4261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crypto as Gambling: The UK government has laid to rest the controversial bill on: July 21, 2023, 05:20:36 PM
As we know, a panel of the UK House of Common Treasury Committee on May 17 proposed retail cryptocurrency trading and investment to be regulated as gambling as they viewed it as “same risk, same regulatory outcome.” I later threw this on board, and I was encouraged as people overwhelmingly disagree on this.

Since it's a mere proposal, yesterday, the Treasury's Economic Secretary Andrew Griffith blatantly rejected it as he “firmly disagrees” with the stance of the committee.

Some of the considerations of the government are:

1. The controversial proposal could cause conflicts of mandates between the Gambling Commission and Financial regulators.
2. It's odd and a deviation from global recommendations and stance on cryptocurrency trading.

The government however iterated its commitment to crypto regulation, and with the look of things, it would be regulated like other trading assets in the financial market, but with little alteration.

Personally, I don't know why this should be an issue from the beginning as cryptocurrency is an asset which should be treated as such in both payments, trading and investment regulations.

4262  Economy / Speculation / Re: $35,000-$37,000 for Bitcoin in 2023 as my peaking barrier, is breakout feasible? on: July 21, 2023, 09:07:12 AM
The bullish trend and movements of Bitcoin in April when I posted the $35,000-$37,000 as barriers suggested by my instinct were still much threatening, despite that, it has been unable to breach the quoted levels. It's instinctive speculation, yet it has proven very effective just as the majority of my instincts with regard to the market always come positive. I still maintain my view on these levels and hope to be smiling on the 1st of January next year. Smiley

We do really have that intuition sometimes when it comes to trading and price approach whether it would be reaching out those high numbers but it cant really be that predicted and this is where we do make some
technical analysis.
You might be right that traders need the verified analysis to be able to speculate, but do not forget the truth that insists often work. And at times, it works more than the trader's analysis as it's just the summary of what the trader knows about the market that his brain and experience are forcefully telling even if it couldn't be read directly on the trading chart.

4264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 21, 2023, 06:38:45 AM
Every player in the team contributed to Manchester City's title win. Of course, we can consider Haaland, De Bruyne, and Ederson as slightly more important players. But the performances of Alvarez and Foden on the bench were also excellent. Guardiola replaced these young players at crucial times. And they never let us down. Alvarez and Foden's performances were excellent despite playing less. And because of the good performance of each player as a team, Manchester City's performance has been consistent throughout the season. Manchester City's squad was strong, while their bench players were also very talented. Arsenal's bench players were weak as they could not maintain consistency of performance.
Manchester city growned in performance all through the previous years, there performance is totally on a different levels. Pep Guardiola has a way of handling things at Etihad Stadium; he's full of confidence in his game strategy, the supporting system identified as the fans, and, perhaps most significantly, the players who contribute outstanding performances on the field; every member of the squad cooperates without hesitation or misunderstanding. When it comes to players, Kelvin De Bruyne should be the first to be mentioned, followed by Erling Haaland. We're talking about the assist machine and the engine room.
Man City would definitely miss Pep Guardiola when he eventually leaves that club, the guy has spent 7 years there already, he can't be there forever. But his style has always been positive for Man City, and the club has won almost all the leagues after then. I still hope that Pep is careful with signings in this transfer window so that much changes would not distort the good results. Players like Ilkay Gundogan, Aymeric Laporte and Bernardo Silva would be missed if the deals are done, hope that good replacements will be fixed.

If it were me, this would be a long thought for me. Do I have to return it, and I won't, because I think the original owner must have kept the seed phrase in reserve.
and I will keep it in a safe place and I will always check at any time whether the bitcoin nominal is still intact or not and this will be done in the long term, while waiting for developments whether the person is looking for it or not. And if it's been years with no progress in the number of bitcoins and information from their owners, I consider it my luck. Grin
I can't help but laugh in Chinese here, it's not so kind to keep what is not yours, it's just gross. If I was you, I will either leave it and go my way as if I never saw it or call the attention of the hotel management to it.

4266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: July 20, 2023, 04:14:42 PM

As an adult you should be able to control your angry and not be behaving like someone who isn't wise or educated. You won't find educated people fighting on the street no matter what the issue is, they will take it indoor and behavior responsible by sorting out what the issue was.

Gambling is a personal decision and if you aren't making progress you don't have to blame others for it Instead you should ask yourself why you're losing and you'll see the mistakes that you're making then correct them and you might have a turnaround of luck and win your bets.

