Thanks Searing!

I am also preparing some kiosk with huge industrial fans for good ventilation.

The bad thing is that we already have 37C temperature here. August is our hottest month.

I wonder if I can maintain low temps at a small kiosk with dissipated heat of +25kW.

Let's wait and see.

25 k-watts and 60th not bad.   good luck keeping it cool!   I get a little over  85,000 btu's

what is your power cost a k-watt?

can you get gear like this below?

That is up to the manufacturers. We work on small margins and pricing is usually determined by the manufacturer. Smiley.

Yes but you could compensate your customers during the following situation to keep them from feeling 'ripped off':

1. Customer orders $2175 miner + shipping on 6/29
2. Next day - 6/30 no shipping status "Awaiting Fulfillment"
3. Following day - 7/1 price drop of $175.00 announced and posted on site
4. 7/1 several hours after price drop announced, tracking information received.

Doesn't really make me want to come back ZOOMhash for more, despite being a "ZOOM Founder"

Nor have I seen any way to use "Reward Points"

And now most likely due the 4th of July holiday, I won't see this purchase until the week of 7 July

Totally satisfied Michael -- NOT!!

If I'd have received tracking information prior to the price drop, my perspective would be different.

Referencing Order #6439

WOW!

I am impressed!

Zoomhash made this right, and refunded the difference in my order... Honestly, I couldn't ask for more.

I've ordered from them previously and never had any complaints on follow through. So I expect the remainder to go smoothly.

Aside from the delay in shipping I can expect from the 4th of July, I'm going to chalk this one up as an excellent deal. I already have tracking data from the order, but it looks like I probably won't receive my unit until the following week because of the holiday.

Thank you Zoomhash! You could have easily gone the route other resellers have and said, "Tough Luck" but you didn't, and I will certainly keep that fact in mind the next time I'm looking to make a purchase.

Sincerely,
elaramus

well it was he nice he did it for your  order number 6439.  my order number 6450  was not done.

it would need to be adjusted from 890 to 829 for 2 plus shipping  about 60 bucks. oh and ltc dropped just a bit more last nite. from $7.90 to $7.50 today.

well I feel you I ordered number  6450 .

I paid pretty low but not 399.

I purchased 10 of these blades.  And about 30 five  chip units  (I have spent over 10k at zoomhash )

Now the ltc price crashes and  I am not looking to buy any more I have 8 on hand and 2 on the way and ltc is at 7 bucks and change.

So I have to do what  beg here for a break on the last purchase?

It would be nice to get  something extra.

42570  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Using the heat from bitcoin servers... on: July 02, 2014, 02:27:45 AM
Hi ALL!

I am new to the forum.

I have a wood drying kiln room that I pay large amounts of electricity to generate heat to help dry the wood.

I want to change this practice by installing a bitcoin server room right next to it and piping the heat into my kiln.

I have a 11 feet long by 7 feet wide by 6 feet tall room to use.  Can someone please link me to what will fit in this space and how many? Smiley  Are there any threads on what the most recent machines are?  And how fast of internet connection do I need? I only have a cellular data 3G internet connection on the farm.

Thanks,
tb

Feel free to  send me a pm for free advice.

First question is how much power are you using to dry your wood?

1000 watts an hour?   1 kwatt an hour is 15 cents x 24 = $3.60 usd a day  or about 108 a month.

Do you use that much power?

Or do you use 500 watts or 1500 watts?

I need to know how much power you are spending to tell you what to buy.

I set up 3 s-1's  undervolted and under clocked  they burn 560 watts and hash at   420gh.

My best guess is you will want s-1's for your task.

3  =    560   watts
6  =  1120    "
9  =  1680    "
12 = 2240    "
15 = 2800   "

A simple 16 port switch and these are easy to setup.

A            plywood board with  up to 5 across and the psu
a second  plywood board on top  with up to 5 more

a third plywood board  with 5 more.

many s-1 are available as the s-3 upgrade has come out.

a 16 port switch is under 100 bucks

42571  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group]1699$ for dragon 1T bitcoin miner on: July 01, 2014, 11:54:55 PM
Hey Mr Lee, with SHA256 miners dropping in price drastically (Bitmain S3 now sub $1k/TH) do you think the factory are due any price drops soon?

I have had my dragon for about 70 days.  but this price change by bitmaintech will change prices.   remember it does not ship for 10 days or so.

Of course, but then you can't buy hosted miners from here till aprox the 8th either.

BTW This isn't a dig at Mr Lee, I know his prices are based closely on what the charge at the factory is, I was just trying to find out if he knew whether the factory were going to drop their prices in view of the competition. I hope so.
if the S3 are as stable as S1 and the price is 0.75 as they set, i think the factory of dragon will drop the price to be competitive,

Any news on the 1.2TH 1.5TH and 2TH options they have had "coming soon" for a long time?

Either being scrapped and remodeled to compete or won't happen, most likely.

Oh I dunno, there is a lot of profit in these for the factory. If they can sell them cheaper than $1K/TH but maintain around 1W/GH then they will sell.

I know there is Wink That's why I led with being remodeled (physically, or financially) to adapt. The hardware is there, they just have to make it efficient and make sense on paper.

Smiley

Prices are coming down all over the place, the 34MH/s B2 is now $1700 shipped.

