Uninterruptible power supplies for 2-3 kilowatts are very expensive.
You can use a home backup power system that is used when designing solar-powered homes. It will be cheaper to buy the required number of batteries and configure the controller so that when the main electricity is turned off, the batteries work until the generator turns on.

Nothing is hotter than asus expedition gtx 1070 and palit gtx1060 dual. they run 72-78C with power limit 70. im so happy i sold them. i did thermal paste change pads but never got good results.
palit dual is one of the worst cooling systems on video cards. I had problems on 1080 and 2070 and other graphics cards.
I managed to return one video card under a guarantee with a refund of the amount paid, and on other models I attached 80х80 fans to the radiator.

philipma1957, keep us posted. I myself am afraid to buy new Nvidia video cards in stores.
4263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gearing up to buy some GPUs soon on: May 27, 2021, 08:04:30 PM
Don't expect cheap prices for video cards this year. Miners will not immediately sell video cards after the Ethereum price drop.
I think everyone will mine Ethereum as long as it is possible, because then there will never be such an opportunity.
Ethereum is one of the most promising coins on the crypto market.
4264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XFX RX 580, dead? on: May 27, 2021, 07:59:11 PM
I am sure many here has probably had this problem. I have an XFX RX 580 that keeps overheating.
I have changed the thermal paste and memory pads several times. Cleaned the heat sink thoroughly and replaced the fans, but still the same problem.
Is the card just dead? Or is there something one can do?

FWIW, I am running these values:
-core clock     1100
-core voltage  950
-mem clock    2200
-mem voltage 950
Correct setting.
Check the pearl barley tubes in the cooling system. Heat the heat pipe on one side and check the temperature on the other side. If on the other hand it does not heat up, then the heat pipes are faulty.
Or buy coolers Delta for 0.5-1A Smiley You will not have problems with overheating
4265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is your electrical cost/kWh on: May 27, 2021, 07:50:29 PM
I have 0.00064$ for 1kw
For people who have high electricity rate i recommend you buy solar panel without battery so you can use mixed power will reduce your electric bill alot.
What country are you in? Probably at the equator, where the sun is constantly shining. In Russia, for example, the payback period for solar panels is more than 6 years. You have free electricity, with such opportunities you can get an excellent profit in mining. How much money did you spend on the purchase of solar panels and the necessary equipment and how much power do you have?
4266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is your electrical cost/kWh on: May 26, 2021, 11:22:40 PM
Here in Dubai, for residential areas, the cost of electricity is 0.016 USD (1.6 cents) per kW/h
Please give me a link to the major shops selling video cards and computer components in Dubai.
I am interested in prices in your stores
Do you have a lot of people interested in mining?
The Arabic forum for miners is not very active.
I heard that video cards with a better cooling system are being made for your countries.
4267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth moving away from POW- Will GPU mining be lucrative on: May 26, 2021, 11:12:21 PM
nothing is lucrative on bear time, on bull time everything is lucrative even that crap 5 year old gpu you left for dead, 2 extremes.
5 year old crap - these are PX 470, PX 480, 1060 and 1070 - the best and most profitable video cards now.
Even 7 year old video cards are profitable today.

As long as mining is profitable, we will work.
When costs exceed profit, most miners will stop mining unless new Ethereum appears

I think that now many have felt a drop in profits. If this trend continues, you will have to suspend mining again.
It doesn't scare me. I mined cryptocurrency when the profit from a video card was less than 10 cents per day, and you are talking about a drop in profit.
Mining must live. Perhaps after Ethereum, the developer will come up with a new coin, which will have a low hash rate on old video cards. Then I’ll probably think about selling 4-5 year old video cards, and the new ones will mine something.
4268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire RX550 4GB - how to get 14MH/s? on: May 26, 2021, 11:04:29 PM
Hello i reach 14,7 mh with my RX550 Sapphire Lexa Pro and Micron memory. i will upload a screen later.
in my opinion, every RX550 will reach 14 mh with the right timings.