If you can't control your emotions then don't go to traditional casinos or sports bookers instead make use of the online ones. Atleast you won't have to interact with people to make you pour your frustrations on them meanwhile they didn't do anything wrong to you.

As an adult, we also need to know money management. Most gamblers tend to not acknowledge that due to their addiction, they face money management issues. That leads to arguments within the family and then it leads to a blame game. Who is to be blamed for the problem? It is the gambler but they generally take out their frustration on someone near to them. It is easy to say that you need to control emotion but money and the urge of winning makes it hard to control.
Agreed, those who are able to make money management properly will also be able to manage their gambling properly. Some gambler loses repeatedly, there may be some change in themself. They may suffer from depression. If they loses a bet, in some causes they try to blame someone else to reduce their human stress. However, not all gamblers have this nature. But one should never blame others for one's own faults. A gambler must have knowledge about this and should control their emotion.
Foolishness and the inability of someone to accept their fault could be responsible for shifting blame when no one pushes you to gamble. The solution to gambling rightly is to gamble responsibly, and that could be done through discipline and self-determination, nothing else. Fine, one could manage their gambling portfolio, but that's just an approach to gambling rightly, but addicts often abandon all that when they are losing, not even a reasonable calculation or advice can save them at that time.

Since this is a psychological issue that triggers the emotions of the gambler, it takes a psychological approach of being disciplined from within to tackle it.
4267  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it easier for an E-hailing company to move into food delivery? on: July 20, 2023, 08:29:30 AM
The question for discussion is, why is it easier for an E-hailing company to move into food delivery than for a successful restaurant to add E-hailing services to what they do? A perfect example would be KFC moving into E-hailing.
It's easy for the E-hailing companies to dive into the food delivery business, and will be easy for them to dive into any other delivery package for that matter because they are already in the transportation system. For example, Uber is already in the system, they are popular. Therefore, it's just for them to alter an app and call it whatever name they want, let it is known to the people, and the business starts.

As for restaurants, I don't believe it's difficult for them too, that's if they want to introduce it into their business, especially when they are popular and have all it takes like KFC. Only that it might not be part of their business focus. They could just make it known and bring experts in the distribution and E-hailing field. Although, some would consider the cost-effectiveness of it and rather partner with services like Uber Eats.

After all, a partnership is part of the business, you don't always own it all.

4268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 20, 2023, 07:43:33 AM
I'm not sure if Dortmund is doing the right thing because we know making money from selling younger players is a good move and they can use the money to achieve their goals and they can help the younger talents to grow but like that, they are losing the title in Gundesliha every season.

As soon as Bellingham went to Real Madrid, I'm sure Dormound got a smaller chance to win the title compared to the last season when they were racing Bayern Munich for the title.

Every activity in the world of football includes generating earnings, whether from player transfers or winning trophies; of course, Borrusia Dortmund hoped to win the Bundesliga title someday, but that has yet to happen. The club is making enormous profits by selling the primary players to elite clubs; there have been numerous previous purchases of their outstanding players; perhaps if the club had managed to keep the players up to this point, they would have been the top pre-eminent competitor in elite competitions, in terms of the presence of excellent players with stellar performance. The departure of Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid does not spell the end of the club; they have survived without Erling Haaland, Jason Sancho, and Robert Lewandowski.
Even if it doesn't seem obvious, there are two motives of clubs, it's to win trophies and to make money. It now depends on what they focus on and how they still manage their resources to achieve the two for themselves. Borussia Dortmund is stylishly achieving the two at the same time, and I will not blame them for that, though it's obvious that people have been talking much about it. Yet, they manage to always deliver as they always have a voice in the league and a top rival of any winner of the league.

They've been second in the last 5 leagues and ended up being third in one. This is not so bad and one day they will get it right and be the winner. Bayern Munich is not a club you could just win anyhow even without selling good players, Dortmund would not also sell all their good players, only that they would have had their chance on Bayern last season if they are better serious enough.

4269  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 20, 2023, 06:56:13 AM
~snip~
Forget about increasing or reducing the population, it doesn't work, they are just litmus test as far as I'm concerned and it has different results per country. Once the foundation/system is wrong, it's a problem, the country can't get it right with either increased or reduced population.