It must be hard to keep up with the fast moving pace as a retailer.

Yep, a lot of it seems to be the wait and see approach and adjust to the market.

yep  since gear is more abundant then ever.  buyers have some choice.  I no longer buy in bulk.  I buy a few pieces at a time  to protect against dropping prices.
42572  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Projected Minimum Cost per BTC over the next year on: July 01, 2014, 11:51:34 PM
Thanks for putting this together. I'm confident that J/gh will decrease enough to mitigate this, but the possibility that all mining hardware producers fail at making a more efficient miner is highly improbable (especially because there are so many now) but not impossible!
I am curious about your statement.  How much more room do you think there is in this number?  At 28nm everyone is getting about 0.8 J/GH.  Going from 55nm to 28nm only reduced the consumption from 0.9 J/GH to 0.8 J/GH.  Lets say we can make 18nm chips.  The best case I would see is 0.5 J/GH and it would probably be higher.

In other words I don't see any way to get another order of magnitude change in this number - only smaller incremental improvements at this point.

Running the numbers at 0.5 J/GH is not a whole lot different than 0.8 J/GH and 0.5 J/GH may be a total pipe dream.

so lets say in 6 months the network drops to .5 J/GH   and the that is close to the brick wall. what would you predict price on JAN.1 2015 ?

Since I used 1 J/GH you just divide all the posted energy and cost numbers by 2 if you want to assume 0.5 J/GH.  So about $1,174.66
 per BTC.

Thanks for the info.  For the sake of argument lets say .5J /GH  and   If coins halved to 12.5 per block on Jan 1 2015 (I know they do not)  you would use $2,549.32   correct?

42573  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX.io GHS Bubble ? on: July 01, 2014, 10:46:40 PM
Well the bubble is exploding! GHS price down to 0.006 and dropping fast!

pop  pop pop

I purchased a bit today at .0060  put it back for sale at .0065

I put in a second order at .0055

And in under ten minutes it bounced to .0065 and i made some btc

maybe someone playing with it?
internal person maybe
i'll try your method, maybe i can make some profit there Grin

it is a guessing game at best.
I check the site every 4 hours..Then  if I stumble on it with a big drop like today I buy some and list it back about 7 % higher.

I turned 50 ghs at .0060 into 50 at.0065 in under 10 minutes , but that is truly due to looking at it in the middle of a good drop.  if I had checked 10 minutes later it would have been at .0065 not .0060.

42575  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 01, 2014, 10:25:26 PM
Did I read correctly that it only needs 2 PCI-e cables connected to run as normal (not overclocked)?

Correct. 2 for regular, 4 for OC'ing.

What I do not understand is this sentence: "Don’t parallel connected different DC input from different PSU into the same Hashing board." So does this mean you need two PSU if you're overclocking?

I understand they mean dont use 2 PSU for same hashing board. Anyways, with 1 PSU u can connect 4 PCI-e so no problem

yeah this is most likely exactly what they mean.

but with 2 psu's  each one doing one board each even thou it seems okay I will let some one else do it first.

I would think the opposite just use 1 psu with 4  pcie cords not 2 psu each with 2 cords.  best to be careful  let some one else be the first tester of that

Another cool use for the breakout boards: I'm using the 5v to power the AM-V1 RPi controller and control the PSU. Just strip the usb power cord(included) and slot the red(5v+) and black(ground) plug into the 5v connectors on the breakout board. Now you can power your BTCGarden AM-V1 and RBox units off of the same PSU.

I also want to note that you do not need to purchase an RPI controller from me. If you have your own, I'll can send just the SD card and RPi data cable.

the break out boards with mstrongbows protective case.

 can power:

 1) r-boxes
 2) rasp pi
 3) gridseed blades
 4) usb hubs
 5) five chip gridseeds

Right now I run 2 gridseed blades  with mine.   I plan to run 4 blades with it.

I also like my r-boxes your build has proven very stable. 3 pull 115 watts for 97 gh

at current price of 650 a coin they are pretty good gear.

I think they also provide 3.3 volt for something.. but be very careful on the 5v, its not designed for very much load at all.

thanks it is good to know.

Thanks Smiley ,  but I went to the link and

the price is 3296 for 8 plus shipping  must pay in btc.

the price is 866 for 2 plus shipping must pay in btc.

on zoomhash I paid 889 for 2  with shipping included  used paypal  and I will get 2% back in a promo from paypal.

so my net was 872 including shipping   with paypal's safety net I get 45 day protection for doa.

So for my purchasing level zoomhash is  still the winner.  Both price and safety wise.

I know it seems like a commercial for them but it is simple facts no extra back door deals.

here is a shot of the miners on wemineltc.     and I have tracking for my 9th and 10th ones.

most likely it would.  it has ohms at 20000.  the  8 stock resistors should read 4470  so if you set the ohm part of the meter  to 20000 you should get 8 readings close to the same.

if you do the 2-3 pencil strokes   it should drop to 3000   as long as the 8 resistors are all close it is the only reading you need.

 mine range from 2.9 to 3.4 k  or 2900 to 3400.

i allowed for that much variation on purpose so that I could post on this site that perfect ohm readings of 3200 or 3.2 across the board are not needed to work.
