4243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sending fake coins? on: December 09, 2012, 04:59:11 AM
If the coins appear in your wallet and remain there after six confirmations, they can never be taken away.
They can. However, the more confirmations you have, the less possibility of this happening.  Every 'confirmation' adds a level of security to the transaction, and a massive amount of resources would be needed to turn back each transaction. For daily uses and moderate transactions - say 1000 BTC and below - 1-2 confirmations are what you'll only probably need.
4244  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do if you're crazy about a girl that has a boyfriend? on: December 09, 2012, 04:20:14 AM
Be bright and go for a younger girl. You should be looking at 21 and 22 year old girls based on your age. When your 40 and she's 43 you'll be scouting out younger ones anyway. However if you are 40 and see is 33, your girl will still be hot. With today's social networks you should be able to find another. Also check out the girls mother to see how should could turn out. Don't get too fixated on one girl its not healthy.
Words of wisdom.  Shocked

He's one funny guy. http://www.molossia.org/war/index.html
I suppose he has trained squirrels as his infantry too.
4246  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Republic of Molossia on: December 09, 2012, 02:52:36 AM
I wanna meet this guy.
Quote
He has a space program (a model rocket), a currency (pegged to the value of chocolate-chip cookie dough), a railroad (model size), a national sport (broomball) and -- in his landlocked desert region -- a navy (an inflatable boat).
4247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For those clicking the 'FREE BTM' sites, be forewarned on: December 09, 2012, 02:46:27 AM
So do you two have a wallet with these companies holding it for you and you access it thru their site, or running one on your own machine?

Aaron

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that Electrum stores the wallet.dat file on the local machine.  I poked around in the folder a bit and seem to remember seeing one.
The private keys for electrum is held in one's local machine. The cloud part of the system merely assists in the procurement of the blockchain, where one doesn't need to download it as opposed to bitcoin-qt. The only risk would be the existence of malicious systems where a forged blockchain is fed to the user, and thus fools the user in thinking he has more/less bitcoins than he actually has. No actual loss of bitcoin should be possible as far as I know.
4248  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: On9isrock (Fadirul Ramli) on: December 08, 2012, 06:56:47 PM
A cursory search reveals that he's already infamous in local forums for such antics. He's permanently banned from various forums for begging/attempted scamming. In short, he's one of those good for nothings that would've ended in the streets without his parents' financial assistance.
4249  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: On9isrock (Fadirul Ramli) on: December 08, 2012, 06:37:48 PM
Oh well. I saw this coming, but I didn't think anyone would fall for this. Undecided
In fact, I'm in the same country as he's from (although not in the same state), and even I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.
Short of funds for food? Holy crap, there's no Bitcoin exchanger here!

The date of birth, address, ID card and etc you have on him seems to be in order. There's a slight mistranslation of Islam Lelaki, which means Islamic Male.  His lelong.com.my (the local equivalent to ebay.com) http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/Feedback/UserRating.asp?UserID=sottalov@1 (note the non-paying bids he has). He graduated from SMT Termeloh, a small technician school of approx. 342 students.  The streamyx.com address could be an important lead as it's his ISP-assigned email address.  He goes under a multitude of other money making forums as either on9isrock or sottalov. The IP addresses you have for him is kind of pointless except to prove his location as the ISP uses the dynamic IP system here.

4255  Other / Off-topic / Re: Deciding between a Liberal Arts education and a regular education on: December 06, 2012, 04:59:48 AM
If you can do it then imho it would be worth getting some hands on experience in whatever sector your interested in before making your mind up. The education system can be a rat race, popular jobs raise qualification requirements as they get more applicants trained to higher levels, believe it or not you need a degree just to get a job emptying bins in Paris (pays well and you finish early so gets a lot of applicants). Also, education can go out of date fast, my father is a fairly highly qualified engineer but the industry has changed so much and so quickly his qualifications have almost no relevance any more.
Yeah, with the education inflation issues lately hands on experience is the only other way of differentiating one from the masses. Recently many companies have risen the bar for the amount of education required, and most skilled workers are expected to have a Masters by 2020. I wonder how long would it take to make a PH.D required for skilled jobs now...

With the proper gear and training I would tackle climbing that tower for pay.... No problem.. I would even do the crazy skyscraper windows.

I'll need much more than the paltry hook they were using. Heck, I still have vivid visions where the hook slipped off the bar and the video showing some projectile motion off the tower.  Lips sealed

OP:
Please post any supporting evidence that you have on the case. (the single liner email SS etc)
If possible, do get the details from the merchant receiving the chargeback and clarify that if the cards were stolen.