I wouldn't agree that it doesn't work if it can be implemented exactly as intended, and China's One-child policy is a prime example that such a thing is possible. Despite all the controversy surrounding the policy, it is estimated that from 1979 to 2015, about 400 million less children were born in China due to the measure.
Here we go again, when policy is inside policies, people tend to be confused about what worked. I thought of China while posting, and if anyone says that it's population control that helped China then the person misrepresents it. Any country that gets it right has nothing to fear about population, the management of the situation to their advantage through the right leadership and policies is the answer. This can only explain why countries like Canada are looking for more immigrants, you should know that an increase in population is never a problem, but the system the increased population would meet. If the system is positive, the increased population will help, if it's negative, then it becomes an issue.

As for China, this was what they tried to curb as they weren't getting the system right then while the population was becoming alarming, they averted a disaster. As of today, their big number even helps more since their system is working fine, the population increase would only have been an issue if they follow suit their former bad economic path, and now experts are concerned about looming issues if their population drops much as too much ageing population is never good for an economy.

Finally, what helped China to achieve their present status is mainly attributed to "good leadership and human resources." Also, their weaker currency compared to top countries aids further in the good trade balance which helps their GDP. Their ability to produce substandard products and render services cheaper than many top world countries goes a long way in helping their economy, this is even as their huge number contributed to this success, not otherwise as you indicated.

4271  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 19, 2023, 11:12:10 AM
The population could be a blessing or a curse. This depends on the leaders of the country we are talking about and the people therein.

If policies are not good enough, the higher the population, the more devasting it would be. Another thing about the population is about those people that form the population (the masses), if they are nonentities, then there is nothing much positive that would come out of it.

Forget about increasing or reducing the population, it doesn't work, they are just litmus test as far as I'm concerned and it has different results per country. Once the foundation/system is wrong, it's a problem, the country can't get it right with either increased or reduced population.
4272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 19, 2023, 08:48:53 AM
Next season it is very likely that there will be a difference in terms of title competition in Serie A, but Napoli will also try their best strategy to be able to get several wins since the start of the season even though the coach is different for next season. But each coach will also study and see how the previous Napoli team performed so that they can apply the things that Napoli previously needed next season. But I'm also sure that the competition will be very different next season and it won't be easy for anyone.
Serie A is quite random lately, you never know the team that will lift the scudetto. Napoli until now are one of the best since they are holding their best players. Inter, Milan, Roma didn't made a lot of changes while Juventus are still in progress. We have to wait until the end of this summer transfer window to know how every team looks like and their ability to fight for the top spots.
Next season looks like it will be even more interesting in the race for the scudetto trophy. Because the imbalance of the big teams will bring more interesting surprises that happen in Serie A. I think this will continue to happen in Serie A because they are in a financial crisis phase, which makes the big teams sell star players which causes the big teams to lose balance in every season.

Maybe that will give birth to a more competitive competition because it is almost likely that no team has stronger strength but almost all of them have the same strong strength so that the matches that occur in Serie A next season will be quite difficult to predict. So, if you look at Napoli, there is a high possibility that they will also experience big changes next season because they tend to experience a more efficient decline in their performance during the final matches of last season. So that will be our benchmark if next season there will be opportunities for other teams to win the Scudetto trophy. Even Napoli will find it difficult to defend the Scudetto title next season.
I thought I was the only one considering this, there are no major changes with their teams, so I predict something similar to what happened last season. But of course, with a little alteration some new management would be seen and the determination of the players to bring out their best matters too. Juventus is another club that I know will try better than last season irrespective of to/from of the current window, the team seems okay to me and have to be the major rival of their champion Napoli. But know that there is no club that is not facing a financial crisis, they know how to sort this out, I only believe that they are treading carefully.
4273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 19, 2023, 07:47:21 AM

at least more states looking for 21 years old before being legal to gamble and that is much better than most countries that only  asks for 18 years old in which for me still not that completely aware of life and may fool around to become addicted in gambling.
I wish that this is truly implemented and not just a use to make gambling sounds good but many are not bringing this to reality.
I've ever known that the minimum legal age that one could do most adult things is 18 years of age, and the authorities in the US must know what they are doing which explains why they added an extra 3 years to it in most states. Even many people that are well over adulthood have challenges with gambling addicts as they couldn't control themselves in some cases not to talk of those teenagers that are just entering adulthood.

With regards to if they can adhere to this, you should know that this is not the situation in most cases. The parents, children and betting companies/agents they are dealing with are all guilty of this. Any of them with good stature could get the service easily, while in other cases, a visibly underage would bet without any question asked. While some parents would even send their underage children to access the service for them.

Bitcoin may be worth 100k$ around 2025. Then maybe we can earn from Bitcoin.  And we can go further in agricultural development.
The boldened part is the best part of what you wrote. If it was to be some, they will definitely abandon farming and its benefits entirely and rather go and be living life to its fullest in the urban area until they squander the money. You guys are doing well!

