I cant even imagine the nightmare of trying to wire up 12 of these somewhere and
not electrocuting yourself trying to afro-engineer something up with server PSUs and
not enough knowledge WTF you are doing, over taxing something, and either burning the
room down or getting hit with 220V 10amp of power out of a server grade PSU and being
dead in seconds.

The server PSUs are cheap but then the sidehacking comes in.

Dell 600W PSU is probably $25, sure, but you cant do shit with it.
The only SEMI neat and safe way around that is the $55 wiring rig
from sidehack.

So now you paid $80 for 600W.  Why waste your time and safety?
Just go buy a nice Corsair or other SAFE 1200W PSU that will run at
least two of them with room left over to overclock too for not much more?

I tell you what, wire up 12 of them for me ONLY with DELL $20 PSUs and send me a picture
of that fucking spaghetti sandwich wiring hazard.

So basically it's worth ~9btc to have a few less wires? Because that's what it will cost you.

Yes, if you don't have a clue what you are doing then you probably should just buy a $50 750w atx psu.

But for every serious miner there is always the $10 option.

You have to admit it's pretty sad when the only reason to buy an SP30 is to have less wires.

Plus spending 2 to 4 times the amount in electric bills as compared to cheap hosting
and they would take up 20 times as much space, and would be a wiring hazard and
would need an industrial AC unit to cool the room. Did I mention it was a wiring hazard?

Again, I wouldn´t compare the S3 too much to the sp30, more like the sp10.

It has various advantages though, such as less noise, earlier delivery from time of payment, lower entry costs to mining etc. (and is actually available to buy/order)

The S3s are much less temperature dependant than the Sp10 though.

At the end of the day both Bitmain and Spondoolies build good products that have their specific markets they are targeting.

In my opinion we should compare the rackmountable options to each other, aka the S4 to the sp30.

Wiring hazard is not an issue for any professional datacenter.

You aren't spending 3-4 times electricity bills because the s3 is equally efficient when underclocked.

The s3 wouldn't even take up more space when you consider cooling limitations. Even most high tech datacenters are incapable of cooling 55kw per rack so sp30s will need to be spaced out ~6-12u apart.

I estimate 12 s3s would take up ~9u which would be compatible with most datacenters.

I still don't understand this logic. S3 is equally efficient and cheaper but because it doesn't come with rack mounts you cant compare it with sp30s?

Why is the sp10 a more appropriate comparison? It's just a 40nm version of the sp30. It's not a quiet, affordable machine for home miners.

A B S?

Anybody but Spondoolies?

high: 658.88

I think there are alot of people betting on BTC going through the roof or something given how fast people bought out B1 S3s... B2 coming right on the heels as well. I don't see any softening in people purchasing either SP30s or S3s. Home miners? Are you seriously even considering people still mining at home? I think we all recognize that ship has sailed.

Arguing apples to oranges is ok if you like the sport but really I am keen on the PickAxe and other chips coming later. WPC almost done our Hammer board for the Allied DataTank but we are keen on the Rockerbox chips and then PickAxe.

It be great hear from you guys on what happened in BKK... but I guess we all have to wait for that news once the ink dries.

preorder is always a bad deal

sp30 will earn much less btc than in hand hardware you can buy now

dont forget about hosting fees due to ridiculous cooling design

unit should be 4u and have 8x120 fans

also that promised specs can be not achieved,

remember terraminer or bfl?

specs have already been tested, this is not one of your cowboy outfits.

if you don't believe in a product, then why do you advertise the manufacturer in your sig?

Regardless of who you are comparing it to, I wish you would stop waving around your $150 per SP30 pricing, because it doesn't exist for most of us.

Most of us are being quoted at best around $300-350 for SP30 and $150-170 for a SP10

What in hand hardware?

So because 2 companies which started as a scam failed/scammed you think that SP30 won't reach the specs? I know that you haven't really thought about it, but please do an effort to think a bit more.

Apples to oranges comparison.

I ordered 60Th/s from SP tech and I will need to power up and ethernet connect only 10 miners.

If I had to do it with the S3's, I would need 125 miners and 125 psus. WTF.

Spondoolies is a serious company, what they promised is less of what they have delivered, finally, so far.

can't even imagine 60TH makes my brain hurt and a 'pucker up' feeling just thinking about screwing that up) Smiley

Thanks Searing!

I am also preparing some kiosk with huge industrial fans for good ventilation.

The bad thing is that we already have 37C temperature here. August is our hottest month.

I wonder if I can maintain low temps at a small kiosk with dissipated heat of +25kW.

Let's wait and see.

(then again probably Fall 2016 60TH will be $499.95 usd the way this stuff seems to go!)

I believe mine have different batches in the same unit.

What are good starting voltages for me?  Just a reminder that I'm on 110v.

DC2DC DCR inductor flag loop 0 (0xD0) = 0x2

Post Asic Stats, please.

I would suggest to start with 0.650 on 110V. After some 30-60 minutes voltages will settle down, you will see in your asic stats page. Just take the lower value and use it as your starting voltage.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but I start at .65 v.  For this run I have the 110v limit lifted.  On a dedicated 20A circuit and 12 gauge wires.

25 k-watts and 60th not bad.   good luck keeping it cool!   I get a little over  85,000 btu's

what is your power cost a k-watt?

can you get gear like this below?
