
It should be 0.00000014 btc/ref free roll. (%50 of my base free roll prize) Can you fix it?
My ID: 3460665

Are you saying you are receiving 7 sats from your referral? If so then that indicates that the person referred to you is still getting 14 sats and that is how it should work.

If you are saying that the person you are referred to is only getting 7 everytime you get 28 then there is something wrong. If so please PM me both users IDs.
4253  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why have the fees so drastically dropped ? on: April 05, 2018, 12:32:43 PM
Well all the ones with more than 20 channels open, you know ran by the miners because only they have the hardware, skills and BTC to run
these banker hubs and past history shows just how much we can trust these miners.

If that was true why not call them mining hubs? Do you have any evidence to support the claim?

if it charges transactions fees and interest on the BTC to keep the ledger open, it's a bank

I think you are not quite aware of what constitutes and bank.

https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/bank

Quote
Bank2
1. A financial establishment that uses money deposited by customers for investment, pays it out when required, makes loans at interest, and exchanges currency.

An open channel is not a deposit. Lightning Nodes are not free to invest coins in open channels. Lightning Nodes do not make loans or exchange currency. Claiming that running a Lightning Node makes you a bank is disingenuous. But you already know that. That's why you do it.

4254  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why have the fees so drastically dropped ? on: April 05, 2018, 11:24:12 AM
...the lightning network is both off-block and consists of banking hubs

A decentralised network is by definition a hub and spoke architecture. I remember from your previous posts that you make a point of referring to 'banking hubs'. Can you tell me which hub on the Lightning Network is owned and operated by a bank?
4255  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 05, 2018, 09:45:23 AM
Did you google search anytime freebitco?

No, I found freebitco.in on this forum the first week it was launched so I never had any need to search for it.

You will get an answer - FreeBitco.in - Free Bitcoin Wallet, Faucet, Lottery and Dice!

They say first faucet and later dice game.

I think you're reading too much into the order things are listed. When adverts were removed the site's income shifted to purely gambling.

Even though you guys are trying to rebrand site as a gambling site but your site has gained a name for faucet money not for a gambling.

I really wasn't very keen on the idea of rebranding but you've made a very strong case to start to shift my opinion. Having said that I should also point out that there is nothing to stop you still using the site for free just as a faucet. The quote of mine you took was just pointing out to someone that they had unrealistic expectations if they consider doing so would give a large return.
4256  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 05, 2018, 07:32:33 AM
I don’t understand such an anger, unless you gambled and lost your money there.

Often this anger is born out of the wrong expectation. If someone thinks of gambling in terms of investing time to earn money then they can only ever end up disappointed.
4257  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 05, 2018, 07:19:58 AM

I think you are looking at it the wrong way and my point that gambling is entertainment counters your other points.

It's not a counter to any of my points, or even on-topic to my claim that time has value. It's a red herring. I'm saying that "time has value", you are saying that "gambling is fun", that is not a topical reply to my claim.

It's no red herring, it's the point. Of course time has value but value is not just monetary. If I spend my time playing an amateur sport I do it because I enjoy it and that is the reward in itself. That is also how I feel about gambling. If I win then there is a monetary reward that I can use to celebrate with.

If you spend your time playing free rolls you get a chance to win bigger prizes than the base reward. Plus all the other rewards and lottery tickets. I'm sorry that you still think of it in terms of earning $2 a year from a faucet but that's not what our site is about.
4258  Other / Meta / Re: Abusive Merit Giveaway on: April 05, 2018, 06:54:33 AM
As for the abusive thread, I think that guy is taking the piss out of the merit system, as he is offering random merits without asking for anything in exchange.

Can't moderators give him a ban/warning for such behaviour?

I bolded what I think is the important bit. By not asking for anything in exchange it is not abusive. Everyone is free to give merit where they want, it is only a problem if they are trading them or farming alts.
4259  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: freebitco.in "Browser Mining" - is it worth it? on: April 05, 2018, 06:31:20 AM
I can only make it work in Tor browser...

It works fine on Chrome for me but I'm happy you found a solution.
4260  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 05, 2018, 06:03:16 AM
Sorry, you missed a couple of questions. I didn't realize you would be so fast to reply while I was adding to my previous post.

Gambling is entertainment, not a job.

Why are you arguing points that I did not breach while ignoring the point that I did? Both require time and therefore both have a time-value.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way and my point that gambling is entertainment counters your other points. If you think of it as investing your time to claim from a faucet then you should probably stick to sites that reward you for clicking through adverts. We are a gambling site with a generous faucet. You may remember that we started out with adverts but the site has evolved into something different.

Why would you use the weekly withdrawal while we currently offer a slow withdrawal at 0.00000040 BTC?

If you think that some of the choices you offer are bad, then why do you offer them?

We are changing the weekly withdrawal to be at the slow withdrawal fee capped at a max 3000 sat. The change should be in place before this weekends payout.

Edit.
The $50 and $100 limits help stop abuse by botnets. We've been hit previously with networks of over 50,000 bots. They are not going to fund that with $2.5 mil to $5 Mil.