Truly, I have the instinct that Bitcoin could be more than $100k in the next 1.5 years, so it's a very good decision you guys are making. You can do better by propagating this news to the neighbouring communities as well, they will surely thank you later.
4275  Economy / Speculation / Re: $31450 proves too strong for Buyers, but Sellers may only dominate below $29400 on: July 19, 2023, 06:49:11 AM
#Concluded sumup#

I guess you read the post in a hurry, I proofread my posts many times before posting them.
Regardless, your query has been addressed earlier above the place you picked it, that's for those who read it from the beginning since there are ATHs of the same year before and after the one I referred to, which was why I used "before the subsequent ones" as seen in my quote below.

It doesn't matter how many times you proofread them, if the idea is faulty it is what it is.
The ATH was already broken, even if you mentioned it so why would the previous ATH still matter in this whole thing, if you take it as an example of how the price reacts after it then simply go one further ATH back and see that is doesn't resemble this cycle at all, so what's the point fixating on it when it's no longer the ATH, there is no resemblance to the previous situation where we had two consecutive ATH broken, sooo ...they are just random lines that currently don't mean a thing as you can see from the price!

Your words:

Quote
These two lines are the $31450 (the year's ATH established in June) and the $29400 (where the correction of June's bullish run ended). By principle, both levels have constituted strong barriers that need to be broken before a trend could be established.

Since the lines were broken once, why didn't this "trend" manifest already? Besides, the whole thign is silly, if it goes below or above a few liens it will either go up or down from there, I swear even Nostradamus was more precise with his predictions.

Meanwhile, buyers and sellers could still be dragging the trend within the wider scope of the trend depending on the term you are looking at (short/long).

So if it goes up or down from those lines the price might go up or down and in case it doesn't cross the lines the price will keep between those levels, right, unless it will go above or below one! Now you see the problem with your "prediction?
Well, my own proofreading matters much to me for my work to be more correct, constructive and accurate as possible. That's why I do it many times before I post. However, your last reply made me realize that you don't seem to fully understand what I was talking about, perhaps twisting it, no wonder you are the only one complaining about this while others share their views. I see no error in my view and explanation.

For the first part, it was irrelevant whether the ATH was broken or not since I defined it well that it was when the ATH was still that of the 23rd of June, which was also the peak of the month, and I made it known that it wasn't the year's ATH because I don't have business with the ATH after June in my upper barrier consideration. It's the scope of my analysis, what else could a writer do in this regard? Anyone could define their writeup as they like, it's the reader that should try to understand, not try to force the writer to write it in their own way.

And for the second part, haven't you heard about fake and false breakouts? That's what happened, and it's even evident by the market not having a single daily close above June's ATH, they are just fake. The phenomenon is simple and common in the market, I wonder why it's a big deal for you. While the reason is that more selling interests are at that level ($31450) than the will of the buyers. Therefore, it doesn't matter if a market breaks a level, what matters is whether or not it sustains it. Did it sustain it? No.

Lastly, I don't see any problem with my prediction, Bitcoin has a long-term bullish trend but was channelling with no particular short-term trend when I made this post. The buyers and sellers will continue to play their games in their minor ways within the larger scope of the overall bullish trend. However, a successful breach of $31450 by the buyers will activate the continuation of the overall bullish trend, while a breach of $29400 activates a continued bearish correction that might lead to a major bearish reversal if it persists.
4276  Economy / Speculation / Re: $31450 proves too strong for Buyers, but Sellers may only dominate below $29400 on: July 18, 2023, 12:58:19 PM
Even your graph clearly shows that's not the annual ATH, the current one happened on the 15th at 31665 (average) and 31656 right there on the image you used! So the trend is already broken!

For those of us who trade the trend of the market, Bitcoin has been so frustrating since the 23rd of June when it hit another year's ATH before the subsequent ones.

Meaning that the "(the year's ATH established in June)" I stated was the reference to the 23rd of June's ATH. It's not the ATH of the year as you believed, there is one before and others after.

Those two things contradict themselves, you can't have both of them increasing their presence compared to the other one.
As for this part, I'd read it twice and saw no single fault in what I wrote. It explains what exactly I see and still see on the subject. Meanwhile, buyers and sellers could still be dragging the trend within the wider scope of the trend depending on the term you are looking at (short/long).