Hey man I have this exact same card, actually 6 of them, and I'm having loads of problems increasing my hash rate, would you be able to share you bios ? I would love to try it out, currently mi mining turtle coin on the chuckwa2 algo
I looked at the discussion of the miner on this video card, and found an interesting point.
On almost every page, users ask for an original BIOS for a video card Smiley
Before flashing the BIOS, save the original BIOS of the video card in order to restore it if it turns into a brick ..
4269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Profitable Mining coins on: May 26, 2021, 10:56:15 PM
Dogie Coin? I never heard something about. Or you mean Doge Coin?

It is not profitable. Dogie Coin is dual mined in ASICs along with Litecoin.
The price of this $ 0.33 coin may decrease by another 10 times, because Elon Musk will soon get tired of tweeting.
Buy better ASICs for mining bitcoin, this is a more profitable coin.

Not really, elon will pump doge again, he hold his doge and actually he will work on doge with the developer, he made some tweets today. I think we see doge at 1$ first and then it will go down to hell  Cheesy
If you are sure that the price of the coin will rise in the near future, then why mine it?
Buy this coin and sell it after the price increases.
You should not be engaged in mining shitcoins, it is better to mine top coins, the price of which will rise.
I'm already tired of Elon Max with his clown tweets.
4270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any usage for Block Erupter ASIC in 2021? on: May 26, 2021, 10:11:52 PM
Hi, recently my friend gave me Block Erupter ASIC (it gets up to 500MH/s) and i can't find any usage for this. It is too weak for Bitcoin mining even using a mining pool. Is there any SHA256 altcoin with low difficulty that this hardware can mine?
Your friend has a good humor.
Modern ASICs have a hash rate of 100 Tx / s or 100,000,000 MH / s on the SHA256 algorithm. I don't know the coins for your device. On SHA256 at https://whattomine.com/
calculator 7 coins, and they are all mined on ASICs.
I think that mining on it is pointless, but it can be sold to a collector.
4271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner 1.29: Partial RX 3060 Unlocker - 35 mh/s+ on Ethash in Linux with Riser on: May 26, 2021, 10:03:35 PM
Doesn't work for my 10x 3060 rig on Hiveos. I know it's only lolminer since I tried Trex and Nbminer and they both worked. Here are the last lines of the miner log:

" GPU 5: Starting DAG generation (normal mode)
New job received: 0xcb6b98 Epoch: 417 Target: 0000000112e0be82
GPU 6: Starting DAG generation (normal mode)
GPU 7: Starting DAG generation (normal mode)
GPU 0: DAG build complete 17%
GPU 1: DAG build complete 17%
GPU 5: DAG build complete 17%
GPU 4: DAG build complete 17%
GPU 3: DAG build complete 17%
GPU 2: DAG build complete 17%
GPU 6: DAG build complete 17%

lolminer exited (exitcode=0), waiting to cooldown a bit "

It keeps restarting and always fails at the same step, and eventually the rig crashes.
Try disabling multiple GPUs and try mining with 7 or 8 GPUs.
I read that mining farms with a large number of video cards have such problems.
If the lol miner works with fewer video cards, then the problem will be easier to find.
Users usually change miner
4272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.6d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: May 26, 2021, 09:54:15 PM
I have got a question which is related to weird problem. When for all the people who mine, they will squeeze every bit of their graphic cards to tune up the hashrate. However, I am doing the same thing but it is my first time mining. I changed the fan curve with afterburner for 3080 rtx graphic cards. Without mining, the setting of afterburner is applied to the graphic cards. In other words, it obeys the rules and works as expected. However, whenever mining or mining with phoenix Miner, the fans of the graphic card stopped and even the Vram junction temp temperature or the core temp of the CPU shoots up, the fans are not spinning at all. The 3080 we have is Zotac Trinity OC.

