Seriously though, doesn't it seem a little silly for a great and powerful nation to run in fear of a 17 year old child? Are we that fragile? Should I be packin heat every time I visit the grocery store? lol
How dangerous could she be? She's just a little girl? SPOILER ALERT: She is damn dangerous!
But what fuels her hate? I fear that it is love that drives her. A love of killing. Yeah, ok. She popped out of her mothers womb with an assault rifle and fatigues. Governments fuel hate and no government is better at it than murrica. No country in the world has more armed citizens than the murrican crazy land. Just in case anyone missed it, QuestionAuthority switched from arguing that 17-year olds aren't dangerous enough to worry about (they're just nice young buys working at the grocery store!) to arguing that child soldiers exist but are only dangerous because of 'murrica. Maybe a better handle for QuestionAuthority would be QuestionBasicLogic. QuestionBasicLogic also switched from referring to the U.S. as a "great and powerful nation" to "murrican crazy land." Or maybe he's just misspelling "Moroccan." You should re-read everything. I was referring to the supposedly "great and powerful" country that's afraid of children and constantly police their citizens. Maybe english isn't your first language. The 17 year old "child" was arrested in Virginia according the link supplied. Maybe you don't know Virginia is part of the U.S. Maybe in addition to studying some basic logic you should brush up on your basic geography. Well children do copy cat what they see around them. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fbioprepwatch.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2014%2F05%2FSan-Mateo-Swat-Team.jpg&t=663&c=d0cx0FgC7xOrEg)

$116 million is an impressive number, I think they are the best funded bitcoin start up ever.
Yep it is i think, great news. This could be it guys hold onto your hats. Geez wake up man. It's not a bitcoin start up, they will just use the blockchain idea for their own products, not bitcoin or its network. Wouldn't this blockchain need bitcoin to operate since as far as i know blockchain can't operate without bitcoin or any other crypto. Yes you're right. The blockchain, the network and currency can not be separated. This belongs together. By the way... He knew it. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Listen 25:00 to 26:35! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9npQ5f74Nr4#t=25m00At 26:20 he said:"Bitcoin protocol being embedded in chips.Chips that can't be modified very easily!" What do you do if there's a protocol change, throw your phone away?

The G20 member nations should just nuke these damn heathen countries and turn all that sand into a giant glass parking lot for a mega Walmart. They could split the profit. LOL
There are too many innocent people in countries occupied by ISIS for this to make sense. The collateral damage would make up 99%+ of the dead.
Um, yeah. I don't think there's anyone that doesn't know that was a pointed joke aimed at our militaristic country. But you're scary though. Seriously though, doesn't it seem a little silly for a great and powerful nation to run in fear of a 17 year old child? Are we that fragile? The point is that we do not want terrorist orgs getting any financial support whatsoever. They are already targeting a lot of young people to fight for them
I guess just stopping the aggression and constant manipulation of countries where we don't belong is a stupid idea. You know how I kept crazy bullies from beating me up when I was a child? I had no contact with them and avoided messing in their affairs.

I have worked training troops and a 17yo. is the scariest solider you will ever face on the battlefield. That is the prime age for a fighter to enter the fight. They are young enough to be excelent learners in good physical shape, and inexperienced enough to not recognize the danger of fighting. it's hard to know what a 17yo. is going to do next in a battle. They can't be counted on to play it safe. They might just foolishly attack and die, but kill you in the process. There are thousands of kids like this currently fighting in Syria, Iraq, Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, etc... Well, I guess I should be packin heat then. Come to think of it, some of those grocery bag boys are pretty creepy lookin. I can see this little bastard chopping someones head off and storing it in his grandmothers freezer. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fold.seattletimes.com%2FABPub%2F2008%2F11%2F27%2F2008444521.jpg&t=663&c=exc0AdT2H6mRAg)

The law is quite clear on this. He could face years in prison for providing material support to a terror group. Since we are currently fighting them he may also face treason charges. The amount is not the issue, giving even a penny to dasch COULD result in a death sentence.
I think he knew that. It was his choice and now he will pay a huge, life changing price. If he was making some kind of political statement then he should do his time. If he is going to whine about how unfair the government is for punishing him because he is aiding our enemy... well, That little boy has a lot to learn about running with the big boys. They will teach him in prison. Or he can always go to the glorious Islamic State. That would also be educational.

Maybe tell those dudes to grab a money transmitter license like they're supposed to. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) J/K, we're still in the Wild Wild West phase of Bitcoin, shit happens, people go down when your trying to build something. I'll let BurtW know if the federal government ever lets us talk to him again. When Bitcoin becomes MasterCard I'll move on to something else. There are lots of federally regulated investment opportunities in the wild. Bitcoin is unnecessary for that purpose. It sucks what happened to BurtW, but please let's not drag that into this thread. Bitcoin will never become MasterCard, Bitcoin isn't a company or Financial Institution. This isn't an either or situation. You can't have Bitcoin thrive or survive, and no one pays the bills to keep the lights on and electricity running. Even Linux wouldn't be where it is today without Android OS which is owned by Google, probably the largest centralized force in the universe. Need to play both sides of the coin to be viable, there's no hard stance needed to be taken. Do you honestly believe a large collection of corporate investors are doing this for any other reason than profit? That profit most likely will not help the small Bitcoin user or holder. I can see it being much more desirable for corporate investors to have price hold stable rather than climbing. This will do nothing to help me but I'm sure some groups will become famously wealthy.

There's only one answer to this question.
It depends on the laws in your local jurisdiction. You should check your local laws first.
There are always regional differences in laws. Example: You can legally smoke cannabis in Colorado but you can't smoke it in a public place legally.

This tech is getting seriously dated. It won't be much longer before it doesn't even matter anymore. And old android smartphone & a gotenna transceiver and this tech would be irrelevant.
I haven't agreed with you much in the past MoonShadow but have to admit you nailed this one. https://youtube.com/watch?v=hr0rDW5j1KU

That's a brilliant deduction OP. People steal because they want money, they have a character flaw and are too stupid to earn it honestly. Fuck, never I could have figured that out all alone.
I'd have to disagree with this one. Some of the hacks and thefts in the past were performed by very smart and intelligent people.
Yes, of course you're right. Looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life is a sign of intelligence. Criminals always believe they're brilliant but usually spend the rest of their life trying to correct their mistakes (or in prison paying for them).

There's as good a chance of him getting a retrial as there is of him getting a fair trial in the first place - zero.

All that makes me think about is how much financial waste exists in the government. How many people are required to monitor, research and act on every little thing that happens on the Internet. It probably violates the privacy of fewer citizens and costs less to just let one of these groups blow up a building and pay every victim and survivor family $100 million each. Sometimes the decisions of the U.S. government seem almost sophomoric to me.