However, more attention is on the $31450 as buyers seem to be gaining more traction compared to the lower level of $29400 which has not been threatened since the last day in June. Regardless, more sellers seem to be piling up around $31450, which could only explain why the market has not had a single close above the level in the last 24 days despite all the attempts of the buyers and some positive news.
For details' sake, "as buyers seem to be gaining more traction" and "more sellers seem to be piling up" denote the general psychology of the market even though the price is hooked at some place as captured in the picture attached. Even at that, nothing is contradictory here because the market has the right to sell on reaching $31450 when it encounters more sellers there even if it was bullish. And again, the sellers might regroup at the level for subsequent selling if the market recovers back to that level upon the initial selloff caused by their (sellers) activity. This could continue unless higher buying interest is indicated at the level, and this is just a normal thing happening in all markets.

You know, Reddit is very funny.

r/cryptocurrency was proclaiming a bullrun that turned out to last for all of two hours. This happened the day before yesterday. I mean I get that everyone is fixated on staying about $30K, as if it's the surface level of the ocean, but come on guys, there's not enough interest from people who'd possibly buy more BTC. So why get so fixated on this "bullrun"? :/

Comparing Arsenal with Man City will not yield a good balance because the two are not the same when it comes to the brilliance and consistency of their coaches. The weakness in Arsenal later got revealed due to a few injuries and all these still lead to the blame of the coach as that is part of what is expected of him to get the viable mains and backups. You also have a good observation that Alvarez and Foden are good backups for Man City, it is part of the plan. Even at that, Arsenal got relented months to the end of last season, they can't simply get it done with such unwilling morale shown.
comparing the two teams between Arsenal and Man City makes sense but saying Arsenal's performance failure and blaming the coach doesn't make much sense. if you can see as a whole this is not the coach's fault but have you seen the star players that are at Arsenal? maybe no.
well, that's the problem Arsenal need a star player who has high performance power like Man City has Haaland even though he wasn't too flashy in the champions league last season but for EPL matches Haaland has a strong performance.
so it doesn't make sense if you blame the Arsenal coach while it's not easy being Arteta who has tried to work hard to make a good contribution to bring Arsenal to runners up in the EPL.
Your points are not logical, maybe you should go back to read what you replied to for better understanding since it's obvious you just replied out of context. No one is entirely blaming Arteta, he tried last season and won awards, and no one is also disputing the fact that Man City has good firepower in their squad. What I agreed to in my response to a post by @BALIK is that as clubs are preparing for their main squad, they should also do so for their backups too, that's in case of the unforeseen. This one you are ranting about by stating the obvious is what I simply don't understand.

I would say Guardiola's brilliant match strategy is why Manchester City won the Premier League and Champions League titles. There is no doubt that Haaland is a very important player in City's squad. But it would be wrong to think that City won the title only because of Haaland. Manchester City's squad is very stable. And Manchester City is strong as a team. They weren't solely dependent on Haaland's performance. Guardiola changes his match strategy before various important matches. This is why City's performance was consistent throughout the season.
Indeed strategy is an important part in every game but not all players can apply the strategy correctly here I think Haaland can apply it well and find a great partner like Kevin De Bruyne ready to supply the ball. I don't deny that the Manchester City squad is stable and complete but Arsenal's squad is also not much different the weakness is in the second tier players , for this season as Arsenal have prepared it certainly do not want to repeat the same problem.

I think Arsenal's main problem last season was their weak bench team. And so if any player is injured then they cannot make a suitable replacement. And because of this, there was a gap in the team. Arsenal's performances lost consistency due to injuries to several players. Their performance is stable. And the group never got back to the truck. On the other hand, Manchester City's attacking players do not have to face many problems even if they get injured. They had talented players like Alvarez and Foden as backups.

I heard about this flash transaction a while ago, but with all my queries and research, the information was wrong. It's another means for scammers to reap you of your money. Everyone should avoid it and be aware that some software/apps compatible with Google were advertising it at that time. It might be a way to infest your gadget as well.

Come to think of it, the Bitcoin blockchain is not a joke, the deal is always done after some reasonable number of confirmations that can't be reversed. I wonder how such a flash mechanism could be allowed to fit in. Be warmed!

1. Does the desire for a personalized address outweigh the privacy concerns associated with generating a vanity Bitcoin address?
It's simply No from my angle. Bitcoin was not primarily designed for personalization and recognition. On the contrary, was designed for anonymity and privacy.

2. Is the environmental impact of the computing power required to generate vanity addresses justified for personalization purposes?
It's not worth it if one should consider conservativeness. But for those people and companies that put personalization and identification on their heads, it might.