Just wonder how to make the fan work while mining? If anybody could help, really appreciate it.
If you are using Windows, then download MSI Afterburner and set the desired fan mode.
Download the latest version.
I do not use other software from video card manufacturers.
If you are using HiveOS or RaveOS, then set the maximum temperature of the video card.
4273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My electricty bill is through the roof. Got 15 gpus. CA on: May 26, 2021, 09:48:29 PM
I got a little miner rig set up in my little room. My bill came home and its through the roof. Estimate $520 in power bill.
I got 15 gpus all running some in different location and 2 inline fans. 3070 n 3080.
I gotta pay rent too. In Ca. Bill From pg and e. At least I have money left over to keep in my piggie crypto bank.

https://ibb.co/2dHt25H
It is better to familiarize yourself with electricity prices before mining.
15 of your video cards give 70-120 dollars of profit per day (I don't know exactly how many 3080 you have and how much 3070 you have)
In 5 days you will pay your electricity bill. I hope this is a monthly bill?
4274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: difference between 3090s. on: May 25, 2021, 04:38:04 PM
What kind of graphics card do you want to buy?
Basically, video cards differ in design and cooling system. This moel is very expensive, wait a little, I think the price will be lower soon.
4275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Writing about testing a SLI bridge on mining rig. Will it work on: May 24, 2021, 11:52:59 AM

****So SLI has nothing to do with cryptocurrency mining and would seriously limit you mining efficiency. But you could certainly use SLI in gaming and then disable it when you are mining. So SLI has nothing to do with cryptocurrency mining and would seriously limit you mining efficiency****

Can anyone help clarify this info so I can somehow fit it into my blog post https://www.techbusinessnews.com.au/bitcoin-in-australia/

From what I now seen. Adding an SLI bridge is pretty much not going to do anything.
I really need to update my article with my personal experience about mining from home. But I don't want to waste money on buying the SLI bridge if its really not going to work.

Everything correctly.
The new 30x0 series graphics cards do not support Nvidia SLI except for the RTX 3090 graphics card.
The GTX 2080 video card has already been tested in many tests, the hash rate does not increase. Miner developers do not optimize their software for this mode, because it does not give an additional hash rate.
4276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining software high gpu usage on: May 24, 2021, 11:41:53 AM
Hello everyone,
I've tried a lot of softwares for mining altcoins like unmineable phoenixminer, minergate etc..
But all those tools use my gpu at 100% and i want to configure to use like 60% only and the rest to be able to work or play something.
I hope you understand what i mean.
Thank you in advance!
What video card do you have?
For example, on the GeForce GTX 1060, you can play many games, for example, Fallout 2. You need to limit the maximum FPS of the video card. You will get the result: minus 3-4 Mh
If you have a more powerful video card, then you can play more modern games.
There are many tests on the Internet, I sometimes play myself, but not modern games. Therefore, there is practically no reduction in hashrate.

4279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is your electrical cost/kWh on: May 23, 2021, 10:11:30 AM
Russia
Irkutsk Region 0,012-0,015 $ per kwh
Moscow 0.07-0.08 $ per kwh, But in certain places the prices ~ 0.05$ per kwh
In my pegion the price is $ 0,03 per kwh. The limitation is 15 kilowatt / hour for 1 private house. (That is, you can consume 11 000 kwh of electricity per month, but in some cases more is possible)
$ 0,12 per kwh - unlimited (maximum limit is limited by technical documentation)
4280  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The Electric Heater that earns you money on: May 23, 2021, 09:58:23 AM
I saw heaters from other manufacturers in 2017.
849 dollars for 14 TH / S and 1300 watts, I think that in December it will be a very small hash rate and the profit will be minimal.
Such a heater for an area of 14-17 square meters can be purchased for $ 60. Therefore, it is better now to buy several S9 ASICs for this amount.

If you don't want to pay for the Electricity bill and want to earn some profit then much better to buy a higher ASIC miner than buying an S9 miner.

The only problem with Antminer they are too loud to run in the room compared to the ASIC miner posted by the OP.
It all depends on the cost of electricity.
In my country, a used S9 ASIC costs $ 100-150 without a power supply. Electricity can be paid at $ 0.025 per kilowatt in my country. S9 ASIC can be overclocked by using liquid cooling. Payback: 3-4 months Smiley
In the summer you will feel uncomfortable in a room with a heater Smiley
Asik should not be placed in a living room, they need a separate room.
